Laelia looks at him in silence. Tears falling from her eyes and declares to him yes. He embraces her as he then swings her around. Kissing her passionately as they stop and then look at the stars above.
Childhood:
Aelius Ovideus second born to the Ovideus royal family. His lineage is traces back 6,898 years by Azarias and Gaia. He is known as the heir to spare and nicknamed as the playful prince as a child. Rambunctious and messy he loved to play in the dirt as the soldiers trained. As soon as he can walk, he always wanted to become a warrior.
His father Odysseus telling him many times that he takes after his younger brother Cornelius. The rogue knight who lived without a care in the world.
Training with a wooden sword at the age of three. He loved every moment. So much so he preferred to be out in the arena than in court. He trained hard every day with many different trainers arranging from Prisshek to the Purple screamer. By the age of twelve he was quick enough to fight against adults.
He was a very rebellious child. He loved to disobey and create pranks on everyone around him. Especially on his older brother David. It was stated in many texts that David has always been the centre of the room. As Aelius watches from the sidelines. Many priests later labelling as Aelius jealous and tried to attention seek.
He did enjoy socialising and have a few friends from other noble families. Damian Drakus, Zaccian Zelta, Krillo Kanchana Victoria Springs (bastard child of Cornelius) and Artemis Morningstar.
He loves his family dearly very close to his cousin Duke Erastus Ovideus who is a few years his senior.
Aelius at age eight and Erastus at age of ten lie underneath the canopy of the large tree of hope in palace garden. Reading to each other the two laugh and giggle as they read their families history.
"I will be moving into the temple of memories soon..." Erastus says, breaking the serenity.
Aelius knew this was coming. Every seer of the past lives in the sacred temple of memories. He sighs, no matter what he said Erastus will be moving regardless.
"I do not want you to go... You are the only one who is fun around here." Slamming the book shut he sits up.
"I have a duty to perform. Memory guardian is a hard responsibility. I have thousands of years of family members' knowledge to go through. Train my power to help Uncle Odysseus and your brother."
"A duty... At least, you have a purpose, I still do not know what mine will be. Heir to spare... My brother is perfect in every way. But I am going to miss you..." There was a sharpness in Aelius's tone.
"The temple is not far from here. You will see me around..." Erastus stands up and begins to walk away. "Think of it this way Aelius. None of us chose our burdens we must bear. You have something we do not have... Freedom."
Teenage years
At thirteen he traveled to Mille Voix, Vulkania, and Macdan. His father hoped to settle him down and experience various parts of the world. He loved every moment and wanted to explore more of it.
With his prowess, he believed he can start listing in tourneys. Against his family's wishes at fifteen he and his dragon Sabinus joined the listing. As a rogue knight from a distant land. He came fifth amongst other contenders keeping his identity a secret for a few years. Revealing himself after winning the tourney of the golden heart.
Laelia First Meeting: 7,004 Age 16
At the age of fourteen talks of betrothals began. David being heir to an ancient civilization finding his future bride is of utmost importance. He is much older than Aelius And always avoided the subject. But Aelius knew David's secret, which he always respected.
David and Aelius sit alone in David's bedroom.
"What are you going to do? Mother and father are beginning to raise suspicions. You have to be careful..." Aelius says worryingly.
"You think I do not know that!?" David says with the utmost restraint. He rubs his face hard as he wanted everything to go away. He then races over to Aelius on his knees. Trying his hardest not to cry. "I will do my duty... Like I always had, I will marry a young and beautiful woman. And I will try my hardest to love her as a man should. I will give her children. Those children... My children will become heirs and one day they will sit on the gold throne."
Many women arrived from all over the world in the next few years arrived to try and claim David's hand in marriage. Including a young woman from the Light-Blue Empire. She claimed to be a new senator, but his family knew better. It was a game they politely played. Laelia is a duchess in technical terms. Since Princess is only used for direct heir lineage. Being the daughter of the Kings brother. Duchess Laelia and Grand Prince David were introduced.
Laelia was smitten as many other women were. David is a handsome and kind man. But Aelius could not ignore her beauty. Deciding to remove himself from the situation he abruptly left.
Aelius was bored after watching his poor brother meeting many women non-stop. Even though he admitted much later he was jealous. His brother almost had a never-ending banquet of women of his choosing. Aelius favours another young lady named Mary Couture. But she did not view him the same way, being far too obvious in her intent to get political power.
Aelius knew that their first meeting did not end well. But decided to begin playing harmless pranks on her. She herself began to play. Finally, out beating him by dying his hair black calling it even. (He kept it up for six months after, much to the annoyance of his parents.)
In their free time, Laelia helped the poor as he aided her to give the less fortunate better supplies to survive.
Aelius wins his first tournament, he asks Laelia for a favour. She happily obliges as she throws him a wreath of flowers. He publically named her the maiden of beauty.
Wedding and Honeymoon World Tour: 7,006 Age: 18
Everyone around the world attended the wedding. All the world leaders attending.

Twelve as the lucky number, they had twelve-course meals every day, twelve singers from each country, twelve bridesmaids, and groomsmen. The wedding ceremony lasted twelve days as they have the first day of the bride. Then the second day of the groom. On the third day, they celebrate together to prepare before the wedding. The fourth is the first part of the wedding where they say their vows and practice the gold ancient rights. The fifth day is the second part of the wedding where they practiced Light Blue traditions at Laelia's request. Where Aelius and Iolene swam in a salted pool. The sixth day is a tourney where everyone is invited to come to watch. Seventh-day the newly wedded couple explores the city to visit commoner well-wishers.
The rest of the days are various celebrations ending on the twelfth day as the couple leaves to journey the world.
It was a grand and opulent wedding fit for a royal couple. It was a peaceful time and everyone is happy, a world statement to gold wealth and prosperity from such peace. It was the last gathering the world had before everything changed.
Their honeymoon was to travel the world. They did not visit the Black Empire due to Laelia finding out she was pregnant. But everywhere else was peaceful and content. Making friends and creating good relations.
The Kidnapping of Erastus 7,007
Erastus gets kidnapped by dragon separatists and Aelius leaves with his friends to rescue him. The dragon separatist named Furox is apprehended and is given a life sentence. (Later released during the night of tears and is roaming free.)
Death of Emperor Odysseus and Grand Prince David: 7,007
Aelius stands in the throne room with his expecting wife and his mother the Empress. The city is in chaos. The explosion destroyed a small part of the city. Killing many civilians and buildings. Details quickly emerged that the Emperor and Prince were found in pieces. As dragons roared in protest against their human masters.
Laelia in shock goes into early labor and manages to deliver a healthy son. Aelius was with her the entire time as promised. Both cried with grief and happiness as they held their child.
Coronation: 7,007
It should not be me, my father should still be alive, and David... Aelius's mind reeled. It has only been a month since his father and brother are gone. And now a heavy crown is to be placed on his head.
Soldiers and priests everywhere... The coronation is not a public one due to safety. Elder priestess Tulia reveals the ancient crown of old. Aelius choosing from many crowns that have been created over thousands of years.
A thick gold band that had large five sigils representing the most powerful of Empires. The curved five-pointed star of Gold, the flame of the Red Empire, the fist of Green, the Lightning bolt for Blue, and the Eye of Black. Each glowed with power as the draconium resonated in the crown. It felt heavy as did the burden Aelius now faced. He is using all his will and might not scream and cry in grief and rage.
Nero, Stein, Laelia, Mali, his aunts, uncles, cousins and the highest noble families of the Empire attended witnessing the procession.
"Repeat after me, your Majesty," Tulia says sternly. "I promise to be the light in the darkness, I am the sworn protector of the realm and all inhabitants. I will be just and true with my judgments and grant mercy to those who deserve it. I am the blood of the titan, and my descendants shall be after me. I will do my duty no matter what it takes."
Tulia says strongly "All hail Emperor Aelius, fifth of his name." Bowing low as everyone followed suit. It is official... I am now Emperor. As silent streaks of tears fall down his cheeks.
Death of the Dowager Empress Mariana: 7,007
A few months into his rule, the mother Empress was assassinated by poison. By her own dragon Marigold.
Devastated Emperor Aelius sentenced her to death. Causing increased tension between dragons and humans. For the dragons believed she was innocent. She was their dragon lord and was highly revered.
The death of Grand Prince Odysseus: 7,009
"My son..." Aelius says as he looks down at his son's lifeless body. "So young... Why... Stein... My heart cannot take much more..." His voice wavered. He has not slept or eaten since his little body was found. Aelius's body once strong and full has become thin and tired. Laelia has not left her room in grief and refused to be attended to.
Aelius's young family hit another blow. The young prince died a quick death from falling out of a window. Aelius demands an inquiry as to what happened. No answer was found. The nanny was questioned and imprisoned. But she had no answers, the grand prince was only a toddler. Leaving Aelius no immediate heir. Leading to an inquiry into the succession. Making a secret heir of Erastus Ovideus if anything was to happen to Aelius.
Escape and Exile: 7,010 –7,015 Age 27
It was a quiet evening that transformed into a night of annihilation. Aelius and Laelia were woken up by a servant girl. She was never supposed to disturb them, however, she overheard a disturbing conversation with Lord Nero. This quick warning saved the lives of the two. As thousands of the Black Empire soldiers teleported to Loan. Fleeing by the underground tunnels only managed to create a group of sixty humans and dragons.
Much of Loan was destroyed as the commoners named it the night of tears.
Aelius and Laelia explored the world trying to gain allies. The Light-Blue Empire pledged allegiance but is not enough... Many of their allies and support in Loan have been murdered, tortured, and imprisoned. The Blue Empire shunned them, the war against separatist dragons hit the Red Empire hard, the White Empire shunned them, Light Green has been taken over, and Brown declared to assist.
Orange and Purple are too dangerous to even ask.
Through this time he coloured his hair and tried to change his appearance. With his skills, he worked as a mercenary and was very good at it. A very different life as they never stayed in one place too long. But Aelius surprisingly adapted.
He was crying again, but these were not tears of sadness they are tears of joy. Gently rubbing Laelia's growing belly. Feeling hope as he felt a kick as he kisses Laelia lovingly. "That night..." He whispered in her ear.
"Yes, that night!" she replied as she remembered the hot spring.
Aelius now feared for his partner more than ever. She will not be able to fight. She has to go home...
Laelia was once again with child, Aelius begging her to return to Aquarius City. She refused; the Green Empire is their last hope. Stating that she and Grand Prince Arman are friends. But she did not count his father Emperor Arman Kaiser. Who rejected them and tried to have them imprisoned. This eventually led to them being found.
Grand Prince Arman Kaiser sneaks them away in the darkness giving them a head start. The league of eight traced after them like wild dogs. Finally finding them nearing the Brown Empire border.
It was too late... Vipstraunius, Colossus, Valadeera, and Kaunis caught up. They bought an army and Aelius only had twenty faithful. Each fell one after another. Now only Aelius, Stein, and Laelia remained. Going into early labor Laelia had no strength to fight. Aelius gave his wife one last kiss as he stayed behind to protect her one last time.
"It is over my love... It is all over for me. But it is not over for you or the baby. Protect our little one... May they grow beautiful and strong and have more sense than I ever h-" He was cut off as Colossus smashed through the trees. Stein pulled Laelia away. She felt the contraction as she bends over, wincing in pain. Stein placed her onto the saddle of Veseo. Racing away from Aelius's vision. Goodbye Laelia...
Dragon: Sabinus 6,988 – 7,010
Picked from a nest by Empress Mariana when she first discovered she was with child. She kept a hold of it throughout her pregnancy as royal tradition. (To strengthen their spiritual bond). Sabinus hatched a few days before Aelius's birth, to everyone's happiness.
They were close as they grew up together. His bonemark formed at five years old as he let Aelius ride him for the first time.
Playful and happy-go-lucky he loved to play fight with the other dragons. He was not the smartest but he was fun to play with. He was smaller and leaner than other gold dragons. Which did leave many underestimating him as he used that to an advantage.
He like Aelius loved to joust. Growing love for the dragon sports he wanted to partake in it as much as he could. They became a dynamic duo by signing up for tournaments.
As Aelius ascended the throne, he tried his best to help him. Dragon and human relations are falling apart. Aelius named him Dragon Lord in an emergency when he did not want the role. Creating massive controversy as Dragon Lords are chosen by dragons. Leaving Sabinus threatened by other gold dragon families. Deeming that he is not wise enough. But he tried his best.
As the night of tears began. Aelius never saw his oldest friend again. He was killed in the entrance of the old and broken Dragon Den. Trying to warn the dragons of the incoming threat. Being known as one of the first gold dragons killed in the massacre.
