This is a fanfic based on Dark Souls 1. Not any others in the series.

Main OC is called Polly Pines. Let's begin.

Chapter 1:

I'd had quite the fun night before I'd gone to sleep. It was my 22nd birthday party and it was also the first time I had sex with someone, that being my boyfriend. It was amazing, not at all painful like people claim their first times are supposed to go, and it was amazing how many things we did in the heat of the moment. But that's not what this fanfic is about, so instead, I'll talk about the fact that I was out like a light after the party was done, as it had gone past 3 in the morning before everyone was gone. And while in my bed, I felt something weird happen... something that I couldn't quite place, but I knew it wasn't right... but when I woke up, I'd realize that something bad was happening!

I opened my eyes, looking all around me, but my vision was quite blurry. "Ugh... my aching head... I shouldn't have had that martini on the rocks three times in one night..." I groaned as I felt I had a massive hangover, me then throwing up a bit... and when I did, I then felt my eyes lose their blurry vision slightly as I saw that... I wasn't at home anymore! "What the frick?!" I shouted as I looked around in shock. In place of my room of fluffy blue and pink decor was a dank and dirty prison cell! One that I recognized immediately from the game I'd finished playing a week before the party! I WAS IN DARK SOULS!

"It can't be... I can't be here! I JUST turned 22! I need to talk to Julius and ask if he wants to have another session! I can't be stuck in this hellhole!" I shouted before I then saw a body fall from above right next to me, causing me to vomit again, mainly because I was still sick. I looked above to see the knight above before he then retreated, me going to the body and searching it over before grabbing a duo of objects. The first was the key to my cell, but the second was extremely confusing, it being the Peculiar Doll. As in, the doll that would let me go to the Painted World. But WHY would I want to go there?

"I... I just hope this is some freaky dream and that I'll wake up soon..." I said... but then I also noted one more thing on the ground. It was a bandit knife, me grabbing it and knowing I'd need to use it to attack anything that wanted to hurt me, which would be almost all of them. Regardless, I then used the key on the cell and opened it up, me then going through and out the door, pushing my glasses to my face so I could see around me... and it was then that I realized I was in my pajamas that I wore in the form of my neon green shirt and my purple leggings. "Well, this is embarrassing..." I groaned as I then saw my first couple of undead enemies and proceeded to slash at their necks, managing to slice their heads off?! What?! Was this knife really stronger than I gave it credit for?!

After doing them in, I then went up the ladder and opened the gate to the courtyard, where I then lit the bonfire by using some stones and clacking them together to make the fire form, me smirking at how it went high shortly after. "Ah... warmth..." I sighed as I then got myself slightly warmer... and then I gasped when I saw something on my right hand. It was the Dark Sign! And it looked like it was pulsing a deep red on my hand, which made me freaked out. I then poked it with my finger and saw that, when I did so, I then managed to see my stats! And that... my magic points were almost completely maxed out?

"What the hell?" I asked as I then thought of how ludicrous that was. If I could be that strong, then I could just fly over the wall! But then... I gasped as I suddenly started to hover off the ground uncontrollably! "AAH! H-How do I get down? S-Stop flying! Stop-" I was about to finish before I slammed back onto the ground face-first because of gravity. "Flying... thanks for nothing, Isaac Newton..." I groaned in annoyance as I then picked myself up and then went to the big gate that led to the first boss, me going through it and seeing that the way was clear, but I knew better. Shortly after I entered, the big palooka appeared from above, me then rushing behind him and proceeding to attack with the bandit blade I had, which I was shocked to see be stronger than I thought. It did roughly a tenth of damage with each hit, which managed to make the big guy stagger one time per two hits! And doing this, I managed to defeat him in record time AND steal his big club, which I found was light as a feather when I picked it up and it went in my... inventory?

"Could it be that some parts of this world are like in the game?... So bizarre," I said as I saw he didn't drop the key to leave, which meant I had to explore. I went ahead and went through to the next room, me needing to deal with the archer by grabbing a pot shield and protecting myself from his attacks before then rushing to him and slashing off his head with the blade. It made me disgusted, but I knew it was either him or me. And finally, I got to the final part, that being the area where I had to bait the bastards into destroying the wall with the giant rolling boulder. I went up the stairs and then hovered myself out of harms way by thinking of flight, before then saying to stop flying and landing back to the earth. "Okay, found out how to control that..." I sighed as I then heard a voice.

"H-Help me..." I heard the voice say, me going to the location of said voice and seeing it was from the knight that rescued me... and it was a female knight? One that... looked a lot like me?

"Who are you? And why do you look like me?" I asked, her then doing a small, light-hearted chuckle.

"It's hard to describe... but I don't have time to explain... just... I need assistance..." she said, me looking at her as she then showed that she actually had the Darksign as well, and on the same hand. "It's been the same thing for ages... different versions of us... from alternate realities... all of us sent here... to finish the flame... but you? You are different..." she said, me being confused at her words. "Your magic skill... is unheard of... if anyone can manage to... beat the entire adventure... without a single death... it's you... my time is coming to an end... take these... save the Polly Pines across the... multiverse... I'm counting... on you..." she said before then dying and, immediately, turning to ashes... I then looked at the items she gave me and looked at them in surprise. One was a letter of sorts, which had a message on it. The other things were Estus Flasks, the Asylum key to leave the place, and the pendant that would allow you to talk to Quelaag's sister that was very ill...

I then proceeded to leave via the side door and read the letter.

"To: Polly Pines:

This is a very important message. You are the one destined to defeat Lord Gwyn and to link to first flame, which is the source of life for all of the dimensions, not just your own. Many have come before you, other Polly Pines that were summoned by those that had failed their journey. In order to link the first flame correctly, you'll need to do the following:

1: Meet with Crossbreed Priscilla of the Painted World of Ariamas to recieve the powers of Life Drain, which will prevent you from being burned alive when the first flame is linked once more.
2: Heal the fallen witch, Quelind, who requires 50 humanity total in order to be rid of her disease.
3: Save the Firekeeper of Firelink Shrine, so that there is a direct link to the First Flame to all areas of this world and the multiverse.
4: Convince the Dark Sun Gwyndolin to release Gwynevere from imprisonment, so that the world need never fear losing the First Flame to darkness.
5: And befriend - not slay - Great Wolf Sith, who will give you a special amulet to never fear the monsters of the abyss taking over your mind, as well as allow you to traverse back home, but only when Lord Gwyn has fallen and the flames have been linked once more.

It is a challenging set of tasks. And if you fail, then you will be stuck in this world forever, unable to return home, even after death, until one Polly Pines can reach the end. Should this happen, use the Darksign to bring another Polly to this world. Good luck, we're counting on you.

Sincerely, Gwynevere, Goddess of Sunlight." And when I'd finished reading the note, it made me so very confused... until I heard a voice in my head as I reached the cliff where the giant crow was.

"I do not expect you to believe it, young Polly. But it is the absolute truth," said the voice of Gwynevere, the same voice that could be heard from the fake at Anor Londo! And I had been grabbed by the giant crow unceremoniously and was carried through the air, me being a bit freaked out but then finding a calm when Gwynevere spoke again. "Polly Pines is the name of the Chosen Undead from the tale of Dark Souls... but sadly, in my current situation, I can't deduce the true Polly Pines to defeat Gwyn, save this world, and everyone that resides within... I beg of thee, please be the true Polly Pines that I've been needing... I can't keep this up forever," Gwynevere said, me smiling at her as I simply nodded my head as I then saw the location of the Firelink Shrine appear in front of me, before the bird then landed down and released me gently, me smirking as I then gave her a pet before she flew away.

"Thanks for being gentle with the landing, big girl," I said, her cooing a bit before then flying to the top of the shrine and for me to look to the left and see the pessimistic Crestfallen Warrior.

"Hmph, another noble warrior that wishes to go for the win, does she? How quaint," he said, me frowning at him.

"Okay, I already hate you," I said, him chuckling at that.

"That's what all the others say that wish to speak to me. But if you wish to know where to go, you must-" he was about to say before I finished for him.

"Ring the bells in the Undead Parish and in Blighttown, which will allow passage to the fortress, which will lead to Anor Londo to Princess Gwynevere," I said, him then looking at me in actual surprise before speaking, but only after a good ten seconds of silence.

"How do you know the exact tale?... None of the female clones of you have known so much... might I ask if you are more intelligent than the others?" he asked, me sighing at him.

"I don't know, to be honest. But I do know that my magic, for some bizarre reason, is strong enough to let me float from the ground like so, just by thinking about it," I said as I proved I could levitate before I then lowered myself by thinking of gravity, him smirking at me.

"The others weren't nearly as adept so early on. And most were not so confident. You might have what it takes, but then again, I don't expect the best as of late, hehe," he said as I then spoke to him.

"Well, I for one know that you end up going crazy in the future and become hollow, but only when you decide to go to New Londo to escape a bad smell," I said, him looking at me with annoyance.

"You're saying that I become hollow? Don't make me laugh," he chuckled as I then simply frowned as I thought of what to show him... I then felt my mind suddenly meld with his, and, in an instant, he gasped as he saw the outcome of what would happen should he go down the elevator... but in the process, I accidentally got a memory of him meeting with the Polly that I'd just seen in the asylum die before my eyes, and where she looked to be afraid for her life and how he only further made her scared, me being upset at that.

"I see... so you know a lot, more than I expected... you best get going, then. I'd hate to see someone with that kind of magic to be killed," he said, me frowning at him.

"Only if I can get an apology for what I saw in your mind. About you being a jerk and scaring the previous me when she was already terrified," I said, him frowning at me.

"I'm not one to apologize, sorry," he frowned.

"Pathetic," I pouted at him as I then went down the spiral hill to meet with the Ash Maiden, me seeing that she was laying on the ground with her legs broken and her looking very forlorn. "Um... hi... Are you okay, miss?" I asked, her not even responding, so I simply looked in her mind and I saw that... she had a bit of a hard time. She felt she was impure because she had sex with a dragon... wait... and her daughter was very fluffy and white? Her daughter... it was Priscilla?! And when I thought that, she gasped inaudibly before then finally looking at me with some tears of cinder coming from her eyes.

"Hey, hey, it's okay, miss. No need for tears," I said, her sighing as she then crawled her way over to me and simply held her hand out, me then smiling as I touched it... and then I heard her voice in my head.

"I know you're going to say the same thing the others have spoken... that I need not feel impure for mating with a drake... but you don't understand... the drake that I mated with... I had to protect my daughter by sending her to the Painted World... my painted world," she said, me then knowing that she was Ariamis. And just by looking into her mind one more time, I understood her feelings. Who was the one she mated with? It was Seath the Scaleless.

"I understand why you feel that way... after all, that scaleless drake has done some pretty nasty things," I said, her sniffling before then whimpering a bit.

"How doest thou look into my mind so effortlessly? Could it be that thou art different than the others?" she asked, me smiling at that.

"Yes, I am. From what I saw from that jerk at the bonfire, the previous me was very cowardly... as for me, I know everything as to what to expect. I'm only going to tell you this because of you not being up for conversations... but I have seen everything that comes into this adventure, mainly because it was some kind of... well, like an interactive game in my world," I said, her looking at me in confusion before I showed her what I meant, her then retreating her hand when she saw what I meant, but then touching me again.

"You... Is it true? It seems almost impossible... but you know everything that ye must do to save this kingdom and the multiverse surrounding it... may I ask thee for a favor," she asked, me nodding. "I know that, should you succeed, then this world will be safe once more... so, I feel that I must ask... can you attempt to heal me with magic? I wish to be able to leave this cage, but only if thou mayst give me your blade for protection," she said, me looking at the blade in question before then smiling.

"I could do so, but no guarantees if it'll work for the healing. Haven't dabbled in that yet," I admitted as I then thought of magic to heal... and when I thought of repairing her legs... I gawked at how I heard her bones magically repair, as well as me then seeing her tongue magically reappear in her mouth!

"I... My tongue has returned?..." she asked with her voice, me smiling at that. "I... still feel apprehensive about it..." she said, me sighing at that.

"And honestly, I don't blame you for a second. Seath did terrible things in his mad conquest for science and immortality... but I'm sure he was at least a nice guy whenever you made a beautiful child together, right?" I asked, her smiling at me as she then produced a key and she unlocked her cage on her lonesome, me then handing her the bandit blade with a smile.

"You think that... my Prissy is beautiful?" she asked, me nodding at that.

"Exceedingly beautiful, fluffy, and cute. In my playthroughs, I refused to lay a single hand on her. And heck, I was even working on a mod to the game where she would offer a covenant of her own, with additional voice lines," I smirked, her sighing at that.

"Yeah... she's not the most talkative... I worry that her years of isolation have made her shy and introverted... you promise to meet with her, right?" she asked, me nodding at her.

"It's on the checklist on this note that I have. Meet with Priscilla to get her powers of Life Drain, which will prevent me from getting consumed by the First Flame when I rekindle it... though now that I know you'll be safe, I must ask. How did she obtain that power?" I asked, her smiling at me.

"It is a power that comes from my family line... it only happens once every two generations, so my mother had it, and then she received it after I gave birth to her... that's the main reason I had to hide her in the Painted World. Her powers could have been greatly abused by Seath if he discovered it," she said, me nodding at her.

"Well, how about this? When I defeat Seath in battle, which is not an if, it's a when, I can go ahead and bring her back home?" I asked, that making the firekeeper gasp.

"Y-You... You'd do that for me?" she asked, me nodding, her then hugging me tightly, whcih made me smile happily as I hugged her back gently. "If you can do that, I'd forever be grateful..." she said, me smirking... all the commotion managed to get another man to look at us, it being the white magic master Petrus, who looked at us in confusion.

"What's going on here?... I thought she was silent?" Petrus asked as I smiled.

"Nothing wrong, just giving her promises, hugs, and healing," I said, him looking at me before then seeing what I wore on my hand.

"The Darksign?... You're one of them, hmm? One of the so-called "Chosen Penny's"?" he asked, me smiling at that.

"Yes, is that an issue?" I asked, him then scoffing at that.

"I have no clue why, but I've been told that each was supposed to be the chosen undead, but each have fallen before the first bell could be rung. What makes you think you'll be the one to change that?" he asked as I simply thought of lifting him off the ground and he then freaked out when he saw he was floating. "Eep! P-Put me down! Put me-" he was about to finish before I then had gravity do its job and for him to fall face-first onto the ground. "-Down... that wasn't nice," he frowned at me.

"I proved my point. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some bells to ring and I have a long route to get there," I said, him frowning and simply walking up, followed by me and the Ash Maiden before I then asked her something. "What's your name, by the way?"

"My name?... I'm Ariamis... it was through my lineage that I was able to create that magical painting," she said, me smirking at her.

"I'll get her back, Ari, don't worry," I smirked, her smirking at me before then giving me one firm handshake before I then went around and proceeded to go up the hill. I had to get creative as of now in order to get past the Undead hollow soldiers on my way to the first bell of awakening.
