Summary: Your fav. Newsies in modern times at a modern high school. Centered around Kid Blink (known as Tyler Simon at the beginning of the story) and what happens to him.
Chapter One – same old story (beginnings)
It was Tyler Simon's first day at Hail High, or Hell High as the students liked to call it. Unlike most new students, he wasn't nervous. He was used to being the new kid. His family had moved five times now on account of his fathers job as an engineer.
When Tyler stepped into the halls of Hail High he expected it to just like the last four times. The teacher would introduce him, ask him to tell the class something about himself. The students would pretend to be interested then shun him later. He knew this was the way it would be and he knew why they shunned him. He had never really fit in. He'd never really wanted to. The thing was he was, well…different. It wasn't that he didn't dress the same, in fact he wore the same clothes as the rest of the guys in his class. He even styled his blond hair in the same disheveled way. It wasn't that he was taller than average, 5'9"at age 15. No, what really made him different, what really made him stand out was the fact that he wore a brown eye patch over one of his shockingly blue eyes. He had never told anyone why he wore and never intended to.
So when he opened the door of his first period biology class he didn't expect anyone to say hi to him. He didn't even expect anyone to give him a second glance. Boy, was he in for a surprise.
