Look at that another chapter without having to wait forever! I didn't want to leave you all with that cliffhanger for too long. Hope you enjoy it!
Steve was fighting off HYDRA goons…again. Thor had returned to earth having gotten a lead on the location of Loki's sceptre and had gone to retrieve it. Now, they were in the forest surrounding a castle in Sokovia, trying to find a way in. Above them, Tony was scouting the area only to crash into the shields around the castle.
"Shit!"
"Language," Steve scolded. While he didn't mind swearing, he preferred to keep their missions free of crude language. After all, they were always being recorded and they never knew when or who would be listening to them.
"Is no one going to mention that Cap just said language?" Tony asked over the comms.
"I know," Steve flung himself over the handlebars of his motorcycle and threw it at the HYDRA goons. "It just slipped out."
"Really?" Bucky rolled his eyes. "Come on Punk," Bucky chuckled as he pulled his motorcycle up next to Steve and gestured to the back. "Let's get this over and done with."
Steve sighed and nodded as he climbed onto the back of Bucky's bike. He didn't want to be here but when Thor had shown up claiming he knew where Loki's sceptre was being held, they couldn't say no. After discussing the plan, Steve realized that he would be needed for this raid and couldn't stay home. As they drove closer to the castle, Steve could feel his magic acting up and that put him on edge. "Everyone be on their guard; I've got a bad feeling about this."
"Guys," Natasha called over the comms. "Clint's been hit!"
Across the forest, Steve was knocked off his feet by something he couldn't see. "We have an enhanced in the field."
Tony was able to get the shields down and quickly made his way into the fortress. He was able to take out the goons without issues and even found a secret door. While Jarvis downloaded all the HYDRA information, Tony went in search of what they were trying to hide.
Steve made his way into the base and found Strucker. "Baron Strucker. HYDRA's number one thug."
"Technically, I'm a thug for SHIELD."
"Well then technically you're unemployed. Where's Loki's sceptre?"
"Don't worry, I know when I'm beaten. You'll mention how I cooperated; I hope."
"I'll put it right under illegal human experimentation." Feeling the angry barely controlled magic touch his mind, Steve's magic reacted, pushing back. Bracing himself, Steve reacted by pulling his wand. "Stupify!" Spinning on his heels Steve searched for his attacker. There! In the shadows, Steve spotted a young woman trying to hide. "Stupify!" he cast again. The woman dodged, making Steve growl and shift his stance. "Petrificus Totalus!" finally hit and Steve followed it quickly with an "Incarcerous!"
Seeing that Strucker hadn't moved, Steve knocked the man out with his shield. "Guys I got Strucker." Taking a deep breath Steve went to check the woman over. The last thing he wanted was for her to be able to escape. His magic warned him of another attack coming from down the hall. Remembering the description and feeling of someone who was lightning-fast Steve aimed his wand at the floor. "Glacius." Around him, the floor turned to ice. A moment later and a body slammed into the wall beside Steve. "Incarcerous. Stupify!"
Keeping his wand trained on the two Steve radioed the others. "I have two attackers in custody and need immediate assistance."
"We'll be right there, Cap," Ironman called over the comms. "I've got eyes on the prize. Let me grab it then I'll head your way."
"Just be careful when handling it Ironman," Steve cautioned. "Don't touch it with your bare hands."
"Don't worry Cap, Phantom made sure I had the proper containment for this." Tony pulled out a tiny box that Harry had created when he found out they were going after the sceptre. As he brought the box close to the sceptre it resized and fully encased the weapon allowing Tony to carry it out without being affected by the sceptre's magic. Still, better safe than sorry so Tony didn't pick up the box until he was back into the Ironman armour.
As Tony made his way up towards the jet, Phil arrived with backup. His men took Strucker and the other goons into one jet then took the two enhanced into another. "We'll get these prisoners to NATO and those two will be taken to MACUSA. There they will be questioned by the aurors."
"Why are they being taken by MACUSA?" Bruce asked as he joined the group. He was grateful to Harry and Steve for charming his pants to resize no matter how quickly he transformed. "Shouldn't they be going to NATO as well?"
"Normally, yes," Phil nodded. "However, with their powers being mostly unknown and coming from a magical source it was suggested that MACUSA would be better at holding them and understanding their powers."
"That makes sense," Bruce nodded.
"Captain Rogers," Jarvis called out from Ironman's speakers.
"What's up, Jarvis?" Steve asked as he pulled out his earpiece to check it over. Damn, his magic had fried it.
"I need to inform you that Major Rogers went into labour six hours ago. Young Jamie was unable to reach his grandfathers and called Young Master Peter instead. Peter sent Jamie to his grandfathers' house to get them. Lord Prince and Chéad Grant are with Harry now."
Steve paled and would have collapsed if Bucky hadn't caught him. Tony rushed over and helped his husband lower Steve to the ground. "Jarvis," Tony asked when it became clear Steve was in shock. "Are Harry and the baby alright?"
"It is unclear at this moment. I would suggest that you get home as quickly as possible."
"Jarvis, get the jet started up for us," Tony quickly took charge. "Also, you'll need to get in touch with Helen Cho and see if she can come to help Barton."
"I have started the quinjet's engine and alerted Agent Romanoff, Dr. Banner, and Prince Odinson to the situation. Dr. Cho has been informed of Agent Barton's condition and is on her way from Seoul."
"Thanks, J." While Tony was talking with Jarvis, Bucky had been trying to get Steve to react with no luck. "Buck," Tony said softly. "Let's get him on the jet and get him home." Together the two men lifted Steve between them and guided him onto the jet. Once Tony was sure Bucky and Steve were settled, he headed for the pilot seat. Normally Clint or Natasha would pilot the jet, but as both were currently unable, it fell to Tony to get the jet off the ground.
As soon as they were safely in the air, Tony gave Jarvis control of the jet knowing that he wouldn't be able to focus properly. "Jarvis, is there any word on Harry?" Tony asked as he settled beside Steve. Bucky was on the man's other side supporting him.
Jarvis paused and thought about what he should tell the team. "While I have not had any direct information, Young Master Peter has his phone on him, and I can listen to what is happening."
"Can you just give us the highlights?" Tony didn't really want to think why Peter was still in the room with Harry.
Instead of using the main jet speakers, Jarvis decided it would be better to speak to his creator though his earpiece. "Harry is scared and has been asking for Steve," it showed how worried the AI was as he was not using anyone's proper titles. "Severus and Theodore have shifted Harry from the bed into a birthing chair with Peter's help. I am sorry to say, Sir, it is not sounding good for either Harry or the child."
Tony paled and looked over Steve to catch Bucky's eye, slowly shaking his head. "Severus and Theodore are with Harry and Peter, but he can only hear what's happening and there's lots of screaming and yelling." He knew from when Sarah was born that Harry was surprisingly loud.
Thor looked around the jet confused. He had only been back on Midgard for a few days, and he had clearly missed out on much in the last few years. "Is everything alright Stark?" he decided to ask Anthony as their good captain was distressed.
Shaking his head, Tony stood and gestured for Thor to follow him to the back of the jet. "So, honestly, I'm not sure where to start so I'll just go over the highlights and someone will tell you everything later. Steve's married to a wizard, Harry, and they have two children already. Harry is pregnant and not due till August. Jarvis just told us that Harry has gone into premature labour and that it doesn't sound good."
"Ah. I would offer to fly our captain there, but I believe your flying machine is faster."
"Jarvis has put everything into the thrusters," Tony made his way back over to Steve and Bucky. "We're going as fast as we possibly can."
Steve was in shock. He couldn't believe that he was stuck on the other side of the world while his Harry suffered and laboured to bring their child into the world. Every possible horrible scenario ran through his mind. Steve was sure that he was going to have to bury his husband and child when he finally arrived home.
"Hey," Bucky squeezed Steve's arm trying to get his brother to snap out of it. "Harry is strong, and the baby has to have some of your stubbornness. They will be fine."
"I don't know Buck," Steve finally spoke. "I have this terrible feeling in my chest. I thought it was just my magic reacting to those two enhanced, but now…I think it may be reacting to what Harry's going through. Tá eagla orm." (I'm scared.) Not knowing what to say, Bucky just pulled his brother into a hug.
There was nothing they could do but wait.
"Sir," Jarvis said into Tony's earpiece. "We are ten minutes from landing. I have taken the liberty of alerting Agent Hill of our impending arrival so that she may keep the area clear. I have plotted a landing on the Parade Ground of Prospect Park. Agent Hill will be meeting us with vehicles to take you, Sergeant Barnes, and Captain Rogers to Harry. Once you have disembarked, I shall take the Agents Romanoff and Barton with Dr. Banner and Prince Odinson back to the tower where Dr. Cho is waiting."
"Thanks, J. I'll let everyone know." Tony took a moment to himself. "Jarvis says we'll be landing in ten minutes. He's taking us to Prospect Park where Hill has a car waiting for the three of us. Once we're off, Jarvis will take the rest of you back to the tower where Dr. Cho is waiting."
Steve was instantly on his feet, heading for the door. Bucky quickly got up and raced after his brother. "I don't think so Punk." Bucky reached out and grabbed Steve's arm. "There is no way that you are jumping out of this jet. We are waiting for Jarvis to land the jet then we are getting into the car Hill has waiting for us."
"We're just as worried as you are," Tony added as he joined the pair. "But you jumping out of a plane and running down the street is only going to bring attention to you and led the press to your house."
Jarvis then opened the jet doors revealing a black SUV with the doors open and the driver waiting. "Look after Clint," Tony told Thor.
"Do not worry friend, Anthony. I shall take care of our team members while you look after our Captain."
"I'll have Jarvis let you all know what happens with Harry. Oh, and ask Jarvis to show you to your floor. If you need anything just ask Jarvis and he'll help out."
"Tony!" Bucky called from the SUV. "Let's go!"
Thor waved Tony off, knowing that their mission was time sensitive. "I'm coming!" Tony raced off the jet and jumped into the vehicle beside Bucky.
"I have been told only to slow down the vehicle so that you may get out then continue driving," the driver told them.
"Thank you," Tony told them.
Thankfully the drive wasn't long, and the driver slowed down a few houses down from Steve's. "This is where I was told to let you out."
None of them bothered to say anything, instead, the three men opened their doors and stepped out of the moving vehicle. They made their way to the house. Lucius was in the living room with the kids watching the TV.
"Daddy!" Jamie raced over tackling Steve. "You're here! You're here! I was so scared. Mummy's not doing good."
Steve held Jamie close and accepted Sarah from Lucius. "How are you doing mo mhilis?" (My Sweet)
"Da!" Sarah reached up and patted Steve's cheek. "Ma?"
"Ma's not doing so good right now mo mhilis. If you and your brother can stay down here with Grandpa and your uncles, I'll go and make sure Ma is okay." Sarah studied her Da for a moment then nodded, allowing him to put her and her brother down. "Thank you mo mhilis. Keep an eye on your uncles for me. Is breá liom tú." (I love you.) putting both kids down, Steve kissed them both before heading upstairs.
Standing outside his bedroom door, Steve froze. He needed to go in and see Harry and their baby, but part of him was terrified of what was on the other side of that door. He must have made a sound because a moment later his grandfather's voice was calling out through the door. "Stephen, come in already."
Taking a deep breath Steve opened the door and stepped inside. Catching sight of the sheets, Steve paled. Their white sheets were a deep blood red. Oh, Merlin. Please let them be alright. Trembling he slowly made his way over to the bed where a pale Harry was laying. His husband was as white as their sheets used to be.
Seeing his grandson's reaction Theodore reached out, squeezing the man's shoulder. "Hadrian will be fine. He has lost a significant amount of blood, but we have given him blood replenishers and I am keeping an eye on his levels. If it is required, I shall give him a transfusion. He will be weak for quite a while and will need a significant amount of help." Theodore gave his grandson a gentle push towards the bed.
Reaching out, Steve gently took Harry's hand in his own not caring about the tears streaming down his face. "Wha…what about…" Steve couldn't bring himself to ask about their child, he was so scared.
Severus rolled over a clear box with a tiny bundle inside. "Your daughter is doing as well as can be expected. She is under several monitoring charms. They check her oxygen and blood levels, along with her temperature, diaper, and stomach. The last thing we want is for her to spend her energy crying. We'll add you to the diaper and bottle charms so you can help. Just remember that you must wash your hands then use a disinfecting charm on them."
Steve couldn't take his eyes off the box keeping his daughter alive. "Can…can I hold her, or does she need to stay in there?"
Severus smiled and nodded. "It is encouraged for both of you to hold her. It is best if you have skin-to-skin contact when holding her." Nodding his head Steve reluctantly let go of Harry's hand so he could quickly remove his shirt with one hand while pulling his wand with the other. Once his shirt was removed, Steve cast a disinfecting charm on himself. "May I present your daughter," Severus held out the small bundle. "You can remove the blanket to place her directly on your chest, then cover her back up. She will be unable to keep warm without help."
Accepting his daughter Steve smiled and felt his magic relax, just a little. "Thank you, Severus." Once he had his daughter properly settled against his chest and covered, Steve turned to Peter. "Peter, thank you, for coming and helping. I'm sure you have many questions and I promise we will answer them. If you want Tony and Bucky are downstairs, I'm sure they are worried about you."
Peter had been standing in the background watching everyone. It had been terrifying watching Harry struggle to bring his daughter into the world. Peter was sure that he had never seen so much blood before. Hearing Steve call out to him startled Peter out of his thoughts. "I'm glad Harry and the baby are okay," Peter smiled at them. He honestly had grown to like the Avengers, especially Harry.
Giving the unconscious man another look, Peter left the room. As he made his way downstairs, Peter noticed strange things. Some of the pictures on the walls were moving!
"It's rather shocking, isn't it?" Bucky asked quietly not wanting to startle the teen. "Seeing them move like that."
"Why do they move?" Peter accepted the comforting arm Bucky placed over his shoulders.
"Magic," Bucky steered Peter towards the living room. "This is a highly controlled secret, and we probably shouldn't be telling you, but…magic is real. Harry and Steve are both wizards. Luc, Sev, and Draco are also wizards as are the munchkins. All the avengers know, but you can't tell anyone else. We can try to answer any questions you have and if we can't then we can find someone who can."
"That's a lot to take in."
Laughing, Bucky nodded, "yeah it really is. Feel free to talk with Tony about this as well. He's had the same problems."
In the living room, Tony was sitting on the couch with Sarah cuddled up in his lap while Jamie was snuggled into his side. Seeing Peter and Bucky, Tony shifted Sarah so he could hold his arm out in invitation. Peter didn't need the push from Bucky to accept the invite, he quickly headed over to the couch and cuddled into Tony's other side.
Pulling out his phone, Bucky snapped a quick picture and then headed for the stairs after a nod from his husband. When he reached the master bedroom, Bucky knocked gently not wanting to startle anyone. Theodore opened the door a moment later with a tired smile. "How are they?" Bucky asked.
"Alive," Theodore stepped aside to let James in. "Hadrian is still unconscious, but he should come around soon. He lost a significant amount of blood but nothing that can not be corrected. Hadrian will continue to be on bed rest for a few more days."
"And my godchild?"
Theodore and Steve laughed. "A bit presumptive don't you think Jerk?" Steve asked as he twisted to look at his brother. Bucky just raised his eyebrow. "She's alright, but she's going to need a lot of care."
Bucky made his way over to the bed so he could get a better look at his goddaughter resting on Steve's chest. "Have you guys named her yet?"
"Iris," Harry rasped out, slowing coming back to consciousness.
"Harry!" both men cried out. Bucky moved around to the other side of the bed so he could help Harry sit up. "How you feeling Brat?"
"Ugh," Harry groaned and leaned into his brother. "Like I was run over by a herd of hippogriffs." Seeing Steve with their daughter, Harry smiled and relaxed even more. "Is she doing alright?"
"I think so," Steve admitted, looking down at the tiny being. "Sev and granddad put some charms on her to warn us if she's hungry or needs to be changed. They also have some to alert us if she gets too cold. Did you want to hold her?"
Harry looked longingly at his daughter but shook his head. "While I would love to, I don't think I have the strength."
"Do you think you have the strength to have some more company?" Bucky asked gently. "I know the kids are anxious to see you as is Tony."
Slowly, Harry nodded. "They can come up but not for long."
"I'll go and get them," Bucky leaned over and gave Harry a kiss on the head before heading back downstairs.
Seeing his husband Tony perked up, "how's it going up there?"
"Why don't you come up and find out?" Bucky reached down and took Sarah off Tony's chest. "Come on, let's go and see your mom. Just remember that your mom isn't feeling good, so you have to be very gentle with him."
"What about the baby?" Jamie asked. He was holding onto Tony's hand, looking scared.
"Your little sister is doing okay," Bucky quickly reassured them. "She came early so we gotta be extremely careful with her. You won't be able to hold her yet." After knocking gently, Bucky opened the door to the master bedroom, allowing Tony and Jamie to enter first. Bucky took Sarah around the bed so she could see her mom.
"Ma!" Sarah cried out and reached for Harry. Moving gently, Bucky sat on the bed next to Harry, allowing Sarah to hold her mom's hand while still sitting on Bucky's lap.
"Hi Sweetie," Harry said softly as he took Sarah's hand. "You being good? What about you Jamie?" Harry turned his head to look at his son. "How are you holding up?"
The look Jamie gave his mom was identical to one his father had, saying 'are you kidding me?' all four adults laughed. "I'm fine Ma. What about you and…?" Jamie looked at his baby sister, realizing that no one had told him her name.
"Iris," Steve said shifting so Jamie could see his sister better. "Though we don't seem to have a middle name yet. Any suggestions?"
"What about Áine?" (Pronounced Awn-ya) Jamie suggested quietly. He couldn't take his eyes off the tiny form of his sister.
While Tony looked confused, the other men all smiled. Theodore nodded as he ruffled the boy's hair. "The goddess of summer and one of the queens of Connacht."
"That's a wonderful idea, Jamie," Harry smiled at his son. "Iris Áine Rogers. I like it."
"Your Ma's right Mo stóirín," Steve pulled Jamie close with his free arm. "It's a wonderful name." Jamie beamed up at his Da and cuddled closer. Closing his eyes Steve held two of his children close, thanking Merlin and whatever gods were listening for looking after Harry and Iris. Maybe it was time to consider the idea that had been going through his mind lately.
"She's cute," Tony said after a while. "I'm glad you're both alright. You let me know if you need anything."
"Will you be Iris' other godfather?" Harry asked. "I know Steve is going to ask Bucky…or well Bucky has assumed." The men laughed.
Tony reached out for Harry's free hand, "of course, I'm honoured."
"Come on, all of you," Steve slowly got up and gently pushed Jamie off the bed. "Your Ma and sister need to rest. Give your Ma and hug and kiss then we'll head down and see about dinner." As gently as he could Steve wrapped Iris back up and placed her into the special crib and made sure the monitoring spells were in place.
Once Iris was safely in her crib, Steve headed back to the bed and picked up Sarah. "Here Tony, take this for me." Laughing, Tony accepted the giggling little girl. "Is breá liom tú, mo chroí daor." (I love you, my dear heart.) "I'll come and check on you in a bit. Come on, Jamie, let's go check on your Granddad." Picking Jamie up, Steve led the way out of his bedroom and back down to the living room.
Lucius had already called and ordered food for them all. The six men, two kids, and one teenager sat around the table in comfortable silence as they ate. After dinner, Tony and Bucky cleaned the kitchen while Steve cuddled with Jamie and Sarah on the couch.
Peter wandered around the living room feeling a little lost and overwhelmed. All the photos were moving, the people in them waving and smiling at him. Other trinkets were floating in place. Magic seemed neat, but he wasn't too sure about it. On top of it all, he was feeling out of place. Everyone here was part of a close family, but Peter still hadn't found his place.
"We are going to head home," Severus said reaching down to pick up Sarah and give her a kiss. "If you need anything or something happens call for Twig. We'll be back first thing in the morning." Passing Sarah over to Lucius, Severus reached for Jamie. "You be good and help your dad out okay."
"Okay," Jamie gave both his grandfathers a hug. His Seanathair was spending the night here to keep an eye on his mom and little sister. Steve walked the two men to the door before collapsing into a chair.
Theodore had to bite his lip to stop himself from scolding his grandson. "Thank you, for your help today, Peter. I don't think we could have moved Harry without your help." Peter blushed and tried to brush it off.
"Peter," Tony called out to the teen. "Come and join us. I know you have questions about magic." Looking at Tony, Peter thought for a minute before shrugging and sitting next to the man. He wasn't expecting Tony to pull him in, so that Peter was snuggled into the man's side. Jamie rejoined them on the couch, cuddling into Tony's other side. Bucky took Sarah off Tony's chest and settled down with the little girl on the nearby chair. "Okay," Tony nudged Peter. "Ask away."
"So, magic is real?"
"Very much so," Tony agreed.
"And is that how Harry got pregnant?"
The three men chuckled, and Tony nodded. "Can't pull the wool over your eyes, can we?"
Steve smiled at the teen, "magic needs to be kept a secret which is why we came up with the story of Harry being experimented on by HYDRA. Technically, we shouldn't be telling you about magic."
"Indeed," Theodore agreed. "However, with you being fostered by Anthony and James, and with my Steven and Hadrian standing for you, you can be brought in on the secret."
"Are there a lot of magical people?"
The three younger men looked at Theodore. "No. The magical population is under ten percent of the entire world's population." Theodore paused and glanced away, seemingly distracted. "Excuse me," getting up Theodore headed for the stairs.
Peter looked at the three men before daring to ask another question. "Is there anything magic can't do?"
Steve shrugged, "that's a bit of a hard question. There are lots of thing's magic can do, but there are limits. Like science, people are working on expanding those limits. Magicals just have different limits than science."
"Can you show me something?" Chuckling, Steve stood and shook himself into his animagus form. Seeing the dog where Steve had been Peter blinked and looked at Bucky who laughed and shrugged. "Huh. That's new."
Later that night, after the kids had gone to bed and Steve had checked on Harry, the three men sat in the living room silently. Tony had kept in touch with Natasha, wanting to make sure the rest of the team was doing alright. "I have bad news," he said while taking a swig of his coke. "Dr. Cho met the team at the tower and was able to heal Barton. He's going to be fine."
"That's terrible," Bucky joked. Across from them Steve just rolled his eyes.
"All jokes aside," Tony suddenly got serious. "I was thinking that if you and Harry wanted you can move into the tower. I have everything Harry could need, and I can get everything Iris will need."
Steve smiled and nodded, "thank you, Tony. If it were purely up to me then I would say yes, but I need to talk with Harry."
"I get it," Tony reassured Steve. "The offer stands, no expiry date, and you can bring the dogs."
Shaking his head, Steve stood and headed for his room, knowing that both Tony and Bucky would find their way to the guest bedroom. Moving silently Steve entered the room, not wanting to wake Harry or Iris if they were sleeping. Not hearing anything, Steve headed for the crib first, needing to make sure his daughter was okay. Reaching in he gently ran a finger down her cheek.
When he was certain that she was still alright, Steve undressed and climbed into bed. As soon as he was settled, Harry snuggled into his side. "I was thinking," Harry started.
"That's dangerous," Steve teased.
Harry just ignored his husband and continued. "I was thinking, with Iris needing so much help and me still on bedrest maybe…maybe we should move into the tower. I know Tony either has the equipment for her or he'll get it."
"There will also be more people around to help out when we need it," Steve added. "Tony just asked me if we wanted to move into the tower. I'm sure he'll have every possible piece of equipment Iris could possibly need by tomorrow afternoon."
"You'll tell him in the morning?"
"Of course. I'll let Granddad know then get Mist and Twig to help pack." Steve kissed Harry's head and pulled the blankets up a little higher. "Sleep Mo grá. I'll get up with Iris."
Steve woke the next morning when the wards around Iris' crib went off again. Groaning, he pushed himself up, cast a disinfecting spell on himself, and accepted the bottle Mist passed him. As gently as he could, Steve picked up Iris then settled into the rocking chair to feed her.
"Jarvis," he whispered quietly knowing that Jarvis was on Harry's phone.
"What can I do for you Captain?" Jarvis said just as quietly.
"Can you send a message to Sam for me? Ask him to call me when he has some free time."
"Of course, Captain." A few minutes later Jarvis spoke again. "Captain, Master Sergeant Wilson is wanting to call you immediately. I suggested he wait as you are currently with Miss. Iris."
"Thanks, Jarvis. Tell Sam I'll call him in a couple of minutes." Steve got up slowly and placed Iris back into her crib. When he was sure she was doing okay, Steve grabbed his phone and headed downstairs. In the kitchen Steve started the coffee then called Sam. He was glad that he had kept in touch with the ex-airman. Sam was good people and had helped on a few smaller Avenger call outs.
"Steve! Man, what the hell? I get a message from Stark's AI saying you need to talk to me and that it sounded urgent."
Steve sighed and rubbed his face. "Sorry about that, Jarvis can be a bit of a worry wart. I asked him to message you as I didn't want to just call to early and my hands were full."
"Do I want to know what they were full of?" Sam asked with a laugh.
Shaking his head, Steve quickly took a picture of Iris and sent it to Sam. "Harry went into labour yesterday. I have a daughter, Iris Áine Rogers."
"You make cute kids' man. Is she doing, okay? I mean she wasn't due for nearly another month."
"Both she and Harry are doing fine. Iris is going to need some extra medical attention, but all our doctors are confident that she'll be fine in the long run."
"That's good. I'm happy for you but I get the feeling that you didn't just call me to gloat about having another too cute kid."
"You're right, I didn't. Would you be able and willing to come to New York? I need to talk to you about something, but I don't want to do it over the phone."
The line was quiet for a few moments. "Yeah, I can do that. I can't come today but I should be able to get some time off and book a ticket for tomorrow, maybe the day after."
"I can ask Tony if he'll send a jet for you. Save you the hassle of flying commercial."
"Your world is crazy, you know that."
Steve laughed, "Sam you have no idea. I'll talk to Tony then get back to you about the jet."
"Yeah, yeah. You look after Harry and those kiddos, and I'll see you tomorrow."
"So, the other birdbrain needs transporting," Tony said from behind Steve making the other man jump.
"Merlin, Tony! How the hell did you sneak up on me?"
Tony shrugged and poured himself a cup of coffee. "You were distracted lending out my jet. Jarvis is already on it by the way. Didn't even bother asking me, the traitor."
"Thanks, Tony. Oh, Harry and I talked last night, and we both agreed that it would be best if we move into the tower. Though," Steve quickly added before Tony could vanish and make everything happen. "We do want to keep the house and leave some things here." Tony just waved him off and left the kitchen reaching for his phone. Steve just sighed and started cooking breakfast.
Yes, I kind of skipped over the whole Ultron thing, but I figure with all the magical protections Harry and the others would have put on the tower the stone wouldn't have the chance to take over. As I'm not a fan of Wanda, I don't expect her or Pedio to show up in the story. Assume that they are questioned and then given help to understand their powers and they live happy lives in the magical world.
Don't expect another chapter for a while lol. But once again I'm open to suggestions/ideas.
