Disclaimer: neither of these amazing characters was created by me. Both are the work of the wonderful J.K.Rowling
James and Lily walked side
by side into the night, going no where in particular. James carefully
moved his hand towards lily and enlaced them between hers. To his
small surprise, she didn't pull back, but just kept walking with
her head turned away from him. He steered them towards the pond that
was lit up by the moon and the stars in the sky. It was almost summer
and the night was warm and fire flies and frogs croaking filled the
air. They stopped at the waters edge. The two just stood there for a
few moments, each thinking their own thoughts. After awhile Lily
turned back to James and quietly asked "James, what do you think
will become of us after we graduate?" James thought a second and
then answered "Well, you and I will of course get married… hey!
Ouch!" Lily had kicked him, though she had a small grin on her
face. "I'm serious James," she said.
"As am I,
silly."
"Are we ever going to see each other? I mean, sure we
will, but definitely not as often. Because, well, you live in one
place and I live in another and-" James put his finger up to her
mouth to quiet her ranting.
"Relax, Lilykins. We'll see each
other every day. I'll write you and I'll apparate in every once
in awhile to just say hi. I'm not going to lose all contact with
you. My God, no."
Lily turned her eyes back to the water. "I'll
miss you…" She whispered.
James turned and reached for her
other hand. He was now standing in front of her, staring directly
into her green eyes. Her eyes that were reflecting the moon. He felt
his knees go weak as he began to speak. "Lily, I'll miss you more
than anything in this whole bloody world. Because Lily… I love
you…" and he bent down to place his lips against hers. Slowly
Lily gave in to his kiss and the two of them pulled each other close,
staying like that for what seemed like hours. When they finally
separated, Lily looked up at James and spoke the loudest she had all
night, "I love you too, James".
Just
for that moment time stood still.
Nothing
mattered but the thrill of things to come
and never knowing where
your going
A little nervous and out of practice,
sweaty
palms
and an awkward
silence
You
pulled me closer for a kiss and I'm so scared to feel like
this.
Can't
stop my hands from shaking
I won't blink cause I might miss
and I've
waited way too long for this.
The
perfect words at the perfect time.
The perfect song with the
perfect rhyme
compose the soundtrack to our night.
Are you
listening?
Tonight the world will wait for us to say it's okay
to move again.
The stars will have to find another sky to shed
some light
cause this
is our time to shine.
Is
there some place we could go to be alone?
One last thing before
you go.
A little song to let you know
that I never wanted to be
anything but everything to you my dear
But I spoke too soft for
you to hear me say,
"I wish that I could stay."
And
though it's our last night,
let's make it a lifetime before the
sun comes up again.
I know this is goodbye.
I promise I won't
cry if you promise you won't forget
