That afternoon, Amber and the Traveller arrived in the city of Mondstadt, with little fanfare.
Well, besides the dragon attack. After dealing with that thanks to the help of a 'mysterious voice' (which was clearly the Anemo Archon), they made their way to the Knights of Favonius for a full introduction. There was little activity in the city streets, as most were still sheltering from the harsh winds and draconic wrath. Along the way however, they did meet someone in particular, already working on cleaning up the wind-swept mess.
"Good morning, Outrider Amber! Oh, who's this?"
The Traveller, who was under the control of Lumine at the moment, cast her gaze on the short-haired, armored girl in front of them. She seemed to be dressed like a maid, with a broom in hand and a sack slung over her shoulder.
She was also incredibly cute.
"Hello Noelle, this is the Traveller! She's responsible for fending off Stormterror's attack!"
"Oh, goodness! That's amazing!" Noelle's lush, green eyes were wide as she looked at the Traveller, who was wearing a confident smirk.
Lumine held out her hand, her smirk shifting to a grin filled with reassurance.
"Hello Noelle, it's nice to meet you." The two shook hands. "I take it you're one of the brave Knights of Favonius, like Amber here?"
"Ah, I'm not, unfortunately, but I hope to be one soon!" The silver-haired girl declared with infectious enthusiasm.
Lumine placed a hand on her shoulder. "Well, with your assiduous attitude, I'm sure you'll be one in no time," she said with a wink.
The maid looked momentarily confused, before the expression was replaced with a blush.
"T-thank you, Traveller…" She spoke timidly.
Lumine nodded at her, before looking at Amber. The Outrider had a strange look on her face, which disappeared with a shake of her head.
(Hmm. Wonder if she's the y-type.)
[Oh I really hope the first person you've sunk your teeth into isn't one of them.]
Outwardly, Lumine smiled and waved goodbye to Noelle, while inwardly she shrugged.
(They can still be useful, if you know how to deal with them correctly.)
[I've never been able to…]
Aether would have shuddered if he could, recalling distant memories that he'd rather forget.
(Well lucky for you, I'll teach you how.)
The two continued making their way to the headquarters building, walking much closer together than they had before.
The Traveller deftly maneuvered her arm into Amber's, causing her to shoot Lumine a quick look, before turning her head away in order to hide her reddening cheeks.
The cheeks on her face, obviously.
Lumine patted her arm, speaking softly. "I couldn't have asked for a better guide, Outrider."
"D-don't mention it…" The brunette uttered, still looking the other way.
At some point, they also met a blue-haired pirate, who accompanied them after some light snark.
"My name is Kaeya, and I'm a Knight Captain, by the way." The tall, tanned man commanted, after fixing her with a look that was somewhat: icy, cool, chilly, wintery, frosty, arctic, bris–
(He looks like he'd be fun to fool around with; not exactly my type, but…)
[Please no]
(Ehehe, fear not brother. I'll stick with your preferences while you're stuck with me.)
[Thank you, gracious Lumine.]
(Anything for my favorite brother.)
[Right…]
A short while later, they were standing in the office of the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius of Mondstadt, which was occupied by Acting Grand Master Jean, and Lisa.
Lisa was the librarian.
"Good to meet you, Traveller," greeted the tall, strikingly beautiful blonde in tights.
[Those pants should be illegal.]
(Ah, but then she wouldn't be wearing them, and we'd be missing out on such a… Great view.)
"Oh my, she's adorable!" Exclaimed Lisa, who's luminous green eyes contrasted brightly against her alluring purple attire. Even Aether found himself captivated by the ravishing librarian, forcing himself to focus on her eyes.
His sister had no such qualms about where her own gaze wandered.
(Nice tits. I rate them… 8.5 out of ten.)
[Lumine!]
"Not only that, she's amazing at fighting, too!" Amber declared, before blushing as she realized what she'd agreed to.
"Also a fighter at such a young age! Oh, we don't deserve a cutie like you," the librarian finished with a wink, which seemed to make the room a few degrees hotter.
(Oh, I can't wait to show you just how 'young' I really am.)
[How are we even related]
After the introductions were out of the way, Amber immediately began heaping praise on the Traveller for their performance in the Stormterror attack. The more she went on, the closer it came to sounding as if they'd saved all of Teyvat.
[Should we feel bad? I mean, this time we barely ev-]
(Nah.)
Finally, Acting Grand Master Jean put a stop to it, holding up her hand.
"That's great Amber, but now we need to figure out how to move on from here."
"Yes, Stormterror's attack is over now, but we need to deal with him in a more permanent manner." Said the tall guy.
(Mom Jeans.)
[What?]
(That's her name. Just Jean is boooring.)
[… I've been with you longer than I can remember, and yet you still somehow manage to confuse me.]
(Good.)
While the twins were talking to themselves, the conversation in the office had turned towards them. Lumine blinked, feeling the waiting stares of four different people.
"Well, cutie? Do you think you can lend us your expertise?"
[Don't do it sis…]
"Yes mommy."
"…Oh my…" Lisa let out a soft gasp, covering her mouth with a delicate gloved hand.
Jean's eyebrows were threatening to reach escape velocity, while Amber was staring at the Traveller with a dumbfounded expression.
Kaeya was just standing there.
"What, aren't I allowed to tease back?" Lumine asked with mock innocence.
"Are you sure you're old enough for that kind of behavior, sweetie?"
Lumine turned her charm up to 40 percent as she answered, finishing with a wink. "Honey, trust me… I'm more than old enough to have a good time."
"Mmmh…" Lisa hummed as she crossed her arms over her chest, biting the tip of her bottom lip.
The Acting Grand Master sighed, shaking her head slightly.
"The two of you can settle… Whatever that is later. We have more important matters at hand," she urged, her voice coming out rather strained. The others agreed, with varying degrees of reluctance, and the topic was steered back to the important matters at hand.
Whilst everyone else was discussing how to deal with the dragon or whatever, Lumine was lost in thought, weighing her own options.
(I think I'll let Amber bubble up until she makes the first move.)
[… Why?]
(Hehe, they tend to be a lot more… Passionate that way.)
[… I see.]
(Hmm… I'll save Mom Jeans for later. For your introduction, I think it'd be better for someone who will take the reins.)
[What did I ever do to deserve this?]
(I think what you meant to say, brother mine, is what did you ever do to deserve such a loving, caring big sister?)
[… Of course.]
"... So that's what we'll have to do. Well, would you be agreeable to help us, Traveller?"
Lumine snapped back into reality, feeling everyone's waiting, somewhat hungry eyes on her.
"If you need my help, then of course, Master Jean."
Jean coughed into her fist. "It's Acting Grand Master, Traveller."
"Of course."
"Don't be such a stick in the mud, Jean. Surely someone who's already helped Mondstadt so much and is eager to do even more, can call you by name?" Lisa remarked, the sultry lilt in her voice almost physically tangible with its sheer strength.
"... Fine, you can just call me Jean." The knight in tights said tiredly.
Lumine smiled, a million unhatched schemes brimming beneath her golden eyes.
"Just Jean, then."
[Oh please no]
"I must say, you're… Not what I would have expected." Kaeya said, observing her as if she were a particularly interesting stage play.
"She may be a little… Different, but she's got it where it counts!" Amber declared in her defense, her vivacious innocence as appealing as the sweetest dessert to Lumine.
"Indeed I do," the Traveller agreed, meeting everyone's eyes. "Sorry, I just gotta ask…"
"Is it normal for all vison holders to be out of this world beautiful?"
[Subtle as always.]
Kaeya scoffed. "That's ironic coming from you, the person who literally looks like an angel," he muttered.
"You're damn right about that," Jean agreed robotically, before she covered her mouth with her hand, apparently surprised that she'd spoken out loud.
Amber suddenly clapped her hands together. "Well, we'd better head out on our assignments, shouldn't we?" She said, giving Jean a pointed look that was just shy of shouting.
The AGM cleared her throat. "Yes, let's get going." She followed Kaeya out of the office, the door swinging closed behind them automatically.
Lisa strut forward, her hips swaying like a charmed snake, before leaning over to whisper into the Traveller's ear.
"You keep behaving like that, cutie, and mommy's going to have to discipline you."
Lumine smirked, reaching her arm around the larger woman's waist, pulling her even closer with a sudden gasp. The Traveller's voice was quiet and thick, sifting through the air like maple syrup.
"Oh, I've been a very bad girl. I think… Later tonight, you'd better give me some punishment, yes?"
The librarian's vibrant eyes were wide and dilated, her cheeks dusted pink as she tried to keep herself still, held in the blonde's warm embrace.
"Yes… Yes, you can count on that, my… little angel."
Lumine grinned, stepping away.
Lisa almost lost her balance; she took a few deep breaths, before composing herself and slowly walking out of the room.
The Traveller turned to the only other person still in the room, who'd seen it all: Amber, who was standing there with her mouth hanging open.
Giggling to herself, Lumine slid over to the dumbstruck girl, who's eyes were glassy and unfocused.
Before Amber could react, she stuck her finger into her mouth, resting on the tongue inside as the archer's lips closed around it automatically.
"Mmmhp?!"
"Hehe, you're so cute Amber." Lumine pulled her finger out slowly, letting a small bead of saliva dribble down onto the Outrider's chin and cleavage.
"Y–you–you!"
"Me?"
"Y-you're a shameless flirt!" Amber stammered, her cheeks as red as her clothing.
"You know you like it~"
"Y–ugh, I'll see you!" The flustered brunette fled from the room, leaving Lumine alone in the office, bemused as she tasted her finger.
[That's kind of gross.]
(Uh, you know I wash my hands frequently?)
[Still…]
(Ugh, you have no sense of passion.)
[And you have no sense of propriety.]
(Oh that's it, you're definitely in for it tonight.)
[No–wait! Lum, I'm sorr-]
(Too late!)
Needless to say, that night was quite the learning experience for Aether.
