Vee gasped as Masha embraced her. Even after she confessed everything and showed her who she really was, Masha didn't care.
"You- you're not angry?" Vee asked.
"A little, but I can understand why you did it." Masha replied.
"You're not going to tell anyone about this, are you?"
"What? Of course not! If anyone found out… I would try not to think about that if I were you. Then again, if I were you, I would turn into… I don't even know! How does it work?"
"Well… I don't know how to explain it but… I dunno, but It's like I can see someone and know what they look like afterwards, then I just imagine what they look like and transform." Vee said as she turned into her human form. "But I can't do it all the time because I need-"
"Magic. That's why you came to me asking for the cards a few months ago. Wait, does that mean my cards have real magic in them?"
"Yeah, they do. They were brought from the Boiling Isles by a witch named Eda."
"Wait, Boiling Isles? What's that? Luz mentioned that in the video of you at the abandoned house. Is that where you are from? Follow up question, why was she in a mirror? Also, I don't mean to be rude, but what are you?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Slow down! I just confessed my life story, give me a minute." said Vee as she got up and walked to the kitchen. A minute later, she came back with a glass of water in her hand. "Okay, first question. Hit me."
"Mmh… what's your favorite color?"
"What? You're not going to ask about magic, or the Boiling Isles or… just what is my favorite color?"
"Well, yeah. I figured since you're so stressed, I might start off easy. Well, what is it?"
"...Blue." Vee replied, blushing. "I'm okay now, come on. Ask me an actual question."
"Fine. What are you? Jacob Hopkins said that you are a demon from Mars, but I doubt that is true."
"He got the first part right, but I'm not from Mars." Vee noticed Masha's eyes go wide. "Waitwaitwait! Not that kind of demon. I'm not an evil being from a lake of fire. It's just what we call ourselves. We are basically just creatures. Like you. Your word for it might be related to animal but… not dumb. How do I put this… think mermaids."
"A magical creature. That's what we would call them, mermaids, fairies, unicorns. Mythical or magical creatures."
"Fairies? Those are real, we have them in the Boiling Isles." said Vee.
"Oh… so what's the Boiling Isles?" asked Masha.
"It's another world, the Demon Realm. That's where I'm from. And where Luz and Camila are."
"Why are they there?"
"Luz got stuck in the Demon Realm but came back a few months ago with a few friends. According to them, some ancient evil has been unleashed. Their friends and family were in danger. We were trying to find a way back and we did. That's why I was at an old graveyard late last night. They had just left. I decided to stay behind to hold up the fort here but… that didn't go too well. I got caught within the first day."
"Don't say that. The only reason I found out was because of very specific circumstances. You survived half a year and only two people know about you. And one of them is on your side. I can help you."
"Really? Oh thank you!" This time it was Vee who hugged Masha.
"Anything for a friend. There is a problem though."
"What is it?" asked Vee.
"Jacob knows I came to you. He warned me about things I might find. I was right but I also showed him the footage. He knows more about you than before. If anyone is going to look into you, It's going to be him. Especially now that Mrs. Noceda isn't here to help you."
"Greaaaat… That is just what I need right now." said Vee, sarcastically. "Wait, do you hear that? I hear a buzz, or something." They looked out the window and saw a drone outside. The drone immediately flew off. "Was he spying on us!?"
"Maybe I should talk to him, try to get him to leave you alone." suggested Vee.
"No! He is super dangerous. He's not stable. Stay away from him."
"I have to. He knows I'm on your side now. If I don't talk to him and change his mind now, he might come after both of us in the future."
