Chapter 4: faking forced marrige
Normal POV
A moment later the elf and the pixie prince were sitting on the couch in his home, talking like it had never been diffrent. Maxine didn't minded that he was acting so familliar with her, but she did get bothered by the fact that the servants who came in and out with things for them, kept looking at her, or... at her ears to be precise... because they were long and pointy, unlike those of the pixies...
"I... I could put on my fake ears again... You know who I am now... and It seemes your loyal...subjects... are bothered by the fact that i'm a elf..."
Maxine stammed after a while of undergoing this for a while, feeling like she was a intruder, even do she wasn't... she was a guest here... she should feel welcome in the castle... not like a intruder who came here to steal something... that time was behind her now...
"No, you don't have to, they will have to get used to the fact that your here"
He said while he looked at one of the servants annoyed, before he turned to her looking at her hand with a raised eyebrown, since she wasn't wearing the ring he got her as gypsy gyps anymore...
"Rex... took it from me... when we got home..."
Maxine said, looking at him with a sad look, knowing why he had been looking at her fingers all full well..
"well, my cherie, he won't be again, for from this moment on, your to be my wife"
he smiled placing a new ring on my finger and again used his magic staff to make it golden, this time with a purple emerald in the middle... thesame collor as my hair... meaning this time the ring was meant for the real maxine... not gypsy gyps but maxine... the real maxine...
"but... what about the pixies... I mean the law says we can't..."
Maxine stammed as she looked at the man she loved with a stunned look on her face. Arsenio looked at her with a stunned look, since he had almost forgotten about the rules.. Before he launched.
"wow, thats the first time I hear a elf say she wants to obey the rules…."
he smirked at me teasing.
"Oo shut up! We can obey the rules just as match as you pixies can break them…. If its for the greater good…."
Maxine remarked as she smiled at him. Arsenio smiled at this and placed a hand on the elfs knee... making maxine look at him with a smile on her face...
"Were all connected to each other
Good and bad... jing and yang
So if we wanne be together... we should take that chance...
Arsenio sang as the camera cut to the streets were elfs were pestering pixies and gnomes... switching to a sight of floxy and yucca walking over the sidewalk watching it happen not intending to either help the elves nor the pixies and gnomes side... Since they believed that they were all connected as well and shouldn't be fighting…
Giving one another chance its hard t try

Maxine sang... gently taking his hands in hers... gently rubbing over her golden ring indicating she was all his now... For her it was all clear now… she belonged with him… not because she wanted to use him for a evil plan… but because she loved him… really loved him…

A bond so strong... do were so difrrent...

With that the song ended and the camera zoomed in on a jelous looking Rex who was peeking at them throught the window... while Femke next to him was looking at them with a gentle smile... liking how this was going... how Maxine was starting to change already...
"We"ll let it look like its forced marrige... as a punishment for you faking to be me wife... me wie?"
Arsenio asked Maxine as the two of them were with their faces two inches away from each other at the end of the song...
"Sounds good... your lucky with that one... from the six of us... seven if you count Femke as well... i'm the best actress... "
Maxine said with a smirk... and it was the truth... she and Rex always did the word when they were pretending to be someone else in a sceme... since Narcissa's voice would be record-iced easily even if she would fake another voice and Floxy and Lenny wouldn't be able to stop themselves from making a dumb remark which always got them caught in some way...
"Lucky me wie then that i chose you..."
Arsenio smirked as he clapped his hands, after which the whole staff stood before him...
"Everyone... This is Maxine... she is me amore... she will be the one i marry... so make her feel at home... "
Arsenio ordered.. at which everyone nodded... do they didnt seemed to pleased that their master had chosen a elf to be his wife...
"Thats all... Margreta... you and Flinkie can help Maxine wash up and get dressed... the rest of you is gonna help mie orginize the wedding... dismissed"
Arsenio said clapping his hands... and in no time everyone was gone... getting back to his ore her work... while the two pixies that were called Margreta and Flinkie helped Maxine wash up.. thankfully Femke had helped her get over her water fobia a few weeks ago so she didnt put up a struggle... to the pleasure and the suprise of the pixie ladies...
"I had expected all elves to hate baths... "
The one called Flinkie... a firm pixie ladie from around the fourty with long fluid pink hair and a orange dress that ended ruffled above her toes commanded as she was helping Maxine wash herself up while the other one was getting her a dress and everything else she would need from now on….
"most of us do, some of us don't….. I know two more elves that don't hate water in the way of washing up…. Like me…"
Maxine replied with a smile as she plopped her head up and down in the water to get her hair wet as well then started to put soap in her hair, to the greath astonishment of the two pixies that now both looked at her with widen eyes….
"you mean to say that not all of you are like… dirty and….. Gross and…. Iew…."
Margreta, a thin pixie with long style orange hair and blushy cheecks in a purple shirt with jeans under them asked as she held up a purple gown that was most likely meant for me…. Looking at me suprised.
"yeah…. Like i said, most of us do like dirt, and getting filfy and all better, but there are elves... like me... that dont hate water... and washing..."
Maxine explained as she held back her head so the pixies could wash out her hair, after that she was dried off and got a set of new underwear and then... Maxine looked at the strange cloth with lines in them as they put it around her waist, before tying it up... causing Maxine to gasp for air...
"Calm down... its just a corset... meant to keep your waist as thin as possible... all ladies wear it"
Margreta said as she put on her new gown and straightent it for for her... it was very nice... purple with lighter purple in the shoulders... only the tight corset was something the young elf would have to get used to...
Maxine's POV
"How can pixies BEAR this... i can hardly breath.."
I asked after the ladies were done fixing me up for my new life... i had to admit i liked the dress.. the corset... as they called the thing... on the other hand... was something i really had to get used to...
"Most ladies of grace just... dont know any better... first time you wear it do?"
Dinkie asked as she put a darker purple bow on either side of my head... i nodded and squirmed a little to loosen up the tight corset...
"Yeah... and i cant say im very fond of it..."
I groaned as i walked out up straight like a line... unable to walk elsewise... since i had heard the doorbell ring and i was wondering if it was someone i knew who came to ...
"Thats okay... we can loosen it a bit if you like... so you can get used to it slowly..."
Margreta offered as she loosened the corset a little so i could breath better and then they helped me walk on my new shoes to the door were i heard Arsenio talk to someone... and when i came down the stairs i saw Femke standing with Arsenio...
"Femke... what are you doing here?"
I asked as i carefully trailed down the stairs... carefull not to trip and fall over my new gown. I saw Femke look up... at me... her eyes gleaming as she saw me for ...
Femke's POV
I was asked by Arsenio to help Maxine get used to her new life soon after i watched her sit in the living room with Arsenio... so i lied to Rex that i was going to shop in pixievillage, which they lucky believed ( i guess their bad behavior is rubbing off on me...) and then headed to the mansion market on the map Arsenio had send with the letter...
"I wonder how Maxine is taking up her new life up until now... "
I thought smilng as i knocked on th big wooden front door. Arsenio opened the door himself, letting me in before he told me that Maxine would be down any minute since she first had to get washed and dressed up.
"that's okay.. I have all the time"
I smiled as I looked around the big hall as Arsenio went on doing his duties. There was all kinds of servants walking around. Al off them were pixies, only a few gnomes who ofcourse… wanted to provide from the rich prince for his money…
"Femke... what are you doing here?"
a voice called from the top of the stairs... Just as I was thinking about that. And when i looked... i saw a elf that LOOKED like Maxine... but she was beatifull... in a long purple gown and a tiara on her head... meaning she was a real princes now...
"Which she is now she is going to marry arsenio" ran throught my head as Maxine slowly made her way down the stairs.
"wow... Maxine... you look beatiful... i almost didn't record-ice you"
i gasped smiling as i looked at the young elf that now carefully walked down the stairs, carefull not to trip over her long gown.. before she came over to hug me...
"thank you... thank you for telling me to follow my hearth... i'm feeling so happy now..."
Maxine smiled as i answered the hug, clearly very happy for her as well... since i really was happy she found true love...
"im glad to hear your happy.. do.. what are you too gonna do about... you know... the rules..."
i smiled before i asked the second thing with a worried glace, seriously worried about the rules... do Maxine answered this with a evil smirk, clearly up to something..
" and knowing her... its gonna be a good thing... she is a queen in making things up..."
i thought as i looked with a smile to Maxine... who was currently smiling at Arsenio who smiled back with thesame loving glace in his eyes... which made me (again) feel happy they were together now...
"were gonna fake it to be forced marrige then just say we fall in love over time... "
Maxine smiled at me as Arsenio nodded as a sign he agreed with the plan as well, which suprised me to be honest... since Arsenio... as a pixie... was fond of speaking the truth and follow the rules...
"not that they have another choice at the moment..."
i thought as i watched them disgust the details about what they could and couldn't do if they wanted to pretend this was a forced marrige… while they did so, I saw something of the old Maxine spark, since this was what elves were the best in… lying and cheating… do I saw arsenio wasn't to bad in lying either…
"they were meant to be... thats for sure..."
i thought smiling as i listened closely to what they said so I could spread word accordingly, so no one would ever suspect they were already in love. Since offcially a marrige between elves and pixies was forbidden. After I spread word accordingly I returned to the mansion prince arenio lived and started on teaching maxine how the royal life worked, which wasn't an easy job since all maxine had ever been used to was the elves life… but because maxine put a lot of effort in and in a few days already I could see a lot of prosses in her behavior… while nymphea got everything set for the wedding...
In the meantime in the castle, maxine was bussy learing how to sew from me. This wasn't easy for the elf, but she was seemingly trying to get it done, because after a while I could already see progress in her work...
"Which is also partly because she really wants this... " i thought smiling as i watched her sew quitly for a while.
"Your a natrual as it seems..." i dared to complimented her after a while looking up fromy own work to see how maxine was doing, seeing to my greath suprise and delight she had already the start of what seemed to be a flying rabbit.
"Thanks... seems like it was easier then i thought it was..." Maxine smirked as she looked at her work. Scrunching up her nose as she closely observed her work. "Still needs some work..."
This made me lauch and place my own embroidery down to help Maxine with her work. The two of us were so bussy with their work that neither of us noticed Nymphea enter the room with Arsenio behind him. both Looking quite suprised to see us joke around as I was fixing the small mistake Maxine had made in her work, before I handed the embroidery work back to Maxine, who then took it over while thanking me for the help before carefully getting bacl with what she was doing.
"well, well, well! For a elf your taking this quite well" Nymphea commanded, making Maxine look up with a startled look in her eyes, while I just looked up a bit annoyed. Because she had no idea what she was talking about… even do she shouldn't find out about that either… so instead of making a snappy remark i kept my mouth shut and made a small hand sign to Maxine to swallow her pride as well and concentrate on her embrodery work… knowing if the girl made a snappy remark she might give the whole sceme away. "has she been difficult?"
"No.… i have already helped them to adjust to some minor things before so until now all goes well" i replied as calmly as possible, keeping my gaze at my work to keep Nymphea from seeing how annoyed i looked at the moment. Instead I gave Maxine a small reassuring smile and nod. Making Maxine smile back at me thankfully, before looking back at her work. Cursing softly when the needle pricked her finger. "language will be the mayor issue tho"
"But that is something she can still be taught before the wedding assume?" Nymphea asked, smiling a little when she saw i magiced a bandage out of thin air then bound her finger with it to prevent blood to drip on her work.
"Ofcourse Nymphe… " I started to reply smiling, but I stopped mid-scentense when I heard a loud "BANG" sound coming from the hallway, followowed by the voiced of Rex and Lenny in the hallway… calling out to Maxine… Making me look at Maxine with a shocked look, while Maxine… looked at me with Terror in her eyes. Not knowing what her friends came for but having a pretty good feeling as to why…. And so had I… this could get ugly….
Maxine's POV
"No.… i have already helped them to adjust to some minor things before so until now all goes well" Femke replied as calmly as possible, keeping her gaze at herwork to keep Nymphea from seeing how annoyed she looked at the moment. Which was a feeling we shared at the moment I had to admid! What! Just because we were dirty, stealing elves didn't meant we couldn't handle simple Pixie like tasks when needed! Instead of lashing out tho… Femke gave me a small reassuring smile and nod. Making me smile back at and nod back thankful she clearly got my back in this, before looking back at my work. This was sure something to get uset t…. OUCH CRAP! I cursed softly when the needle pricked my finger. Making Femke smile and place a hand on my knee to tell me that sort of language wasn't allowed anymore. "language will be the mayor issue tho"
"But that is something she can still be taught before the wedding assume?" Nymphea asked, smiling a little when she saw Femke magiced a bandage out of thin air then bound my finger with it to prevent blood to drip on my embroidery work. Thank evilness…. Wouldn't dream about having to start a new one…
"Ofcourse Nymphe… " Femke started her reply, but stopped mid-scentense when she heard a loud "BANG" sound that clearly came from the doorway, followed by two voices I instandly record-iced as Lenny and Rex's voices calling out for me. WAIT WHAT!? How they did get here? And what did they want? I looked at Femke and saw that she looked at me as shocked as I was looking, before she took one step and got before me as Rex, Yucca, Lenny, Narcissa and Floxy (tho Floxy looked like he was here totally against his will) stormed into the living area. Their eyes widening when they saw me standing behind Femke.
"Maxine…. What the…." Lenny stammered, looking at me with a shocked look as I stepped out from behind Femke a bit so they could clearly see what I looked like… like a Pixie princes…
"wow Maxine… you look beatiful" Yucca gasped.
"well, they at least got something that collors by your eyes… I guess…" Narcissa sneered, tho in her eyes I could see she clearly also liked the dress.
"It feels weird to wear a dress" I smiled as I twirled around so they could also see my new shoes. "and the shoes pinch a little… but it's actually not as bad as it first seemed"
"so this is IT then…" Rex snapped, looking at me with a hate in his eyes I had never seen before… a hate that matched even his hate for the pixies… "Your just gonna LEAVE us for that royal pain in the ass!"
For a moment I just… stared at him…. Unable to believe what he had just said. Before it dawned on me what he had said… making me throw back my head and lauch… just lauch… making Femke look at me like I had just gone mad, while Floxy covered his mouth, also having caught on to what he was implying.
"my, My Rex I had never thought you to be the one to be JELOUS!" I chuckled after I calmed down a bit.
"I am NOT freaking JELOUS!" Rex snapped crossing his arms and looking away. But I knew him to well to just believe him… We had been together for to long for me to not notice when he was jelous…
"OO yes you are jelous…. Your jelous I FOUND SOMEONE that can't just make me rich and powerfull as we always dreamed… but that also cares about me…" I retored with a smalle smile on my face. "and even tho this marrige is against my will, since I hardly know him…. I also care about… "
"Maxine…" Lenny gasped, looking at me with wide eyes.
"awsome…" Floxy whispered, smirking at Femke behind me before he quickly flashed me a thumbs up. Looking to the side with a neutrall look on his face when Narcissa looked at him.
"Shut your jaw! She is going to betray us!" Narcissa snapped, moving in to give Floxy a whack to the head as she always did. But Floxy was faster and moved out of the way. After this he got in between me and Rex… next to Femke… shielding me from harm.
"NO! This should be MAXINE'S choice! Not yours! Not Rex's but HERS!" Floxy stated bravely, pointing to me as he said "her's". Making me l looked at him with wide eyes, since this was unlike anything I had even seen from Floxy… he was standing up for what he believed in. "and if THIS is what she wants… what truely makes her happy… we should support her in that choice"
"Femke had a good influence on him in that regard… he is finally allowing himself to stand up to Rex" I thought with a small smile on my face as Yucca also joined Floxy and Femke.
"Floxy is right for once…" Yucca stated calmly, taking Floxy and Femke's hands to form a wall before me. "being a elf always meant being a team… one for all and all for one no matter what… if this is what makes Maxine happy… we should support her… even if we don't understand it"
"Guys…" I whispered, looking at the two elves before me. Elf or no elf i was touched by the commands. They really cared about me…
"pafatic!" Rex sneered, looking from Floxy and Yucca to Femke before his eyes fell on me. "i can't understand how you can feel for a PIXIE off all things…"
"I never said I was in LOVE already Rex…. It is way to early for that!" I snapped, smiling at Arsenio who was still standing in the doorway, looking at me in disbelieve. "But I do feel a connection to him… a connection that goes BEYOND just… friendship… and I wanne see were it lands me…"
"as a washed up, combed and well mannered PRINCES!" Rex snapped, struggling against two guards holding him back after he had taken another step towards me. Which the guards must have seen as a attack.
"SO WHAT REX?!" I snapped, taking one step closer to Femke's arm, who was still forming a wall between Rex and me along with Floxie and Yucca. "SO WHAT IF I END UP A WASHED UP, WELL MANNERED PIXIE PRINCES!? AS LONG AS I INDEED LOVE THE PRINCE!"
I snarled at Rex, stomping my foot angrily as i fell myself grow to Femke's original size with anger. Really Rex could be so stubborn when he wanted to be… why couldn't he see I wanted to find out if this was true love i was feeling? Why couldn't he just move on from me and find happiness as well?
"from what I am seeing…" Nymphea suddenly interjected, making me look at her a little suprise, since I had almost forgotten she had been in the room as well. "is Maxine willing to give things a chance… for once showing elves can actually change… why stand that change in the way?"
"Because she is MY fiance! And i am NOT willing to let go of her!" Rex snapped, looking Nymphea death in the eye as he spoke.
"but I am…" I said firmly, taking the necklace he had given me on the day of our engagement, which i then threw at his feet. "I'm sorry but this for your own good... It's just not going work out between us anymore... forget about me..."
I smirked a bit at the cruel twist of irony, since this came very close to what he had told me only a few hours ago when I had still been in doubt about my feelings for Arsenio.
"You'll regret this…" Rex growled, looking at me with a death glare as the guards dragged him, Lenny and Narcissa out, leaving me alone with Yucca, Floxy and Femke.
"I…. Eeeeh best get going… I was agreed to meet Sapphire in the Molly Moo today…" Floxy smiled, rubbing the back of his head as he spoke. "we eeeeh…. Are getting along…"
"and I better get…. Well…" Yucca looked at the place the others had been dragged off to, suddenly realizing she had just agreed to come to the pixie neighborhood willingly. If she were to step outside without Femke by her side she was going to get another one of those forced baths she so hated… the willing ones tho… weren't half as bad…
"maybe you can clean up a bit and join the lesson… it isn't half as bad as it seems once you get past the continuesly pricking your finger" I smiled, smiling a bit as Floxy appologized for barging in on the prince like this, then quickly headed out of the house to get to his date… "I think…"
"OO, I didn't know you were already past the pricking your finger all the time phase then" Femke joked, giving me a good natured shove as she said this.
"Or if yer wanne go home, i can make sure you get a escord to make sure you get home without being arrested" Arsenio offered with a kind smile. "any friend of ma cherie Maxine is a friend of mwa"
"I think i will try the embroidery for a bit…" Yucca smiled, plopping on the couch and getting a embroidery frame from the basket that stood next to the bench. "okay… how do i start this.."
"Yucca… " Femke smiled, shaking her head with a chuckle, before she sat down next to Yucca and placed a hand on her knee. "I'll teach you in a bit okay, but first at least wash your wash a bit… your kinda dirty even for elf standarts"
"what the… i washed this morning.." Yucca commanded, rubbing a hand over her face, before she looked at her hand, which indeed seemed very filfy. "oooo wait! I remember now! After that i got in that mud fight between Lenny and Narcissa!"
"they got into a mud fight?" I asked with a small smile. "how did that happen?"
"something about Lenny breaking something that belonged to Narcissa… which Narcissa made a giant fuss about…" Yucca recalled as Femke got a washing cloth, with which she carefully cleaned her face off a bit. "because ofcourse she does… and I got in between to stop the fighting when Lenny threw the first mudball"
"okay, where was I when that happened?" I asked with a amused smile on my face.
"that happened after you left for… here…" Yucca answered, grunting a bit when Femke put pressure on a spot that didn't quite come off easily. "Rex went after you to see where you were going as well"
"maybe Yucca can go with the staff for a bath… while we disgust the upcoming marrige" Nymphea offered, pointing to Margreta and Flinkie, who appeared in the doorway when Arsenio rang a small golden bell. "the filf will come off easier that way"
"don't worry yuccs, they won't harm you… they helped me just now as well" I whispered to Yucca, who looked at me with a suprised look, before she nodded and went with the two maids now.
Finally alone with Arsenio,Femke and Nymphea I walked to Arsenio and wrapped my arms around him, making Arsenio smile and return the hug.
"were ya scared ma cherie?" Arsenio asked me, calmly rubbing my back in a soothing way as he spoke.
"no… i am happy it is over tho…" I replied honestly. "in all the years I have known him I have never seen Rex so mad… "
"he indeed looked very angry" Arsenio agreed with a nod. "I do not think he was very happy about you finding happiness"
"then maybe it would be a very wise idea Prince Arsenio to let the wedding happen as soon as possible" Nymphea now commanded. "I know it will mean that Maxine will have to get used to things very quickly… but the longer we wait the more risk there is that Rex might try something to try and stop the wedding"
Arsenio looked at me with a sad look as Nymphea said this. He knew I wanted to slowly get used to things before the wedding. But Nymphea had a good point. The longer we waited the more chance there was that Rex and the others might try something to stop the wedding or ruin things…
"how soon can we plan a wedding?" I therefore asked, giving Arsenio a small reassuring smile when he looked at me with a dumbfounded look. "I know what i said before… but I meant what I said… i wanne give this a honest chance… and the longer we wait the more we endanger ourselves and potential guests"
Nymphea hummed when she heard me say this. Looking at me with a pondering look in her eyes, before she looked at Arsenio standing next to me, still holding on to me with a small protective smile on his face, before she gave a small chuckle.
"It can be done within a week… and for the guests it will have to look like a forced marrige, aldo I can see from the look in the eyes of the two of you…. That is not the case.." Nymphea noted, which made me gasp. How did she…. Know… "you have that glint in your eyes… thesame one i saw as when you were pretending to be Gypsy gyps child…"
Nymphea answered my unasked question. Her smile fading in a stern look after she had said this, looking out of the window to where the elfs had been let away to.
"You have to be aware that this is officially forbidden… but since Maxine has proven to me that she is willing to accept change.." Nymphea looked me deep in the eye, making me look back at her with thesame stern look before I nodded. "I will make a exception"
This made me smile at Arsenio, who bended in and gently rubbed his nose over mine in a effectionate way. Seemed like this forced marrige was going to happen… no matter what.

And with that I end the fourth chapter. I am so sorry! It took me eons to make this chapter! But I had a terrible case of writers block! Only today after reading "the poppixie after story" writen by TunaMayo I finally got my inpsiration back to finish this chapter.

A/N
That Maxine accepted the fact that she is going to marry prince Arsenio doesn't means she will be automaticly adjusted to all off the new pixie rules and regulations. Keep this in mind for future chapters.
So…. The breakup between Rex and Maxine… yeah… that was bound to happen if she wants to marry Arsenio… I am not very good at writing breakups but I did my best… I hope you all enjoyed it.
Just to clear things up: Nymphea to the wedding ONLY because Maxine had both proven she wanted to change to fit in with the pixies and that she was truly in love with the prince.
