El.

Authors Note: This is not meant to be a novel, this will be much like my previous OUATIM fiction, that is to say it will be a fairly short one shot, based on El. This is also set shortly before OUATIM.
His fingers rode gracefully across the strings of the freshly made guitar; they hit their mark with the grace of an ice skater dancing a lucid melody of balance, charisma, and intelligence.
Scarcely had he bent his head to play when he heard footsteps. The footsteps belonged to a leather boot crunching the hot gravel of the typical Mexican street, typical…here at least.
His head still bowed to his guitar, his skilled hands made for a latch on the back of the guitar. A bead of sweat dripped from his forehead, nervous or heat one could not tell.
In a movement not unlike a cat stealing upon its prey a gun was released from its hidden chamber. The pistol soon found its way to point at the man in the leather boots. A blink of surprise, no a stutter, largely unheard of from El, was the only thing that greeted an old…acquaintance.
"Always dramatic, El." Marquez twirled his short mustachio and rested a hand confidently on a holster. "Going to shoot me?"
El looked up his opponent, his opposition, the very thing that had reserved a spot in the motel called his mind. An itch he could never scratch, food he could never taste, a thirst he could never quench. Most of all, he was a murder, the murderer of his family.
"No, no. Vengeful, Si." El held his gun at Marquez, holding back the urge to shoot him outright, no, he'd have to suffer.
"El, think I have come alone? If I die, you die." Here is where his stoic counterpart made a mistake, Marquez made a slight motion, one that wouldn't be caught by an amateur, but by one who wasn't new to danger. A slight flicker of the eye told a story known oh so well to El, ambush.
In a movement not even slightly exaggerated El spun and fired off three shots. Two of which found their mark in the nearest man.
"Fair fight eh?" El spun viciously, only to receive an arrogant sneer as Marquez signaled in more men.
This was gonna be a fun day.
