The world around me was a black and misty realm, despite there being nothing else in here I could feel the presence of something else watching me.
"Congratulations, you've been selected as the newest in a long line of Gamers."
I was surprised to hear someone else speak, their voice was deep and booming yet utterly polite but I could tell that this wasn't someone I would want to mess with.
"Who said that?"
My mind was a jumbled mess. Not too long ago I was at home having just gotten back from a little get together with my friends. Things get a bit hazy from there but I think I went for a walk around the neighborhood? Wait, wasn't there a bright light? Was it a car? Does that mean I died?
"Correct. Surely you must be aware of what comes next? The stories of Gamers are rather popular in your world after all. But I digress, what you need to know is that I will be serving as the administrator for your system in this upcoming journey of yours."
The voice answered as if having read my mind.
"And what if I refuse. As a Gamer I'd be thrusted into some dangerous world in which I'd have to grow strong in order to survive, that's not something I'd want to do. I much rather go to my designated afterlife away from danger and spend the rest of eternity in peace," I question taking a seated position on the gray ground.
There was a long silence before the voice spoke again with the tiniest hint of disappointment, "In that case I misjudged you and you may proceed on your way to oblivion."
Oblivion?
"What awaits your kind after death isn't a paradise, isn't a hell or anything of the sort. What awaits you is simply nothing."
Upon hearing that I feel a primal fear overtake me, I started to hyperventilate and shake uncontrollably, "In that case I really have no choice but to accept. Ceasing to be is in its own way the worst hell I could imagine."
Despite never seeing the source of the voice I could tell it was smiling.
"Excellent."
"But may I know the place you're going to be sending me to?" I ask while trying to calm myself down.
"Of course, your journey has been selected to take place in the world of High School DxD, a world you're familiar with I assume."
How could I not know it? It was something of a guilty pleasure of mine, though my friends gave me a lot of shit for liking it.
"Now that is out of the way I will leave the rest to you and after this you will be reborn. Rejoice for today is the beginning of the rest of your life as our newest Gamer."
And like that the presence that had been speaking to me was gone.
It took a few minutes before I got over my panic attack but when I did I mentally pulled out the menu to go over the details of my new System.
[WELCOME: Allow me to go over the basics of your stats and other features currently available before heading to character creation]
HP: Also known as Health Points is the measurement of your lifespan and is affected by your VIT stat. The more damage you take the lower your HP will fall, should it hit 0 you die and receive a Gamer Over. You regain HP as your body heals though this can be quickened through the use of certain skills or perks.
SP: Also known as Stamina Points is the measurement of your physical energy and is affected by your CON stat. SP can be used to perform Physical Skills, Sprinting, and Power Attacks. SP regenerates over time but can be quickened through the use of certain skills or perks.
MP: Also known as Mana Points is measurement of your mystical energy and affected by your MAN stat. MP is used to perform Magical Skills and Spell. MP regenerates over time but can be quickened through the use of certain skills or perks.
LVL: Also known as Level is a basic measure of experience and an estimate of strength. There are two types of levels: Class Levels and Racial Levels. Your Player Level is determined by the combined sum of all your Class and Racial Levels.
Race: The species that you are in game, due to the selected difficulty setting your base race is set to human though that may change depending on events and if certain requirements are met.
Class: Classes can have a variety of max levels and stats improvements depending on the rarity and type of class you have selected. While multiple classes can be taken only one can be leveled up at a time.
Strength (STR): Governs your physical might and attack potency.
Agility (AGI): Governs your movement and attack speed. AGI is also used when calculating your sprint speed.
Endurance (END): Governs the amount of defense your body has, a higher END will allow you to mitigate damage.
Vitality (VIT): Governs your lifeforce.
Constitution (CON): Governs the amount of stamina your body has.
Mana (MAN): Governs magical energy and Increases your mana pool, as well as the amount of damage that spells and magical skills deal, your resistance to magic damage and effects, and your control and efficiency over your mana pool.
Perks: Are bonuses obtained through special rewards, they provide passive effects to your stats and overall character. Perks cannot be leveled up like skills but can receive add ons in the form of Traits.
[NOTE: You will receive three random Perks upon arriving to the selected verse.]
Traits: Further additions to Perks that are created through actions or habits you have performed repeatedly, they usually upgrade perks in some manner and are unique to you.
Flaws: Upon receiving a Perk you will also gain a flaw associated with it. While some Flaws are permanent the vast majority can be lessened or even outright removed through special measures taken by the player or simply over time.
Skills: Skills are categorized by two categories: Passive and Active but can be further separated by being Physical or Magical in nature.
Okay, that kinda makes sense. So what exactly are my stats looking like?

Okay, I can work with that. So on to creating the new me. Looking at the options I definitely want to make myself handsome, call it vanity but why settle for anything less? Now I wasn't going for a pretty boy look, instead opting for a more rugged appearance. I also went with long hair as back in my old life I prefer to grow mine out. When it came to color I went with maroon for my hair and a goldish brown for my eyes.
"Now I need a name," a smile graced my face as I thought back to one of my favorite characters.
"Yhwach," I entered the name but…

Fights with you are less actual conflicts between peers and more so a force of nature destroying whatever is in its wake. Due to this EXP gain for Physical Skills involving combat are harder to gain and require more EXP to Level up.
So, I'm like Wakatsuki now, cool. But wait a minute! What gives with this 'degradation' business?
[ANSWER: Degradation will occur to Skills and Stats that have not been used in some way for an extended period of time. This results in the loss of EXP and eventually lowering of levels. However Stats cannot be reduced to lower than your base stat of 10 and Skills cannot be entirely lost through this method.]
That shouldn't be a feature Gamer's Body should ensure that can't happen.

Focusing I take a deep breath, gathering my bearings I take a look at where I am. I look to be in a park and judging by how dark it is I can safely assume it must be early in the morning. Next I check my pockets and find identification papers and an acceptance letter to Kuoh Academy as well as keys to an apartment and a small notepad. Looks like I'll be attending Kuoh Academy as a second year student, that's convenient. How I'm able to read kanji perfectly is beyond me but let me check something.
"Skills," upon saying the command a window appears in front of me showing my one and only skill.

Well that's useful, at least I have that covered. Looking over a schedule inside the notepad it seems my first day is today although I still have a few hours which means I should take the time to try and level up, but before I can do that I need to select a class.
I bring up a menu with a list of available classes I can take right now, but the selection is less than ideal. For right now I'm going to choose a combat class with an enthusiast on physical or martial focus. Sadly my best and really only choice is this.
[Street Fighter]
You do not have any style or technique as you never learned from a professional. Still though you can throw out blows easily to do a bit of damage to the other guy. This class focuses on STR, END, and AGI on Level up with a minor bonus to CON.

Now my HP and SP sit at 60 and 55 respectively but perhaps the best thing is the fact that my STR stat is at 624 after factoring my Superman perks. Man, I really need to level up and fast. Hey game, any quests I can get?

Objective: Survive and kill the Stray Devil [ ]
"Wait what?"
Before I could fully process what I read I felt something creeping up behind me, "What's this? Only one human tonight? How unfortunate oh w-"
Not giving them a chance to finish their sentence I turn and swing my fist in the direction that I hear their voice coming from. The result was…well I guess I now know what 624 STR looks like. I managed to hit the stray in the center of their stomach causing them to spew out a lot of blood as they were blown away creating a crater where they landed. Initially I thought that was the end of it but then the bastard got up.
"You're strong…hmm, you smell human…could you be a hybrid of some sort I wonder?" The stray had a bloody hole in their gut but didn't look perturbed by this.
Seeing them now I instinctively reach up to grab a hold of a tree branch and break it off to use it as a makeshift club.
The stray seeing this smirked before making a mad dash for me, a blade of bone in their hand. I barely had to react as I moved to block the swing. The clash must've lasted for less than a second but in that time I was able to sweep their leg causing them to fall back, this led them to throwing out a kick at my face.
Once again I used the club to deflect the blow only to feel pain at my side as the blade of bone slashed me.

I growled as I planted my fist into their face, however the stray wrapped their limbs around my extended arm in an attempt to break it. In response I bashed their spine with the club causing them to let go but not before they managed to dislocate my arm at the wrist, elbow, and shoulder.

I took a deep breath and tightened my grip on the club. The stray was on the ground unable to stand, perhaps I managed to break their back, either way I wasn't going to take any chances and raised the branch above my head before bringing it down with all my might.
[Gamer's First Quest]

Dropping the branch I take the time to do the painful task of putting my dislocated arm back into place. Looks like I'm already a fifth of the way through to leveling up my class.

"Oh, joy," upon seeing the strays I picked up the blade of the first stray and took a defensive stance.

AN: This is my first time actually writing something and posting it so I am so sorry for the shoddy writing. But hey if you did enjoy the start of this story then please let me know, also please give me criticism so I can try and improve.
