The soft slow music began to fill the room as Lissa pressed play again. I leaned in close to Dimitri's ear and purred,
"Dance with me." He smiled down at me and kissed my forehead. He stood gracefully and extended his hand. I took it eagerly and he spun me into him, draping his other arm around my waist, pulling me tight against him as the words began.
One night a few moons ago
I saw flecks of what could have been
Lights but it might just have been you
Passing by unbeknownst to me
I craned my head back to look into his eyes and shot him a playful smile, releasing his hand that I'd held onto tightly before to stroke his face. He smiled back down at me.
Life is emotionally abusive

I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me as the words washed over me. Dimitri's smile stayed firmly planted on his face as he twirled me, before wrapping me back in his strong arms. I noticed Lissa had drug Christian out of his seat to join us and the four of us swayed together in our own makeshift ball.

I thought back to the cabin and the hotel room, remembering that it felt like a dream when Dimitri finally admitted he wanted me. I remembered the feeling of our romance being impossible. It truly felt like a dream coming true when we finally gave ourselves over to one another.
This scene feels
Like what I once saw on screen
I searched Aurora Borealis
Green
I've never seen
Someone lit from within
Blurring out my periphery
My breath caught in my throat, remembering the moment Dimitri was restored. It was like watching a movie play out in real life, right before my eyes. His soul has always sung to mine, seeming to lit him from the inside and blinding me to everyone and everything else.
My smile is like I won a contest
And to hide that would be so dishonest

Now it's like snow at the beach
"I love you," I whispered up at him as the second chorus filled the room. He kissed me softly.
"I love you," he responded, affection shinning in his eyes.

I let out a little squeal as Dimitri lifted me off my feet and spun as around. He chuckled, the warm sound blending beautifully with the music and I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck. I kissed him deeply as the sound faded away.

The music paused once more, replaced by Lissa obnoxiously cheering and clapping behind us. I kept my lips on Dimitri's and simply flipped her off behind my back. She responded with a laugh and another whoop of delight. I broke the kiss and shook my head at her, beaming stupidly.
