Once upon a time in the magical land of Equestria there were two regal sisters who ruled the land the older one princess Celestia who raised the sun had her very own faithful student in the pony known as twilight sparkle who she knew would take her place one day on the throne one day.
But princess Luna the younger sister did not have an heir to her throne to take her place as ruler of the night for it was princess Luna's duty to raise the moon and keep an eye on the dream realm so all the ponies could get a nice sleep and be in a good mood for the next day that her elder sister Celestia would bring the next morning.
However on this particular evening after Luna had raised the moon she couldn't help feeling a little bit lonely she knew that twilight already had a little niece named flurry heart who was the daughter of Princess cadence who happened to be twilight's old foal sitter and shining armor who was captain of the royal guards and twilight's big bother.
Princess luna walked around the canterlot royal gardens as the light of her beautiful moon and stars danced across sky making the atmosphere feel like something found in a beautiful dream but she was a little surprised to find celestia stargazing that night.
"Whats wrong sister it's getting late" said luna as she approached her sister who was sitting on a nearby bench watching the stars.
"Oh nothing is wrong dear sister I was just admiring your beautiful night it seems more beautiful than usual" said celestia moving over so her sister could sit down next to her.
"I know I was feeling a little bit creative tonight" said luna looking up at her beautiful work that was the night sky before turning her attention back to celestia.
"Sister i've been thinking lately about something" said luna.
"About what luna?" Celestia asked feeling curious about what luna was thinking about.
"I was thinking it's time for me to have a child of my own sister I know for a fact that twilight is going to take your place ruling all of Equestria one day but who will take my place as ruler of the night and the dream realm" said luna.
"You have a very good point luna because we both won't be around forever so i agree that we must find you an heir to your throne i could check the foal adoption center" celestia offered with a thoughtful look on her face.
"Oh no sister I couldn't possibly take somepony else's foal my child would have to have abilities similar to mine" said luna.
"Well Luna I've heard some ponies often make wishes upon your beautiful stars and most of the time they end up coming true" said celestia.
"Really sister so you're saying that maybe if i try wishing upon one of my beautiful stars my wish might be granted" said luna getting a hopeful look on her face.
"I've seen it happen quite a few times luna give it a try by finding the brightest star you can and pour your heart into it" said celestia.
"Ok sister here goes nothing" said luna before she faced the brightest star in the night sky she could find and began to say her wish.
"Oh bright shooting star shining through my gorgeous night please have my wish tonight i wish i could have a little foal of my own to love and care for so i too can experience the joys of motherhood just as my adoptive niece cadence and her husband shining armor do with their little flurry heart" said luna and the bright star twinkled back as a way to say her wish would be granted that night.
Luna later went back to her chambers and stayed out late doing her nightly duties but sometime before celestia would be due to raise the sun she fell into a deep sleep without realizing it.
After raising the morning sun celestia walked out of her chambers on her way to breakfast but on the way she noticed that luna's chamber doors were still open much to her surprise.
Hm this is strange luna never leaves her door open like this i'd better check this out first breakfast can wait but my only sister can not said celestia as she walked into luna's room quietly and was met with quite a sight of the state luna's room was in.
There were unfinished scrolls scattered everywhere on the floor near her desk most likely a bunch of unfinished checklists of everyponies dreams she visited that night or was planning to and as for luna she was collapsed on her bed her royal wear still on her and her covers were messed up causing celestia to chuckle a little apparently luna had forgotten to tidy up but celestia didn't seem to mind after all this used to happen a lot when they were growing up so she straightened everything out before approaching her sleeping sister and giving her a gentle tap.
