Part 20

Max walked into his father's office to see him meeting with Lord Larick.

"I am sorry father for interrupting." Said Max

"We were nearly fininished. What can I do for you?" Asked Philip

"Miss Elizabeth asked me to request to be able to do the blood oath." Said Max

"The blood oath? Does this young lady fully understand it? That she is binding a part of herself to the granalith forever? That should she betray your family it would cost her life?" Asked Larick

"She is very aware of the price that she would pay for betrayal." Said Max

"Larick, would you act as witness to it?" Asked Philip

"Of course Sire."

"Max, have Elizabeth in the throne room in two hours. I will have everything ready then." Said Philip

"Yes father."

Max walked out of the office to find Liz.

Serena sat in the library reading through one of the law books that Trina had gotten for her. She looked up when she heard someone clear their throat.

"Hi your Serena right?" Asked a young man in front of her.

"Uh yeah. Serena Parker."

"Kyle Valenti."

"So uh Kyle, you're in the army?" Asked Serena looking at his uniform.

"Well in training anyway."

"That's nice."

"Yeah, my commanding officer is a real hard ass."

Serena raised an eyebrow. She knew then for sure that he had a background not to different from her own.

"Let me guess. You're human."

"Yeah. How could you tell?"

"The way you talk. No antarian would say hard ass."

"Yeah. So uh did you want to take a walk in the garden with me sometime?"

"I don't know. Kyle, you do know that I am only fifteen."

"Yeah. I just turned seventeen."

"I am not even at the proper age for courting."

"I realize that. Serena, I just want us to be friends right now."

"I would like that."

Kyle smiled and the two of them headed out to the garden.

Max lead Liz into the throne room. Liz's eyes went wide when she saw it. She had never dreamed that she would ever enter this place. He lead her right to a white ring on the floor in front of the throne. There were four crystals around the ring. One at each point as if the ring was a compus. North, south, east and west.

"Please step into the ring Elizabeth and kneel." Said Philip

Liz did as she was told. Philip came up to her with a very sharp dagger. Liz could feel her heart start to race.

"Elizabeth, let me see your left hand palm side up." Said Philip

Liz did as she was told. Philip gripped her tightly around her wrist. Philip then leaned down close and whispered in her ear.

"I know my grip is tight. But this will hurt you more if you move when I cut you."

"I understand my King."

Philip then spoke to those in the throne room. He made note that Kivar was there.

"Miss Elizabeth Parker do you swear on your life's blood that you have never nor will you ever betray the Royal family of Antar?" Asked Philip

"I swear on my life that I have never been nothing but a loyal subject of the crown. I swear that until my dying breath I will never betray the crown. If I speak a lie then by the drawing of my life's blood may these be the last words I ever speak." Said Liz

Philip placed the blade on her palm and cut it open. He heard a soft wince of pain as the blood was drawn. Philip then placed the bleeding hand on each of the crystals. He then released his grip and the crystals released a white light. A voice was then heard in the throne room though no one spoke.

"This woman's loyalty to the crown is the purest and with no doubt. It can never bee questioned again. Rise Elizabeth, and remove yourself from the granalith's ring of loyalty."

Liz did as she was told. It was then her personal guard stepped forward and wrapped a cloth around her cut hand.

"Maxwell, please see that Elizabeth has her hand looked at by a doctor. You must not heal it yourself. The scar will be the proof to all of her undying loyalty to us." Said Philip

"Yes father." Said Max

Max lead Liz away and Philip could see that Kivar was not happy with the out come of the oath.
