The gargoyle clan of Manhattan were getting to be well known on the streets of New York by bad guys. More of the innocent humans knew little about them or didn't acknowledge them until they were victims saved by the gargoyles. But most of the humans were always afraid of the strange creatures here in their city.

It was the middle of July. It was really warm even at night oftentimes. On this night, the Trio were out patrolling.

Brooklyn was out on his own tonight. His brothers, Lexington and Broadway were together on the other side of Manhattan. They were often patrolling or doing more things together. He himself was the clan's Second in Command and would do more with Goliath to be more in training to be the clan's next leader someday.

So far, Brooklyn's patrol seemed to be rather quiet tonight. He was restless for some action outside of his home, the Wyvern castle atop the Eyrie building.

The red male was also thinking about Angela, Goliath's daughter. He wished she had saw him as a potential for a mate. He figured that he had tried the hardest to impress her. But she had fallen for Broadway instead. What did she see in him? But then, there was probably a better female out there for him. He just hadn't found her yet.

After more than an hour patrolling Midtown and finding nothing going on, Brook decided to call it quits and head home, that was before he suddenly heard an explosion. That got his attention and he turned to the east to go check it out.

What he found was a bank that had been blown into and the alarm was sounding. He growled to himself. Those thieves weren't going to get away with this on his watch. Brooklyn went down to stop the robbery.

There were five men wearing dark clothes and masks to protect their identities. They were in the vault. "Come on, Men! We need to get as much as we can before the cops get here!" The leader shouted orders.

His comrades had bags and were stuffing loads of cash into their bags. When they were done, they came out and were going to go into the alley to get into their truck when a dark figure stood in their way with wings and glowing eyes.

Brooklyn growled at the thieves. "Going somewhere?" He demanded furiously.

"AH! A monster!" One of them cried out in fear.

"You aren't going anywhere." Brooklyn declared.

"Just try and stop us, Monster!" The leader exclaimed. He tried to charge the gargoyle with a knife that he pulled out of his pocket.

Brooklyn easily caught the man's wrist, snapped it, and made him drop his knife. Then he punched him in the stomach and threw him into a wall, knocking him out. He then proceeded to use his skills to capture the rest of the gang. There were police sirens heard coming and he knew he needed to get out of here.

He got out of the bank's building and jumped onto the wall and got safely to a rooftop before cop cars showed up. He got out just in time. He waited there and saw all five thieves brought out. One of them had an injured wrist. It was the leader.

Down below, the lead thief was angry that he was going to jail this night. He was going to the hospital first. He had a broken wrist from that creature and an intense stomachache from the blow he took earlier. In his mind, he was vowing revenge on that monster when he ever saw him again.

Brooklyn took off back to the castle, satisfied that he had stopped those criminals. He had no idea what they would do in the future.

At the hospital, the man's right wrist was put in a cast to heal. It was also discovered that he had been punched hard enough in the stomach and the blow to his back being thrown into the wall that his spleen burst open and that resulted in a surgery. At least he could live without a spleen.

When he was well enough to leave the hospital, he was taken directly to Riker's prison. When the man was able to get up and walk around the prison, he was able to at least reunite with his gang members.

"Whoa, Boss. You sure got a number done on ya." One of them said in concern.

"I know that you idiot!"

"What are we going to do, Boss?" Another asked.

"When we all get out of here, we are going to find that red monster that did this to me. To us and get our revenge!" The leader growled.

The gang all smiled evilly. They were going to develop a plan to get the red gargoyle back for what he had done to them. But they would have to plan carefully. Those creatures weren't always so easy for humans to take down unless you had ninja skills or something.

The Daily Tattler came to the prison daily to report strange things in the city since the people there couldn't do things quite as freely so it was one of the things that gave them insight on the strange things in the city and elsewhere.

The gang looked forward to that news every day. They were hoping for signs of their monster being seen in it. But nothing.

They all were going to be serving a long prison sentence, but knew they needed to break out of here. They weren't going to wait seven or more years to get their revenge on that monster. They were going to plan carefully and there would come the time to get out of here.
