"What's this about, sir?"

Hawks ran a hand through his golden hair as he suppressed a sigh while he followed the Deputy of the Hero Public Safety Commission. He grew tense once he realized he was being led into a part of the building he had never been in before and the Deputy was keeping silent for the moment.

"Sir, where are we going?" Hawks asked with caution as golden eyes darted everywhere to memorize every detail that he possibly could, "What exactly is this place?" It all looked dull, but more importantly, as they walked through thick doors with many locks, inescapable.

"A problematic one," The Deputy finally spoke, rubbing his temple, "One that we only let out when it's absolutely necessary. I never imagined that you would have to step foot in here. A secret department of the HPSC that few know about," He glanced back to Hawks before looking forward again, "However, that one is becoming too much for us to handle anymore."

'Secret department? That even I didn't know about?' Hawks scratched his cheek, narrowing his eyes, 'How is that possible?' He let out a silent breath, "And if this one is so 'problematic', why do think I can handle it?"

The Deputy turned only to give him a dry expression and Hawks rolled his eyes before they stopped before a reinforced door, "Here we go," The Deputy muttered, causing Hawks to stiffen a little as the man begin to unlock the locks on the steel door, "She could be in a bad mood or disinterested. It's different every time."

"'She'?" Hawks noted, "What's her Quirk?" He asked as his wings spread wide apart, "Gotta be powerful if you lock her up like some kinda animal."

"We don't know," The Deputy glanced at Hawks from the corner of his eyes when the blond seemed to almost stumble for a moment, "We can't get any useful samples and any samples we do get, we found nothing useful."

"What does that mean exactly?" Hawks asked with apprehension as the door was finally unlocked, "Something must show up, right?" A few of his feathers floated in the air around them.

"This girl... is different," The Deputy stepped into the room after Hawks as they peered around, looking for the girl. It was a decent sized room with comfortable furniture, "We don't know where she came from or who her family is. She does not even speak. In the few years that she has been here, she has only said one word."

"And that is?" Hawks moved to the other side of the bed where his keen sense of hearing could pick up the sound of chewing. He paused at the sight, noting the Deputy stayed back some.

"Miko," The Deputy sighed, "We don't know if that's her name or something else, but that is what we call her." He could not hold back the shiver when cold blue eyes stared up at them.

The girl was petite, perhaps in her mid-teens and the instant her eyes met Hawks', she jumped back so quickly that even the No. 2 Hero was surprised as she half-knelt over, almost canine-like with one arm raised defensively with a plate of dried meat in front of her.

Oh boy.

"Hi, Miko-chan~" Hawks smiled cheerfully, trying to come off as friendly, not sure how to conquer this task at all, "Let's be friends, ne?"

What a job.
