Denji was breathing heavily as he stood over a defeated enemy completely shirtless as he retracted the chainsaws back into his arms and looked over at the defeated unknown enemy to him. It certainly wasn't a Devil he knew that much, he wasn't called up to kill a Devil after all.
A celebratory clapping was heard from behind him and as Denji turned around he came face to face with the half scarred man he had met many times at this point. The one known as Silco.
"Well done Denji you have performed well" Silco spoke up as he walked towards Denji, only for the boy to not give him a passing glance, instead replying with "where's miss Makima?"
"Busy at this moment. Besides you work for us now or have you forgotten?"
Denji groaned angrily. He knew he had offered to work for them but it was under miss Makima's supervision. And while she did tell him this morning to follow Silco's orders he didn't like it.
"Doesn't matter. I'm not doing this for you and your stupid organization I'm doing this for miss Makima" Denji said as he angrily walked past Silco without sparing him another glance. An action that seemed to get no response from the half scarred man.
"Well it doesn't matter for who you do it you work for us as per the agreement" Silco simply replied, hands clasped firmly behind his back.
Denji stopped in his tracks and groaned audibly. He had indeed made an agreement for the sake of Makima. One that he could not back out of. He had seen the power that the leader of the Collective held and he was sure that if he tried to stand up against him he'd be squashed like a bug, even Makima couldn't save him then.
"Just take the compliment. You've provided us a good service. Makima was right when she said the Chainsaw Man is powerful and we are very glad to see you live up the reputation she has spoken about" Silco told.
In an instant Denji had turned his head around and asked "she spoke about me?"
Silco grinned and replied with "oh yes boy quite a bit. Let's discuss it more after your next assignment."
Throughout the halls of the Devil Hunters HQ, Power was stomping around in a sullen and angry mood, as had been her mood for the past six months. One that hadn't improved and it had shown itself again this morning as Power angrily threw her bowl of oatmeal through the cafeteria, where it bounced off the wall somehow and landed right on top of Kobeni's head.
She stomped past Makima's office but suddenly stopped in her tracks when she heard a loud yell.
"I have had just about enough of this!" a voice screamed.
It had come from Makima's office. Power stood still for a good few seconds until she heard another yell "you have to discipline that dog of yours! He's revolting!"
Power slowly stepped back and crept as silently as she could closer to the door. Peaking through the small opening into the office. Makima stood there leaning against her desk casually, smiling from ear to ear as the other person in the room was shouting at her. Power didn't recognize this person. She was a slender woman with long white hair tied in a ponytail and dressed in a similarly white colored military outfit.
"Calm down Weiss I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding" Makima calmly replied.
"That boy keeps eying me up and down and staring at my chest. It's disgusting and creepy and you do nothing about it! If this continues I will personally take care of him" the military woman threatened.
Power looked on with curiosity. She knew instantly they where talking about Denji. The threat however did not seem to bother Makima who only raised her eyebrow at it.
"I doubt that Weiss. I don't think the Collective will like the idea of you getting rid of their most powerful weapon" Makima said crossing her arms confidently.
"The Collective…wait I heard that before…" Power thought as she felt a shiver go through her.
"Have you forgotten who my father is?" Weiss said as she stepped forward "if I bring this directly to him I'd hate to think what he would do to your little pet. He might even let me take care of him."
Makima didn't flinch, she was completely undeterred by the threat.
"Maybe you should see it as a compliment Weiss. A boy thinks you're attractive enough to look at" she said in a mocking cold tone.
Weiss grit her teeth in frustration "there is only one man who can look at me like that…"
"Oh yeah I remember hearing about him. Didn't he die though?"
Power was surprised by the speed at which the military woman had grabbed the sword at her hilt and held it inches removed from Makima's face, who was still completely unfazed by her actions.
"You're on very thin ice Makima…I swear if you don't watch your tongue then I will…"
"Will do what?" Makima asked with a raised eyebrow as she calmly stood there with the tip of Weiss's sword inches from her face "I have provided the Collective with one of the most powerful Devils in history, who obeys my every order. I'd say his leering gaze is a small price to pay for him eliminating everything in the Collective's path. So I don't see what all the fuzz is about?"
Weiss was seething, her hands trembling. This woman was mocking her. She wanted nothing more then to pierce her heart, but knew that it would do nothing. So in a quick swift motion she placed her weapon back into its hilt.
"My father will hear about this!" she scowled angrily before she turned around and stormed towards the door. Power seeing this immediately made a run for it and sprinted as fast as she could before Weiss could reach the door.
Running down the stairs in panic her mind could only think of one thing.
"This was an emergency!"
