Hello Author here, this chapter is just a filler chapter which is why its really short. I promise the next one will be longer.

(8:46pm) 1 hours and 10 minutes later…

Summer Bay – Yabbie Creek – Northern Districts Hospital – Kyle's Room

"I'm sorry I'm not understanding what you're saying Sid." Brax said after Kyle had been returned to his room.

Putting Kyle's chart back, Sid repeated himself: "When we opened Kyle up, there was no issue with his appendix. We then did what is called an Exploratory Laparotomy and we could not find out what was causing the source of your brother's pain. Therefore, at this stage I'm under the assumption this is down to his kidneys, and we might have to look at dialysis."

"Is that even possible? You know for his kidneys to replicate the pain of an appendicitis?" Bianca asked after both herself and Heath had joined the others in Kyle's room.

"It can be possible due to the location that it can replicate the pain." Sid replied "Look, I'm going to discuss it with our Nephrology department to figure out a plan for what we do next."

With that Sid left the room and the Braxtons watched as he left.

"I'm so confused." Casey said after Sid had left.

"I think we all are Case." Ricky pointed out "For now let's just be happy it wasn't something new on top of everything else."

"Ricky's right, if it's his kidneys then we were already prepared for something like this to happen which means we have no added stress or worry." Heath chips in hoping it would help.

"No, instead we might have to deal with the fact he's going to end up on dialysis a lot sooner then we wanted, which I don't have to remind any of you Kyle won't be happy with." Brax stated.

As soon as Brax had said that they all knew what would happen.

"Then we just need to remind him it's the best thing for him Brax." Ricky told him.

"But Brax is right Ricky. Kyle hated the idea that someday he might need dialysis and made a point to say he didn't want it at all." Casey said as he remembered a conversation he'd had with his brother, not long after the family had found out about Kyle's health problems.

"What do you mean he said he didn't want it at all?" Brax asked.

"He told me himself he'd rather die than be stuck on a machine because he would never get off of it." Casey explained "Something to do with the fact that the transplant list for a Kidney is really long and he doubts he would ever get one."

"But surely with how bad his condition is and his age he would end up at the top of the list." Heath suggested.

"Kyle's done all the research and besides there might be other people who have been on the list longer which could potentially mean they might end up needing a new kidney more than him." Casey said as he went to sit down in the seat beside Kyle's bed.

Looking at his brother, Brax asked: "When did Kyle do this research? Also how do you know this when he hasn't told the rest of us?"

Just as Casey was about to reply, he noticed Kyle's fingers starting to move: "He's waking up!"

They all look at Kyle and then Ricky runs out of the room to find Sid.
