"So, you also come from a world called Earth and it also has the same countries as are world, and the same languages?" branch manager Takumi asked with all seriousness. "Yeah, it seems that way to me at least." Ichigo said, "Hey Ichigo what year was it before you came here?" Jin asked this made Ichigo think and spoke, "Um, 2003 why?"
This surprised Takumi, Jin though not so much. "Ichigo I don't know how to say this, but you probably traveled through time to the future" Takumi said and Ichigo looked shocked "What! You're kidding, right, right!" Ichigo was starting to panic then Jin spoke "Ichigo considering are worlds have about everything in common except the year tells us that this might be the case."
Ichigo didn't want to hear this; he was going to get his revenge on Tsukishima only to find out he never left his world but traveled to the future. Ichigo knows about different dimensions because of Kisuke but time travel? "I-Is there any way to send me back to my time?" Ichigo asked quietly only to receive a negative.
"Excuse me but I need to be alone for a while." Ichigo said leaving the room and going back to his bedroom. Ichigo didn't know what to do he felt powerless again. Only this time he didn't have anything to protect. Ichigo decided to go to sleep with a heavy heart.
The next morning Ichigo woke up depressed as he went downstairs. "Oh' Ichigo your awake miss Shiori was going over different possessions for Border agent combatants you want to join?" Yuma asked as he looked at Ichigo in question. Ichigo looked at the board and sighed "I guess if there is no way back, I should at least try to get my badge back." Ichigo thought before saying okay.
Shiori then flipped the board showing three frogs lined up. The one on the right showed a frog with a sword that said attacker The middle frog had guns in both hands, and it said gunner. The last one on the left had a gun it was holding in both hands, and it said snipper.
Ichigo was reminded of Rukia's crappy Chappy drawings only to realize why wasn't Soul Society doing anything about these neighbors. As Shiori continued Ichigo was thinking if something happened in the Soul Society to make them not come and help.
Ichigo looked up as he noticed Shiori writing on the board then turned around and said, "The position that would suit Chika the best is-" only to be cut off by Jin who said, "A sniper I bet" This upset Shiori, but Ichigo's attention was gone as he felt three people enter the house and one was coming straight to their location. "Incoming." Ichigo said nonchalantly which made everyone look at the direction Ichigo was staring at which was the door. A second later you could hear someone's footsteps only for the door to be open.
A ginger girl started saying something about a thief eating her food and was demanding justice. Then she blamed Yotaro for it only for Shiori to admit serving the food making the ginger stretch Shiori's cheeks. All of a sudden, a muscular man and a black hair guy came in the room making the muscular man ask, "What is going on here." They then told the ginger who was now identified as Konami to let go of Shiori.
Jin said hi to the two guys then the one with black hair said, "Who are they new recruits" Making the muscular guy and Konami take notice of them. This made Konami upset for not being told they had new recruits and Jin said, "Well I haven't told anyone about this yet but their family my three brothers and kid sister." Ichigo thought it was a dumb lie, but it seemed Konami fell for in "Jeez how gullible is she." Ichigo thought.
When she was told she was tricked she yelled "Y-you lied to me?!" Shiori introduced the three the ginger was Kirie Konami, the black-haired guy as Kyosuke Karasuma, and the muscular guy as Reiji Kizaki. "Okay know that we are all here let's get to the point. These three wants to be A-rank agents and soon going to be put through the meat grinder of the competition. We have about three weeks to get them ready; I want them to be trained in combat and ready to win. Thats were you three come in I want you guys to pick one of these noobies and mentor them. This order comes from the boss not me" Jin said to make sure that the three mentors don't decline.
"What about him?" Konami asked and pointed to Ichigo. "Oh, I almost forgot Ichigo would you mind becoming a Boarder agent?" Jin asks Ichigo to which Ichigo sends a glare at Jin only to sigh in defeat "Maybe this will help me get my badge back, but I don't like it" Ichigo then asks in a defeated tone "Where do I sign?"
Jin pulls out a paper and Ichigo signs it. "Great well I'm on my way now bye." Jin says and tries to leave only to be stopped "Who is going to train Ichigo we have three A-ranks and four of us who needs trained?" Osamu asks, Jin hearing this says, "Ichigo will be fine he is strong enough to stand on his own but you three are different." Jin then leaves.
Everyone looked at Ichigo and then Konami says, "I don't see what's so special about him I mean he doesn't look that strong?" "Oh, you want to find out?" Ichigo said sending a glare at Konami with a tic mark on his forehead. Konami glared back only for Karasuma to say, "Break it up you two if you are going to fight do it in the training rooms."
After walking and with Ichigo and Konami bickering the group made it to the training rooms "Okay this is the training rooms here I brought some triggers for you to pick from Ichigo." Shiori said while showing a case of triggers. This caused Ichigo to scratch the back of his head "Thanks but I have a trigger." Ichigo said bringing the trigger from his pocket this was when Shiori noticed something. "Ichigo can I see that trigger?" "Um, sure." Ichigo said nervously and handed her the trigger.
"What's wrong Shiori." Reiji asked wondering why Shiori was taking such an interest in the trigger she was just handed. "Ichigo where did you get this trigger from?" Shiori asks and Ichigo decided to play dumb "I found it when I was walking, why?" "Because this is a B-rank trigger not to mention if you found Border property you should have turned it in." Shiori says "O-oh sorry" Ichigo apologizes.
"Come on we don't have all day you know" Konami yelled to which Ichigo grabbed a trigger in the case and said, "Right let's get to it." Both Konami and Ichigo went in the room and agreed to have one match. When both of them activated their triggers, Ichigo's clothes changed to that of his old bankai coat only this time he had Tamakoma branches Border symbol on both shoulders and a pitch-black blade in his hand.
As for Konami her outfit changed to a green long-sleeved shirt, green gloves, green shorts, and green boots that went up to her knees. Her hair was also shorter and carried two axe like weapons. As this was going on every other person was watching the match through a monitor. "So, who do think is going to win?" Yuma asks only for Reiji to say, "Konami will she has actual combat experience." "Hold up Reiji remember Jin says this Ichigo guy doesn't need training, so he is possible skilled, do you three know anything about him?" Karasuma asked the three newcomers.
"We met him a couple days ago and he had what I believe was a black trigger." Osamu said surprising the 2 mentors and the operator. "Wait if he had a black trigger then why did he have a B-rank trigger?" Shiori asked only for Yuma to say, "He told me that when he was found with it, he was brought to Border HQ and gave up the black trigger as a sign of good faith hoping to get it back only to be imprisoned and then almost killed but he escaped somehow."
"So, he escaped imprisonment from Border HQ?" Reiji asked more to himself then anyone around him. "Shh, its starting." Shiori said as everyone present looked at the monitor. Ichigo charged forward and went to cut her only for Konami to block with both her blades she realized there was a lot of force behind the attack considering she skidded back a couple of feet.
Konami smirked and ran at Ichigo who stood in his place. When Konami reached Ichigo she swung one of her axes only for Ichigo to move faster then she expected and used her other axe to block Ichigo's blade she also noticed there was a green glow where Ichigo last stood. Ichigo then kept getting faster and faster as he used bringers light to move around Konami.
Konami was patient and waited till she saw her opening and swung one of her axes at Ichigo who was moving only for him to jump in the air and using bringers light to make a platform to launch himself forward cutting the arm that swung at him off. Konami didn't sit still as her other axe came down and cut Ichigo in the chest making Ichigo fall to the ground.
"Ha, I win come on what's wrong get up I can still go a few more rounds. Ichigo?" Konami looked at the ground shocked as Ichigo tried to standup only problem was, he was gushing blood from where she cut him. "W-what, h-hold on I need help Shiori he's bleeding we need to get him to a hospital now!" Everyone came in the training room and rushed Ichigo to a hospital where he was getting treated.
Shiori had taken Ichigo's trigger to see what was wrong with it. As for everyone else they were waiting hopeful to see Ichigo again. After a while the doctor came out of the operating room and told the Border agents "Well, he'll live but I'm surprised he's alive at all." Konami looked down and said, "Did I really almost kill someone" "Oh, no the wound you gave him wasn't fatal, I was just talking about his scars." the doctor said. This made Reiji ask, "What scars, he's a new recruit and we don't know much about him." This made the doctor curious but none the left said, "Come with me, I took a couple of photos so me and my colleagues can figure out what happened to the teen."
The group walked to the doctor's room where he fetched the photos. Showing the group of six the pictures they were horrified by what they saw. Ichigo had scars all over his body the most prominent ones were a big scar going down his shoulder it looked like a big, jagged blade had cut him. He also had a scar on his other shoulder that looked like a sharp blade had made it. Then there was a scar going straight across his stomach that made him look like he was almost cut on half. Lastly was a giant circler scar on his chest and back looking as if he had a hole blown through him.
"W-What is this" Osamu said as he covered Chika's eyes, so she didn't see. Yuma who grew up on a battlefield knew no normal being can survive the wounds Ichigo has had let alone him. The rest was quite as shocked and soon the group decided to go back to base and wait for Ichigo to come back and ask him about the scar themself but right know the three noobs needed training.
20 Days Later
Ichigo had just woken up to see he was in a hospital bed he soon called for a nurse and was able to get released but had to get escorted back by someone, and that someone was Konami. "So, you okay now" Konami asks Ichigo as they walk through the snow to the base. Ichigo nods his head and says, "I'm back to 100% can't wait to get back so I can beat you this time. "This caused Konami to look down then say, "About that it's about time for the new trainees to report to HQ to enlist." "I was out for that long huh oh well it can't be helped I guest" Ichigo said not really caring about not training thinking he will be fine.
"Ichigo this is serious what would happen if you failed" Konami said glaring at Ichigo. Ichigo then said, "I won't fail I'll succeed that's all there is to it." Ichigo said with resolve in his eyes. Konami sighed and couldn't help but remember what she heard about Ichigo.
19 Days Earlier
"What do you mean his trigger didn't malfunction?" Konami says as she looks at Shiori who was nerves "I-it's as I said the trigger was in perfect condition when I took a look at it." "But how can he bleed while using a trigger?" wondered Karasuma asked only to hear a voice they had never heard before say "Maybe I can answer that" Replica appeared and made Konami, Karasuma, and Reiji freak out wondering if they were under attack.
"Replica you know what is going on with Ichigo?" Yuma said casually like there wasn't anything wrong. Shiori was a little excited to see Replica wanting to take him apart to see how he worked but what he said did catch everyone's attention. "You know why Ichigo's trigger didn't work?" Konami asked. Replica then answered by saying "Ichigo isn't using the trigger properly, he is somehow manipulating the trion in the trigger to give him more strength, speed and a stronger blade. This in turn would make Ichigo unable to store his real body in the trigger." This caused everyone to say "What!"
Present
When Ichigo and Konami got back, they were greeted by Jin who said, "Welcome back Ichigo." This got everyone inside the house attention as they welcomed Ichigo back. Jin after hearing about Ichigo's condition decided to ask Shiori and Replica to teach Ichigo about triggers and trion. After the crash course Ichigo understood about triggers switching his real body and with a trion one. When Ichigo did, he felt much weaker then when he manipulated the trion in the trigger but figured it was a good thing since he wouldn't have to worry about dyeing anytime soon. He also made sure his tigger was adjusted to feel all the pain, so he won't forget about worrying about getting hit.
With this Ichigo, Yuma, Chika, and Osamu was ready to enlist. The next day came much slower than Ichigo thought and when they got to Border HQ it was full of people. Yuma was excited for the challenges that awaited them. Ichigo promised to get his badge back and wouldn't stop through the ranks until he did.
Then a man Ichigo remember being in the room when he was first brought in. He introduced himself as Masafumi Shinoda he welcomed us and said, "AS of today you all are C-rank agents." after that he left it to the Arashiyama unit to get finish things up. The other people in the room cheered for them. Then Arashiyama had attackers and gunners stay in the room with him, and snipers follow one of his teammates.
Arashiyama then congratulated everyone and told them how to be promoted. "Everyone, look at the back of your left hand." Doing so Ichigo saw 1000 according to Arashiyama we had to make the points go to 4000 to get promoted to B-rank. "There is two ways to increase your points and one is to excel at group training events and the other is to collect points in rank battles."
Afterword he had everyone follow him to a room for a training exercise. It reminded Ichigo of the training rooms back at Tamakoma branch. We were going to slay a neighbor in computer generated combat. Ichigo wasn't to impressed about the fact it wasn't real, so he decided not to take it too seriously. It seemed almost everyone was scared to be put into combat training immediately after becoming a trainee.
Ichigo was less impressed about the fact there was unlimited trion and they weren't going to be attacked. The only plus was that the armor was thick, and it had a 5-minute time limit, but it still made Ichigo wish he was fighting Kenpachi. As Ichigo watched he could see everyone was taken over a minute that was until this one guy who looked to be part of a gang who score 4.58 seconds which made everyone who got over a minute awestricken.
Finaly it was Ichigo's turn and he decided to end this as quickly as possible because there were points on the line. Ichigo then focused trion at his feet and as the timer started, Ichigo lunged forward cutting the creature in half where its core was. 1.15 seconds the machine answered, and Ichigo walked out only to be accused of cheating by the guy who came before him.
Ichigo wasn't taken any of this and glared at the guy and asked, "Sorry I couldn't hear you what you said?" this scared the people around him "Great there goes trying to lie low." Then it was Yuma's turn, and he of course blitzed the creature getting 0.6 seconds. This of course made the same guy accuse Yuma of cheating only to be proven wrong when Yuma did the same thing only faster getting 0.4 seconds.
This of course shocked the crowd even more. After this a guy named Kazama wanted to have a mock battle with Osamu which Osamu accepted. It was clear Osamu didn't stand a chance if the 24 losses against Kazama was anything to go by. Explicitly the chameleon trigger that Kazama has to turn invisible. Though Ichigo noticed that the chameleon trigger would deactivate each time Kazama attacked. Then as it looked like the matches was about to end with Osamu getting 0 wins and Kazama getting 24 wins went one more round.
This time however was different, Osamu used a skill called bullet and let it spread around the training room slowly making it impossible for Kazama to not defend himself by attacking the bullets. Kazama charged Osamu only for Osamu to change his blade raygust to shield mode and pushed Kazama back towards the wall. Osamu then made his shield surround Kazama only for Osamu to open a hole and use his bullet at full compacity. This however ended in a draw because Kazama slashed Osamu's throat at the same time Osamu's bullet hit Kazama.
After the match Yuma and Ichigo go to all their classes and get full marks on them receiving +100 points making their total 1100 points. Then came the rank wars something Ichigo was looking forward to. As Yuma and Ichigo split Ichigo had with room 333 who had 2810 points. As the simulation started it was clear Ichigo was dealing with a cocky guy who had blond hair.
As the match begun the blonde guy started monologue about how Ichigo was an idiot to challenge someone with as many points as him. Ichigo not caring about the monologue beat the guy with one slash. This earned Ichigo quite a few points and surprisingly the same blonde tried to fight him again saying something about not being ready, this continued for 8 rounds and Ichigo's points were 1830.
Ichigo waked out of his room only to see Yuma fighting someone on a big screen and Yuma had 2 loses and 6 wins. This made Ichigo smirk and when he saw Osamu's head Ichigo walk to Osamu only to find that Yotaro and the spear guy he saw attacking Yuma before was with him. "So, how's it going Osamu?" Ichigo asked and this surprised Osamu since he didn't hear Ichigo walk up.
"F-fine I guess how are you?" Osamu asked in kind. "Check it out" Ichigo said showing how many points he has racked up. This got a whistle from the spear guy, and he said "You are almost in the 2000s already that's impressive. "And you are" Ichigo asked not knowing this guy's name "Oh sorry about that I'm Yosuke Yoneya and you?" "Ichigo Kurosaki pleasure."
That was when Yuma came out of his room and tried to fight with Yosuke only for Yuma, Osamu, and Ichigo was told to follow Jin who said, "Mr. Kido wants to speak to you." Then the guy who Yuma was fighting started cheering for Jin. He also apologized to Osamu who said how he lost 24 times against Kazama and had 1 draw. Ichigo was confused but wrote it off since he usually ignored what people said about him. After this Jin led Yuma, Osamu, and Ichigo to the meeting room Ichigo was at before. This caused Ichigo to narrow his eyes as the four of them walked through the door.
