Sara remembered things a little differently. She remembered how happy her sister had been. And she remembered how scared Winifred had been of losing her. She had told Sara they needed to protect Mary from being hurt. She didn't understand, but her sister always seemed to know best.
So that night, she had followed her out into the woods. She didn't understand exactly what they were doing, but she trusted Winifred. She didn't know who or what they were trying to bring there. But she had to trust it would be for the best.
A few days later, Mikael had arrived. Any real happiness they had found was gone. She couldn't help feeling partly responsible. True, it could all have been a coincidence. But she had never fully believed that. She had never been able to bring herself to tell Mary what she thought might have happened either. Maybe it was better for everyone if she didn't know.
But when she heard someone at the door, she couldn't help but worry. No doubt Hope's family had found her. That wasn't necessarily bad, but she had noticed any peace that seemed to have existed between them in the past seemed ot be lost. Hope was trying to restore it, but she was so young. Sara had to wonder how much she could really do.
As the door opened, Rebekah lead her brothers inside. This wouldn't be easy, but it did need to be done. Maybe it wasn't her fight, but she was still determined to fight it. She stepped closer, meeting Winifred's gaze without much trouble. "It's time. If we're going to move forward together, we have to put everything in the open."
Winifred stared at her a moment. How was it everyone seemed to be against her? Even her sisters seemed to be turning on her a little. "Surely we don't need to hurt each other more."
Klaus scowled, stepping to Rebekah's side. "No. We don't. But you're not one to be talking about hurting people. What you did to us was unforgivable."
Hope frowned, she and Mary stepping between their families. "Being honest shouldn't mean we hurt each other. That's all I really want."
Mary nodded. "Me too. Then maybe we can be happy."
Rebekah frowned. "I'm afraid you might not be very happy once we tell the truth."
Hope frowned. "Please Miss Winifred. If they know something we don't, just tell us. It'll be okay."
Sara sensed her sister wasn't going to give them anything willingly. So now maybe it was time to speak up. "We called Mikael all those years ago didn't we? I thought we were helping, but... now I'm not so sure."
Winifred frowned. "We didn't really have a choice. It was the only way. But yes Sara. Our spell brought him to Salem."
