Chapter 1 – The Start of a story.

[1st of January 2005 – Bella's childhood bedroom]

All Bella could remember as she tiredly woke up was that Edward had taken her into the woods to break her heart into pieces and left her there without so much as a goodbye. With the boy clear as day in her mind, she opened her eyes to see that she was in her bedroom and with confusion she looked around seeing none of the changes that she had been making since coming to forks a year ago had happened.

"What happened?" she groaned trying to sit up in her bed, her father was sitting in a chair beside her bed sleeping, with tear-stained cheeks.

"Bells you are awake!" Charlie exclaimed happily almost relieved, "don't you remember what happened?" he asked worriedly.

Bella shook her head wondering what had happened to make her resilient and unmoving father so worried.

"We had been walking out of the airport when you suddenly collapsed out of nowhere, and everyone told me that it was exhaustion. I took you home, and if you hadn't woken up today, I would have called the hospital." Charlie told her with a frown, "I am so glad that you woke up."

Charlie kissed her forehead and stepped out to get her some room to think – it was weird because that was not anywhere near what had happened to her yesterday! With him stepping out of her room she quickly found her cell phone and looked at the date. 1st of January 2005. "FUCK!" Bella whispered slashed yelled out into her room, because the date was either wrong or she had somehow ended up half a year into the past, to her it had been only the 16th of September 2005.

Had it really been that short a time knowing the Cullen family? Only half a year of knowledge of the world of vampires, and half a year of loving Edward?

These questions swirled around in her mind, the more she thinks of them the more she became upset with herself – why the breakup had hit her so hard and why and how did she decide that she loved him. The most Bella could say for sure now when everything seemed like a fairy tale was that most of all she had loved the family, at least some people in the family and if the date was real, she was in the past, and that she has 18 days to figure out a plan and what she wants and want to do about her future.

The only clear thing for her right now was that thinking like the independent girl she had been when she had lived with her mother, was that she wouldn't for the life of her own self take back Edward Cullen. Edward was not boyfriend material, and she for sure did not want to change before she was 25 years old.

Those two things were the only sure things in her life right now, and her choice to be more self-sufficient and have her own style!

Thinking back, Edward had been intriguing, but he had been a child compared to Carlisle and Jasper, so, what had she seen in him? The chance to be young and naïve? That had to be it, she had ignored every instinct in her to stay away from him though she weren't sorry to have experienced this so that she could now steer away from doing something like that again.

"Here you go, Bells!" Charlie said and walked back into the room with some tea and breakfast.

"Thanks, dad." Bella finally said, and this time she silently promised herself to spend some time with him, to get to know him because she had practically ignored him in her last life with him.

"You're welcome, sweetheart." Charlie smiled reserved, "you have two weeks until schools start up again, and so I will need to know what classes I will be signing you upon."

That was something she hadn't experienced before, no one had ever heard her out before like her father have done, "In Arizona, I have been in a lot of advanced classes." Bella told him because it was the truth, and she did not want to go the slow way again like the last time.

"Then you will get it, and I am proud of you! I am proud to see that you are applying yourself to your schoolwork." Charlie told her with a serious look in his eyes, and Bella knew that he said it because he really was proud and not because of anything else.

"I hope, I can always make you proud!" Bella said quietly and took the last bite of her toast and yawned. All a sudden she was more tiered as she had never been before.

"I'll let you go back to sleep; you are still recovering for some reason." Her dad told her and took the tray away from her and walked out of the room, though, not before telling her goodnight.

After Charlie had gone away, it did not take long before she fell asleep thinking of nothing other than to relax and find out why she had suddenly gone back to the past and the hovering questions in her mind.
