Lady Nyéna

Lady Nyéna was very much admired. Her emerald-shard eyes held many years of wisdom, courage, love, and compassion...yet they also contained depths of fear, heartlessness, hatred, and evil chills. She knew many things, and very rarely did things slip past her view. For she could see far and wide, into the past and into the future.

Her raven, ground-length hair told tales of intelligence and ignorance. It flew through the winds of time that never seemed to cease. Each strand had a story of life and death.

Her pale, wint'ry skin shone under the star and moonlight. It reflected romance and heartbreak. Her hands were cold to touch; for they held the bitterness and warmth of every winter since before the formation of Arda...

Though she had seen all the years of all the ages and beforehand, she looked very young and daring. She knew and saw many things, yet it seemed as though she had the world still to explore. She knew pity and forgiveness, right and wrong, love and hate, wisdom and stupidity, evil and good...she understood the words of all greatly and took in all. Nyéna was part of the earth, and the earth was part of Nyéna.

Her cool voice was as the sound of music through a crisp, starlit night. It was both sorrowful and beautiful, as high as the clouds and as low as the bottoms of the oceans. She sung a song many remembered for eternity. She embraced the memories of past Arda, and the two trees.

Tonight, she remembered Varda...

Fanuilos, Fanuilos, o Elbereth!
Síla elenath lín am ereb râd mín!
Ú-hodam di-yrn...
Nalú athradam i lim aear!

Varda, Varda, o Tintallë!
Síllo tar, kyerlmët!
Merelmët sérë ter quildë lómë!
Hlarlmë huorë ómainen fifírula...
Varyame, quimellë, antame cálë!
