Let me make clear that this is my first story, I've been wanting to start writing for a while now so I hope I don't disappoint anyone, with that being said lets put this show in the road. (I will be switching POV's to understand both parts).

This story starts when Rhaenyra and Alicent first meet, two girls that have no clue their story is about to fuse together.

Chapter 1

Rhaenyra's POV

Sometimes I wonder what being a normal person would be like, don't get me wrong im pretty normal im only four and ten, if you take away the owning a dragon, being the kings 1st born and having everyone look at your every move from the moment you were born, like I said don't get me wrong being part of the royal family has its perks, and owning a dragon well lets say no one dares to mess with a Targaryen for no reason.

My dragon, shes absolutely gorgeous and fierce, Syrax and I shared a cradle when I was a baby and she was just a dragon egg and from there we have been inseparable, the dragon trainers at the dragon pit always tell me how she acts different when im around and how she only listens to me, quite frankly were very similar, I don't like being told what to do even from the king and queen which to me are just mom and dad, I get it there are some expectations the common people have for us but sometimes I just wonder how easy life would be without this many responsabilties, from the moment I started talking I was told how to act and talk like a princess, and as a only child its hard not to act like a grown up fast when I don't have any other kids around me, im an only child but not by lack of trying my mother has been pregnant 3 more times after having me but having 2 pregnancies that didn't make it full term and one still born baby was enough for my mother, Father and mother both decided that instead of going through any of that again he will get a second wife, I wouldn't say I love the idea of father marrying anyone else but I rather keep mother safe and in good health than lose her because of another failed pregnancy.

This whole month we have been getting everything ready for our guests to arrive from all over westeros. My fathers soon to be new wife, a woman of only five and twenty (20 years younger than father), arrived this morning with her older brother and his daughter, I haven't had a chance to talk to them much because when she arrived I was with syrax in the dragon pit, she usually helps me feel less overwhelmed when things are getting to me so I have been spending a lot of my time with her, father sent one of the servants not long ago to let me know that there will be a private dinner tonight for the royal family only so we can be more comfortable when we have dinner with everyone else attending, for now Im on my way to the dragon pit, to spend some more time with syrax and I promise her I was gonna take her out for a ride.

-are you ready to take the skies with me Syrax?

Her loud growl lets me know shes more than ready so I get on my saddle and were ready to go, father wont like that I went out without letting him know but I didn't like when they made the decision to make my family larger with strangers so they can both deal with it, plus syrax would never let anyone to close to me and shes never dropped me before so I don't see why she would today, as soon as Im settled in my saddle syrax starts walking out of the dragon pit, other dragons like for their trainers to get them out of the pit before having the riders get on them but not syrax, she and I are connected. Im sure if I ever needed to make an escape she will be more than willing to help and by the time the trainers realized shes getting out she would already be flying.

Alicent POV

I don't understand why father and I had to come with my aunt, shes the one getting married to the king not us, but father insists that our family should stay together, since mother died aunt Taena has taken the role of mom in my house, shes fathers younger sister they are inseparable since little because their parents died when she was just 7 and father raised her as his daughter, when my mother died father was so sad that Taena told him she would take care of me while he kept working and attending his meetings, my father is a very wise man, some people even told the king that my father would make a great hand of the king, since the current one is very sick and seems incapable of getting better.

When he said "alicent nothing is more important than family, Taena is all we have and we are all she has" I don't know exactly who he was trying to convince because I know the fact that he was named one of the possible choices for the next hand of the king played a big part on us moving here with Taena. Leaving my older brother Ashten in hightower by himself doesn't say keeping family together at all.

Father believes he can take charge but the only thing Ashten cares about is being able to drink as much as he likes and be with as many girls as he can by the end of the night, we all see it except father, Ashten is his only son so father will do anything to make sure ashten marries and has lots of children specially boys.

"So what do you think? Are you liking kings landing ?" Taena asked while she was helping me unpack my bags.

"Well I haven't seen a lot and the last time I was here I was 4 so im not sure yet" I replied nonchantly

"You will love it, ive been here 2 or 3 times with Otto, the castle is huge and beautiful, have you met the princess yet? Shes four and ten just like you, her beauty is like no body elses, the first time I met her i was jealous about the Gods giving her such a beauty"

"I know what she looks like T, white hair and purple eyes like any other Targaryen, so im not missing a lot plus she wasn't even in the welcoming crowd with the king and queen when we arrived, doesn't that bother you? And our age might be the only thing we have in common" I said clearly annoyed by the conversation.

"Alicent, she was probably busy, plus shes the princess she will meet us whenever she has the time to, and you haven't seen her that's why you don't get what I mean but you will tonight because the king planned a dinner for the royal family only so we can all eat and talk without the pressure of everyone else watching us"

I couldn't help but noticed how she said 'US' like shes already part of their family, "Royal family? US? Youre making it sound like youre already married Taena!

"As good as!, you think the king would go back in his word? he needs an heir Alicent and im going to give him one!"

"He already has an heir Taena, the BEAUTIFUL princess!" I said trying to mock my aunt for being obsessed with the princess beauty.

"Only because she's his only child once I have a boy he will name him his heir anyways I'm done talking about this. Start looking through your dresses we have to dress to impress tonight" She said as she was walking out the room im staying in.

I hate the whole man are better than woman way of thinking in westeros, Ashten has never been the greatest when it comes to honor our family yet father left him in charge of hightower just because he's fathers only son, its like im invisible like I couldn't had stayed in hightower and do a better job than Ashten at taking charge of it, I bet the princess feels the same way about her father remarrying just to increase his chances of getting a male heir. Its really not fair, but shes a princess regardless so im sure even if Taena had a son Rhaenyra will still be able to do as she pleases even if shes not the heir to the throne.

I have found the perfect dress for this dinner, im wearing Green to honor hightower and let everyone know im still Alicent from Hightower and im only here because I didn't had the option to stay home, I will see if the anyone at the table realizes why im wearing this specific color tonight.
