"Come on Alex!" Catherine shouted for her son who was dribbling past the defence, using a quick right stepover he got past his defender as he continued to stride. "Last minute," Jim added as he was now old, his nice six pack from his playing days was gone replaced by his tummy. Next to him was George Baker a scout that came from the English National Football Academy, Jim had called him to come see his grandson play and well when you get a call from England's World Cup winner. You have to answer.

"Go on, Alex, take 'em on." Jim added watching Alex as he did a left foot V-Cross and added a nice double stepover which had him have a clear path to the goal but he ws slide tackled by an opponent before he could enter the box, the ball bounced into the keeper's hand. "Oh what was that? Stay on your feet, Alex! Terrible!" Harold shouted on the sideline which was heard loud and clear by Alex, the young boy just got up as he went to the referee. "Come on, ref that was foul! I was in clear for the goal." he complained "Sorry kid but that was a clean tackle." the ref replied as he blew for the end of the match. 'Time for pens I guess.' Alex thought as he went to his team, his coach went on explaining who would be taking the penalties and Alex was the fifth to take it.

When he looked to the sideline he just saw his dad walk away which was pretty heart breaking for the young lad to see. Penalties were a very nerve racking situation in football so when Alex went to the spot knowing his shot would win the game he just took few steps back as he took a long deep breath (Cristiano Ronaldo free kick stance). 'This one's for you...dad. It's going in.' he thought as he ran up to the ball and shot for the top right corner. The goalkeeper didn't even move.

Swish!

The sound of the net made as Alex just smirked. "Nothing but net." he said to the goalie who was depressed and was approached by his teammates that wanted to cheer him up. Alex was then swarmed by his teammates and coach as they celebrated the victory, the parents were all wooing in celebration. It was sure a good day for Alex as it was the birth of a Star.

Later he was back home in his room, which had the wallpaper of Manchester United on it, as well as the posters of club manager legend Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United Icon David Beckham and Manchester United (Alex Ferguson Era) Cristiano Ronaldo. Sitting on his bed Alex looked at his small trophy cabinet that had awards he collected over the years.

Awards Collected

Under 7 Young Player of The Year (2007)
Under 9 Striker of The Year (2009)
Under 10 EFL Player of the Year (2010)

Yeah his awards were very outstanding to say the least. His parents were currently having an argument which the young Alex was accustomed to. Calling his friend Oakley he told him of the news. "So the match ended in pens?" Oakley asked "Yeah mate. But you know me I smashed it in the top right corner, you should have seen the goalkeeper's face when I scored. Priceless."

"Haha, yeah that's what happens when you go one on one with a Hunter on penalties." Oakley joked "You right about that, you'll get sniped." Alex replied in a Fiery tone. "Alright cool mum's calling me see you at school Alex." Oakley said goodbye to the boy "See you later, Cee." the call ended. "How could you? How could you, Harold? Why couldn't you just support him like your father did?" Alex heard his mom's voice coming downstairs "Oh yeah, why couldn't I be more like the great Sir Jim Hunter?" Harold replied as Alex just sighed as he took of his medal as he put it over his Under 10 trophy which showed a man kicking a ball. 'Back to reality. Dad doesn't care that I scored, he still fighting with mum that I fell.' he thought as he took off his kit and wore his Spongebob Square Pants pyjamas (and yes they are relevent to the story, he likes Spongebob and he's an Anime lover like me...well in this fanfic he is, I'm not sure in the game.)

Just then his grandad walked in. "Aren't you going to stop them?" Alex asked Jim who closed the door. "Penny for 'em." Jim replied as he held an old school ball. "Come on. What you thinking?" Alex took a deep sigh as he spoke. "Football. This is what I want to do, like you and Dad." Jim nodded in understandment. "You know there's a difference between playing at something and working at it. If you're serious about going pro, you're going to have to make football your life, you know? George Baker was at the game today. He was impressed."

"The scout?" Alex replied shocked as Jim nodded. "Here, I want you you to have this. I scored my hundredth goal with that. February 1966 Coventry City away. Left foot volley. Sweet as a nut. Here, might bring you luck too." Jim gave Alex the historical ball. "Thanks grandad, I promise I'll practise with it every day."

"Well, you'd better get go on with it then, hadn't you?" Jim chuckled as he walked out of the room. After he left Alex went to his phone as he went to YouTube as he searched 'Ronaldinho skills.' Yeah it was the start of something crazy.

Alex was busy kicking the ball onto the wall as he was destressing a bit. His room had changed instead having wallpapers of Man United players he added the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Robert Lewandowski and Sergio Aguero. Since that goal he scored against Queens Park when it was injury time was legendary, sure he was sad as a Man U fan but he had to give the man props for coming out clutch. He then heard a knock on the door. "It's time, Alex." Jim said as Alex stopped he was wearing a white short sleeve shirt with black pants and black Jordan shoes.

"Let's do this." He said as he put the ball on his bed as he walked out the room with Jim.

The drive was a pretty long one but eventually they made it to the England National Football Academy. Getting out of the car Alex sighed heavily, since he didn't expect he would end up doing an exit trial. "Listen ,lad, don't see this as an exit trial, okay? See it as an opportunity to impress. You just go out there and express yourself. Baker's a tough nut, but he knows a good player when he sees one, and you're just that." Jim said "Sure thing." Alex replied as then his mom approached him. "When did you get so grown up?" Catherine asked as Alex gloomed. "I really wish Dad could be here, Mum."

"Hey, today's about you Alex. Not your father." Catherine replied as Alex nodded. Walking away and heading to the academy he bumped into Danny Williams. "Nice motor, mate!" he said as Alex got pissed since he was making fun of him Mum's car. "Why don't you come here and say that to my face." Alex said to Williams with fire as Danny just laughed. "I would want to destroy my suit. See you later Hunter."

"Ignore him Alex, let you're talent do the talking."

And did it do the talking here are the results of his Exit Trial. Also he'll be playing Striker as a Primary Position, Right and Left Wing as his secondaries. So he's an all out attacking beast.

You get the picture he was first in everything he did. He was currently with his team as Coach Baker was talking to an unlucky participant. "I'm sorry Gareth but you under performed poorly so you're being cut." Coach Baker told Gareth Walker and like that we were free of that guy forever he lived up to be an Accountant in the end. Walking back to the team he spoke. "Well done, lads. Lots of hard work on display out there. Hard work in training is the first step to making it as a pro, and I saw plenty of that on display today. Some of you even looked like you can play the game! Now over the next few days, the scouts will be reviewing their performance notes. As will I. Some of you may be lucky enough to get a pro contract, but if that phone doesn't ring don't give up! Keep working hard. Keep improving. If one knockback makes you quit, football isn't the career for you. Other than that I wish all of you good luck, now hit the showers." Coach Baker finished his speech, as the team dispersed Alex went to Danny.

"Hey!" he caught Danny's attention "Hey…oh it's you Hunter. You've got a right gob on you, you know that?" Danny said "Thanks." He replied. "So what is it you want to talk to me about?" Danny asked as they were heading to the showers. "I was thinking if you wanted to come with me to play some Street Football with me." Danny laughed "Why would I do that."

"It's off season, you can put in some work. Unless you think you can't keep up with some street players. Mr Pro Contract."

"Sorry but I don't play on the streets."

"Oh so your scared that you'll be made as a complete utter joke on Instagram, trending everywhere for being nutmegged 100 times." Alex said with fire as Danny laughed "You know what Hunter you're not as bad as I thought. Sure let's do it." Danny said "Dino would love see me putting in work. As long I don't get injured."

"Don't worry you won't. By the way the name's Alex." Danny laughed "Oh, I'm sorry Grandson of England's prized Sir Jim Hunter. Did I hurt your feelings." Danny cooed as Alex rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah pretty funny." Alex replied as they headed into the showers and like that a friendship was born. After heading to the showers Alex went to introduce Danny to his mom and grandfather.

"Shift starts in half an hour." Catherine told Jim as they were in her car right now. "It won't be long now." Jim replied "Do you think Alex will be, OK. He's been talking about his dad a lot recently. I mean maybe the pressure of the exit trials got on top of him."

"He played well today." There was then a pause of silence "Listen Catherine about Harold. Maybe if I hadn't been travelling away to games all the time…You know, some seasons it was like ten months of the year."

"But you always came back, Jim. You never walked out on your family."

"No, I followed my dreams. But Harold's injuries cut his career short. It ruined him. Yeah…stopped you following yours. I mean you gave up everything." Catherine looked at Jim "And I'd do it again. You know he just wants to be you" She replied as Jim smirked as then Alex opened the door of the car. "Mum, Grandad. Meet Danny Williams." Danny just waved as Catherine and Jim waived back. "Great performance today, lads. You both stood out, especially you Danny makes sense why Aston Villa has you on the Starting XI. Don't worry if you perform as you did today next season, I guarantee you'll be in the Prem." Jim said as Danny got a smile. "Thank you, Mr. Hunter it really means a lot." Danny said as Alex chimed in. "Mum, me and Danny were going out a bit so he'll drop me back."

"What-?" Catherine couldn't reply as Alex had closed the door and had left his gym bag. "You must be Alex." Alex looked to see a middle aged man wearing a suit. "And you are?"

"I'm Michael Taylor, Rising Stars football agency." He said as he gave Alex a card. "Alex let me see that." Jim said as through the window giving his Grandad the card, Michael changed his attention to Jim. "Sir Jim Hunter. An honour to meet you sir. Must I say you played like a yesteryear Didier Drogba. That 30 yard shot of yours in the World Cup Final was legendary must I add."

"Why thank you Mr. Taylor but you can just call me Jim there's no need to add 'Sir.' "

"Nonsense, it's respect you've been knighted by the Queen for godsake, I don't want to get in trouble." Michael said as Jim sighed "Alex. We are absolutely the guys for nurturing young potential, and you have got it coming out of your ears. You need representation, you call me. Night or day, Christmas Day, doesn't matter."

"Cheers." Alex replied "Anyway me and Danny have to go so later." The two players went to Danny's SUV as they entered the vehicle and drove off.
