Later into that fateful day, the friends and Aunt May went to the hospital to go check on Norman Osborn who was now in a coma. Naturally considering the circumstances, only Harry was allowed to see him and Gwen's father along with a lot of the police department was on guard, thinking the Hobgoblin would appear again to finish the job. Along with protecting doctor Stromm who was greatly injured in the same hospital in surgery for a long time.
The young Osborn stepped into his father's room finding him unconscious and wasn't exactly sure of what to do in this case. "Hey dad, hoping you are having a good rest, I know you are quite busy a lot of the time so now you can catch up on sleep. That's not so bad right?" Harry said awkwardly. "Maybe that wasn't right, ignore that when you wake up you can correct me, that would be nice wouldn't it?" He paused and frowned. "You're not going to wake up soon are you?"
Of course, he didn't answer.
"Come on dad, you can make it through this!" Harry said standing back up and looking at his phone getting bored, not sure if this was helping.
Outside of the room, Peter and MJ were talking privately.
"That guy, Hobgoblin, you fought him last when he went to kill Fisk?"
"Yes, but something wasn't right. It was weird, I think whoever is under the mask now it's someone new. It's creepy, I never even found out who that first guy was or what the heck they were after, besides killing Fisk. I'd say he was the creepy villain I've faced yet, I hoped I'd never find out what happened and that'd never come up again." Peter confessed, looking concerned.
MJ smiled knowing what to say. "He's just another guy dressing up for Halloween, you'll be able to stop him. You kicked his butt before, so I'm sure you'll be able to again!"
Peter smiled back at her. "You're right, first I've gotta figure out what his next move is going to be."
Captain Stacy walked up to them. "How are you two doing? I checked on Gwen, she's quite shaken up, but I know she'll not come looking for us for sometime. You faced that monster before, right Peter?"
He nodded. "Yes, but I think he's different from before."
"Well, whoever this new guy is, he's targeting powerful people in the field of tech or scientific research areas. With Osborn, that's four attacks now all by him. We also believe he's working with Adrian Toomes." He replied.
"Vulture, another one of my enemies back, it makes sense he'd be helping he wanted Norman Osborn dead before. A match made in heathen, or another place." Peter said sarcastically and crossed his arms.
Stacy pressed his fingers into his forehead. "This could be dangerous, it's why we've got so much security here. I hate that Gwen is put into the middle of this."
"She cares about Harry a lot Mr. Stacy." MJ said to him.
"Yes, I know. Can't say I'm very happy about it right now." Admitted Stacy.
Peter looked disappointed. "It isn't Harry's fault this is happening. It's a crazy dangerous world and it's her choice."
After that response, Stacy didn't reply and ignored it. "You should get going and suit up. With the rate Hobgoblin is attacking, he could strike again soon."
He thought about it. "I was already thinking about it, but I was concerned he might attack here to finish off Mr. Osborn."
"The building is secured, he'd have to be insane to attack here."
Now standing up he replied. "I think he is insane." Peter then turned over to MJ. "I guess I'll see you later, look out for any crazy orange flying people. Get the heck out of here if anything happens and I'll come get you."
"I know you will, good luck Peter, I hope you find your wackjob." She responded.
"Me too, fingers crossed he and his cranky old partner in crime won't be finding me first." He said and went off to suit up, swinging away thinking of where Hobgoblin would be targeting next. I should check out ESU, it could be nothing but it's got some pretty smart people working there. Would be worth taking a peak. I'd hate for my university to get attacked twice in the same month! He reasoned to himself and rushed there as it was currently his only lead.
He approached and unfortunately for him it seemed as if his suspicions were in fact correct as Hobgoblin and The Vulture were flying around.
Crap, I hate being right!
Spider-Man picked his first target for attack, being Vulture as he was closer and he wanted to know first if he picked up any new tricks. "Heads up!"
"What? Of course it's you!" He roared trying to slash at him.
"Missed me, did you Vultie?" Peter joked webbing into his wings going for a ride as he started trying to fly upwords.
His foe grit his teeth. "This is the end for you now Spider-Man! You've medaled in my affairs for the last time! How are you going to get out of this one when you can't fly!" Vulture exclaimed, trying to shake him off.
"Sorry, I've got the power of being super sticky, like super glue!" Spidey remarked and webbed up his face, then wings. "Wouldn't it be back if we both couldn't fly? That would majorly suck right?"
Panicked his foe piped up. "Are you mad!? We'll both die if you continue this insolence!"
"Really? I figured you had some sort of a backup play, right?" Spider-Man reasoned and his spider-sense confirmed it as Vulture broke loose from the webbing trying his back to slice up Spidey furiously. "Yeah, I figured!"
Spider-Man was now in freefall, shooting webbing at his flying foe. "You know, I might not be an expert on Vultures, but I fought because they didn't kill living prey and only eat what was already dead?"
"Perhaps I'm making an exception to that rule!' He countered zooming towards a helpless Spider-Man.
Seeing he was in big trouble, he decided on free falling to escape his fast foe and did as such making himself fall fast. Then before splating on the ground, he made himself a parachute to stop his descent from killing him. It worked as he got closer to the concrete below, but Vulture wasn't happy and cut the chute, making Spidey fall again, hitting the ground hard, pretending now to be defeated.
"Finally! You are down and done, your death is here now Spider-Man! Do you have any last words, the least I could do is offer that!" He said confidently.
"Oh, I-" He pretended to cough. "I want to thank my family and all my fans for sticking with me. I've tried too hard to save the world and-" He coughed in a tragic manner again slowly raising his hand. "I'm going to the sky!" Spidey claimed and leaped back up kicking Vulture in the face knocking him back webbing up his wings tightly giving him another big one two punch out to the face sending the old buzzer to sleep for a little while until the police would arrive again, hopefully.
Spider-Man rushed to find the Hobgoblin who was now missing.
"Who are you?" Doctor Conners asked, terrified by the intruder coming into his lab.
The Hobgoblin leaped off his glider. "Don't worry doctor, I'm not here to kill you. Unlike my other enemies, I know killing you isn't necessary. After all, you are a reasonable person aren't you and have a loving family?"
"Are you threatening my family? I-I'll do anything you want I won't let them get hurt. What do you want?" Questioned a scared doctor Conners.
"I'll kill everyone connected to you, doctor if you don't destroy all of your research, well you can understand can't you? After all, even an idiot could check my drift." Hobgoblin said with a sinister smirk.
Conners frowned. "All this research, it could change the entire world! Why do you want it all destroyed? I'll do it, but I want to know why."
He frowned. "Yes it could, but unfortunately it's not a part of my goals to allow these game changing projects to continue, I want to be the top man! Me-" He stopped speaking and laughed. "I nearly said my own name, got carried away there, this mask brings out the worst in me. No matter, erase everything now! I've got another person to pay a visit to on this campus, if you try any tricks I'll know and I'll find you!"
Spider-Man kicked in the doors. "Hold it Hobbie! This is over, step away from the good doctor now!"
"Disappointing, I presume Vulture has failed to end your miserable little life! He's failed me, I should've gotten some more assistance." He admitted to himself.
"Really? Sounds like you already have a lot of assistance, your voice is different from the other Hobgoblin I fought earlier today! Who the heck are you people?" Spider-Man questioned completely bewildered by there being two of his foes.
Hobgoblin stared at him. "I admit my disappointment that my ruse has failed, but it won't matter once you are dead, Spider-Man!" He said jumping on his glider and zooming at him, opening fire as he rushed out avoiding the incoming bullets.
"Get to safety doctor!" Spider-Man cried and Conners listened ducking. "I've had it with you two! Are either of you even the original guy?"
"So, so many questions. Perhaps you should be thinking of your final words Spider-Man! Your death is assured! Unlike my partner, I have no reservations about killing you! We've got history and believe me, I'm not a fan of you!" He exclaimed tossing out pumpkin bombs after they reached the outside.
"You're hurting my feelings, Hobbie! What'd I ever do to you anyways? Have I even met you?" Spidey asked.
He ignored the question if he knew him. "In truth, nothing. I just always hated you as I knew you'd come to interfere with my schemes one day! You were always a thorn in my side, Spider-Man."
Spider-Man shrugged in agreement. "You're right about that, I've got a knack for interfering with evil criminals, what can I say!" He started shooting webs at him, which he ignored and revealed a more dangerous weapon. A flaming sword of all things was his choice to try and kill Spidey with, ripping away the webbing."Come on! A flaming sword? Isn't that overkill now?"
"I'll be overkilling you once and for all Spider-Man!" He shouted, zooming at him and trying to burn him with the deadly weapon.
"Ah! Someone didn't pass English class did you? Try another way of saying that, I'll be killing you, so extraordinarily you'll wish you were never born! Wait no, that's worse give me a minute here." Spider-Man qwiped.
Hobgoblin kept on trying to kill Spidey swinging at him wildly. "Why don't you ever shut your mouth! I'll be chopping off that yapping head of yours!"
"Hey now! I happen to love this yapping head of mine! I disapprove of your quite insulting preposition, mister Hobbie!" Spider-Man kept on joking and used his annoyance against him, knocking away the sword, then smacking Hobgoblin across the face making the glider spin out of control.
"Nonsensical! How do you keep winning!?"
"My charming personality?" Spidey suggested chasing after him.
However, Hobgoblin flew off and quickly away from the area, escaping before Spider-Man could web onto the glider. The genius did leave his sword behind, which was good. Though Peter soon realized Vulture had escaped, which wasn't good.
I should check on doctor Conners, make sure he's alright! Peter recalled and went over to check on him.
Back with Harry, he left his father's room going to see Gwen who quickly hugged him upon being in sight. "How are you doing?" She asked, concerned.
He shrugged. "Better than my dad, though he was shaking a bit. Could that be a good sign of something?"
Gwen looked unsure, believing it probably wasn't and felt now wasn't a proper time to share that though with Harry naturally. "We're going to get through all this Harry, I love you." She said holding his hand.
"I love you too Gwen. Thank you, having you here definitely is helping. Say are Peter and Mary Jane still here? Oh and May." Questioned Harry.
She frowned. "Peter left, I think he had to duck out."
"What on earth could be more important than this? My dad could be at death's door! We have no idea what is going on here!' Harry exclaimed, shocked. "Sometimes I don't understand his priorities!"
Mary Jane came over. "You know, he does need to get money from the Bugle, it's very important to him helping Aunt May with her bill situation. Even now he's in university, it's gotten more serious."
"Well! Maybe she should finally get a job!" Harry suggested.
"You know, it's not that simple. She already volunteers a lot at F.E.A.S.T and loves that a lot, I'm sorry this isn't the right time for this." She realized.
Harry crossed his arms. "Why I think it is! Everyone is being lazy! I'm the only one around here with money and if my dad dies I might have to take a stake in Oscorp and I can't do that!" Harry said allowed starting to panic and sat down.
Mary Jane walked away awkwardly, as Gwen hugged Harry.
Back with Spider-Man, he went to check on Doctor Conners, finding him cleaning up his lab which was a bit messy naturally after the Hobgoblin attack.
"Hey, uh, Doctor man, are you okay?" He asked.
"Fine enough, startled by all this and honestly can't say if I'm sure if I should go through with his demands of getting rid of all my work. I can't risk my family's safety, even for all of this. I won't." He said determined.
Peter played ignorant. "What exactly is your research about out of curiosity?"
"Regeneration, I was getting so close to finding a way to bring back lost limbs, not it might all be over." Conner said, holding his missing arm.
"Help the world and yourself." Spider-Man replied.
Conners nodded. "I want to hold my son again, with both arms and give him the biggest hug ever, with both of my arms. I love him so much and he deserves to have a father who could hug him with both arms." He expressed.
"From my perspective, a great father is still great with both arms. Doesn't really change that much, but I understand your point. If your regeneration could bring back lost limbs, it could be a game changer. No wonder that jerk would want it gone. Someone like him wouldn't want the world to be helped. Your experiments could be revolutionary, you shouldn't get rid of all of that." Spider-Man said to him.
He looked concerned. "My family, they're in the crosshairs of that mad man."
"Listen." He looked at the name tag, to have a reason for knowing his name. "Doctor Conners, you shouldn't be afraid of Hobgoblin. I'll catch him and send him to jail, don't let everything go to waste." Spider-Man said genuinely to him.
Conners sighed. "My project is everything, I know you are a hero so I trust your judgment and I sense a hint of a scientist in you."
Spidey stopped for a moment thinking of how to respond. "Really? A scientist? Little old me, well I guess I am something of a scientist myself. Maybe not an expert, but certainly a great love of mine." He admitted truthly.
"That's swell Spider-Man, you must be a creative mind to craft that webbing of yours, I noticed that it's artificial, not actually a substance from your body. Must've been quite complicated creating such a contraption from your wrists and being able to hold your enemies like that goblin." Conners pointed out impressed by the invention.
Spider-Man shrugged. "Well, long story, perhaps for another time. I've got myself a hunch, the Hobgoblin isn't done causing trouble today. I've gotta find him."
"Very true, thank you for the assistance. I owe you a lot for today."
"Keep being an awesome scientist and we'll call it even, how about that Doctor Conners?" Spider-Man replied and swung off.
Back at the hospital, something game changing was occuring. Norman Osborn had awakened from his short lived coma immediately springing up, even leaving his room stepping out surprising everyone.
"Dad! You're okay!' Harry exclaimed excitedly and ran up to his father.
"Not now Harry, I've got more serious business to attend to." He responded and turned to his security guards. "Where is Stromm?"
They looked at each other and back at their boss. "Uh, his room sir. His body is quite injured unfortunately."
"Take me to him now." He said coldly and they complied.
"Mr Osborn! What about your son!" Gwen exclaimed bewildered.
He completely ignored them walking off.
"What on earth was that all about!" Gwen said, shocked and angry.
Harry frowned. "I guess he's got something more important to do."
She scoffed. "More important than his son, shame on him."
Norman stormed into Stromm's room and closed the door. A sinister grin formed on his face upon stepping in.
"Mr. Osborn? What's going on? You are completely fine, how on earth is that even possible, I don't understand. I saw you get crushed."
"The green Stromm, it worked. I hid in my secret laboratory and took the dosage of it. My second." He explained.
He looked confused. "The second? You mean you've taken it once before?"
"Indeed Stromm, I have. The first dose hardly did anything, however this second it's completely changed everything. I feel stronger, smarter, faster and finally have some clarity on my life. Someone has come to help." His grin grew and he started to laugh, looking almost as if something had changed. "Who I am and what I've been denying for so long. My true face, I finally know who I am. Norman Osborn was weak, not strong enough to win this battle and destroy his enemies. I'm his brand new friend, here to help him. All I'm missing is a name."
Stromm thought of running away or calling for help, but his body was barely holding on, being in the ICU. "What's happened to you?"
"Something wonderful! A rebirth! Norman needed me, I had to help. The second dose of the green, it made me free at last! For my goals, I'll be needing assistance. After all, Stromm, clearly someone has betrayed us and it's obviously not you. So it only leaves one other."
"Otto. Why would he do this? I don't understand. Could it be true?" Wondered Stromm.
The new identity laughed once again. "It doesn't matter, but I'll be making him sing. I need to know who this Hobgoblin is and what he's after. Clearly he's not the same fool Norman had created."
Stromm basically stopped asking questions completely floored by all this.
Then Osborn held his head, seeming to be back to himself. "What? He took over didn't he? I could hear it all. How strange, but my friend wants to help us. I agree with his plans, I'll find this Hobgoblin and destroy him, he won't escape me."
Osborn switched back laughing maniacally again. And you are going to help us Stromm! Or else, you'll wish you'd died in that fire!" He laughed and smiled.
I've been going back and forth on my version of Norman Osborn becoming, you all certainly can guess who. (I'm not saying it until he says it) This one is going off the 90's Spider-Man show and the earlier comics, I had contemplated going for the (spoilers) spectacular version where it's implied Norman was always a monster and being Green Goblin is just his true identity, Osborn business man being the mask. (At least that was my interpretation) I didn't believe that take would work here, as I did show Norman showing care for Harry genuinely, while spectacular never showed that. I felt going for the not just evil version of Norman would be my preferred take and be more fitting with what's been established, though I do enjoy Norman being just pure evil, pretty much. Ultimate Green Goblin is my favorite one. I do enjoy spectacular's take a lot too and I'm heartbroken we never see the continued fights between them.
Next up, Hobgoblin continues being himself now switched out and I can promise one of the Hobbies will be revealed next time. I enjoyed pairing up Vulture with him, but I never played on that partnership lasting too long.
Finally, I enjoyed setting up Spider-Man and Doctor Conners meeting, again back to the 90's show, I liked their relationship a lot. I feel saddened Spectacular never got to continue its take on everything. Hope everyone will enjoy my take.
Looking forward to part 3.

Your welcome, I am happy to respond.
The history of this TASM fan-fiction version of Black Cat. I love what you suggested and I'm not sure that I would be able to come up with something better, it's very well thought I think even more so for a rough draft like you said. Quite frankly I can't think of any improvements/suggestions of my own at the moment. Hopefully that'll change, my writing block is very strange.
PS. Thank you, I'm trying to get progress on it again, right now I'm 1/4th into the story so hopefully I'll be able to finish it sooner than later. I hope that your confidence will be well placed. I wanted it to be the best season finale and best chapter so far, it's definitely the most important one. Yes thank you I do remember which is why it's really taking so long. I'm glad you do have so much faith in my ability. I hope to be able to deliver what you are hoping for. I have a good feeling I might be getting back into writing for it.
