One piece: restart

Chapter 1: this must be a dream

Welcome to my attempt at a one piece time travel fanfiction, in which Luffy and a select few strawhat's/strawhat allies time travel back to 3 years before the start of the series. What changed will this bring to the story? Will Luffy be smart enough to understand what happened?

Luffy woke in a sweat, he just had a very realistic nightmare. Who was akainu? And all those people he saw die? Surely it wasn't real, it couldn't have been. But those faces, those names, they all feel too real, too familiar.

"Zoro, Yamato, nami, so many names that sound familiar." He says to himself. "Well I'm already up, so I'll hunt for some meat and then train." Luffy says to himself, putting his prized straw hat on his head and running into the forest.

After hunting for a while Luffy managed to find a decent sized beast and take it down. After having a decent meal luffy decided to get some training in.

"Just three more years until I can set sail like ace…." Luffy begins to say but suddenly images of ace dying comes to mind, surely ace is still alive, right? But why does it feel real? Luffy shakes off the tears forming, and begins.

"Gum gum pistol!" Luffy yells out throwing his arm at the tree breaking it. Luffy doesn't seem to notice that his hand turned black for just a moment, causing more damage then normal.

"Now gum gum Gatling!" Luffy yells out throwing a barrage of punches, though towards the end his arms get a bit tangled. "Not good enough, I need to work on that more." He says untangling his arms.

Elsewhere: paradise, somewhere in the Florian triangle

"Yo ho ho ho, wait, why am I back here?" Brook says. "I remember fighting marines, and dying, and not in these waters anymore."

Brook takes a few moments to think before coming to a conclusion.

"I must have traveled back in time, that or I just had a very odd dream. If I remember correctly Luffy won't be here for a few more years, so I need to train hard and get my shadow back. I'll meet him at reverse mountain."

And so the cheerful skeleton begins training to get his shadow back, and more importantly reunite with laboon and his captain once more.

Elsewhere: the new world, the land of wano.

Yamato awakens, surprised to find himself in the castle again. Wait, why is that odd? He begins to think.

Suddenly memories that he shouldn't have come to mind, he remembers meeting with fire fist ace as well as ace's brother Luffy, and Luffy defeating his father kaido. But that can't be right, right?

"If it is true, then I need to grow stronger so I can remove these cuffs, and escape. If I'm right ace will be here in about a year, so maybe he can help me meet Luffy sooner." Yamato ponders this for a bit.

He starts to remember how Luffy managed to get the cuffs off of him originally by using advanced armorment haki. Surely Yamato can achieve this too.

Idk if there will be many but the big one is it'll be a Luffy x Yamato pairing which I'm a fan of, and sadly there aren't many around.

Extended crew:

So obviously the crew will be a bit bigger, with Yamato joining the start of the journey and Brook joining at reverse mountain. I may have other characters join, I'm open to recommendations
