It was morning, and it was hell for some.
As people rested and enjoyed the unholy early hour under some warm sheets by the bed, someone wasn't as they were sent to deal with some cruel exercises that were extremely if not absolutely draining on her sanity. Tired, confused, and yet quite focused, the young woman that was running through the tracks one last time before departing groaned as sweat had stuck to her cloth and fur, causing her to feel the displeasure of the heat.
Had someone told the Gazelle Prime known as Hope Ravenhurst that this was how she would end up when she tried to get some experience as a Battle Medic, she would have remained a singer for a little longer. It wasn't like she disliked physical activity, not when her father had taken time to give her and her sister some basic understanding of training. It was rough, it would never stop being rough, but it will give them the pleasure of being stronger by the end of it. Stronger, faster, better.
But that's why Hope had specifically asked to deal with Battle Medic stuff. It was still rough, but she wasn't expecting to be thrown into the trenches because of that. She was looking into the sort of preparation which would allow her to be a powerful medic that could go by the first line of their duties and fix their allies. When it comes to knighthood, many Primes with magical powers would normally struggle to find their vocation.
Heck, there were occasions where some Primes just didn't involve themselves for too long in these activities. With all this secrecy, the need to be 24/7 available for crises, and to be prepared for all sorts of messes... yeah, this lifestyle was risky. Yet, despite what one may think of the dark-haired beauty that was Hope, the young woman loved to be in danger. Not in deadly danger, but in the kind of battle heat which made her blood warm up, her smile widened and her mind soar as she pondered and acted to survive and help others surviving.
She was someone that wanted to make her part and help people, not as a hero but as a protector.
And as she finally reached the end of the track and could finally stop, she couldn't help but grin as she heard someone starting to clap their hands at her performance. Her green-eyed gaze shifted to the source of that noise, and her grin widened a tiny bit as she recognized the man himself.
"You improved a lot," The young man of human descent commented, smiling warmly as he started to approach her. Blonde hair, dazzling eyes, and a smile that she now knew why her mother tended to focus much on when thinking of him. "Still, I don't recall giving you extra exercise."
"Y-You didn't," Hope admitted sheepishly. "I just- I just wanted to make something more before we left."
"Well, while it's admirable you wish to train more, there will be time for that. And right now, you'll definitely need a shower before we leave."
Which would mean wasting more time than they needed. She sighed. The trip itself had been a bit of a surprise and she had been skeptical on its purpose until she heard the real story of how the old war came to be and then concluded. To think that her mother had been an important piece of their survival and the birth of Neo-Earth... one thing was to learn it through history books, but another was to hear it from someone that could go into better detail.
The Love Crest never told her much of the past because, in her words, it was too lengthy, confusing, and at times painful. To a degree, Hope knew the older Gazelle Prime was right... but there was also the fact that the Love Crest loved someone before Hope's father. And while that would have weirded her out many years ago, this didn't bother her much.
Mom and Dad loved each other a lot, and their open relationship had long been impressed on her understanding of how their bond works. So, even if mother decided to do something with Matt, Hope wouldn't find it too weird. Maybe a little bit, but not to the point of being disgusted.
"I am fine to go, Matt. I will just... catch the first shower at our destination."
He nodded slowly at this, quite unsure about it. Then again, who wouldn't with how odd Hope's mind worked. Also, it was hilarious. Here she was, befuddling the Grand Knight himself, Matt Newcastle. And it definitely wasn't flirting because it would be plain weird. Maybe just as weird when she had the same mental pictures she had on Uncle Bengala- No, actually this is worse since her mother spent a lot of intimate time with her newest 'Uncle'.
"Then it's best you get your stuff now since we will leave in a couple of minutes."
The girl nodded, knowing that she already delayed the inevitable for too long. She walked up inside the large manor nearby and was greeted by a particular scene in the living room there. Two Bear Primes were talking, both red-haired and very sexy in Hope's eyes. The first one, the oldest, was obviously the one Hope admired the most for many reasons: The High Prime, the supreme Regent of the Queendom, and the spunky Wisdom Crest, Lady Ambar.
The Crest was currently fixing a few last things with her daughter, Naerie, as the girl was going to come with them. Naerie was... an interesting individual. Hope had so much to say about Ambar because she was quite spontaneous, and yet quite approachable and moderate when needed. Naerie was quite sheltered and stoic.
At times, it felt like she couldn't even show any emotions, but she revealed some on rare occasions. She was a bit at ease around her mother, and she cracked tiny brief smiles around Matt. Hope may not have the same skills her mother has when it comes to love, but she had a gut feeling that Naerie was eyeing their 'Uncle' a bit too intensely at times. And that made her feel a bit annoyed. Because she was a good surrogate niece, nothing else. Obviously.
She greeted the duo, walking up to the table where her big bag was with all the items and tools she prepared for the trip. Matt came by shortly after, carrying his own bag and an empty scabbard.
"So, where are we going to meet first?" Naerie inquired, almost too giddily for some reasons.
Matt said nothing, merely smiling as Archie, his Nanozell Spirit, manifested from his gem and showed them the map of the whole world with various stops numbered. The first one on the list was... a Beachside town south of Prism?
There were two symbols highlighted that were familiar, and their colors helped in knowing which of the Crests they were going to visit. And one of those explained Naerie's excitement: it was the Ice Crest and the Water Crest. The former was Naerie's father- of course she would be giddy to meet her daddy after months of not personally meeting him.
Before they could leave, quite the amusing scene unfolded. It would be a lie to say that they were going to meet all the Crests since they already met Ambar here and... someone else that was staying with Ambar.
"Promise Geecku to call lots?" The Life Crest, Geecku, inquired and demanded from Matt as she was wrapping her arms and legs around him. The human sighed, unfazed by her current state of undress while he hugged her back.
"Obviously, Geecku. I am your buddy, and I will not miss that for anything in this world."
The Lizard Prime squeaked happily, her blue hair fluttering as her golden eyes showed pure delight at the response. It was adorable. And somewhat hot. Then again, Geecku was the single most perplexing entity this world could see with how she mixed up wholesome and lewd in a single entity through personality and physical interactions.
And now... the show could finally begin!
