Chapter 10: Give Up The Ghost

The White Lightning struck the hat on Kaiba's far right. When the dust cleared, it was empty.
"No! That hat was empty," Kaiba despaired.
"All right, this could work," Joey said optimistically.
"It has to work," Tea said.
"Yugi will beat that faker!"
"Your guess was wrong. Guess wrong again and it'll cost you." Yugi laid a card face-down.
"Huh?"
"There are still three hats left and one of them holds a special surprise just for you." Yugi said, Kaiba looking perturbed. "If you destroy the hat that holds the Dark Magician, you'll win this duel. Choose the empty one and it's my turn again. But I bet you'll pick the hat that conceals the trap card I just put into play."
"A trap card?" the imposter asked.
"Now, which hat will it be?" Yugi asked back.
"You're taking a big gamble, Yugi." Joey said.
"If he guesses right, it's over!" Tristan added.
"Blue Eyes White Dragon, attack the middle hat!" The ghoul ordered and his dragon obeyed, this time Tea and Tristan was frozen with terror at the white electricity, which destroyed the middle hat.
"Well, now you've done it, you've activated my trap," Yugi stated as the dust settled to reveal a circle made of glowing blue and green energy that was floating, "The Spellbinding Circle!"
The circle sped forth and ensnared itself around the Blue Eyes' torso and began to cackle with energy. "I know that card," Joey said, "It lowers the attacking monster's attack points!" Sure enough, the dragon's power lowered.
Blue Eyes White Dragon
ATK/DEF: 3000/2500 2300/2500
"Normally a Blue Eyes White Dragon is unstoppable," Yugi said, "But once its drained of its power by my Spellbinding Circle, its no match for the full power of my Dark Magician!" The Dark Magician emerged from the hat he was hiding under and launched a ball of dark magic at the dragon, destroying it.
"Yeah!" Everyone below cheered as the ghoul's life points dropped.
LP: "Kaiba": 500
"Go Yugi!" Mokuba added only for another Blue Eyes White Dragon to appear and obliterate Yugi's magician, much to everyone's shock.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon

"But he just destroyed that thing!" Joey protested thinking the ghoul had somehow cheated.
"No, no, this isn't right," Sora said in shock as Yugi's life points dropped to be equal with the ghoul's.

"There are only three Blue Eyes White Dragon cards in existence in all the world and they're all in my deck," The ghoul stated much to everyone's shock, "Your grandfather had the fourth one, but I ripped it up. But how could I know that if I'm not really Seto Kaiba? You know, I couldn't believe it when you beated all three of my Blue-Eyes White Dragons with Exodia. But now without that monster in your deck, there's absolutely no way you can win. Your move."
"How could Kaiba know that Exodia got ruined?" Joey wondered. "It happened after their duel!"
"Everybody knows about your duel with Seto, that's how this loser knows it!" Mokuba revealed. "That's not my brother, Yugi! I'm sure of it!"
"Print up this Sora kids data, maybe I can use it later," Kaiba ordered and the computer did as it was told, printing the information it had gathered on the boy in question, including a photo of him with his Keyblade fighting the Heartless from earlier.
"You were right!" The computer's voice said, finally rerouting the data from Field 146 at the Duelist Kingdom . "Yugi Moto is in this duel!"
"Can you show it to me on screen?" Kaiba asked the computer and the information on the duel as well as a digital grid of the field appeared on the screens.
"I think the data you'll find most interesting is the name of Yugi's opponent." His computer said as the name Seto Kaiba flashed across the screen under Yugi Moto's name.
"Is this your idea of a joke?"
"I never joke! Sensors indicate that the person opposite Yugi Moto is registered as Seto Kaiba and he's using your deck!" The computer informed him.
"Pegasus must've taken my deck." Kaiba realized, thinking of when he was attacked by Pegasus's goons.
"Yugi defeated the first one with a combination of the Dark Magician, the Magician Hats and Spellbinding Circle, both duelists' life points are the same and it's Yugi's move and he had no cards to play."
"But without Exodia in fighting condition, Yugi can't win," Kaiba said worried, "He doesn't have any more monsters in his deck that can defeat the other two Blue Eyes White Dragons," He clenched his fist, "We have to do something."
"Shouldn't we wait to see Yugi's next move first?" The computer inquired.
"No, he'll be wiped out on the next turn if we don't do something quick," Kaiba answered before ordering, "Upload a virus into that dragon's holo-computer, it's about to get real sick."
"Viral injection underway," The computer replied as it started to upload the virus.
Kaiba watched both the screen with the loading bar and the screen with the duel as Yugi played the Feral Imp in attack mode.
"I wish he had waited a few more seconds before making a move," He said anxiously, "Can't you go any faster with this upload?"
"Keep your pants on, we're already at fifty percent, this is as fast as I can go," The computer rebuffed him as the virus kept going, "Viral infection at sixty percent and climbing."
"But nothing seems to be happening," Kaiba muttered with worry in his eyes, "The Blue Eyes is showing no signs of being affected," His eyes widened, "Something's wrong."
Back on the island, the ghoul chuckled to himself at his apparent well in reach victory, "This is almost too easy," He then shouted, "It is time Blue Eyes White Dragon, attack!" But his dragon did nothing, "What're you waiting for? Attack!" But instead, it stood rather still as lights began to shoot out of it and it began melting and its attack points began to drop. "What's going on?" The ghoul exclaimed confused and horrified as everyone stared in shock, "My Blue Eyes White Dragon!"
"This is Kemo to Pegasus," Kemo said into his ear-set phone, "I hope you're watching this sir, because we have a big problem."
"How did Yugi do that?" Croquet asked as he watched it with Pegasus.
"It wasn't Yugi, it was Seto Kaiba," Pegasus said.
"How?"
"It seems that the real Kaiba is still very much alive," Pegasus said with a smile.
"The virus is destroying the monster completely," The computer told Kaiba, who smirked, "And the data of this Sora has been completely printed."
"All right, now let's get to work on Dragon #3."
"Standing by..." Suddenly the computer screen broke up and reappeared with horizontal lines.
"What happened?"
"We've been locked out by a remote terminal. Looks like we've been hacked!"
A big pink rabbit wearing overalls and boots came on and started dancing around erratically saying "Hey, Kaiba."
"It's Pegasus," Kaiba said through gritted teeth.
"The Blue Eyes White Dragon's attack is still holding at two thousand," The computer told him, "And it's launching its attack now!"
"No!" Kaiba shouted, slamming his fist down on the console.
White energy began to gather in the dragon's mouth. "Now, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, time to obliterate them!"
Yugi, his friends, and Mokuba braced for the worse.
"YUGI!" A familiar voice called out in Yugi's mind. On Yugi's forehead appeared a strange eye symbol.
"Kaiba?"
As the attack dissipated, the Feral Imp still remained on the field.
As for the mighty Blue-Eyes White Dragon, it was quickly becoming a puddle of goo, that is, it was becoming a puddle of goo until it exploded.
"This can't be!" Kaiba gawked.
"It's gone!" Joey realized.
"It's a trick!" Kimo protested.
"Can you prove it?" Sora asked Kimo.
"Uh..."
"If you have some evidence that it was a trick, tell me now," Sora said.
"It was Kaiba!" Kimo blurted out.
"But I thought Kaiba was over there." Sora pointed to the boy on the red platform.
Kimo's face grew ghostly white. Apparently, he was found out.
"The Blue-Eyes White Dragon has been destroyed," Kaiba's computer announced. "But the virus was not responsible!"
"But how? Did Yugi Moto somehow do this?"
"How could he? It is your deck."
"My deck... it's the heart of the cards! Yugi was right!"
There was a faint beeping sound as someone tried to force their way into the control room.
"Simple, Kaiba is still alive," Yugi stated, "He stopped you!"
"Silence, I am Kaiba!" The ghoul yelled at him.
"Enough; you've played this charade long enough!" Sora called the ghoul out, a look of righteous fury on his face. "Now tell us who you really are! We all know you're not Seto Kaiba!"
The ghoul started to laugh as Yugi demanded, "Answer him; who are you?"
"I told you," The ghoul said as it began to change, "I am Kaiba...or at least, I was a part of him..." The figure began to bulge and expand until the form of Seto Kaiba was replaced by a large-set figure with the same clammy skin with beady black eyes and pink hair, wearing a dark indigo cape with a raised collar that had red innings and elbow-long, lavender-gray gloves. What caught Sora's attention was the strange heart-shaped emblem on his chest.
"You're a Heartless!" Sora exclaimed in shock.
"Wait, you mean like those creatures from before?" Tea asked, as Sora gave her a nod.
"Indeed." The figure said with a nasal laugh, "I was the darkest part of Seto Kaiba that Yugi banished to the Shadow Realm."
"You're not a part of my brother any more!" Mokuba denounced.
"Okay, I think I'm going to be sick," Tristan moaned.
"It's hideous!" Tea said.
"I knew this duel would get ugly, but not this ugly," Joey cracked.
When Pegasus's guards burst into the control room, they came face-to-face with... nobody. The room was empty, static on the view screens being the only evidence that anyone was there at all.
One of the guards reported to Croquet. "He got away."
"Search the grounds," Croquet instructed. "Everywhere." Two more guards had now joined Pegasus and Croquet in the dining room.
"It appears that Young Yugi's nemesis, the real Seto Kaiba, has come to his rescue. I must admit this is one twist that even I did not foresee."
"I have some bad news, sir; the real Kaiba has eluded us once again. You were right, he was using a terminal in the Kaiba mansion to access the Industrial Illusions mainframe. If I thought he was alive, I would've beefed up security."
"That's two escapes, Croquet; must I lock you away... again? Get me Kimo on the radio."
"Hey ugly," Mokuba called. "If I were you, I'd start to worry about what my big brother's going to do with you once he catches up to you!"
"Quiet you." The Ghoul said as he snapped his fingers. Just then, Shadows appeared from beneath the ground.
One creature appeared right in front of Mokuba, petrifying in fear. As the shadow reared its claws to attack, the monster evaporated before his very eyes. The boy saw something slash the creature before it disappeared. Looking forward, what Mokuba found was profoundly astounding; Sora holding a giant key.
"Yugi, finish this creep off! I'll handle this!" Sora called out as he motioned the others to grab Mokuba and hide, while he ran away, as Pegasus called him and ordered him to forget Mokuba and retreat for now.
Yugi nodded, before turning his attention back to the Ghoul. "Alright, Heartless. It's your move. You got a whole deck and only one Blue-Eyes White Dragon."
The Ghoul drew and chuckled, "Grappler in defense mode." The monster he summoned was a bi-pedaled reptile of a dark indigo color with red shoulder-pads, knee-joins, claws and yellow eyes with the classic reptilian slit-pupils, its tongue being forked and its tail plated.

'He's just biding his time until he draws his last Blue-Eyes,' Yugi thought as he saw Sora hacked and slashed through the heartless, throwing an occasional magic spell to keep them at bay. 'I'd play this card in defense mode but he still has Defense Paralysis in play so I can only attack. And with no defense, if he draws his last Blue-Eyes White Dragon, I'm finished.' He then drew his new card and played two cards, "I'll play one card face down and summon Celtic Guardian."
Yugi's monster once again resembled an organic male and like the Dark Magician, was fair skinned, but was an Elvian warrior as opposed to a magician, dressed in a tight-fitting, long-sleeved brown shirt with cream-colored pants and brown leather boots with green armor, a matching helmet with white wing-designs and blue cape armed with only a sword. His hair was chin length and straw-blonde, his eyes a light golden brown and he had purple boomerang-shaped marks under his eyes.
Celtic Guardian
Attribute: EARTH
Monster Type: Warrior
Level: 4
ATK/DEF: 1400/1200
Celtic Guardian then leaped at Grappler, slicing it clean in half. "Ah, parting is such sweet sorrow," The ghoul said in a sarcastic and false-sad voice, "Next I play Mystic Horseman in defense mode and play a card face down, just as you did." The monster was a male centaur with blonde hair and holding a double-edged scythe.

'Is it a magic card or something else?' Yugi wondered as he drew, out loud he said, "I'll play another card face-down and summon the Mystical Elf in attack mode." Yugi summoned another Elvian humanoid, a female with blue skin wearing a full-length, leaf-green dress with wrist-long, billowy, drape-like sleeves that were off-shoulder that was framed in a white, metal winged-design similar to the design of Celtic Guardian's helmet, along with a matching head-ring, long dark blonde hair and her eyes were closed.
Mystical Elf

Monster Type: Spellcaster
Level: 4
ATK/DEF: 800/2000
"Next I play the Book of Secret Arts to raise her attack and defense points by three hundred," Yugi continued as his female elf began to chant under her breath, enveloping herself in a whitish-blue aura, "My turn is over."
Mystical Elf

'Yugi has two face-down cards and three monsters. He must be trying to strengthen his Mystical Elf somehow to withstand my Mystic Horseman's attack. A glow appeared around the Mystical Elf's body. But if I draw the final Blue-Eyes and destroy any one of his monsters, that will take his life points down to 0 anyway.' The Ghoul thought as he then drew a card and laughed. "Prepare for the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" The third and final Blue Eyes appeared with an almighty roar.

Level: 8
ATK/DEF: 3000/2500
"Such a good dragon, wouldn't you say, Yugi? And unlike the last one, this dragon is at full power and ready to destroy any one of your monsters in one shot."
"Yugi!" Tea cried in worry from her, while Joey and Tristan tried to put her back in it.
"Now my dragon attacks with White Lightning!" The ghoul shouted, his dragon roared and fired a blast at Yugi's monsters.
"This duel's not over yet. Activate Mirror Force!" Yugi declared.
"Oh no, he activated a trap card!" The lightning bounced off of a shield that appeared in front of the Mystical Elf. "Nice try, but I'm ready with a trap of my own." the Ghoul turned over his face-down card. "Activate Negate Attack!" A wall of swirling energy formed in front of the dragon, blocking and canceling the attack out. "Negate attack neutralizes any attack thrown at me, even if it's one of my own."
"Yugi, no!" Tea cried.
"Time to end this duel," Yugi stated as he flipped his face down over, revealing a magic card, "With Monster Reborn!"
"No!" The ghoul shouted in panicked-shock. "That allows you to revive any monster lost no matter whose graveyard it's in!"
"I'm glad you know the rules, now, guess which one I want," Yugi said with his own vindictive amusement, "Now be reborn, Blue Eyes White Dragon!" His group let out cheers as the identical white dragon appeared on his field with a roar.
"And what is that going to do for you Yugi?" The ghoul rebuffed, laughing, "Both dragons are equally matched." And it was true, no virus, no traps or spells to affect the stats; the move seemed almost pointless if Yugi wasn't finished.
"You've forgotten about my Mystical Elf," Yugi said motioning to the female elf, who was still softly chanting, making the ghoul stop laughing, "She's been chanting a spell ever since I summoned her to the field," Mystical Elf finally opened her eyes, revealing them to gorgeous cherry-red color, she raised her arms as her chanting got a little louder and her aura began to transfer to Yugi's dragon, "This spell will allow her to transfer her attack power to my Blue Eyes White Dragon." Everyone watched as the Mythical Elf's power dropped and Yugi's White Dragon's increased.

"What?" The ghoul shouted in shocked-despair, "This can't be happening, no!"
"Let this be a message from the real Seto Kaiba, you lose!" Yugi told the ghoul before ordering, "Blue Eyes, obliterate!" His dragon launched its attack, destroying the ghoul's dragon in a bright light as the ghoul's life points depleted completely.
LP: Ghoul: 0
"Pegasus may have helped you escape the Shadow Realm once before," Yugi told the ghoul viciously, "But it won't happen again!" A strange Egyptian eye appeared on Yugi's forehead, as he turned to the Keyblade Wielder. "Sora, now!" Sora nodded as he jumped and slashed at the Ghoul while Yugi held out his hand and the apparition disappeared, with a large crystalline heart coming out of him and fled into the sky while the rest of the Heartless disappeared.
All Pegasus could see was a shadow with glowing yellow eyes and a rainbow-colored eye on his forehead. "Pegasus, I can sense that you are watching. Consider this a warning: nothing you send against me will stop me! And when we finally duel, believe me, victory will be mine! I'll win back my Grandfather's soul and you will pay for all the people you have hurt in the name of your sick little game. I'm coming for you, Pegasus!"
Pegasus's wine glass shattered in his hand. He laughed. "Yugi, you developed your shadow powers quite a bit in such a short amount of time. But when we finally duel, believe me, your Millennium Puzzle will be mine!"
After the duel, Yugi picked up Kaiba's deck. He decided to hold onto it until he could return it to Kaiba himself, wherever he may be. "Kaiba…"
"Nice job, Yugi!" Mokuba cheered as he started to run out of his hiding spot, before he suddenly passed out for some mysterious reason.
Everyone gasped as they ran up to the boy to see if he was alright, as a cloaked figure appeared out of thin air. Sora's eyes widened as he recognized the coat, "NO WAY!"
The figure picked up Mokuba as he chuckled, "See you around kiddo." And with a Corridor of Darkness both of them disappeared before Sora had a chance to catch them.
"Who was that?" Tea asked.
"I don't know, but I recognize the black coat. He's part of a group called Organization XIII, my arch-enemies, but they should be all defeated, especially with their leader gone." Sora explained as he put away his Keyblade.
Tristan crossed his arms, "Guess someone didn't get the memo. Are they gonna be a problem?"
"Definitely." Sora nodded.

Sorry for the long update. Was working on another project "Pokemon Loud Brawlers" (Pokemon x Loud House x Bakugan Battle Brawlers (the original one)) in honor of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet coming out this week.
