"!WARNING! MISSLES HAVE LOCKED ON TO THE SHIP! INITING FLAIRS!"

"Son of a bitch!" Samus hissed to herself.

She was being attacked by Space Pirates who were hunting her down all throughout the galaxy in a remote Solar System. One of planet in the Solar System looked very habitable, so she set her ship to land on that planet.

My ship is too damaged for a safe landing! I'll have to crash land on the planet. This is gonna knock me out, but I'm sure that I'll make it...I hope...The space warrior thought to herself.

And with that, Samus braced herself as her ship crash landed on the planet below...

Meanwhile...on the world below, the Hero of Light and Shadows was traveling with Epona and the Golden Wolf as he saw something that looked like a meteor...

"What in the world is that?!" Link says to himself.

The brunette looked up to the sky and saw a spaceship consumed in flames descending to the earth. Parts of the ship broke off and flew to other regions of the area. Link tensed up as the some of the flames looked like they heading right for them.

"Epona get down!" He cried out as he tugged her towards a nearby tree.

They both duck and cover as the spaceship flies just above them before crashing. The Golden Wolf looked on, observing the spaceship closely. A few moments pass and he looks around his area.

"Stay here..." he told Epona as she grunted in protest.

Slowly, Link approaches the fallen spaceship, and pulled out his Ordon Sword that he was allowed to keep on his travels. The brunette hair young man was shocked as he saw a lone beautiful woman in a skin tight cobalt blue suit covered in bruises and blood slump out of the ship. The back of her suit and the front of her hands had a unique violet pink glow to it.

"Are you alright over there?" he called out.

No response.

Link turned to the Golden Wolf, who nodded in approval.

The Hero of Twilight decided to approach her and gently pick her up and away from her ship that was still smoking. He placed two fingers on her carotid artery. He felt a constant thump signifying that she had a pulse and checked to see if she was still breathing. If she stays here, she'll continue to breathe in the toxic gases off of her ship and certainly die. We'd better get her to a safe area. He thought to himself.

He carried her to Epona, who sniffed the blonde hair woman. After a moment, she licked her face, causing Link to giggle a bit.

"Hmph, it seems like saving her was a good thing after all. Epona likes her." Link teased looking at the Golden Wolf.

The Hero's Shade smiled at the young man's humor.

"There's a nearby stable where we can all rest. Let's go." The Golden Wolf said to his successor and Epona. The horse gave a triumphed pure in response. Smiling, Link gently put the woman on Epona. There, they all traveled a few miles to a nearby stable to rest for the night.

"Link..." The Golden Wolf began.

"Yes?" Link said as they were making their way to the stable.

"Be prepared for anything. I sense that the rising conflict will be more than anything that either of us has seen before." The Golden Wolf warned.

.

The next morning, the beautiful blonde woman finally woke up. She had a huge headache but her wounds have healed. Some bandages wrapped around hands, but she was still in her zero suit. The woman finally noticed a young man preparing some food and water.

"Where am I?" The woman suddenly said.

Link nearly loss the grip of the trey as he was caught off guard.

"Goodness! You're awake! We thought that you were in a coma, you had some serious wounds, but I guess that you healed up faster than we thought."

"I see...so you saved me...?" she managed to say as her body warmed itself up.

Link rubbed his head and flustered a bit.

"I just happened to be around the area where you crashed landed. That's when me, my horse, and my...father...decided to take you to a nearby stable where you could recover. It was no big deal."

"Thank you," the woman said in a genuine tone.

"No problem. I've never seen a spaceship before, and I've only read them in books. I don't think that you're from here, as in from this planet. Oh, um, my name is Link by the way. Nice to meet you."

Samus chuckled a bit to herself. He's got a good sense of humor, and that food smells really good.

"Yeah, you're right, I'm not from this planet. And...my name is Samus, Samus Aran, nice to meet you too."

Link cleared up his throat at that last phrase.

"So...what's brought you here to this world?" asked the swordsman.

"Oh...ahh..." Samus hesitated. She wanted to keep a low profile especially considering that she's a wanted woman across the galaxy at this point. Link saw the discomfort in her face and retracted. He looked away with shame.

"Sorry, I shouldn't have asked that."

"It's not your fault, I mean..." she looked around to see who else could hear what she's discussing with Link.

"Listen...Link, thank you for saving me, I really appreciated that, but I need to get my gear back. It was scattered through the land mountains from here as I crash landed here on this planet."

She got up on her own two feet, stretching her body with a lot of flexibility. Link tried his best not to stare.

"Got it. Well, food's here and ready for you, I'm going to feed my horse," said Link as he made his way outside.

"Understood. Thanks again." replied the lone hunter.

He's a very compassionate young man - Quite handsome if I may say so myself. There's a certain aura in his presence that makes me feel at ease. I'm lucky to have been saved by him, although...I'm not sure if I can trust him...or anyone right now, thought Samus.

She's amazing, she must be some kind of space warrior. Gorgeous as she is, she's so humbled and humane, despite being from another planet, Link thought to himself.

A few minutes passed, Epona and Samus finished their respective meals. The Golden Wolf watched from a distance, not making his presence known to Samus yet. Link paid the stable owner for the bed and the food before preparing to leave, but waited for Samus to get out before he left. When she got out of the stable, they made eye contact with each other.

"Thanks again for helping me." stated Samus.

"No problem, do you...well..." Link hesitated just like Samus, he wanted to ask if he could come along and help her in her journey, but respected her privacy more.

"Good luck in your journey." he finished with a respectful bow.

"Same to you too." she replied returning the gesture.

With that, Link hopped onto Epona, who grunted in disappointed.

Believe me, I know why you're upset Epona, but I have to respect her choice. I learned that hard lesson over the past two years...

Samus headed back to her ship, while Link headed in the opposite direction. The Golden Wolf was already in front of Link, guiding him once again as they traveled the world for their training.

.

.

.

Dozens of minutes passed as Link's gut tugged at him. "Did I say the right things this time, Father? Did I make the right choice?" Link asked the Golden Wolf as they all traveled through the grass.

The Hero of Time took a moment before answering.

"You listened to your courage, something that a normal human could not do. There's nothing to be ashamed of." responded the wise wolf.

Suddenly, the sky darkened. They both looked up and saw a huge spaceship, way larger than Samus' that sounded like a thunderstorm. It was headed in the direction where he came from. To be more specific, that was the area where the land of Hyrule laid, and where he met Samus...

He couldn't give his gut an excuse any longer, he tugged at Epona to turn around, not even discussing it with the Hero's Shade first. The iconic brown horse gallantly purred, excited at the change of pace, and they made a dash back to the stable's direction.

The Golden Wolf smiled upon seeing Link take action without even saying anything.

Your training has truly paid off, huh Link? He said to himself as he quickly chase down the horse and the hero on his paws.

When Link got there after a few minutes, Link cursed himself, shocked at what he saw. Blood was splattered all over the outside building part of the stable. Strange alien-like creatures surrounded the nearby guests. Some of them were covered in blood while one of them was clearly dead. Immediately, he jumped off Epona and drew his sword. He easily cut down the aliens, one by one, as their green blood dripped from his Ordon Sword. He looked back at the rest of them who were relieved.

"Th-Thank you sir!" One of them said.

"Get inside and hide! Tell me, was there more?! Which way did they go?!" Link asked.

"They went in the direction of that young lady that you were with - why did you two separate from each other?!" an old woman called out.

Link was a bit stunned himself at the question, but regardless, he continued. "Thank you all, and stay safe!"

With that, he whistle to Epona, and she ran to him. Link hop on without making her slow down, and whipped her respectfully to go faster.

I prey that I am not too late!

Meanwhile, Samus had taken the time to set her ship to auto repair itself. She was able to put in her zero suit to track her missing gear. It told her that all of her gear fell in the land known as Hyrule. The stranded space hunter traveled on foot from her ship.

Her peaceful travel was short lived, as the same colossal ship dropped Space Pirates in her area. Samus cursed under her breath as she knew that without her Varia Suit, things wouldn't be so easy. Dozens of them spawned in on her, and she put her guard up. One of them tried to attack her, but she shot it with her gun, paralyzing it. A kick to the head completely decapitated it. All hell broke lose and they began their barrage of shots at her. She dodged all of their bullets effortlessly. Samus rinsed and repeated her strategy with a lot of them, until they pulled their trump card...

"But that's impossible!" Samus said.

Blue radioactive liquid coursed through their suits and into their weapons. The pirates fired again, as their bullets now contained Phazon, something that should've been terminated along with the planet Phaaze. She was able to dodge them, but needed more effort to do so. She managed to shoot one of them, but her kicks no longer decapitated them but bruised their skulls. It slightly burned her zero suit. More pirates became aggressive with their attacks, almost catching Samus off guard. She then used their own weapons against them by making them firing their own pirates by mistake.

This would be a cake walk even if I just had my god damn power suit! Samus cursed to herself.

But low and behold, a young man and his horse finally caught up to her. Wasting no time, he slashed at the space pirates, striking them down. He quickly realized that his attacks weren't as effective and only managed to bruise them similarly to Samus.

Since when was he...?! Samus initially thought to herself but knew that this wasn't the time for questions.

Without saying a word, they both worked together to defeat the rest of them, one at a time. Link hopped off his trusty horse and immediately followed into a helm splitter attack in one transition. He used his Hylian Shield to deflect the Phazon infused bullets back at the Space Pirates, giving them a taste of their own medicine. The swordsman used his other techniques such as the jump strike and back slice, slicing them down one by one. Samus took note of this a was impressed, but wasn't going to sit back and let Link have all of the fun. She continued to show off combos of her own, even with her handicap equipment. The space warrior turned her gun into a lash and then to a golden lightsaber, cutting her foes down. The twilight knight was impressed just as much as Samus was seeing her movements.

It took them a few minutes, but the battle was won. When Link checked on Epona, he wondered if he should say something to Samus. He looked at his horse and stroked her hair softly. For one reason to another, Epona smiled at Link and looked in the direction that was behind him. Link realized this and slowly turn around to see the blonde beautiful woman standing feet behind him yet again. This time she was smiling, which caused Link to fluster a bit.

"You got some nice skills." said Samus. Little did he know that it was rare for this galactic warrior to directly compliment anyone.

"I just learned a few moves here and there." he responded concealing his Ordon Sword.

"Believe me, I've seen what a 'few moves here and there' look like, you clearly are a master swordsman, or at the least have been taught by one."

Link finally let out a warm smile, he realized The Hero's Shade was watching over them again.

"Yeah, you could say that too. You're really skilled yourself too." Link commented.

A small pause made them hear both the wind breeze in their ears.

"Your name was Link, right? Tell me, what's your occupation in this world?"

Link thought for a moment on this one. I could say that I am the Hero of Twilight, trained by the Hero of Time, worked alongside the Twilight Princess to save both Hyrule and the Twilight Realm from the clutches of the evil demon lord Ganondorf...BUT I'll keep it close to my chest for now.

"Right now...I'm just a traveler. I've been training with my Father while accompanied by my trusty horse - Epona - for about two years now. However, after that spaceship flew by me, I realized that it was heading into your dir-eh well-the direction of my homeland: Hyrule. Before we cleaned up these enemies, I saw some of the people attacked by the same alien like creatures. Now, I need to go back to my homeland and make sure that they are safe."

Samus titled her head.

"That's right. Your father...you mentioned him before but I haven't seen him yet..." She asked confused looking around.

Link chuckled and pointed behind Samus to The Golden Wolf that was watching them from a distance.

Samus was stunned, I never even knew that he was there...but isn't that a...Golden Wolf?

"Long story short, my old man can transform into a Golden Wolf." Link clarified.

Samus turned back to Link and smiled.

"I've seen all kinds of transformations in my journeys. This one is actually pretty cool." Samus said in approval.

Link tried his best to hold back his chuckle, but Samus encouraged him by chuckling herself - allowing them to share their first laugh together.

"It seems that you're doing a lot better than me at these days. Doing admirable things like traveling and training with your father..." she said looking away sad as she fixed her hair.

Link couldn't help but frown,

"What do you mean by 'better than you'?" but then the brunette young man realized that his question could have been a bit too personal.

Samus gave him a sad expression again. This information could change the way Link may see her, but nonetheless, she answered his question.

"I've been hunted by the galactic federation for destroying a dangerous specie threatening to annihilate the universe. They didn't know what they were dealing with, but with the help of my late Commander, we were able to stop them from experimenting with what they could not control. Those aliens that you saw earlier were Space Pirates, ruthless creatures who seek to take over the galaxy as well. I've been battling with them independently for a little less than a decade now."

Link took a moment to take all of that information in.

"I see..."

Samus put her hands behind her back. In a rare moment, there was a hint of Samus blushing. It was rare to find herself in this predicament.

"Listen...this is just a suggestion, and if you don't want to, then that's completely understandable, but I was thinking...why don't we travel together back to Hyrule? We both are heading there for our own respective reasons, but perhaps it'd be more efficient if we had each other's back like we did just now."

The Hero of Twilight couldn't believe his ears. Am I imagining this?

Epona quickly snapped Link out of his daze by snorting near his ear. He yelped and gave a irritated yet innocent look at his noble steed. Samus giggled at this sight. The swordsman took a deep breath,

"That sounds good with me." He offered his hand for a handshake. Her ocean eyes shimmered as she shook his hand.

Little did they know that this would be a long journey, that would involve blood, sweat, and tears to complete.

Link hopped back on Epona, who then took the opportunity again to sniff Samus and lick her face.

"Sorry, she does that when she likes someone." Link stated trying to gently tug Epona away from her face.

Samus smiled, and chuckled a bit at Epona and then placed her forehead on her head.

"I don't mind." she added. Subsequently, she gently pressed her lips against Epona's head. Seeing that brought many memories back to the former goat handler.

"Why don't you hop on?" Link said as he gestured his head behind him.

"It'd be my pleasure." Samus replied.

As if she was showing off, Samus backflipped many feet above the ground and landed firmly behind Link. Neither could see each other's face's at their angles, but both of them where smiling.

The Golden Wolf made his way to the three of them.

"It seems like you found a new partner." acknowledged the Golden Wolf with a smile.

Link somewhat blushed but fortunately for him, the blonde space warrior could not see his face.

"I'm Samus Aran, Sir." she responded to The Golden Wolf.

The Golden Wolf shook his head,

"No need to call me Sir. Consider me as just an 'Old Man' for now." The Golden Wolf stated as he looked towards Link.

Samus smiled, but nodded respectfully.

"Now then, let's go!" The Hero's Shade proclaimed as he dashed towards the land of Hyrule.

With all of the cards in place, Link commands Epona to gallop. She purred triumphally and rose her two front feet. Samus almost fell off but hugged Link's stomach for support. Even through the fabric of his clothes, she felt the battle hardened abs of the blue eyed warrior. Both parties felt electricity race through their veins. Epona set off, faster than Samus expected a regular horse to be, as they all set off for Hyrule again.

Author's Note - Miscellaneous Things to Keep in Mind

.

.

This fanfic is a fusion from Twilight Princess's Manga (Every Volume) and the events after Metroid Fusion. I'm also using some areas in the Twilight Princess' manga universe, meaning that some areas and characters that were in the manga are still present to this day, i.e. Link's hometown and everyone in it, the young woman who helped Link get patched up (now in Ordon Village due to continuity). I'm also using the manga version of characters, so just like Link, all of their personalities and respective individual experiences contribute to this as well.

Age - Long story short, in this fanfic, Link is 21, Samus is 27, Midna and Zelda are 22.

Height - Loooong story short, Link is now 6ft 6inches, Samus is 6ft 3inches, Midna is 6ft 4inches, Zelda is roughly 5ft 9inches.

Thanks for reading the prologue, see y'all in the next chapter!
