Nah, I'm Good
Disclaimers I don't own the Loud House, please support any to all official releases.
As adults we become more free to choose the time as to when we start our day and when we end it based on the carrier choice and opportunities we're given.
And on some rare occasions, we get full reign of being able to live and run the lives we want.
Take example of Lincoln Loud, whom in the last 13 years has changed a lot from a tween boy in middle school to an independent adult of society as his day doesn't start anywhere as early as noon to as late as 2 in the afternoon.
Slipping out of bed wearing his Ace Savvy pajama bottoms and an orange hoodie, he dragged his feet into the bathroom to brush his teeth and examine himself.
His hair was long and shaggy he hadn't shave for almost a month, and if his sisters were to see him right now in an attempt to go out in public, they'd force him to go to a beauty spa first and foremost.
Laughing underneath his breath, he finally exited his room and made himself a large bowl of cereal before planting his butt on the couch to continue binge watching this new cartoons and even reruns of some of his favorite shows until 4 o'clock hits.
Cause around that time, he was normally visited by the one family member he allows to see him in his life.
"Lincoln, I'm coming in" said a teenage girl as she had long light blonde hair kept in a short ponytail with a large black bow as she wore a black on lavender dress, tights, and checkered lavender and nova blue slip ons.
"Hey Lily, how you doing girl" asked Lincoln with a warm smile, "Good, but god is your apartment always so cold even on the most hottest day of the year" said Lily as she made her way next to her brother and buried herself underneath the blanket he was using.
"You say that like it's a bad thing" said Lincoln as he cuddled up close to Lily as they began to spoon.
"So how you doing in school" asked Lincoln, "Good, honestly it feels kind of lonely knowing that I'm the last Loud kid to attend the public school system since all of our sister graduated long before me" said Lily.
"Other than that, I'm keeping good grades and I'm entering an art contest, with hopes of earning first place" said Lily, "I've no doubt you'll win" said Lincoln with a warm smile.
"I know, which is why you should come" said Lily, "Hmm, I don't know, maybe I can stream it from dad's phone" said Lincoln jokingly as Lily pouted and pluck a hair from his chin.
"Ow" said Lincoln, "Hey don't be playing with a young teenage girls heart now, even if you are my big brother" said Lily with her cheeks puffed up.
"Right, I'm sorry, I'll be sure to attend your event" said Lincoln as Lily continued to pout, "fine, but you got to shave and wear real pants before coming as punishment for making me upset" said Lily.
"I swear to wear real pants and shave my beard down" said Lincoln as he finally got Lily to smile again.
"Good, now since you mentioned up mom and dad, they're doing good, dad finally opened his 5th restaurant, and his 1st one out of the county, and mom has earned her 4 golden plume award" said Lily.
"Sweet, we should definitely celebrate at one of the old man's restaurant just between the 4 of us" said Lincoln, "You mean the 13 of us" said Lily as Lincoln's face dropped.
"Lincoln, you know our sisters will always began at big milestone events, including my art competition" said Lily, "I know, I just… I'm willing to suck it up just for you on your very special day, but honestly I'd rather to avoid them all" said Lincoln.
As much as Lily wanted to voice her opinion about her brother's resentfulness, she wouldn't because she understands why he lives alone and almost isolated from the world, that and she didn't want to risk breaking the bond she has as the one sister who's close to their only brother as requested by her sisters.
"Maybe we can arrange for something small and private between mom and dad, but Lincoln, they're our family and they love you, you should let them in, or at least give them a call" said Lily.
"Nah, I'm good" said Lincoln with a smile as Lily sighed in defeat, before her tummy rumbled.
"You hungry kid" asked Lincoln, "Yeah" stated Lily with a smile as Lincoln made the tough choice of getting out of his perfectly warm, comfortable spot with Lily, much to her dismay as well, in order to make them both some chicken tenders and tater tots.
Later
After spending a few hours just cuddling against her brother, Lily finally returned back home.
The same home she and her family grew up in after all these years, and what many of the neighbors and residence had called the loudest house in Royal Woods.
However that severely changed over the years especially since Lucy was in charge, and then it got progressively more quieter in the years to come, with a few exceptions here and there.
"Mom, dad, I'm back from visiting Lincoln" said Lily as she began to kick her shoes off and slid her backpack off.
"Welcome back sweetie" greeted Rita as she now wore thinker wool sweater and jeggings as she was writing out her speech in the larger than free spaced kitchen table.
"You just made it on time for dinner sweet child of mine" said Lynn Sr. as he long since shaved his whole head for both kitchen safety reasons and aesthetics as he's been hitting the gym and gain some muscle mass in recent years as he came out the kitchen in an aqua green polo and apron.
"Thanks" said Lily as they sat around and began to share a meal as a family like they do every night.
"So how's your brother" asked Rita, "He's the same really, living the life as a shut in and a NEET" said Lily as she began to frown a little to see her brother like this.
It's a shame really since out of all their children, Rita and Lynn Sr. had high hopes for Lincoln to finish school, go to college, and work whatever dream 9 to 5 job he wanted while settling down with the right woman, or man, they don't judge, and be visiting them all year round.
That all change when back in 2016 cryptocurrency became public knowledge, and for the next few years, Lincoln manage to save and invest, before selling it all before the great crypto currency crash came to an end in 22.
Still against all odds, to be a high school billionaire was definitely unheard of as Lincoln chose to impulsively drop out of school and move out on his own.
While that alone would make any parent feel some level of mixed emotions, what they didn't expect was for the knowledge of their son being a billionaire would not only affect him, but the people around him.
The first people to ask for his money was his family, and while Rita and Lynn Sr. aren't proud to admit they did also asked for some money from their son, they, at least to Lincoln's eyes, did it for noble reasons and not for personal gain.
Still the way how his sisters acted at first wasn't so bad, however they became progressively more greedy and determined to live off their brother and live the rich royal life their ancestors did centuries ago.
However it became to much for Lincoln, and before he knew it, his sisters were quick to request and blow a million dollars in a span of a week.
And before he knew it, many acquaintances, including his friends, came to ask for his money, while gaining nothing in return.
So having enough of everyone's BS, Lincoln chose to shut himself from the world and bought an apartment complex that while remained vacant, was available for those who want to rent and continue to work, for a more than reasonable price.
Still the place became infamously known as the place where the richest man in Royal Woods lived, as there was a time where Lincoln would hire mercenaries to keep people, including his family away from him for a time.
But as the years passed, the burning flame that was Lincoln Loud, Billionaire extraordinaire soon died down as people went about and respected the mans more than humble life style.
Granted their were still those who'd bother him for money every now and again, but he always had the cops number on speed dial.
And after all the time, after all these years, Lincoln chose to never connect with his sisters, sans Lily, even though they've all since grown and mellowed out.
While there was an attempt to have a small family gathering for Lori's wedding, it ended with Lincoln realizing that he was more happier alone and by himself, without any desire to someday settle down and having a family of his own as he had a lot of space to himself, even if it was in a 2 bedroom apartment, without dealing with loud noise, bathroom lines, and having to remember 20+ peoples likes and dislikes anymore.
Nope he was a man content with his current living conditions and so far showed no desire to ever break from it, any time soon.
"Chin up kiddo, I'm sure if we give him a little more time, your big brother will be more than ready to come out and hang with the family again" said Lynn Sr., "I hope so dad" said Lily as the 3 continued to eat in silence before Lily retired to her room and decided to group chat with her sisters to let them know how Lincoln was doing.
While a lot of them wanted nothing more than to connect with their now estranged brother, no one was willing to make the first step as Lily was left with a headache of her own.
Come on Lily, think, how can you make your family one again, thought Lily as she laid in bed trying to come up with a plan, but drew a blank before getting a notification on her phone.
Along with following her sisters, Lily also followed the one man Lincoln still talked to every now and then, and it was his best friend Clyde, who went on and took over the Ace Savvy series as the current creator.
What's more it seemed that he just announced he was planning to not only help, but act in its newest movie.
"Good for you Clyde" said Lily with a smile as she like and reposted it before calling it a night, unaware that this was the stepping stone to what might be her chance to reunite with her brother.
So I had this idea in the back of my head, for like the longest, and I mean the longest time, like I was planning to write this for the last 3 years, however I just couldn't write the first perfect chapter to kick start it until today, thanks to a small case of depression in my current temporary NEET state, along with this cementing myself to break my writers block, even though there was a genuine reason to it.
So until next time, I will have the next chapter really explore and develop Lincoln and Lily's relationship, be safe, be good people, and please support your local fandom communities.
