Opposites Attract.
Ever heard of the saying: Opposites Attract? This saying can hold several meanings, but the best one is when it's used to describe two people who on first glance, shouldn't get along because they are so different, yet they somehow still become close friends, and in some cases, even lovers. Well that saying really applies for the world we are in now, a world where the most unlikely of people can become the closest of friends. This brings us to two girls, who at first glance shouldn't be able to stand each other. If anything, most would assume they would hate each other. And yet, they became very, very close.
The first girl has brown hair in a bob cut with blunt bangs and a French-braid styled headband that matches her hair color. Her eyes are red, and she has an overall tomboyish look, while also looking more elegant, so a healthy mix of both. This girl is Makoto Niijima, the student council president of Shujin Academy who lives a double life as the Phantom Thief known to her friends as Queen. Together with the Phantom Thieves, she helped change the heart of corrupt or down right evil people in power and slowly make the world a better place.
The second girl also has short brown hair, only with left-parted bangs and brown eyes. Unlike Makoto, she is full tomboy in her appearance, with a rough but also beautiful look. This girl is Asuka Kazama, a martial artist who had quite the reputation of being a bit of a trouble maker. She is known for breaking up fights in her neighborhood regularly... by knocking out everyone involved in it. Some rumors says she has beaten up entire gangs. Rumors supported by the fact she often shows up in school with bruises and on a few occasions, with a busted lip. And as a result she's been at the police station more than a few times.
These two are indeed very different. Makoto is a model student, with very high grades, very good at following the rules, has a cool head, and takes her job as the student council president very seriously. Asuka on the other hand... She is a rule breaker, she often gets in to trouble, has a temper, and has a bad habit of being nosy, which has lead her to getting involved in dangerous situations that had nothing to do with her. And while she isn't and idiot, in fact she is smarter than many would believe, due to her bad habits, she rarely studies, which leaves her grades on an average level at best. So on first glance these two should dislike each other a lot... But the truth is, they are dating. How? Well ain't that a fun mystery? But more on that later.
There is at least one thing they have in common: They love martial arts. So right now they were at a gym, both of them wearing traditional Japanese gymwear. But they weren't there just to work out. Nope, they were there for something much more fun.
"Are you sure we really have this whole room for ourselves?" Makoto asked as they entered the training room.
"My father knows the guy who owns this place. He said it's all ours as long we only come here during the days it's closed. No way he would let us have it during a busy day" Asuka explained while stretching her arms "But he always tells me not to break anything, or I'll get banned. Seriously, so I put a hole in one of his walls once, and that was enough for him to warn me every time I want to come here".
"Why am I not surprised?" Makoto asked as she shook her head. Of course Asuka would destroy something, she isn't exactly careful.
Asuka only gave her a small smirk before getting back to business "Ok, we should warm up before we begin".
Makoto nods in agreement, knowing full well that one should always do a proper warm up before a work out to avoid a painful muscle pull. Both girls began their warm ups, loosening up their joints and making sure their muscles were ready for what's to come. While Asuka was doing her warm ups, she glanced at Makoto, who was in the middle of doing some squats... which of course gave Asuka quite the view of Makoto's butt. Makoto's ass was perfectly balanced, not to big and not to small, at least, that's what Asuka was thinking anyway.
Asuka smirked and walked up behind her "Need some help?".
"Yes, if you could hold me as I squat down then-" Makoto began before she suddenly gasped and her face turned red as she felt Asuka grab her rear, causing her to quickly stand up and glare at Asuka with a clear blush on her face "What do you think you're doing!?".
Asuka smiled innocently "You told me to hold you".
"I meant hold my sides, you pervert!" Makoto said, still with a red face.
"Sorry, but those clothes are really hugging your body, and your ass... You can't really blame me for wanting a quick grab. Besides, you are my girlfriend, so if anyone has earned the right to touch you, it's me" Asuka said, her smile never leaving her face.
Makoto glares for a moment before she sighs "Let's just get started".
Asuka nods and they take a few steps away from each other. Now for the reason why they are here. They are here for sparring. Makoto had been taught in Aikido for self defense, so she knew how to fight. Meanwhile, Asuka knew her own family fighting style, called Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts... Which was really a mixed martial art of traditional Japanese Jujutsu, but Asuka's bloodline had put their own spin on it. Regardless of names, both girls were no strangers to fighting, so now it was finally time to see which one of them were the best.
"Remember babe. We may only be sparring, but unless you want to get knocked out, you better treat this like a real fight. Don't think I'll go easy on you just because we're dating" Asuka said as she got ready.
Makoto smiled and got ready as well "I would be insulted if you did. Don't hold back, show me everything you got. Because I won't hold back".
Asuka smirked, there is the girl she fell in love with. This will be fun.
The sparring match finally began. Asuka made the first move, throwing a strong punch which Makoto's Aikido training allowed her deflect and she made a move to redirect Asuka's movement and use the force of her own punch against her. However, Asuka also very skilled at turning an opponent's strength against them, so instead of following through with her punch completely, she pulled back before throwing a swift kick, which Makoto was forced to block, but the force of the kick made her stumble back. Had they been fighting in the Metaverse, Makoto could've won fairly easily, since she would have access to her full power there. But they are in the real world now, and Asuka is easily stronger than her. Makoto have to be smart, or she will be floored right away.
"Come on babe, don't tell me that-" Before Asuka could finish, Makoto quickly closed the distance.
Now completely taken by surprise, Asuka was unable to prevent a punch to her abdomen. Makoto followed up the initial hit with a swift series of blows which forced Asuka back several steps, clearly not prepared for such a sudden onslaught. At the end of her combo, Makoto finished it of with a swift kick which almost knocked Asuka down. Asuka took several steps back to gain some distance, before looking at Makoto in clear shock.
"What the hell was that? I know for a fact that wasn't Aikido!" Asuka said, since the attacks Makoto hit her with felt mor like kick boxing than Aikido.
"I never said it was everything I knew. You are not the only one with a few tricks up their sleeves" Makoto said with a confidant smile, truth is, while she didn't have her powers from the Metaverse, her experience there has taught her more than a few tricks, and a defensive style like Aikido is best paired with something more offensive focused, to give her a more balanced fighting style.
"Point taken. Hope you enjoyed that, because you are not catching me of guard again" Asuka declared as she got ready to continue.
Makoto did the same. She knew better than to assume Asuka would fall for the same trick twice. Asuka may not be to brilliant when it comes to school work, but in martial arts she's a genius, thanks to having grown up in a martial art family. Now that she knows Makoto has an offense to balance her defense, she will be more ready for what Makoto might throw at her. Makoto needs to fight smart and keep her own guard up.
Makoto ran forward, only to receive a roundhouse kick from Asuka, which she blocked. Asuka knew she would and quickly switched to a punch. Makoto ducked at exactly the right moment, and brought her hand up, grabbing Asuka's wrist and attempted to twist it upwards, but Asuka quickly used her free hand to grab Makoto's arm, and in a swift motion, she flipped Makoto over her and threw in to the floor. Makoto grunted but rolled away before Asuka could get a chance to pin her, she then quickly got back on her feet and looked at a smiling Asuka, who's face clearly said 'Now we're even'.
They clashed again, only this time they were more even, blocking or dodging each of the other's blows. But Asuka's greater experience in martial arts was giving her an advantage. Sure Makoto's experience in the Metaverse did help, but she didn't have access to her full combative arsenal. And she wasn't fighting a shadow this time. Most shadows were only trying to overpower her with sheer force and destructive capabilities, leaving Makoto with very limited experience against properly trained opponents. And against Asuka who's been practicing her fighting style ever since she was a kid, Makoto knew she could never hope to outfight her, so she needs to outsmart her.
But even that proved easier said than done as Asuka wasn't giving her a second to form a plan. And in the end Asuka was successful in flipping Makoto over, making her land on her back and quickly got on top of her. Makoto looked up to see Asuka smirking down at her.
"Looks like I won" Asuka said.
Makoto looked at her for a moment "Well, are you just going to stare at me? Or will you claim your price kiss?".
Asuka blinked and blushed a little "Well, if you want-".
But the second Asuka relaxed her grip, Makoto quickly broke free and managed to switch positions. Now it was Asuka's turn to be pinned and looked up at Makoto's red eyes who was giving her a similar look to the one she gave Makoto before... She played her like a fiddle.
"That... was a dirty move" Asuka said, sounding really annoyed.
"You were the one who said we should treat this like a real fight. Sometimes if you want to win, you need to trick your opponent" Makoto said.
Asuka pouts "Can I still get a kiss?".
Makoto rolled her eyes but leaned down and kissed Asuka on the lips. Both closed their eyes, allowing the warm feeling of the kiss to relax their bodies. Asuka wrapped her arms around Makoto as the kiss grew deeper, even their tongues began touching. Asuka rubbed Makoto's back, before her hand slowly drifted downwards towards Makoto's butt. Only then did the kiss end.
"Hey, watch your hands" Makoto warned with a blush.
"Come on Makoto. We are alone, no one is going to walk in on us. No harm in getting a little more adventures" Asuka said.
"That's not the point... I'm not ready for... that... Not yet" Makoto said, blushing more.
Asuka sighed "I wasn't talking about sex, Makoto".
Makoto looked back a little surprised "What?".
"Sure I grope you from time to time, but I'm only messing with you and your reactions are always so cute. But I would never try to pressure you in to something like that. Do I want it? Sure, one day. But if and when that time comes, I want it to be when we are both ready" Asuka explained.
Makoto looked down, now feeling guilty "I'm sorry... You are just always so bold and confident... It's hard to keep up with you sometimes".
Asuka rubbed her cheek "I am aware of that. You are one of the only people I've met who can put up with my stubbornness. Guess that is one of the many things I love about you".
Makoto smiled "I love you too, Asuka. Yeah you are very stubborn, but putting up with you is not to hard when you have friends like mine".
"If you say so. Are they ok with us?" Asuka asked.
"Of course they are. They really want to meet you, and I'm sure you would get along with them just fine" Makoto assured.
"It's not your friends I'm worried about meeting..." Asuka trailed of.
Makoto knew right away who she meant... She was talking about Makoto's older sister, Sae. Makoto hasn't told her sister that she's dating Asuka yet... While her friends would accept Asuka with open arms, Sae would take some convincing. Asuka is nearly the complete opposite of both the Niijima sisters, so convincing Sae that she's a good girlfriend for her younger sister would be a challenge.
"Ok Asuka, let's do it!" Makoto declared, looking very determined.
Asuka blinked and blushed "But you said you weren't ready. I mean, I'm not unwilling, but give me a moment to prepare myself. And I believe either the showers or a bed would be better for-".
"I did not mean that, you pervert! I meant let's go talk to Sae and tell her about us" Makoto said.
"Oh... Are you sure that's a good idea? I heard your sister's mind isn't very easy to open" Asuka said.
Makoto closed her eyes and sighed before opening them again "I admit, my sister can be... difficult at times. But behind her rough exterior, she does care about more than her work. I'm sure she will accept us if we can prove that our love is real. And even if by the small chance she doesn't accept us, I won't care. I love you Asuka, and I don't need Sae's approval to date you".
Asuka looked touched by her words "Makoto...".
"We can meet my friends first if you want to do the easy part first. Even if Sae doesn't approve, we will still have them" Makoto said before smiling "But like I said, Sae's heart is not made of ice. Sure it will take some convincing, but I'm sure she will accept us".
Asuka thinks about it for a moment before she nods "Ok, Makoto. As long as we are together, we can do anything".
Makoto finally gets of her and helps her up "I love you, Asuka Kazama".
"I love you too, Makoto Niijima" Asuka said with a smile.
With that, both shared another deep kiss. Nothing and no one would split them up. Because their love, is real.
The saying is true: Opposites Attract.

Well there you go. This is an idea that popped in to my head randomly. Tekken X Persona, two games I really love. I didn't have any major ideas for a big story, so for now, I decided to simply decided to make a quick one shot for two of my favorite characters.

This was meant to only be a one shot. But maybe I will make more in the future if enough people want it. But until then, please tell me what you think of this chapter first.
