(Just a warning Angelus is an asshole for a lot of this story. He's how I would imagine a human Angelus would be, uncaring, cocky, selfish and misogynistic.)
The first day of senior year dawned on Sunnydale High much like any other, sunny, hot and dry. The halls were soon bustling with students, but it was the seniors that ruled the school. Correction, the jocks and cheerleaders ruled the school. Everyone else was just there to get in their way.
Angelus Murphy walked down the hall to his locker, tall, well built with brown hair and brown eyes. He had an air of importance that surrounded him and no one dared question it. Every girl in school wanted him and every boy wanted to be him. Oh, and he knew it. He knew how gorgeous he was. He may have been dating head cheerleader Darla McKinnon since sophomore year but it was no secret how he liked to break in the younger and newer girls who weren't aware of his reputation.
He would pursue them, and they usually fell at his feet. Once he'd bedded them he cast them aside like they meant nothing. Which they didn't, to him. He had been leaving a trail of broken hearts wherever he went since his freshman year. No one questioned why Darla put up with him repeatedly cheating on her, least of all her. As far as she was concerned she was dating the captain of the football team, she was the one who he always came back to therefore she could forgive his transgressions as long as he didn't flaunt them in her face (which he still did, but she chose to overlook those).
As Angelus was putting his things in his locker Darla flung herself at him. Throwing her arms around his neck and pulling his head down for a kiss she pressed herself against him. "Are you coming over again tonight?" She purred in his ear, "My parents won't be home from Mexico until the weekend. We could spend the evening in the hot tub again."
Angelus raised an eyebrow at her, memories of the previous weekend where they spent most of their time naked in her hot tub flashing through his head. He was just about to reply when there was a commotion just across the hall. Turning to see what was going on he was suddenly speechless. A small blonde girl had bumped into Xander Harris and her books and the contents of her bag were strewn across the floor. He couldn't hear what Harris said to her but she suddenly laughed and the sound was like music, it was beautiful.
His mouth dropped open as she stood up still talking to Harris. Her hair cascaded over her shoulders in golden waves, her skin was lightly tanned and Angelus found himself wondering what it tasted like. His eyes roved over her body, over the black shirt she wore that said: "Bite Me". The shirt was tight over her breasts and he could see the outline of her nipples through the thin material. His gaze moved further down over the sliver of tanned skin between her shirt and her short light blue skirt, down her long tanned legs to her black wedge sandals.
He was suddenly very aroused. He wanted this girl. She looked new, which was all the better, she wouldn't know about his reputation before he could have her. He realised that Darla was talking to him. "...imagine being that clumsy! And on your first day! Social suicide. Those clothes! Where does she shop? Walmart?" Darla trailed off into a high pitched laugh that went right through him. Nothing like the melody of the new girl's laughter just moments ago.
Knowing what would shut her up and take care of his now very prominent arousal problem he grabbed Darla's hand and pulled her to the nearest janitor's closet. Locking the door behind him he slammed her into the wall face first. "My my Angelus you have missed me, we only saw each other last night." Ignoring her he quickly shoved her skirt up to her waist and yanked her panties down whilst opening his pants.
Not bothering to make sure she was ready for him he entered her quickly. Darla let out a squeak in pain, "Fucking hell Angelus at least make sure I'm wet first!" He just ignored her, wishing she would shut up. He pounded into her, his eyes squeezed shut. All he could see were those breasts that had "Bite Me" stretched across them, her nipples hard against her shirt. Those long tanned legs that he knew would feel wonderful tightly wrapped around his waist. The long honey-coloured hair that bounced as she moved that delectable body. The melodic sound of her laugh. Grunting he quickly came, spilling himself inside Darla.
Opening his eyes, he pulled out of her and began tucking himself back into his pants. "What the fuck was that?" Darla asked in an angry whisper as she pulled her panties back up and fixed her skirt. "I'm not one of your little naive whores that you can just fuck and go, Angelus!"
Angelus looked at her then, eyes narrowing he said with a shrug of his shoulders, "If you're not happy I'm sure there's plenty of other guys who'd be happy to pleasure you, Darla. Of course, none of them are captain of the football team and well if you start fucking other guys we'd have a problem."
He turned and left her standing there fuming. Quickly realising what he meant she ran after him trying to take it back. "Now I didn't mean I wasn't happy," she corrected quickly. "Just surprised is all." She threaded her arm through his as they walked to class. Angelus looked down at her, a smug smile on his face. He knew she'd never break up with him, her social standing was too important to her. He could treat her or any other girl any way he wanted and no one could do a damn thing. As they entered English class, his thoughts returned to a certain small blonde. He was going to have fun breaking that one in, she just screamed virgin.
So far the morning wasn't going very well for Buffy. First, her mom had reprimanded her over her choice of outfit, specifically her shirt. Yes, she knew that Sunnydale was supposed to be a fresh start, yes she was going to try this time and no she would make sure to stay away from troublemakers and gangs. That was what she'd told her mom. She thought her outfit was quite demure compared to what she used to wear. She wasn't wearing leather which used to be a must for her outfits, her skirt was much longer than she'd usually wear and well the shirt was pretty tame compared to some of the shirts in her closet. It wasn't her fault her mom refused to buy her new clothes. She had to make do with what she had, and if she was going to try and make it through senior year without getting into trouble she'd need new clothes at some point soon. Almost everything she owned screamed wild child.
Next, she'd had the half-hour from hell stuck in Principal Snyder's office. He'd spent that half-hour telling her what a bad apple she was, how he was just waiting for her to make a wrong move so he could expel her and how if it was up to him she would never have been let into his school. Unfortunately for him, the school board had overruled him. He then told her to not even think about bringing matches into school and not to go anywhere near the gym unless it was for PE. She'd rolled her eyes at that one. It wasn't even her fault Hemery's gym had gone up in flames! Faith's practical joke had backfired quite literally and because Faith was nowhere to be found (yeah thanks for that, Faith!) Buffy being her best friend had gotten the blame and subsequently been kicked out of school. Snyder really was a nasty little troll.
Then she'd somehow managed to walk right into someone and send her books and the contents of her bag across the corridor on her way to her first class. Her cheeks had flamed as she felt everyone's eyes on her. Back at Hemery, she would have glared at them for even daring to look in her direction. But here she was trying to just keep her head down and not draw attention to herself. It hadn't turned out all bad though, the person she'd run into turned out to be really nice. And by a stroke of luck, his first-class was the same as hers.
He'd then introduced her to his best friend Willow Rosenberg who was probably the sweetest girl she'd ever met. She'd sat with them both in her first class and they'd made her promise to come find them both during break and to make sure she had lunch with them. By the end of the day, she was beginning to think she might just have a chance at making it through her last year of high school unscathed. They had invited her to meet them at the Bronze tonight, which they both assured her was the happening place to be in Sunnydale. It was in fact the only place to be as there was nowhere else to hang out.
So now she found herself getting ready to go meet them at the Bronze. At first, her mom had nearly had a fit when she told her she was going to a club. After finally convincing her it was actually an all-ages club and all the high school kids hung out there she relented and said she could go. But only after she'd described in detail all about her new friends. Upon hearing that Willow was a straight-A student who tutored other kids her mom was quite impressed. Finally deciding on her black leather pants with a red silk halter top and heeled boots, she twisted her hair up on top of her head and applied a small amount of makeup. Sticking to light pinks all the way so her mom didn't freak out. She looked longingly at her dark red lipsticks and charcoal eyeliners. Maybe she could break them out on Halloween.
Running down the stairs and deciding to forgo her jacket so her mom wouldn't see her outfit she shouted "Bye Mom, I'll be back by midnight!"
"11.30!" Her Mom shouted back.
"Fine." She huffed as she ran out the door slamming it behind her.
When she reached the Bronze she realised she was a bit early. There was no sign of Willow or Xander. Sighing she bought herself a coke and sat at a table to wait for them. After twenty minutes she was beginning to feel a little foolish sitting there by herself. Then suddenly the most gorgeous guy she'd ever laid eyes on was in front of her. Looking up at him her mouth dropped open, she was sure she was drooling. "Hi," he said, giving her a little half-smile that somehow made him even sexier. "Uh," Buffy said. His eyebrow rose and his smile widened.
Buffy somehow got a hold of herself and said, "I mean, hi."
He held out his hand for her to shake, "I'm Angelus. You're new at school aren't you?" He asked.
"Buffy." She replied shaking his hand. Tingles crept up her arm and swept right through her at his touch. By the startled look on his face, he felt it too. "Yes. Just started today, that's me the new girl." She smiled at him as she took her hand back.
"Here alone?" he asked.
"Um, I guess I am at the moment. I'm waiting for my friends. I'm a little early."
"Well, would you like to dance while you wait?" He held out his hand for her to take. Hesitantly she took it and let him lead her to the dance floor. As he pulled her into his arms and they swayed to the music Buffy couldn't quite believe her luck. It was her first day and already she'd made friends with nice normal kids, was out socialising and the most gorgeous guy in school was dancing with her.
As the song ended Buffy pulled away to look up at Angelus when out of the corner of her eye she noticed Xander and Willow were at her table and motioning to her to come over. "Another song?" Angelus asked.
"Um, as much as I'd like to my friends have just arrived." She pointed to where Willow and Xander were looking at them. "Maybe later, then?" He asked as she reluctantly pulled away from him. "Sure," she smiled.
She practically skipped over to Willow and Xander, "Hey guys," she said as she sat down and sipped at her drink. They both looked uneasy. "What?" She asked apprehensively. Willow bounced in her chair looking like she was going to explode whilst Xander looked angry. Buffy's mood suddenly took a nosedive. "Did I do something wrong?" She asked. Unsure now if they were both as nice as they had seemed earlier today.
Xander looked like he was about to say something but Willow beat him to it. "No, Buffy." She soothed as she put her hand on Buffy's arm. "It's just that's Angelus Murphy you were dancing with."
Buffy looked confused, "And?" she asked.
"And," Xander said nastily, "He's captain of the football team and the biggest player at Sunnydale High!"
Buffy was a little taken aback by Xander's tone. She cast her eyes down. Willow smacked the back of Xander's head. "Ow!" He wailed rubbing his head.
"Xander! You don't need to be so crappy to Buffy, she doesn't know anything about Angelus!" Willow motioned with her eyes to Buffy.
"I'm sorry, Buffy." Xander said sheepishly, "It's just, the guy is the biggest jerk going and you're our friend. I don't want to see you get hurt."
Buffy smiled, it was nice to have friends that cared about her feelings. "That's ok, Xander, I understand." He gave her a big goofy smile back.
Willow sighed, "You really shouldn't get involved with him, Buffy. He's got a horrible reputation. He preys on the new girls, usually freshmen and reels them in with compliments and charm. As soon as he can he sleeps with them, then the next day he'll boast all over the school how he broke them in and treats them like dirt."
"Quite a few girls have actually left because they can't cope with how he taunts them afterwards. It's not just him either, it's his friends, his girlfriend and her friends who all join in." Xander said, not able to keep the hatred out of his voice.
"Wait did you just say his girlfriend?" Buffy asked in confusion.
"Yeah," Willow replied. "Darla McKinnon is head cheerleader and they've been together since sophomore year."
"And she not only knows about him cheating on her but taunts the girls he cheats with?" Asked Buffy incredulously. "Surely it's more likely they have an open relationship and they're both just complete jerks?"
"Nope." Willow continued. "All the guys know Darla is off-limits. If she so much as said another guy was hot he'd break up with her."
Buffy's mouth dropped open in shock. "And she just takes him cheating on her? Why?"
"Because," Xander said warming up to the bashing of the jock and the cheerleader, "She'd lose her title of Queen Bitch. She rules the school with Angelus at her side, without him she's a nobody."
Buffy couldn't quite believe anyone would put up with being treated so badly just to be popular. "Well, I guess they deserve each other, then." She was a little disappointed that she wouldn't be getting to know Angelus any better, but she was so glad she found out about his reputation before she became another of his conquests. Because as determined as she was to change, she wasn't sure she could have resisted his charms for long if he'd turned them on her. Now she knew what he was about she was going to avoid him at all costs.
"Thanks for warning me guys." Buffy gave Xander and Willow a grateful smile. "You know you guys have already made my first day here so much better than I thought it was going to be."
They sat around chatting and drinking for the rest of the evening all thoughts of Angelus and Darla forgotten.
Angelus watched as Buffy walked off to her friends. He frowned when he saw who her friends were. That Harris boy she'd bumped into this morning and the Rosenberg nerd. Great, no doubt they'd tell her all about him and his reputation. It was going to be much harder to get into her pants now. Harder, but not impossible. He smiled inwardly, he loved a challenge. And breaking in Buffy Summers was going to be such a sweet one.
With that thought, he walked towards Spike and Drusilla who were just walking through the door of Bronze. "Where's Darla?" He asked.
"Just parking the car," Spike said, "And just as well mate, if she'd caught you with blondie over there she would have had a fit!"
Angelus shrugged. "Like I care. I mean come on Spike, just look at her." He said as he looked over to where Buffy sat with Willow and Xander. "Her ass in those leather pants, those tits in that red top. You can't tell me you don't want a go?"
Spike looked at Dru before replying, "Nah, I'm a one-woman man me. And my Dru is more than enough woman for me." Drusilla giggled before whispering in Spike's ear. "Well, we're off to dance mate, good luck." And he let Drusilla pull him onto the dance floor.
As he waited for Darla, Angelus let his gaze rove over Buffy as she danced with Willow and Xander. Yes, she was going to be such a sweet conquest. And the work he would have to put in would just make it all the sweeter.
