The Dark Side of the Moon
Chapter Six
The sky held its normal blue tint today with only a few clouds floating by. Outside Camp Half Blood in the forest, Chiron, Dionysus, Celeste, Annabeth, Grover and Percy stood around a tree stomp. Chiron set down a case. Opening it carefully, he pulled out the small jar with the chaos energy While Dionysus removed the case from the stomp. Chiron set the jar down and backed away.
"Is everyone ready?" Chiron asked.
Everyone nodded.
"Okay, let it rip,"
Celeste walked over to the tree stomp. Taking a deep breath, she opened the lid of the jar and jumped back.
The energy bounced around in the jar for a few moments before shattering it. Hovering over the tree stomp, the energy formed into the shape of a small black cloud. It stayed there hovering as if looking around at all the people that surrounded it.
The small cloud moved up and down until it hovered higher and higher over the stomp. Then it zipped from left to right as if given its body a stretch. Everyone watched as the cloud crackled with small bits of black electrical energy. Moving up a little more, the cloud shot off through the forest.
Everyone took off running. Jumping over logs, flipping over bushes and wildlife, all while making sure never to lose sight of the small black cloud.
Still running, Annabeth and Grover were about to hop over some logs when four large demon fiends dropped out of the sky and landed in front of them. The demons growled as they pulled out their swords. Two of them cocked their heads from left to right as the two in the middle stick out their tongues, smiling with delight.
Noticing Annabeth and Grover were not behind him, Percy turned around and noticed four enormous creatures blocking their path. Sensing something was off, Chiron turned around he spotted what Percy did. Demon fiends but, they were much bigger. The two looked at each other and, while they were about to stop and help, Grover looked over at them and shook his head.
"Go on, we got this!" Grover shouted back.
Nodding, Chiron charged forward while Percy hesitated for a bit, but the moment Annabeth nodded, he took off running after Chiron.
Grover pulled out his sword as Annabeth pulled out her daggers. The two looked at each other, then back at the large demon fiends.
"We got this right?" Grover asked.
"Oh yeah, now let's have some fun," Annabeth said.
Nodding, the two of them yelled as they charged toward the demon fiends.
Chiron, Dionysus, and Percy were running behind Celeste when Percy smacked into something hard. Chiron and Dionysus helped Percy up as the three of them jump back when a hand slammed down in front of them.
Backing up some more, the three looked up at a massive clay beast with very familiar ivory white fangs. Dionysus couldn't help but stare at the creature but he was pulled out of his daze when Chiron pulled him and Percy on the ground when the beast's hand morphed into a huge throwing knife. The beats threw the knife that pass over their heads, slicing off a few hairs.
"Didn't we fight this thing before?" Dionysus asked.
"Looks like it got an upgrade," Percy said.
"Either way, we need to take it down," Chron said.
Standing up, Chiron, Percy, and Dionysus pulled out their swords and charged toward the beast.
Celeste didn't hear footsteps behind her anymore. She hoped the others were okay as she kept her eyes on the small black cloud. Ducking through a few more bushes and flipping over various animals, she stopped a few inches away when the cloud stopped.
The cloud hovered around at first, then it spun around in a circle, its black electric crackling more and more. Could they be here? Celeste wondered. Looking around, all Celeste saw was nothing but trees and more trees. Where would could this suppose lab be?
But that all changed the moment Celeste heard footsteps in front of her. Out walked a woman with dark violet hair and a pair of matching eyes that seem to glow the moment she stopped in front of the black cloud. The woman smiled as the cloud nuzzled her cheek. A content sigh escaped the woman's lips as she pets could.
Celeste looked over at the woman who wore an odd dark violet leather armor chest plate, legs, arms and boots. The woman chuckled as the cloud swirled around the dark violet hair woman. The moment she looked at Celeste, her once calm eyes narrowed and her smile disappeared.
"Who are you?" Celeste asked.
"I don't have a name, but when I am done here I will," the dark violet hair woman said.
"Odd, but okay seems you and that cloud are close," Celeste said.
"You can say that, oh and it didn't like be stuffed in that jar."
"That's what it gets for being part of the beast that beat the crap out of me."
The woman chuckled. "Isn't that what I am about to do to you?"
This time, it was Celeste's turn to chuckle. "Really, we will just have to see about that."
Celeste pulled out her sword, its light glisten as the sunlight touched it. The woman looked at Celeste as she tapped the small cloud. The cloud swirled around the woman faster and faster before transforming into a sword with a dark violet hilt and a red jewel at the top of the hilt that landed in her hands.
"Nice sword," Celeste said.
"Thank you," the woman said.
Celeste lean back into her fight stance. "Lets see how well you can use it."
The woman smiled. "With pleasure."
Celeste smiled as she charged at the mysterious woman.
Back at the lab, Catherine didn't bother cleaning up. She checked the chamber where Selene was. While it had a few cracks, it was still attached and nothing seeped out. She looked at Selene's face and noticed her eyes were closed. She wasn't sure if she imagined it, but she thought she saw them open. Either way, the key piece of her experiment was okay.
What that done, Catherine step over a bunch of debris as she headed to her office. She kicked a few burned keyboards and pushed a small table out of the way to get in. She was glad nothing in here got damaged. Good thing she reinforced this room. Pulling open her desk drew, Catherine turned on her monitors as she sat down and pulled out her notebook and pen.
She smiled as she glanced over the three monitors.
"Divide and conquer nice," Catherine said, scribbling down some notes.
Catherine turned to the first monitor; her eyes widen as she witnesses the dark violet hair woman who spoke to her form a sword out of the small chaos energy cloud.
"Oh my, if she makes it back, I will have tons of tests I need preform on her." Catherine said, writing more notes.
Looking at the next monitor, at the demon fiends' size, and how they landed in front of the satyr and demigod. As she looked at the last monitor, the clay beast's morphing ability truly intrigued Catherine. While her lab was a mess, it was worth it. Now she can sit back and see how these new creations were fair. Who knows, they may even return, but she doubts it.
