Also I realized I don't know Nana's husband's name and did not make one. SO instead of looking for it through the source material like a responsible person who wants the facts as accurate as possible. I'm a make up, Why? Cuz that's what Cave Johnson would do! The name is Hanzo by the way.
Now onto the show!
4 years later. Hanzo POV
It was a regular day for Hanzo. Came out of work and texted his wife Nana that he is on his way to pick up their son from kindergarten. At first he was worried about the inner mind growth program and was hesitant for his son when he was old enough to walk and talk enough to be able to go. The first day was the hardest for him and Nana. It was hard to let go of their little boy but eventually they relented, mainly because the sure force of his wifes hug would have crushed the both of them.
Now it was halfway in the year and those concerns were still there but had gotten much smaller as time went by. Right now he was waiting in the parking lot seeing a wave of children of all ages flock out and run to their parents, his son being one of them. He unlocked the car door in time as his son jumped into the back seat.
"How was your day Kotaro?" Hanzo asked with a smile.
"Awesome! We were learning about math today and learned how to use the pythagorean theorem!"
"That's great bud! Right now we are gonna make a quick pit stop home and we are gonna meet up with mom at work."
"Really? Cool!" Kotaro said with visible excitement .
When it came to his son, seeing that smile was always a welcome.
Shorahiko Torino POV
It was not many times that Torino could say he was genuinely nervous. He had met Nana's son Kotaro only once when she introduced him through a facetime video call. It had been 5 years since then and now the kid is only 5 years old. It made him realize the power of time was not to be messed with. Now that kid whom Nana talked about constantly in such a loving way in the way she described her husband to him. He wasn't worried about the kids safety, after all the hero agency building they were in was filled with highly potential students and competent heroes so it was virtually one of the safest places in all of japan. You'd have to be suicide to attack the Agency of the Number 1 hero Neon.
What he was nervous about was how his first real impression would be.
"Calm down Torino, it's not like you haven't met him before." Nana said.
"The last time I had seen him was when he was a baby and that was 5 years ago. Now he's a 5 year old child. You have a habit of being a mom you know?" Torino shot back.
"Of course I am one. Kotaro is my number 1 priority. I have to put him first before anything else you know. Although sometimes it feels like I have 2 ever since I ran into Toshinori." Nana said with a small yet stressed smile.
"How is his training going by the way?" Torino asked. Torino knew about the physical toll One for All had on its users and during his time in UA he saw this first time when Nana was still training. So to say his concern for Nana's disciple was genuine given what she told him, Toshiro was also quirkless.
"Believe it or not the quirk works with him as if it was natural. It's almost bizarre. It's like One for All was seemingly built for him. Toshi is mainly struggling in his power output and skill; however, he still needs to learn that brute strength isn't everything in hero work." Nana had finished with a sigh.
'Ain't that the truth. I swear the generations after us are gonna blow up more buildings and cause more collateral damage than the villains.' Torino thought to himself with a silent nod.
He and Nana had been waiting in the Lobby for roughly 15 minutes at this point. The silence between the two was broken when he heard the shout of a child yelling.
"MOM!" The 5 year old boy said.
"Kotaro!" Nana said while walking towards her son while bending down to pick him up.
"Hey honey. We're here!" The man that walked in was Nana's husband Hanzo whom Torina had met several times.
"Hi mom! Wow. This place is big! What is this place?" The 5 year old.
"Hi to you too Kotaro. This is where mom works for her job as a hero sweety." Nana said.
"Cool. Is there anything cool in this building? Like robots! Oh how about hero tools!" Torino noticed the very noticeable sparkle in his eyes. Naturally any kid would be excited to be in a hero agency but he noticed that Kotaro's excitement was different. The questions most excited kids would ask would revolve around heroes, such as their rank, who would win in a fight, what their quirk is and other such things. Kotaro's questions revolved around things such as who is in charge, what the actual structure of the building is and even some, concerning, questions regarding the actual way support tools work and their production. While some kids do ask about support tools it's mainly about what they do not about how they work detail to detail.
Torino was surprised that Nana's statement of Kotaro being some kind of young genius was over exaggerated but it seems it was the truth when the boy had just a single glance figured out the entire dimensions of the room. Torino was taken out of his internal thoughts when Nana started to introduce him.
"Kotaro, let me introduce you to somebody. This is a good friend of mine." Nana said.
"Hi! I'm Kotaro Shimura!" Kotaro said while giving his hand out for a handshake.
Tornio decided to put those thoughts in the back of his head. While many kids love heroes, some love making the things that help them just as much. After all, I-Island was a thing for a reason. Torino reached out and shaked the small hand.
"Hi there little one. In Gran Torino I'm your moms co-hero." Torino doesn't usually smile often but he could tell the amazement from Kotaros eyes was genuine and not based on hero culture.
"Awesome! Mom told me you are really fast! Is it a speed quirk? Is it the reason why you have those holes at the bottom of your boots?" Kotaro asked.
'Dang. This kid is really perceptive if he was able to figure that out' "Yup. My quirl lets go fast enough to save people in time before they get hurt. You must have seen my boots if you figured out how my quirk works." Tornio said with a genuinely impressed tone.
"Oh I didn't see your boots. I could tell from the way you stood up and walked." Kotaro said in the blatenness only a 5 year old could.
"If I wasn't impressed before, this kid definitely has me now. My boots were made to just look like regular boots but he figured me out in seconds. Nana what did you feed him for him to get this smart?" Torino thought to himself with a look of small shock on his face.
Hanzo laughed "Told you he was smart. And apparently a little detective too. Come on let's go look around the building some more. Want to come along with us Torino?
"You should come. Kotaro looks like he likes you now." Nana said with a smile looking at Kotaros smile.
'Eh-what's the worst that could happen?' "I don't see why not. Dont got patrol today and I already completed my paperwork."
Torino saw Kotaro raise his arms up smiling while Mouthing a silent yes. They walked down a nearby hall and looked around the building.
What none of the adults in the group and the building noticed was a small drone the size of a pea that flew out of Kotaro's sleeve while he raised his arms, that had attached itself to a nearby security camera. When everyone turned around to the hallway Kotaro turned looked at the receptionist nearby and simply mouthed to him.
'I know'
Small apartment complex somewhere in Japan.
"Sensei, I've been compromised." A man holding a phone said
"Speak." The voice on the phone said with something obscuring his voice.
The man who was on the phone was the receptionist at the hero agency that Neon worked at. He was a pitiful man on the inside cursing others and living in spite. He was the lone survivor of his family after a lone Hero had decided his hero father was too much competition and staged his death. His father was the former number 1 hero of japan before the current one Neon showed up. He found it Cathartic that the plans his family murderer took in order to take the number 1 spot was in vain after Nana Shimura came along.
Even more so when the former number 1 hero was exposed for his actions after being found dead in his home with a suicide note explaingin his sins. Who ever said revenge was not worth it obviously didn't have something taken from them before. Revenge was well worth it in the end, at least as far as he knew. He still remembered the face of the man who begged him to give him the antidote after he realized he was poisoned, the look of despair is something he often falls asleep too.
So imagine his surprise when he was confronted by the underground boogeyman of Japan he had heard so much while growing up. Even more so when it turned out to be the Man in charge of the Hero administration. To have a chance to end the system that caused the suffering he endured and to take down the pedestals of these fake heroes was something too good to pass up on.
He gladly agreed to be a spy on Nana and her family. He was to study her and her family whenever they visited the building, Make notes of when they arrived and use the various bugged equipment in the building to figure out the family schedule so when the time came for their downfall it would be executed perfectly.
He struck gold when He saw that Nana Shimura had a son of all things and he could tell her love for her family was genuine. All the more sweeter. However he noticed the kid had looked at him a few times. Too many times in fact. When he looked back when no one was looking, the kid not only looked back at him but mouthed something with a very, very cold smile that gave him a cold sweat.
'I KNOW"
During his break he instantly went into the bathroom room and checked his phone for the hacked security feed but found them all playing a single message.
'I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know I know' and strangely enough one of them had an entire recipe for a chocolate cake for some reason. Regardless he knew he was compromised as when he opened his employee locker all the notes he gathered were gone.
He rushed home claiming to have diarrhea and locked the door behind him when he did. He searched his house for any equipment and found none but when He went to check his journal of notes his worry became fear. His childhood notebook his mother gave hin before she was murdered, the one he used to put down all the information he had gathredd, was replaced with an exact replica. He did not know this until he opened it, it was filled with more 'I know". Every single page. He was terrified now. He was terrified that the person who did this knew enough about him to copy his own childhood notebook, even down to the withered food stain on the cover from an instant ramen noodle years ago. Even his backup journal had been given the same treatment.
He had to warn his lord. If anyone knew who could do this it was him.
He dialed a number faster than he did anything before in his life. He heard the call go through and found himself where he is now.
"All the bugs and spy equipment we have in the building are taken over by a third party who knows we are there. They stole all of the notes and journals I have about the task you gave me sir." The man said. With fear in his voice evident.
"Explain. NOW." THe voice on the phone said.
The man felt his hear stop for a split second in pure terror but pushed that aside and explained his situation.
"I don't have a clue who did this but I suspect someone somehow managed to convince Nana Shimuras son to work with them. He mouthed to me while no one was looking 'I know' next thing I know all the work we put in had vanished into the air. Whoever is doing this knows who we are and has known about all the activities we have done before we even started surveillance there. This was planned sir."
"I see. Tell me why I should be afraid." the voice on the phone said
The man had stopped breathing for a moment. Why should he? His lord was the demon lord of Japan after all who had killed countless heros before.
"You should not be my lord." The man smiled
"And tell me why." The voice responded with absolute authority.
"Because…" The man took a deep breath and a deep gulp. His words would dictate his life or his death.
"You are All for One my lord" The man said with a confident, cruel smile of evil.
His smile was short lived as his hopes of living came crashing down like an asteroid hitting earth. He heard the voice of a very familiar 5 year old that had visited the hero agency today.
"I know." the phone hung up. The man's shock was so great that he didn't notice the oval-shaped machine that had slowly built itself behind him in the doorway of his room. Once he looked at the phone that had dropped on the floor he saw the caller Id.
'Turn around'
Once the man did he tried to activate his acid formation quirk but before even a bubble could form he noticed a red laser pointed directly between his eyes. It comes from a white oval shaped turret standing up right on three legs and the laser coming from its giant red mechanical eye. In horror the man's eyes widened before the top half of his head was shot off with a three round burst.
"TARGET ELIMINATED. Returning to base" The oval turret said before deconstructing itself and its parts flew out the window.
It would be 3 days before the body was found.
Shimura Household- Around Kotaro's bedtime.
"Today was very cool mom!" Kotaro said. The young boy was on his bed getting ready to go to bed. In his room was a small workbench for his many inventions. Many of them being modified toys or coded video games he made from scratch. Nana remembers the face of her son when they had gotten it for him during his birthday. He was smiling as if he was the sun. It was worth it for the parents as he later made small figurines of them during their wedding anniversary which Hanzo and Nana put up in the living room.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. But remember next time I don't want you wandering into the support item room. I know you want to invent things but I want you to be safe doing them." Nana said in a firm tone.
"Okay." Kotaro said with a noticeable pout.
Nana simply smiles and kisses his forehead as he eases into bed and snuggles under his covers. "Good Kotaro" Nana said standing in the doorway.
" *Yawn* Good night mom." Nana smiled as she watched her son fall asleep. She turned off the light and closed the door. When her footsteps could no longer be heard Kotaro stood up and silently opened his window close to his bed. Several mechanical parts flew in with many of them merging with several toys and his workbench disguising themselves as spare parts or tools. Only a single glowing red eye piece was hovering in front of him.
"Anything to report?"
"SUSPECTED TARGET NEUTRALIZED. EVIDENCE OF INVOLVEMENT ELIMINATED. SUSPICIONS CONFIRMED." The red eye piece said
"Thank you. You can go into rest mode now." Kotaro said.
The eye piece flew in front of his toy chest and transformed into a small red rubber ball. Kotaro smiled as he went to his workbench and opened a secret compartment containing in it the stolen journals the turret brought back. He was ecstatic in that the aperture turret design had been improved on and brought back a confirmed field test. At least the test subject was a genuine threat so no one would miss him once he copied down the information into a spare data bank he created and secretly gave the journals to the police.
' Well I guess I'm not the only one with common sense in this place. All for one? Pretentious prick. Someone been reading Dumas. Never though the three musketeers are a thing here. Or was it four? Doesn't matter. At the very least I know what mom's quirk is now. I don't understand what this blood feud is about but I guess where there's a hero there's a villain. Hercules taught me that. Still it's pretty late now and more testing can be done later. Though if even half of what's in this journal is true this All for One Guy is a total nutcase. Like that guy who killed those mantis men scenario all over again. Welp time for Kotaro Johnson to go back to bed."
The five year old, indifferent to the actions he had committed, put back the journals and went back to sleep. With a single thought in his mind.
'I don't care who ever it is but they will pay if they think they can take what is rightfully mine. All for one or not.' Kotaro thought to himself before falling back to sleep.
Author's note: Hello everybody here is a second chapter of Kotaro Johnson here! I decided to explore the more dark side of MHA and the Portal franchise this time around. I mean having a super genius kid doesn't sound all that unusual in the world of my hero academia. There are quirks all over the place so it's possible an intelligence quirk might have awoken in one of them.
But when you have one who is born into a hyper competitive world where people who have powers take out their frustrations on others either due to the failures of that society in safety nets or outdated practices (which is what I see to be a cause of most of the problems in the MHA world) who has no quirk. Well that genius is gonna do what it takes to validate himself in a world that only cares about heroes and the power of quirks and not so much on the technology that makes it possible.
Plus if you combine that kind of world with a person who has lived through a technological advancement that surpassed tech in the present 2200s from the 1990s and is dissatisfied with the way science had taken a back turn, like cave johnson. It is not a good thing for anybody. Let's be honest Cave johnson was never a good guy in the portal games BUT MHA has a thing where it humanizes its characters (Mostly) and I plan to do that here. I don't know If I want Kotaro Johnson to end up being a good person or like his ingame counterpart but thats an idea im leaning towards.
Anyway if you have any ideas I'll hear them out. Until next time!
