So the story of Fecto Elfilis and Vesa Krasniki continues after most of the events of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Kirby and Elfilin were in the mood for some breakfast at Waddle Dee Café. Today's breakfast was pancakes with maple syrup. The pink star warrior smiled as he watched Leongar and Clawroline savoring a breakfast consisting of meats. When Elfilin finished his breakfast, the small chinchilla floated down and sat on Kirby's head, finding himself glad this whole thing was finally over. He might not be whole anymore, but he felt himself starting to recover. His ear was even starting to heal a little. It didn't help that his memories were still scattered and fragmented.
It had only been a couple of weeks since Kirby and Elfilin rescued Leongar. The King of the Beasts had been progressing with his recovery. Really, it has been going better than the small chinchilla could've hoped…having his soul shattered like that was kind of a big deal, but he's been doing really well. Sometimes, he would get a vacant stare, but that's been happening less often. In all honesty, Elfilin was happy for him and Clawroline as they made a really cute couple.
King Dedede was also dining at Waddle Dee Café. Elfilin wasn't sure how to feel about Dedede. He seemed nice enough, but apparently he had a habit of getting greedy or possessed. Although, he heard he was a valiant leader of Dreamland, even going to the front lines to fight for his people when evil threatened Dreamland, so the small chinchilla tolerated him for now. This morning, King Dedede ordered 5 plates of breakfast food. Honestly, that didn't surprise Elfilin. As a penguin of some kind, he probably needed to eat a lot to build bodily fat, so it came out to Elfilin as more of an instinct rather than real greed. At least he was paying for it all, even though the Waddle Dees did try to feed him for free since he was their king.
Meta Knight currently stood atop the pillar of the arena, his cloak wrapped around himself as he stared down at the peaceful little town. Considering the past war he fought in against Nightmare and his army, he initially wasn't a huge fan of such a thing—yet another set of people not ready for the countless evils waiting for them in the universe, the constant attacks that plagued the planet. He'd seen it all as evil beings attempted to destroy Popstar, to rule it, or other more confusing goals. He remembered the attempt he made to prepare them, only to realize how foolish his initial attempt to rule over Dreamland was. Maybe this was what he should've been striving to protect. He just needed to become stronger…strong enough to protect them on his own.
Fortunately, there were those who rose up to the challenge. He pictured Bandana Dee and King Dedede—allies who wanted to protect their people. He pictured Kirby—naïve and a little reckless—yet brave son which he took in during Nightmare's reign of terror—as he drew in allies to defeat Void Termina. Meta Knight pictured everyone else who joined Kirby and the others in their stand against the Destroyer of Worlds. For now, Meta Knight waited for some of those fighters to arrive…another group of enemies turned allies. Like all those who came before, Meta Knight vowed to watch them and ensure they wouldn't turn against them a second time.
Meta Knight was glad Marx didn't tag along as that jester still made him uncomfortable, even though he swore he was on their side now. Magolor vouched for him, however, so the knight couldn't complain too much.
Bandana Dee sat by himself with only a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich. All the while, he listened in on the banter between other Waddle Dees and Awoofys at a nearby table. Rumors were getting spread around about a traveling group of magic users. Last anyone heard three of them were arguing over a map and one of them accidentally set it on fire. Apparently, they were trying to find the town, but no one really knew who they were and people were still slightly paranoid. Whoever saw them didn't give them directions.
Kirby finished his breakfast and took a moment to stretch his limbs. Likewise, Elfilin floated and did a back flip. The small chinchilla followed the pink star warrior as he sprinted his way to the main plaza. Little did they know, Meta Knight followed them via the rooftops and tried his best to keep an eye on Kirby…knowing he had the tendency to get into trouble. Kirby and Elfilin paused at the gate and scanned their surroundings. Elfilin blinked twice as he saw three primary colored girls approaching the gate. He wasn't sure why, but they seemed familiar.
"Elfilis?!" the redhead exclaimed.
The redhead ran up and plucked Elfilin out of the air, giving him a big hug. The small chinchilla had no idea what was going on, yet she felt pleasantly warm.
"Poyo?" Kirby gave Flamberge a puzzled look.
"It's our little brother!" Flamberge proclaimed happily.
Everyone else watching got rather nervous and slightly horrified, mostly because this wasn't Elfilis. Kirby was confused—was he mistaken about his enemy?
Hyness followed close behind Fransisca and Zan Partizanne as they made their way closer to the gate. Meta Knight touched down on the ground to greet them. Flamberge released Elfilin from her embrace and bowed at her adoptive father.
"My oh my," Hyness said, comically shoving Meta Knight aside to have a closer look at Elfilin, "well, this is disturbing, it seems you are only a fragment of Elfilis! I can still sense them close by, though. What has happened to you?"
Elfilin and Kirby exchanged confused glances for a moment.
"It's…a long story, sir," Elfilin began to explain.
"Well, we have plenty of time," Hyness assured them as optimistic as possible, "it's been hundreds of thousands of years since we last saw them! I can only imagine they saved billions of species in that time, maybe even had a family of some kind? We'd love to catch up!"
Kirby lowered his face.
"Poyo," he sighed.
Meta Knight brushed the dirt off his cloak and cleared his throat. He went on to explain what he heard from Kirby from his latest adventure, how Fecto Elfilis was captured long ago by the people who used to inhabit this planet and experimented on them. He mentioned Elfilin split from Elfilis during that time and how the ultimate life-form had been imprisoned in the ancient lab long after the people left for another word. He even mentioned all the chaos Fecto Elfilis caused, ranging from opening a portal and influencing the Beast Pack to capture the Waddle Dees as part of a workforce. Meta Knight even added when Kirby fought Leongar, Elfilis went on a rampage and absorbed Elfilin before Kirby fought Fecto Elfilis on the rooftop of the lab. Kirby also remembered that time when after he freed Elfilin, he used his Mouthful power to take control of a semi truck in order to stop Fecto Elfilis from using a summoned vortex to collide Popstar with the planet.
"I-I see," Hyness sighed, "this is significantly worse than when we were sealed away. My poor child is likely traumatized. 30 years…"
The Mage Sisters huddled together and wept over this sad revelation.
"Well," Hyness continued, "there's both good and bad news depending on how you feel about them. The good news is that they're still alive. I can sense them, and not just from their little fragment here. The bad news is that they're currently in a chaotic state…filled with incredible rage. I can feel them, they're in the dimension parallel to this one. We made a tool to help us get there once, but I haven't seen it since we were sealed away. I do believe it's where our masked friend here's counterpart originates from."
All eyes fixated on Hyness.
"Poyo?!" Kirby exclaimed with intrigue in his voice.
"Yes!" Hyness nodded, picking up Elfilin, "on the other side of this dimension is where Elfilis is right now. I'm not quite sure how they managed it in the state you say they were in, but they are there! Now we just need to defeat them and calm them down. I believe you might've taken all of their positive emotions away, and left them with all the rage, sadness, insanity, and other emotional baggage that came with being trapped in that lab forever. I'm not going to blame you for existing or anything so uncouth, but you do need to return some of that to them so they can start making it on their own again. You're a part of them, so you're just as much my child as they are. Now we need to go and solve this mess before it spirals further out of control and they actually manage to get back here."
Elfilin took a minute to process this new information, exchanging a brief glance with Kirby before he nodded.
"Ok," Elfilin proclaimed, "let's do it."
"Poyo!" Kirby chirped and raised his arm into the air.
"Excellent! I'm afraid I'm not a powerful combatant, so I'll likely stay on the sidelines and be ready with a portal after you defeat him. I'm sure that my daughters would like to join you," Hyness replied, "I'm not entirely certain that they're strong enough, however, so please watch out for them."
Meta Knight gave Hyness a nod.
"I'll also be joining alongside some other allies," Meta Knight declared.
"Well then," Hyness advised, "go get everyone who is coming. Elfilis is still trying to break through. We'll need to hurry or they'll likely devastate the area."
"Poyo!"
Bandana Dee showed up a few minutes later, waving at Kirby. Just as they were discussing the battle plans, Meta Knight suddenly noticed the air cracked slightly in the sky above the town.
"They're breaking through!" Meta Knight exclaimed with urgency, "we need to leave quickly!"
Elfilin shook nervously and drooped their ears.
"Oh no," Elfilin whimpered.
"I'm setting up the portal!" Hyness declared.
Hyness raised his arms and a star-shaped portal appeared in the air next to him.
"Quickly!" Hyness continued, "go now!"
"Poyo!" Kirby nodded.
While Elfilin stayed behind, Kirby, Meta Knight, Bandana Dee and the Mage Sisters scurried towards the portal, jumping in without hesitation. Soon enough, they made landfall in a place which seemed far too similar to the rooftop of the ancient lab…where Kirby fought Fecto Elfilis last time. The pink star warrior spotted the recent adversary, their body now a pure white color with red highlights. This chaotic version of Elfilis turned towards Kirby and glared at him.
"My gods," Zan gasped.
Chaos Elfilis hovered in the air staring down at their opponents. They didn't really expect that much backup, but they focused primarily on Kirby. Elfilis twirled their spear and prepared for battle. Flamberge reached into her pocket and pulled out an old boxing glove she found.
"Kirby!" she called over, "catch!"
Flamberge threw the boxing glove. Upon cue, Kirby inhaled it and converted it into a copy ability, transforming into Fighter Kirby.
Seven copies of Chaos Elfilis appeared, slowly circling the group as they all pointed at them with weapons drawn. Just as the copies lunged at them, Kirby and the gang leapt out of the way. Flamberge would parry and block any oncoming spear thrusts from one of the copies. Kirby spun his foot and slid across the battlefield, kicking at a copy tailing Fransisca. She thought fast and launched an icicle at her pursuer.
Chaos Elfilis focused on Bandana Dee, teleporting behind him while their copies kept the other busy. Bandana Dee widened his stance and glanced behind him, defensively suspicious. Unfortunately, Chaos Elfilis lashed out with a stab which actually struck him. The Waddle Dee stumbled and fell over himself, taking a second to recover. One of the copies focused on Meta Knight. Their copies only had so much energy that dealing damage to one would simply disperse it. The copies weren't making it easy for the group, even when Kirby would dodge every projectile which came his way.
Kirby leapt up and slammed his foot down at the copy clashing against Zan. She nodded at him before she swung her partisan at the copy. The pink star warrior threw a smash punch at the nearest copy of Elfilis, causing it to dissipate.
Chaos Elfilis, meanwhile, didn't pay as much attention as Meta Knight honed in on them specifically. Elfilis struggled to fight back, but the veteran knight was far too fast and agile to keep up with. One by one, Meta Knight destroyed the copies. Elfilis became more frantic as they flew away from everyone. With both claws, they clutched their head and let out an angry pained scream, loud enough to the point everyone had to cover their ears.
A large construct of Elfilis appeared towering over everyone. It slammed its weapon into the platform. Kirby, Meta Knight, Bandana Dee and the Mage Sisters thought fast and jumped up, narrowly avoiding the attack.
Elfilis growled angrily. At that point, they went crazy, any grace or skill lost as they started smashing the massive lance construct into the ground repeatedly, and more fiercely each time. Somehow, Kirby and the gang barely managed to dodge each strike. The pink star warrior suspected Chaos Elfilis can't just remain in the air out of harm's way forever. They gotta come up with a way to lure them back down.
"Meta Knight!" Bandana Dee called over, "any ideas?"
"For now," Meta Knight advised, "those of you who can attack at range should do so just in case. I'll fight them directly."
Meta Knight's eyes glowed with strong intent.
"I'll attempt to lead them back down to you," Meta Knight continued, "I'm not sure how well they'll be able to control their construct when engaged in combat."
"You got it!" Fransisca nodded.
Meta Knight flew up and launched himself at Chaos Elfilis, managing to actually get a stab at them. The chaotic life-form hissed angrily at him and clashed their spear against his sword. Neither of them actually made progress as Meta Knight parried their attacks and blocked. Elfilis would try striking back whenever the veteran knight tried to launch an attack. Kirby noticed the gigantic construct dissipated moments later.
Shortly after, Meta Knight appeared behind Chaos Elfilis and stabbed at their back. He teleported and sent Elfilis plummeting into the ground. At that point, Kirby, Bandana Dee and the Mage Sisters surrounded Chaos Elfilis as they slowly got back up, supporting themselves with their spear. Up close, the sisters flinched at what happened to their sibling, not able to bring themselves to harm them.
Chaos Elfilis huffed and thrust their spear at Kirby in an attempt to skewer him. The pink star warrior thought fast and blocked the attack. He punched the head of the spear aside before he did a spin kick, striking them in the gut and knocking them back. They lifted the shaft of their spear and struck him in the side in retaliation. Without warning, Meta Knight appeared out of nowhere and stabbed at Elfilis again. Bandana Dee stood by the Mage Sisters, leaning onto his spear in pain. Kirby and Meta Knight locked eyes onto another for only a split second. His father backed off a little bit, long enough for the pink star warrior to unleash a rising break attack which knocked away the spear and subdued Chaos Elfilis completely.
With the spear laying on the ground next to them, they collapsed, trying and failing to get up again. Anything else at that point would be too much to take.
"I don't want to," Elfilis muttered, "not again, not again, not again…"
Kirby, Meta Knight, Bandana Dee and the Mage Sisters gathered around Chaos Elfilis. Their long lost sibling curled up into a tight ball and began sobbing. Soon enough, a star-shaped portal opened up and they could see Hyness and Elfilin on the other side.
"Are you all ready to return?" he called, "hurry up now!"
Kirby led Meta Knight, Elfilin, Bandana Dee and the Mage Sisters as they scurried towards the portal.
"What do we do now?" Elfilin clamored.
"You need to give them back some of their positive emotions," Hyness instructed, "their body should do the rest on their own. And then…they need lots of therapy."
"Ok," Elfilin nodded, "here goes!"
