"You're an evil soulless thing and I hate you!" Buffy Summers was fuming in her frustration.

"Now, Pet. You don't mean that." Spike attempted to soothe the slayer.

"But I do!" She insisted.

"Buffy, hate is such a harsh word." Willow told her friend seriously.

"Thanks, Red." Spike smiled at the witch.

"I'm afraid I have to agree with Buffy on this one." Giles added his opinion to the mix.

"Thanks ever so, Watcher." Spike glared at his fellow Brit.

Spike placed his hands on Buffy's shoulders and gently moved her away from the table. She continued to glare at the offense before burying her face in his chest. "Come on, Luv, its not that bad."

"But it is!" She cried. "You can do it. Willow's a natural. Even Giles can do it. Why not me?" She glared again.

"Buffy, there are just some things that you shouldn't try to do. I'm sorry." Willow offered.

"Let's go get a drink, Pet. You don't have to look at it any more." Spike cautiously steered the upset blonde into the kitchen.

"This is your fault, you know." Accusing green eyes turned their glare onto the hapless vampire.

"I know. Just trying to help is all." Spike accepted his guilt with a gleam in his dark blue eyes. "It is for Niblet, you know."

"I know." She sighed. She drank the glass of water the vampire handed her. "Let's go see if Willow fixed whatever it was I did to it."

"I'm sure it's good as new." Spike assured her as they returned to the dining room to face Buffy's new nemesis again.

It was still there. Sitting on the table, acting all innocent, was Spike's latest gift to Dawn. A sleek new laptop computer to do her homework on.

"Guess you're just not cut out for technology, Luv." Spike figured if she didn't stake him now, she never would. She didn't.
