CHAPTER 10

(SOOKIE'S P.O.V)

As I stared at my fairy godmother in disbelief, my expression slowly turned to sadness then disappointment. This wasn't how I envisioned things would end between my fairy kin. But as fate would have it, my loyalty and trust should be with BonTemp. This moment proved it. Eric, Bill, Tara, Mario, Jessica, Lafayette just to name a few, were the people who really cared and protected me. Bill appeared suddenly baring his fangs, as he stood in front of me protectively. Mario then appeared a couple minutes later blocking me and Tara. I turned to glance at Tara, as I could hear her thoughts. 'Poor Sookie, how could her fairy side betray her like this?.' I then turned to face Mario whose back was to me. 'Damn!, I see why Bill is worried about Sookie, she has a lot to deal with!. How could they do this to her?. Mario quickly pushed his hand into his pocket, and pulled out the silver dagger. He outstretched his arm backwards to me, without taking his eyes off Claudine and the other faes that were with her.

"Impossible!, Bartholomew assured me it was in his possession!." Claudine said in anger and shock. "He would have succeeded," Bill spoke up. "But thanks to having loyal and trustworthy allies, who are smart enough to know when someone is deceiving them." I stared at the silver dagger, and decided it was now or never to do something. "I wish!," I suddenly announced, making everyone turn to me. "Claudine and all the faes who are in agreeance with her, are never able to contact me ever again, and I wish that the silver dagger never existed." "NOOO!," Claudine screamed in defeat, as she and the others faes disappeared out of our sight. The silver dagger gently gravitated into the air, as the four of us stared up at it. It suddenly turned from silver to dust particles, that floated into the night's air till it became nothingness.

I tore my gaze away from the destroyed silver dagger to Sookie, who had started sobbing uncontrollably. "Sookie," I whispered sadly immediately, going to comfort her. However Mario suddenly gently put himself between me, and her. I glanced at him to see him shaking his head to me gesturing no. He then turned to stare at Bill, who nodded to Mario in understanding, as Bill picked up Sookie bridal style. Using his inhumane speed him, and Sookie disappeared into his house, leaving Mario and I standing in his yard. "What Sookie needs right now is Bill. I know that you want to give your friend support right now," Mario paused as we turned to walk out of Bill's yard to his since he lived next door. "I get it," I said, glancing at him sadly. "I know Sookie has to be feeling pretty low right now. How could they do this?," I said still shocked at the whole situation,

"I mean they betrayed her, anyone would feel low right now. However I think in time she'll see it's for the best in the end." Mario explained as I frowned. "How so?," I folded my arms confused at his viewpoint. "Well aside from Jason, we are Sookie's family." I remained silent, as we headed towards his vehicle. Mario was absolutely right. We were Sookie's family. I just hoped that she realized that now.

(MARIO'S P.O.V)

The next day at 4pm, Tara, Mae and I were having a picnic for three at the BonTemp lake. I suggested it to Tara last night. Given the circumstances we all needed a relaxing day, away from the crazy supernatural. Also it would've been great to see how Ms Lettie Mae had improved since she drank the unicorn's healing water. "So Mario tell me a bit about the L.A life," Mae asked eager to hear about life outside of BonTemp. "Please tell her she's been dying to know." Tara spoke up. As I begin to tell both of them about L.A, I look out to the peaceful river, as my thoughts drifted to Bill and Sookie. I hope all is well with them, and that one day we could all have a picnic like this. Vampires and human in the daylight.
