I'm so sorry it's taken me over 6 months to add another chapter. My life has been exciting but also very stressful. I will do my best to update often.

Thank you for taking the time to read,

Emma

This chapter will be from Miriam's mother's perspective again

After 6 1/2 long days in the pediatric intensive care unit, we finally got to go home. This is an exciting day but also A day full of fear and the unknown. Miriam cannot get an insulin pump for two months. During this period, we have to measure all the food she eats and determine how much insulin she needs and know how to treat high and low blood sugar. Once we can do this independently she can get the pump.

We got out at 6 AM. I helped Miriam get dressed and gave her a banana to eat. We watched her favorite TV show while we waited for the nurse to come and get us. The nurse came to help Miriam in the wheelchair and started taking her out to my husband Bob's car. All her siblings came to pick her up. She has four siblings. She is the Second oldest child. My oldest is Tobias. He is a junior in high school and is 16 years old. My third oldest Leah is 10 years old and is in fifth grade. My fourth Bryan is eight and in third grade, and my youngest Hanna is four and still goes to daycare. Tobias was the first to come out and hug Miriam. Tobias and Miriam are extremely close. They have an inseparable Bond. Miriam has been asking for him for the past six days. All the other kids stayed in the car. Because they were tired. Miriam is close to All of her siblings except one sibling but she is closest to Tobias. As soon as she came to hug Miriam she burst into tears. "Miriam it's OK you're going home now. And you and I can go skateboarding and play video games all day" He stated. "I'm just so happy to see you. I missed you so much". She said, "How are you feeling"? Tobias asked." I'm a little better but I'm still really tired". Miriam answered, "How about you get some rest today"? "We can go to the skate park tomorrow depending on how you feel". Tobias said. finally, Miriam smiled for the first time in days

Miriam weakly climbed into the car and sat next to Tobias. "Hi, Miriam," Leah said excitedly, " so glad you're home". "Thank you, Leah," Miriam said happily. "UGH, Miriam is here". "I want her to still be in the hospital". Brian said. "Brian be nice to your big sister I snapped". "She doesn't feel well".

As Bob starts driving home I look over at Miriam. She is smiling and looks carefree. Everything was normal again. Until a few weeks later it wasn't.
