Pit found himself wandering through Smash Castle's library when he came across a new book on the shelf. "Oh sweet! They have it! The latest volume in Fire Emblem Heroes!" He immediately sat down and started reading it, awe-inspired by the quality of the illustrations and tales of heroes from across distant worlds. "Wow, this is incredible. I really wish bringing additional Fighters into Smash was this easy. Hey, why don't I do that?"

Marth overheard the excited angel and approached him. "I appreciate your noble intentions, but there's a reason we don't already-"

"Aw, please, Marth! Especially after the Galeem and Dharkon attacks, we need all the help we can get!"

"I suppose that is true..."

This was all Pit needed for approval from him. The angel went through the archives to find a relic known as the Fiend's Cauldron, saying the enchantment to activate its powers, placing the book in the center of the cauldron, he gathered the hearts that would make his wish come true.

"Marth, Marth, Marth! You gotta see this! Check it out!"

"What is it?"

"I found a way to summon different versions of Fighters just like in the Books of Heroes!"

"Pit, I wouldn't be so reckless with that."

Pit was so excited to summon a Hero that Marth's cautionary words flew right over his head as fast as the handful of hearts he threw into the Fiend's Cauldron.

Out of it came a glowing red light that grew to surround it. Then it disappeared, showing that Mario had been summoned, only he was wearing his Santa Outfit and Hat.
"Ho ho ho! Happy Holidays, everyone! It's-a me, Mario, and I'm here to bring some extra holiday cheer for everyone during this festive season!"

Marth looked at him confused. "Well, I suppose we could all use a little Christmas."

Pit squealed with excitement. "IT REALLY WORKED!"

"That's great, but I really think you should stop before something bad happens."

"But Maaaaaarth, I can summon four more Fighters for a discounted amount of hearts! Pleeeease."

"Fine, but after this no more. There's no telling what could-"

"Oh, thank you. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Pit yelled as he threw more hearts into the cauldron. This time, Kirby emerged assuming his Ghost Copy Ability.

"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii."

"Wow. Ghost Kirby." Pit gasped. "Oh! A Spring Festival Simon!"

Simon's outfit was mostly the same as normal, only now he sported bunny ears, accents of lavender and green with white polka dots. And the ruby in the center of his circlet was shaped like a heart instead of the usual diamond. "The name's Simon Belmont. I will admit this outfit's a little silly, but if it's part of the festival, I don't see a reason not to be excited about it. After all, I must spread the good word to the people!"

The fourth hero summoned was a female Pikachu with a black marking in the shape of a heart at the tip of her tail. She also wore a bold blue dress and matching wide-brimmed at trimmed with gold and decorated with feathers and a flower.

"Pikachu Belle!"

"Pikachu!"

"And *gulp* Summer Palutena and me..."

In front of him stood Palutena wearing a swimsuit along with a long cyan-blue beach skirt-the same color on that Pit's swim trunks.

"I thought you said it could only summon one Hero at a time."

"Gah! Why are there two of me?" The other Pit yelped.

"That is what you call a Duo Hero-two heroes whose close bond allows them to fight side by side. Said bond also grants them a special power that can be used to help turn the tide once per battle. Wh-Why am I telling you this information?"

"Don't worry Marth. I'll keep my promise."

"And you already threw more hearts into the cauldron."

"Aw, come on, Marth. Wouldn't it be so much more useful to have the extra hands to help around? We could always use more help around here, especially with the Duo Heroes. What are you so afraid of anyway?"

"I will admit that the seasonal squad is nice, but what I'm afraid of is that there is another type of Hero out there, one that would be most disastrous if we were to summon." Marth was interrupted by a deep growl obscured by another red light.

When it cleared, it was revealed to have come from Ike; except, there appeared to be something wrong with him. His eyes were glowing red, he was angry, and he had a maleficent purple aura around him.

"I am Ike. My blade...hungers. Can you...fight back...?"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! It's Dharkon-possessed Ike!" Pit screamed. "How do we stop him?"

"I'm sure we can defeat him if we work together!"

"HRAAAGH!"

Ike easily overpowered Marth to the point of knocking him over.

"Marth, are you alright?"

"Save yourself, Pit...I'll hold him off for as long as I can."

The angel ran away screaming, slamming the door.

Marth casually got up. "Do you think he's learned his lesson, Ike?"

Regular Ike emerged from behind Marth. "Hey Marth, I can't quite get these pyrotechnics to work without posing a serious fire hazard to my cape.

Marth paused at the ramifications of what this meant. "Hold on, if you're Ike, then that means..."

Both of them screamed at the Fallen Ike readying to attack them. Luckily, Pikachu Belle summoned a giant icicle that fell on him. Then Santa Mario knocked him out with a stick with multiple burning chestnuts speared through it.

"Phew. Thank you two for saving us," said Marth.

"Anything for you nice people!" Santa Mario laughed.

Ike turned to the other Heroes. "No offense, but we should probably send you back home before anyone else finds out about this power and summons another Fallen Hero we have to deal with."

"Oh, no," said Simon. I should heal you up first. It's the least we can do. And then, we'll go home."

"Okay."

Mario looked at his stick. You sure don't want a Combat Manual from me? You both have swords."

Ike smiled. "We appreciate the offer, but really, we can have no trace of this."

"Oh, I see, but I get it."
