7. Chapter 6: Lovely Night for a Duel

Hello, it is I, Imperious Wrath and I am back with an exciting (hopefully, depending on reviews) chapter for you all but first I have to say a few things for it is a sad year as three people have died this year of 2022.

First person being her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II who was no doubt the finest head of state my home country would ever have for a very long time for she sacrificed personal feelings in the name of duty to her country. Thank you for your service, ma'am, you will be greatly missed.

Second, Kazuki Takahashi, the man who gave us Yu-Gi-Oh himself has also died. His life ended when he tried to save three people from a rip current and thus drowned in the attempt. A man who spent his life to bring excitement and joy to fans around the world also gave it to save others in peril. A great man who will be remembered fondly by the community his work helped create.

Also, to those who have watched and read Harry Potter, the lovable gamekeeper of Hogwarts has also died, Robbie Coltrane. Best known for Hagrid, passed away last month. The wizarding world won't be the same without him.

Now before I began the chapter, I want to answer a review by KingJGamer. Normally I would do this at the end of the chapter but it is a good review so I will answer it now.

Well KingJGamer, you liked the chapter, but you didn't really like the duel as it is the same as the episode, I get it as you would want to read totally new duels like the chapters before the latest but that was pretty much the plan, actual episode duels will be included up to a certain event that will take place before the spirit key scenarios. I don't want to spoil it but to clarify it in brief, it will be the last episode duel in the fanfic as an incident will occur that will result in me writing new duels. It's mainly so that I can keep the chapters coming without too many delays. Hope that explains why I did so, in fact let me put down some of the duels that are the same as the episode counterparts (Episodic Based).

These are a few of the duels that will be the same as the episodes, also they are not in order so which one will be the last episode-based duel is up for guesses. Also on the dorms, that will be explained in this chapter buddy. Also your review is big so I answered the rest at the bottom.

Now it's time to start the chapter and the duel in this one is obvious but also…an hybrid based original.

Chapter 6: Lovely Night for a Duel

The days passed by quickly as the induction week went by as if it was only a day. And Jaden was bored throughout the experience, even on the weekend before they start the lessons for real. There were some parts of the week that intrigued him from the introduction of the arena's, the last one he had to keep his head down since he broke the rules and duelled Jade on the first night on the island. If the week was boring, then the following weekend was boredom central as it was spent on getting fully acquainted with the academy map provided, looking over the timetable, and if that wasn't the worst of it. No one stepped up and challenged him to a due. He did expect that this would be the case, but he did hope to be wrong. It was as if no one dared to throw down and duel him. He even went as far as to make challenges himself and no one accepted, some say it was too early to duel and want to settle into the start of the year while others, mainly the obelisk students, stated they have no interest to duel a 'red wonder'. There was some talk that it was because the blue dorm didn't want a repeat of what happened to Peterson, but the blue students responded that Peterson wasn't even that good as an Obelisk was about to lose sooner or later and that since he duelled only against slifers then that was his duelling level, despite that he even duelled against Ra yellows. Throughout the ordeal, Jaden felt why couldn't he have just stayed in bed the whole time, but he got through it and now it was the start of the second week and his first lesson is Duelling Theory. However, he was going to be late.

"Damn, damn, damn!" Jaden yelled in his head as he raced up the last few sets of steps to the floor he needed to be. Syrus followed behind rather sluggishly as he was tired, it seemed that he has started to get used to the cold water wake up calls that he was receiving for a full week and just this morning it took two hits of cold water to wake him.

"This way Sy? I think I see our first class" Jaden called out as he sees some students enter a classroom down the hall.

"Slow down, I cannot keep up" Syrus yelled from behind.

The two didn't go unnoticed however as a certain Ra yellow student was doing a last-minute check on his PDA before entering the classroom and saw the two towards him. A semi-smug grin stretched on his face as he couldn't help but find it amusing.

"Looks like Jaden had difficulty with waking Syrus again. Seems the water method is starting to falter" Bastian thought and called out to them. "You have just under a minute to spare so hurry and run that last leg!"

Hearing this, the two slifers ran faster, catching the attention of students who didn't have a first period and were waiting in the halls. They either thought it was hilarious or pathetic, but nothing was said as the two sprinted faster towards their destination. The noise attracted the sessions tutor who happened to be inside by the door and unfortunately it was Crowler as he popped out his head through the doorway to see what the commotion was about.

"Who is making that noise? It sounds like a stampede" Crowler demanded to know and got his answer when Jaden screeched to a halt right in front of him. Jaden's right in the face arrival made Crowler jump out of his skin hypothetically and his sudden surprise was quickly replaced with annoyance. "Jaden Yuki! I should have known you would be making another scene for attention, right on the first day no less and right before my class. Has being seen as the go-lucky duellist from last week got to your head?!"

Jaden couldn't help but flinch at Crowler's words since he defeated Peterson and throughout the induction week. Crowler pretty much gave Jaden a hard time now and then, and it didn't help when during that week in the sports hall. The new students had the option to have a friendly game of Rounders (Baseball) between the Slifer's and Ra's. In which Jaden was a batter and when it came to the swing, he battered the ball so hard it shot out like a cannonball and hit Crowler squarely in the gut. He was lucky to have Nurse Fontaine nearby to state that it was an accident otherwise Crowler would have chewed him out.

"No professor…"

"Doctor! Crowler corrected him.

"…. yeah that, it's just that Sy took longer to wake up" Jaden explained as said person caught up.

"The cold water stopped working?" Bastian asked despite already figuring out that it was the obvious case.

"Yeah, stopped working yesterday so we rigged the alarm with some speakers and boy that didn't work. Syrus slept through it like a log, and I literally jumped out of my skin despite that me and Chumley were using earplugs" Jaden replied with details of what happened. "Only thing it achieved was ringing ears and angry noise complaints."

Crowler, though listening in, didn't care in the slightest about the reason was and looked at his watch.

"If you three don't get into the classroom then you all will be late so stop dawdling and stop wasting my time with excuses!" he screeched, mainly in Jaden's and Syrus's direction but they got the message.

"Oh right, sorry" Jaden muttered as he followed Bastian into the classroom with Syrus not far behind.

As they entered, they saw the seating arrangements as the Obelisks have the high-rise seats with the Ra's in the middle. The Slifer students were located at the very bottom, so they have the front row seats as they are closest to the teacher's podium. As he climbed down the steps towards the slifer dorm seats, Jaden saw some familiar faces such as Alexis, Mindy, Jasmine, Jade, her two stooges, and Chumley who waved at them. Seemed that he had saved them some seats, with a sprint in their step, mainly to get into seats before Crowler gets mad again. Jaden and Syrus sat into their seats as Chumley got out the way.

"Everyone get seated as I will be checking attendance soon" Crowler announced as he made his way to the podium.

The classroom began to relax as they have a few minutes to set themselves and prepare. Syrus sighed as he opened his bag to get his notebook and pens whereas Jaden yawned in his seat.

"Please tell me you are not going to fall asleep in class?" Chumley asked as Jaden leaned back in his seat to get comfortable.

"Can't help it, I get sleepy in classrooms all the time" Jaden replied as Syrus did the same thing.

"Don't tell me your still sleepy?" Chumley questioned Syrus. "My ears are still ringing from that damn alarm."

"Sorry" Syrus replied and rubbed his eyes while Crowler was now at the podium and began to tap on his PDA.

"Now then, everyone is quiet unless I call out your name, and I expect everyone to be here, so I am expecting all sixty-four students in my class" Crowler announced and it was his announcement that made Syrus fully awake if it were to be believed but here, he was, wide-eyed and wide awake.

"Did he really say sixty-four?" he whispered to Jaden as Crowler tapped his PDA and within a second, the large screen behind him started up and showed what appeared to be a register.

"I think he did, then again the seating here is eight rows of eight seats so maybe there are that many students in the room" Jaden whispered back.

"Now let us begin!" Crower declared and began to take the attendance call.

Several Minutes Later

Sleep has fallen upon them…sort off as Crowler droned on with names of students and he hasn't yet said their names. Jaden couldn't keep his eyes open and the same can be said of Syrus though for the latter it was because he isn't an early riser and not that he found Crowler boring.

"Bastian Misawa?"

"Present."

Jaden in his tired state turned to where the Ra's sat and sees Bastian, very much awake and ready to learn. "Wish I had his motivation to keep awake" he thought and failed to notice that Crowler had turned to him.

"Ugh, Jaden Yuki!"

Jaden turned on his seat and for a second, forgot about the register.

"Yeah, here" he blabbed out and it gained some snickering from some of the Ra's and Obelisks as a result. Crowler on the other hand wasn't snickering.

"Am I keeping you from something?" the doctor inquired but it sounded more like a demand.

"No, just lost in thought" Jaden answered, earning more snickering from behind.

A few rows above him, Alexis stared at those snickering at Jaden in disgust. Despite Jaden not just beating Crowler but also Peterson, he is still seen as a waste of space by the other dorms. She looks over to where Jade was sitting and sees that Troy and Bratt joined in the behind the back mocking, but Jade just kept quiet.

"Well pay attention slacker and you may actually learn something!" Crowler snapped sharply and looked back to the register. "Clearly putting you the red dorm was the right choice after all" he muttered under his breath and continued. "Troy Belmont?"

"Here Doctor!"

"Alexis Rhodes?"

"Here."

As Crowler droned on again, Jaden leaned to Syrus and whispered so that Crowler wouldn't hear.

"Something tells me that sleeping in class will not be good for my health" he said to him, making sure that Crowler doesn't notice.

"Got that right" Syrus replied, and Jaden noticed he didn't sound sleepy anymore.

"Syrus Truesdale?!"

When Crowler called out his name, Syrus almost freaked and gulped loudly.

"Hi" he blurted out and just like with Jaden, members of the class reacted but this time they laughed as Syrus's reply came out like a squeak. Jaden could only feel bad for Syrus as the blue-haired lad realised what just happened and went red with embarrassment. Crowler himself was taken back at the boy's remark and in his mind, an opportunity to insult the slifers further appeared.

"Well, well, if I didn't know any better than I would say you are in the wrong class. Yes, I believe the mascot class for squeaky dog toys is…. oh, wait we don't have one."

The class, mainly the Obelisks and Ra's, erupted out laughter as Syrus sat back down, humiliated by the outcome. Jaden, for one was furious and glared at those who laughed but they didn't take any notice, even as the laughter died down.

"Settle down class and let's get this over with! Now then, Jasmine O'Neil?

"Present!

"Zaria Truesdale?"

A still silence was in the air of the classroom as no one replied or said anything. In Syrus's case, hearing his sister's name urged him to cling to his seat. Jaden on the other hand looked to the rows behind him. Surprised to hear her name but even more so on the grounds that he didn't see her earlier. The silence itself made the rest of the class look around as Crowler himself looked to where Zaria should be sitting and is surprised to see the seat vacant. A cough from the next seat alerted him as another obelisk student from the same dorm stood up.

"Miss Truesdale is with the Chancellor at present and will be arriving later. An email was sent to you about it."

Surprised, Crowler began tapping on his PDA, making sure that the screen behind was turned off firstly as his emails are confidential. To the class, it seemed that it didn't take long to find as Crowler gave off a high-pitched 'ah-hah'.

"Seems to be in order, thank you Mrs Wells" he spoke and returned to the register settings. "Since I can see that you're here I will confirm your attendance now."

Syrus crept his head over the row behind him and looked towards the obelisk seats, he sees the empty seat where his sister would be sitting and sighed.

"Man, I never thought I would be in the same class as my big sister" he whispered.

"It's a good thing you aren't sitting near her also" Jaden whispered in reply and turned to Chumley. "Is she in every class we are in?" Jaden whispered to him in concern for Syrus.

"I think the only class we don't share with her is Satyr's card art class" Chumley whispered back. "Other than that, then yeah she is pretty much in the same class."

"Oh great" Jaden thought as Crowler began to finish the register.

"And lastly, ah! Gregory Peterson?"

"Here."

Chumley, Jaden, and Syrus looked to their left and realised that the large former obelisk student was sitting in their row. At first, Syrus was a bit surprised and wondered how he could have not noticed that he was sitting next to Peterson. And became concerned as the former obelisk's treatment of slifer's didn't fully dwindle despite now being a slifer. Chumley mentally kicked himself for failing to notice sooner, which was surprising given Peterson's size, but Jaden did the opposite.

"Oh, hey Greg, how are you doing?" he asked out, causing Syrus and Chumley to shake in terror as Peterson half turned his head and glared spitefully towards them, chiefly towards Jaden who sweat-dropped in response. "Okay, good talk."

"Ahem!" Crowler began, gaining the attention of the class. "We shall now begin the first lesson of duelling theory in which we will go through the basics of duelling and the types of cards you will be using. Most of you will already know this but since we have slackers in the academy, we may as well start from the beginning."

Every slifer in the class knew that they were targeted by that statement and there were some silent groans from them as they felt mocking eyes gaze upon them. To Jaden, he felt that this was a bit too much and leaned back as Crowler began the class.

"I need to do something with this classroom's mood."

Chancellor Sheppard s Office

"And that's the situation with the upcoming school duels" Sheppard finished explaining as Zara sat emotionless opposite him.

"I see, so the representatives for each academy are to be first years and yet despite being a first-year myself. I am to be excluded?"

Sheppard didn't flinch at her gaze and simply replied.

"Exactly, and it's not just you. This will apply to all students who participated in last year's trial run. Even though you are all classed as first years, those who did last year's participation may as well be classed as second years, yourself included."

Zara's expression didn't change, and she took the information silently, with a sigh she leaned back in her seat and looked at the ceiling.

"I suppose that is unavoidable and understandable. So, when will the students be selected for these duels?" she asked, not really caring for an answer but asked the question regardless.

"The selection will be announced mid-January next year however I have been told that the school duels may be brought forward. We may end up facing North Academy before the end of January instead of March as intended. Seto Kaiba's decision on the matter" Sheppard explained further.

"Typical!" Zara muttered as she crossed her arms. "Next thing it's going to be themed after the Blue Eyes White Dragon like everything else."

Recognising the sarcasm, Sheppard couldn't help but chuckle a little in response.

"I am sure that is not the case" Sheppard explained. "However, it means that this first term is going to be highly focused on finding such a student to represent us."

Zara looked to Sheppard, the news not fazing nor intriguing her in any way.

"Is that all Chancellor?" she asked, preparing to leave.

"No there is just one thing" Sheppard added. "The Princeton Group has contacted us to find out if you have made any decision in having the company as your sponsor."

A slight trace of curiosity briefly appeared on her face as she heard the company's name mentioned. It was interesting to find that the group is looking to sponsor her despite that the company in a way is already sponsoring Jade Princeton.

"Those brothers are persistent I have to say but in regard to the sponsorship, I haven't made a decision yet."

"I see" Sheppard responded. "Very well, I shall inform them you need more time. Best you get to your lesson, I trust Crowler was already informed that you would be late?"

"An email was sent to him the night before and Nora will have already checked up on it" Zara replied.

"Fair enough, makes me wonder how the doctor will handle a lesson with two Truesdale's at once. Will be an interesting talk in the staff room, I'm sure."

Zara said nothing, she remained seated, and her fist clenched whilst remaining emotionless.

"What do you mean?"

"Your brother, Syrus Truesdale I believe" Sheppard answered. "I hear that he will be taking most of the same lessons as you for the most part. I trust that there won't be any problems."

A flicker of irritation appeared on her face as she is reminded that her brother is in the academy. And now she is going to be seeing much of him in classes. Sitting up she made her way to the door but paused halfway.

"No sir, there won't be any… problems."

"Good" was the last thing Zara heard Sheppard say as she exited the chancellor's office. She stood still as the door closed behind her. Glaring out the window in front of her, a furious scowl appeared on her face momentarily. She then made her way to the floor's main stairwell with one thought on her mind. How to get Crowler to find a way to get rid of her brother quicker.

Class 2B – Duelling Theory

"Duel monster cards can be grouped into normal monster cards, fusion monster cards, ritual monster cards, effect monster cards, trap cards, and spell cards" Alexis said in a clear voice as she stood between Jasmine and Mindy. All eyes of the class are upon her, but it didn't faze her one bit. "Trap cards can be divided into normal traps, quick-plays traps, and continuous traps. Spell cards can be separated into normal spells, continuous spells, equip spells, quick-play spells, ritual spells, and field spells."

Crowler grinned as Alexis finished answering the question.

"Perfect. Excellent work Alexis" he said and clapped his hands together. "Then again, I expected nothing less from an obelisk.

Thank you, doctor" Alexis replied and sat down but her smile went away quickly. Jasmine noticed that she was annoyed and leaned closer.

"Hey, what's up? You got the question right, right?" she asked and saw Alexis nod but was still annoyed.

"Yeah, I did but it's what he said after. I bet he is going to ask the reds, just to mock them."

As she said that, Crowler was now looking over the class.

"Bastian Misawa, please tell us the abilities of a quick-play card."

Bastian stood up in response and all eyes were now on him.

"Of course, a quick-play can be used anytime when the duellist deems it necessary to activate it. Even if it is not within the phases of their own turn. If necessary, it can be played from hand as well. One example is the Rush Recklessly spell card. Being a quick play, it is best used when your opponent attacks your monster during the damage step of the duel. Activating the card will allow you to increase your attacked monster with additional attack points that will help either even or better the odds."

Crowler clapped his hands again and seemed very pleased.

"Excellent Bastian, and points for detailing an example of such a card type. Excellent work.

"Thank you" Bastian simply replied and sat back down as Crowler looked over the class again.

"Now who should I ask next?" he thought as his eyes came upon the Slifer's. "I doubt any of them can answer a question. Except for Peterson there" He thought further until his eyes fell upon Syrus. "Then again, maybe some amusement will add character to the class" he devised with a grin. "You, Syrus Truesdale!"

Syrus in response stood up sharply in shock and felt his nerves give way.

"Y…yes sir?"

The boy's reaction made Crowler grin as he found the class's amusement.

"Tell the class the function of a field spell card…please."

The Obelisks and some of the Ra students began to snigger as Syrus took a gulp.

"Well, the field spell is a spell card that…affects the field and…er…depending on the field spell, it can affect certain monster…cards?"

Crowler's eyebrow raised in confusion as he wondered what Syrus was doing.

"Are you asking the class or are you telling the class?" he asked outright, and Syrus became a bit more nervous.

"Telling you?" Syrus replied and received a look from Crowler in response. "Telling you."

"Right" Crowler responded in a manner similar to a certain Dr Evil. However, it was clear on his face that he wasn't fully convinced. "A cheap answer but it is correct, perhaps you could do better by giving an example? Let's say the Umi field spell card for example. Tell the class what Umi does."

Syrus began to feel weak in the knees as he was told to explain further on the subject and with a specific card too.

"Um, well it's a field spell card and it affects…. certain types of monsters by…changing their attack points" Syrus answered but Crowler wanted specifics.

"Can you at least tell us what type of monsters that Umi affects?" Crowler pressured and Jaden started to see Syrus sweat a bit.

"Yeah, um…I believe it affects… fishes."

Those that giggled before began to laugh completely as Syrus sat down in his seat in embarrassment. Crowler on the other hand shook his head in disapproval.

"Yes, it affects fish. It also affects reptiles, sea serpents, dragons, spellcasters, and warriors as long as they share the water attribute" Crowler declared in annoyance. "Good grief, how exactly did you manage to get into this academy is beyond me with that intellect. But then again, I expected much from a slifer slacker."

Jaden couldn't help but feel anger towards Crowler as the teacher berated Syrus as an imbecile and felt enough was enough.

"You know doctor, you shouldn't really look down on us slifer slackers."

The class became quiet as Jaden said the words and Crowler looked at him in surprise. All focus was on Jaden and no one noticed the door open as Zara walked in. Her displeasure still showed on her face at the prospect of being in the same classroom as her brother.

"Oh, really Mr Yuki, tell me then. Why shouldn't I look down on the slifers?" Crowler questioned.

"Well for starters, I beat you back in the entrance exam without a fuss. And I also, sorry bud" Jaden began with a quick apologetic notion to Peterson who was slightly taken back. "I bested one of your obelisks here before the year even started so when you talk crap about us, you're practically just insulting yourself."

Those who didn't laugh before did now as the slifer's failed to hold back their own laughter except for Peterson who growled at Jaden for bringing up his defeat a week ago. Alexis and a few other obelisks, mostly Jasmine, covered their mouths as to hide their amused smirks. Bastian simply grinned at the scene as Crowler's eyes went wide with rage and he clenched both his teeth and fists tightly, glaring at Jaden who held up a Churchill-styled victory sign to the other slifers. Zara, who was still unnoticed by the class was unsure what she just walked into as she observed the sight before her.

"You cheeky little brat!" Crowler snarled through clenched teeth. "How dare you disrespect me in such a manner."

"What exactly did I walk into?"

The entire room froze as Zara announced her presence and Crowler almost went limp as he wondered when she arrived and how long she was there. Hearing his sister's voice, Syrus tried to hide in his seat, but the top of his head was already noticed by her. Her scowl returned as a result and those who saw it became nervous. Especially the slifer reds as her glare was directed at their location.

"Mrs Truesdale" Crowler spoke out, embarrassment was still on him. "I take it your meeting with the Chancellor went well. How long have you been there?"

"Not long" She replied and headed to her seat. "What exactly was going on here?"

The room remained silent as it appeared no one wanted to answer but to their surprise, Jaden stood up and looked directly at her. Chumley, who remained silent throughout the whole event gawked at Jaden as the boy didn't even flinch when Zara's eyes met his.

"Teach asked a stupid question, and I gave a stupid answer so nothing much."

As if it were another to his ego, Crowler once again gritted his teeth in frustration.

"That dammed slacker!"

The class gave shocked murmurs in response but only Zara wasn't fazed at all.

"Whatever" was her reply.

Jaden sat back down, unfazed by some of the looks he was receiving, some were in awe in a way of 'did this slacker just address Truesdale?', and some were scowls in the tone of 'who the fuck does this slacker think he is?'. Crowler however was in the 'I will make this slacker pay' mood as he kept gritting his teeth.

"Well!" he grunted. "Since we now have all the students in class. Shall we continue the lesson!"

As Crowler re-continued the lecture, Chumley leaned to Jaden.

"Are you for real?" he whispered. "Did you really just do that?"

Without any hesitation, Jaden gave Chumley a thumbs up.

"Yep."

Sometime later. Class 3C – Alchemy

If anyone wondered why there was a class dedicated to Alchemy then no one had the answer as Professor Banner explained the history of Alchemy to the class with most of the reds, blues, and yellows listening with curiosity, but one red was slowly falling asleep.

"Man, this is more boring," Jaden thought as he held back a yawn."Why is this related to duelling again?"

Sat next to him, Syrus nudged Jaden's arm to wake him up but was unsuccessful as Jaden continued to nod off.

"Jaden, wake up. Banner will notice" Syrus quietly informed him and continued to nudge. Unbeknownst to Syrus however, Banner did indeed notice.

"Alas, the wonders of alchemy are not for everyone it seems," Banner thought but then noticed something brown at the two students' feet. A grin grew on his face as a fun thought came to mind. "Although, I think we can liven the class up" he plotted as the idea finalised in his head. "Young Syrus?"

The boy 'eeped' as Banner called him out. Thinking it may be like Crowler's class, the boy slowly stood up.

"Yes professor?"

Seeing the boy's reaction, Banner couldn't help but wonder what happened in the previous class, but he continued regardless.

"Could you be a big help and pick up Pharoah for me?"

The boys' eyes blinked in confusion.

"Sorry, what?" Syrus asked, unsure if he heard correctly.

"Unless that is you are contempt of being his new scratching post" Banner then added with a big grin and Syrus was still uncertain about what Banner was talking about. Until a rather loud meow sounded from his feet. He quickly looks down, he sees a familiar fat brown cat purring at his leg. The class laughed in response as Syrus picked the cat up.

"Okay so should I bring him to you or…" Syrus began to say but the cat had other ideas as it struggled out of Syrus's grip and onto the desk where he then jumped onto Jaden's head, waking him up in the process.

"Huh, who…wait what?" Jaden blurted out as he felt a familiar weight on his head.

"Well, my students. It seems that Pharoah prefers a head full of hair over a cat bed."

The class laughed louder as Jaden stood up sharply and tried to get the cat of his head but like last time, it stubbornly refuses and swatted at Jaden's attempts to get him off.

"Not again! Hey! Watch the claws!"

Same time. Crowler's office

"No, that won't work" Crowler grumbled as he sat, contemplating a plan. "Accusing of cheating a test maybe…no that will take too long, and the tests are in November. I want him gone before then!"

A knock on his door brought him out of his chain of thoughts, making him irk in annoyance.

"Oh, this better be good, yes what is it?"

The door opened and he was surprised to see the Disciplinary Chairman walk in.

"Chairman Fontaine, what can I do for you?"

"Enough of the pleasantries. I have a certain matter to inform you about your students."

Crowler could only sulk as the chairman took the seat in front of him and made him shudder thanks to that disciplined ice cold stare she has. It's not as terrifying as Zara's stare but it's close.

"What is it this time?"

"Some have been caught within the girls' dormitory grounds during off-lesson hours since last week. This is a brief violation of the dorm protocols" the chairman declared.

Crowler groaned in desperation of anything to relieve him of this as to him it wasn't his concern.

"You do realise that it's not an issue, student couples meeting together is not unusual for an institution of education. Did any go in the dorm itself?"

"No."

"Then what is the concern? It's only during the night hours that it becomes a concern. And I doubt any of my students are violating that rule" Crowler replied adamantly but it only caused the chairman to react.

"That is not the point!" she retorted and slammed her palm, causing Crowler to jump in his seat with a 'whoa' expression on his face. "It's slow acts like this that will lead to violations of the rules, and it is my duty to prevent it at all costs."

Crowler couldn't see how wound up the chairman was about this.

"Pardon me for changing the subject but when was the last time you had time off?"

"Two years ago, and please don't change the subject, this is serious" the chairman replied with no faze whatsoever but Crowler deadpanned quickly in response.

"Wow, your sister wasn't kidding at all!" he thought as the chairman continued.

"So, I won't accept that it is not unusual. Anyone from any of the boy's dorms caught on the girl's dormitory grounds will have consequences. And worse during night hours."

"Of course, same vice versa when if any of the female students sneak to the boy's dorms obviously" Crowler spoke in a deadpanned voice. "I know the rules."

"Well not fully as the punishments for female students is lighter and the harsher punishments are for the boy's" she then added. "Due to Miss Addams insistence."

An annoyed groan emitted from Crowler's mouth once he heard the name.

"Damn radical politician. She is the reason why we have four dorms instead of six" he moaned as the chairman shrugged.

"She is liked in her circle despite being highly disliked by everyone else" she pointed out. "If it weren't for their damn bureaucracy, she would have been kicked out. Not even Mr Kaiba is immune to those annoyances."

Another annoyed groan came from the doctor's mouth.

"Yes, well I don't care about their damn politics" Crowler grumbled. "Fine I will keep a closer eye on what my students do during late evening hours. Shouldn't be an issue as they always abide by the rules."

The chairman took it as an agreement from the doctor's end and decided to leave it at that.

"Good, also ensure that it's just not your students. I doubt that any of the girl's dorm will take interest in the other dorms, but I know full well first-year boys have the habit of trying to sneak a peek at the dorm's residence" she finished off, making her way out of Crowler's office.

"Hah, your one to talk. Your sister told us about your little academic first year of sneaking to a boy's dorm to find a crush of yours" Crowler thought with a smirk and not a moment later, paused as an idea came to mind, a twisted yet possible idea. "Now that is a thought, where is that paper!"

Opening a drawer, he grabbed not just a piece of paper but also an envelope and after grabbing a pen he began to write his scheme.

"Oh ho, this is just brilliant!" he declared and eyed his work. "Ahem, Jaden, from the moment I set eyes on you, I instantly fell in love with you. Meet me by the lack near the girl's dormitory and please by midnight so we are not discovered. I am a genius! When Jaden reads this, he will definitely go and see…see…"

Crowler was so enamoured with his twisted genius that he at first didn't realise that he missed out a key point for his scheme to work but as he ran the scenario in his head, it dawned on him.

"Huh, who is Jaden going to see again?" he pondered and hit a mental dead end. "Bugger, I need to put a name in the damn letter, and it has to be convincing. Also, it must be someone he knows maybe. Better if its someone he doesn't?" he thought and the next second, dead end again. "No, that wont work. The slacker will think it's a stalker so he wouldn't go at all so someone he knows it is…. wait? Does he know any of the female students?!"

Crowler slouched in his seat as the possible realisation that his plan has failed before it even began.

"Ugh its hopeless. The slifer slacker needs to know at least one of the dorms residences otherwise it won't even…wait a minute!" Crowler muttered angrily until a spark from his grey cells began knocking. "He does…he does know some of them."

Crowler's memories (Extracted from Chapter III to save time. Readers, skip if you want too)

"Hey Jade, you in trouble with the teach too?" Jaden asked out of nowhere causing Jade to roll her eyes, but she instead got startled as Crowler again slammed his hands onto the desk.

"I beg your pardon?! Its doctor does not teach, and since when are you on a first name basis with Miss Princeton and no, she is not in trouble, but you certainly are!"

Syrus had practically jumped behind the committee member who was surprised at how fast the boy was while Jaden remained calm and looked at Crowler as if he was overreacting, which he certainly was.

"Er should I come back later when you've calmed down or…" Jaden was about to start but he could not finish as Crowler burst out again.

"No, you are staying right there, young mister!" the clown looking Phd lecturer bellowed but instantly coughing into his hand and sitting back down on his chair. "Now then let us get to the point. You know why you're here?"

Jaden just blinked several times and wondered if he should make a joke by saying why, did you forget or to remind you why I'm here but that would most likely get him in trouble even if it was worth it but it's not even his first day so in the end it wasn't.

"Because of the incident on the ship" Jaden replied.

"Exactly and what have we learned?" Crowler continued.

Jade listening in sighed at the word incident as she thought that they were talking about the interaction between Jaden and the two knuckleheads, Bratt and Troy. They must have complained about it to Crowler and tried to make it look like Jaden started it. Even though it was Bratt who launched the first punch only to be countered and tackled. Before Jaden could even say another word, she immediately interrupted.

"Tackling Obelisk Blues despite they started it will get you sent to Obelisk heads office" she casually stated and within a second both Jaden and Crowler looked at her in confusion which in turn confused her. Also, upon hearing this the committee member who had just a few seconds earlier directed Syrus from hiding behind him by gripping the ear took interest and listened in.

"I beg your pardon but what did you just say Mrs Princeton?" Crowler asked.

"The incident you're talking about obviously" Jade replied but only received more confusion from the two.

"What are you talking about?" Jaden asked and now it was her turn to be confused.

"What are you talking about?"

"We are talking about his childish conduct of making fun of a teacher on the cruise yesterday" Crowler answered and in response Jaden slyly pointed his finger to Crowler himself to indicate which teacher it was to Jade, but the doctor noticed it anyway. "And who are you pointing at?"

"Nothing" Jaden lied and stood straight as he felt the glare from the committee member dig into the back of his head.

"Wait a moment, Miss Princeton are you saying that this slacker has picked a fight with two of my Obelisks?" Crowler quickly interrogated as he leaned towards Jade's direction, thinking that he may already have an opportunity to get Jaden closer to being kicked out.

"But they started it!" Jaden protested.

"Shut your mouth boy!" the committee member snapped sharply.

Crowler could only help but grin maniacally as finally Jaden was now in the committee's crosshairs, and he did not have to do a thing.

"It seems that I don't need to put some rules or anything else on this slacker. He might have just done my job for me though that does just leave the little squirt back there to deal with otherwise Mrs Truesdale will no doubt bury me alive" he thought and looked back to Jade.

"So, tell me more about this new incident Mrs Princeton. What has Mr Yuki done?"

"Actually, its Troy and Bratt, they started it after I told them to not do anything stupid."

Not exactly what Crowler wanted to hear as he was expecting more of the Slifer slacker picked a fight with two Obelisks because he was uncivilised and that sort of thing.

"They also told Alexis to fuck off" Jaden interjected and once more the committee member told him to shut it.

Crowler however had no choice but let that statement ring in his ears as he wasn't sure he heard right and part of him was hopeful he wasn't.

"Alexis? He better not mean who I think it is?" he wondered. "Mr Yuki, this Alexis. Do you mean Miss Rhodes by any chance?"

"Er Alexis Rhodes, yeah her" Jaden answered and Crowler's face dropped as his mind raced uncomfortably.

"This slacker knows not just the third best female student in the academy but also the second!" he cried frustratingly within his mind. "Does this mean he possibly knows…no, no out of the question. I doubt he is on speaking terms with Miss Truesdale. No way she would take any sort of interest in this runt, especially since he is friends with her pipsqueak of a brother. The same brother she is blackmailing me to expel for crying out loud! Calm down Vellian old boy, calm down. Let us just focus on what is happening now."

Back to the Present

"He knows both Miss's Rhodes and Princeton. How exactly I cannot fathom but at least I have two names to go with… hmmm."

Crossing his arms, he looked to the written fake love letter again and pondered thoroughly on the scheme.

"So, who should I go for? It sounds like he met Miss Princeton before Miss Rhodes, but it doesn't sound like they are close as it seems their interaction is formal. Miss Rhodes on the other hand is unfortunately sympathetic towards those red dullards and come to think of it, I have seen them talk once or twice in the corridor" he considered as he looked back on things and to him the conclusion is simple. "Very well, Alexis Rhodes it is" he finally decided and wrote her name down on the letter. "Now then, ahe-he-hem, Jaden, from the moment I set eyes on you, I instantly fell in love with you. Meet me by the lake at the girl's dormitory by midnight so we are not discovered, Alexis Rode-oh shit I spelt her surname wrong."

Crowler eyed the name in the letter as he realised that he missed out the 'H' in Alexis's surname but with a shrug he folded the letter and put it in the envelope. "Damn slacker probably won't even notice" he muttered and opened another drawer and pulled out a silver cylinder. "Fonda misplacing her damn make-up here and there does have its perks I suppose."

Twisting the cylinder, a tip of lipstick emerged and Crowler took from the same drawer a small mirror.

"Right, haven't done this since the school play years ago but the scheme must go on" Crowler spoke to himself and applied the lipstick to his lips. Keeping the mirror still he applied the lipstick perfectly and once he finished, he picked up the envelope and kissed the back it hard. Pulling away, he sees the kiss mark appear perfect.

"Ha, the big kiss off!" he giggled with glee and dumped the lipstick and mirror back in the drawer and pulled out some wipes. He wiped of the lipstick and with a free hand, typed on the keyboard and the monitor screen buzzed with activity. "Now in order to plant this I need to ensure he is preoccupied from his bag or something" he muttered aloud and checked the student timetable, his eyes shot open as a big piece of info appeared. "Ah, he has sports in the gym in a few minutes. That's our baby!"

Duel Academy Sports Hall

Jaden and Bastian felt out of sorts as out of the whole present class, they were the only ones not staring with hearts in their eyes at their instructor, who is none other than Nurse Fontaine. She was wearing her jacket, but underneath was quite the outfit. She wore a sports leotard which hugged her body nicely and showed off her legs rather seductively. If Fontaine noticed the looks, she received then she certainly did keep her composure about it as she started the class without any delay.

"Alright class. As the head nurse of the academy, I am also your sports instructor so while we are doing sports, just call me Miss Fontaine, okay."

"Yes ma'am!" was the resounding cry and both Jaden and Bastian sweat dropped.

"I think these guys are a little too eager" Jaden whispered to Bastian's side.

"No kidding" the Ra responded but their attention was brought back as Fontaine continued.

"Now class, before we start the session, we must do some stretches so everyone will need a partner for these stretches as we will throw in some yoga poses. Now I will also need a partner so any volunteers?"

Within an instant, every member in the class, except for Jaden and Bastian again, reacted with gleams in their eyes as their hands shoot up in unison.

"I volunteer!" was said in unison and Fontaine couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.

"Well, they are determined to learn I give them that" she thought to herself and noticed the two who didn't join them. "Oh, those two didn't volunteer. They probably find the others a bit too eager…oh?" she figured and then noticed that one of them was very familiar. "That's Jaden Yuki isn't it, the one who defeated both Velian and the bully Peterson. Certainly, showed those two…maybe…" she pondered, realising who the student was and gave a grin. "Excuse me, Jaden Yuki, is it?"

Startled, Jaden looked to the head nurse as all heads present looked in confusion.

"Er, yes miss?" he asked, and his eyes widened as Fontaine began to beckon him over.

"Could you be a dear and be my partner for this exercise, please" Fontaine asked sweetly, and Jaden gulped in response.

"Huh? Me?" Jaden responded and out of nowhere, he felt the weight on dozens of angry glares behind his back. Quickly thinking that he needs to put some space between him and them, he had to agree otherwise he is going to be surrounded by an angry mob. "Oh okay, sure miss."

Eyes still on him, Jaden made his way to Fontaine's side and the head nurse placed a hand on his shoulder. The glares became more jealous and madder causing him to gulp in response.

"Now everyone else partner up and we can begin."

The group shuffled as each student got a partner.

"Let us begin with a stretch. Mr Yuki, please go behind me and put your hands on my waist."

"Sorry what?!" Jaden choked in response.

"Place your hands on my waist please" Fontaine repeated.

The jaws of the group, minus Bastian, dropped to the floor as Jaden placed his hands on the teacher's waist. Some of them began to cry tears as the thought 'Lucky Bastard' rang through their minds.

"Now everyone copies what we are doing" Fontaine told them, and the class did just that. "Now those in the front, space your feet and reach for the ceiling with your hands like so" she continued, and the group copied her. To their joy however, as she made the pose, the open jacket she wore gave way and her chest became more visible. Once again jaws dropped as the outline of Fontaine's breasts came to view and they immediately thanked Slifer or Ra for this wondrous sight.

"Oh my god she is so hawt!" a Ra student whispered.

"No kidding, and that kid is missing the sights. Guess he wasn't so lucky after all" another whispered in reply.

"Alright class now what I want you all to do next is reach out and bend forward, bringing your hands from the ceiling to the floor like so…and stretch" Fontaine continued with the class and the students copied her instructions to the letter. Those that stretched immediately felt some resistance in their backs and also in their arms as they stretched further outward. Bastian on the otherhand found it quite relaxing.

"Hmm, perhaps I should add a morning workout to my routine. This is quite relaxing on the muscle joints" he thought while the rest grumbled their thoughts, somewhat loudly.

"Ow, I think I broke my back" a Slifer muttered.

"You probably made your back pop. Stop complaining!" his partner replied and looked to both Fontaine and Jaden. "Holy crap" he then spoke under his breath.

To those standing, they saw what the slifer saw and immediately there was colour in their cheeks but not as much as Jaden for he found himself in the most awkward position. Still holding Fontaine's waist, her stretch had caused her bum to rub against Jaden and the position made it look like Jaden was taking the head nurse from behind. Jaden's face was almost redder than Slifer the Sky Dragon itself as Fontaine straightened herself with her hands towards the ceiling again.

"Okay class, we are going to do those four more times and…" she informed them but paused as she saw the look on their faces. "Class please relax, we are just doing routine stretches and exercises so there is no need to be embarrassed about holding another boy's waist."

"She doesn't get it!" was the universal thought from the class as Fontaine proceeded to do the exercise again.

"Again, for the second time" she announced, and Jaden felt the brush against him once more, he turned even redder as he glanced down and sees her perfect ass almost pressed against him and his hands holding her luscious hips.

"Hold up, when did I ever think the nurse has a perfect butt and hips?" he thought and instantly let go. "Excuse me, can I go get some water?" he asked without thinking.

"Of course, water is vital in physical education so…" she replies but as she stood up from her stretch, she noticed his face. "Jaden, are you alright? You look overheated."

True enough, Jaden is red in the face, but it is a very deep red and almost looks like a sunburn. The group notices and most began to smirk at the sight.

"Oh man, if he wasn't a slifer before, he is now" a Ra sniggered.

"He's redder than the jacket!" a Slifer added.

"Excuse me but this is not a laughing matter, heatstroke is very serious!" Fontaine interrupted their new topic. "Jaden go and get some water and also splash water on your face."

"Okay, should I also go to the nurse's office?"

"You could but I won't be there" Fontaine replied and once more the group sniggered.

"Oh…right."

Few moments later in the Locker Room

Jaden gasps as he took a huge swig of water. The redness leaving his face as he relaxed on the locker benches. A flutter of wings from his left alerted him as Kuriboh appeared at his side.

"Hey Kuriboh" Jaden spoke, taking another swig from his water bottle. Kuriboh chirped in response. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just wasn't ready for that. At first, I thought I was going to be dealing with glares but then I ended feeling the nurses butt press against me as she did that stretch."

"Well for what I saw, it's an experience you won't forget in a while."

Jaden looks to see Yubel appear and sit on the bench opposite him.

"And I am also surprised she didn't feel anything, either she is so focused on her work that she won't notice a growing bulge brush against that seductive rear of hears so she really cannot feel anything below the waist. Which confuses me as that would mean she is paralyzed and therefore shouldn't be able to walk."

Kuriboh gave out a 'Eh?' chirp in response to Yubel's bizarre observation, especially the paralyze comment.

"I doubt she is paralyzed as that makes no sense, so she is mostly fully immersed in her work to notice… what occurred but it was noticed by the others" Jaden added and Yubel grinned her usual grin.

"I noticed that too. I had no idea that it was so satisfying to watch them squirm in jealousy as who held her hips and looked like you were taking her from behind" Yubel told him.

"I had a feeling that was the case from the glares. Seriously what is with the thirst for hot teachers by students?" Jaden then complained and stood up. "I mean get a life for crying out loud."

Yubel gave out a snicker as she and Kuriboh de-materialised.

"What is it?" Jaden asked as he made his way out of the locker rooms.

"Just that you said that while confirming that your teacher is hot."

Crowler Alert!

Crowler hid as he sees Jaden leave the locker room and heads back to the sports hall.

"Almost walked into the slacker" he muttered to himself and emerged from his hiding place. "Well, least I know no one will be present."

Looking down the hallway to the sports hall and seeing it empty yet hearing the class happening, the obelisk blue head teacher sneaks into the locker room while keeping an eye out behind him.

"Hah, I should apply for a secret agent role" he gloated to himself as he approaches the lockers. "Now which one is the slacker's locker?" he asks himself and opens the first one. "Nope, not this one" he states and opens another. "Not this one either… no… no… no… nope… uh-uh… no… no… good grief this one stinks like patchouli, oh it's the lost and found locker… no… no… where is it… no… aha!"

Crowler investigates the locker and sees he has indeed found the right one as Jaden's bag was unmistakable due to it has a 'J. Yuki' label on the side. He pauses for a moment as he investigates the inside of the locker. "Huh, for a slacker he keeps his locker rather neatly. Ah well who cares" he declares as he takes out the incriminating fake love letter and places it on top of Jaden's folded uniform. "Oh, I am so looking forward to witnessing the fall of the slifer slacker tonight."

With a generous laugh for himself, Crowler makes his way to the door but stops halfway and looks to the lockers he opened.

"Ah, I should probably close them first."

Crowler then closed each locker he previously opened and made one last look around to make sure he didn't leave anything out of place. With that task done, he makes his way to the door and exits the locker room. Closing the door behind him, he makes his way towards the sports hall main exit when he hears someone running to his position.

"Who the hell is this?" he thought and quickly hides around the corner of the adjacent hallway as Syrus runs past where he hid and enters the locker room. "Oh, if it isn't the other slacker, and he appears to be late. Yeesh."

Crowler now seeing that the coast is now clear, makes his escape.

Syrus P.O.V

"Damn I am so late. Seriously, how can I be late? I left the last class the same time as Jaden" Syrus panicked and went straight to his locker. "Well, I did go back to the dorm… and Banner asked for help with… damn I really need to set priorities."

Syrus then opened his locker and paused when he noticed that it already had a uniform in it.

"Huh, is that… oh c'mon Jaden. This is the second time man, this is my locker, not…" he called out to no one but stopped when a certain letter fell of Jaden's kit and landed at his feet. "Hmm? What's this?"

Leaning down he picks it up and notices the lipstick mark.

"Is this… a love letter?" he wondered and in an instant his face blushed as he realised that it was indeed a love letter. "Holy crap an actual love letter… for me… but who is it from?" he thought and opened it. "Okay, err… set eyes on you I fell in… Love!... with you!" He read but failed to see who it was addressed to. "Oh my god, oh my god. Someone loves me, who?"

Syrus searched the end of the letter, and his heart skipped a beat when he sees the sender.

"Alexis?" he cried and collapsed onto the bench. "Oh my god, Alexis Rhodes is in love with me!"

He kept his eyes fixed on Alexis's name on the letter and tried to process what he is seeing. Alexis Rhodes, the queen of Obelisk Blue, second top duellist behind his sister, is in love with him. He didn't know how to react and folded the letter up. He shoved it into his pocket and took a deep breath. He glanced to the locker rooms clock and returned to the locker to grab his kit. "Think about it later, for now just get to class."

Duel Academy Sports Hall

"No pain no gain students, keep up those laps" Fontaine called out after blowing her whistle to state the beginning of the next lap. The group are running a decent sprint, but most are already feeling a limit reach them. Jaden and Bastian however are keeping pace and are behind the lead sprinters. And Jaden was feeling embarrassed as Bastian finishes detailing the situation before his departure for water.

"Well, this is now beyond awkward that's for sure" Jaden grumbled in response as the two made the turn. "How come the teach didn't realise that?"

"Probably too focused on the task at hand and besides she must have done the same thing with the other students so nothing must have come up" Bastian replied. "Must say you did well to keep calm in that situation. You're lucky the blood went to your face and nowhere else."

Jaden felt a lump in his throat and giggled nervously.

"Yeah, to my face" he said quietly and looked to the track before him and noticed a new arrival and a chance to change the subject. "Hey look it's Sy."

Bastian upon hearing this looked to where Jaden was looking and indeed saw Syrus head over to Nurse Fontaine.

"So, it is" Bastian remarked. "I wonder what kept him?"

"Dunno but I think we are about to find out. Here he comes."

And true to Jaden's word. Syrus joined the two of them on the tracks.

"Hey guys, sorry I'm late. I dropped by the dorm and got sidetracked with Professor Banner" Syrus told them as they came to the next turn.

"Don't sweat it. You didn't miss much except an exercise" Jaden told him.

"Okay, so what was the exercise? Did you two do anything particular like a stretch or something?"

Syrus's question made Jaden look the other way, but Bastian decided to answer.

"Not at all but Jaden certainly got a hands-on experience with the exercise to be honest."

Jaden gawked in shock at Bastian who gave nothing but a grin in return.

"Bastian you git!" Jaden managed to say, and Syrus became confused.

"What do you mean hands-on?"

"Nothing!" Jaden replied sharply but all it did him was receive an amused smirk from Bastian and a rather suspicious Syrus.

The whistle from Fontaine sounded again.

"Alright class, I want three more laps and then we are cutting the session short as I have a teacher's meeting to attend so you all are getting longer lunch break" the head nurse announced, and the students gave a cheer in response. "This does mean however that the next sports session will be longer with additional laps" Fontaine then announced further, and the student's cheering dropped greatly like a ton of bricks. This made Fontaine smirk.

Back on the track, Syrus was told about Jaden's partnership with Fontaine and the boy couldn't help but blush.

"Damn, wish I could have felt her waist" Syrus innocently said which caused Bastian to laugh and Jaden to gawk.

"I was not feeling her, I was holding her!" he protested but it only made Bastian laugh harder.

"No matter how you say it, to the rest of the group you were the lucky bastard as it were" Bastian added.

Jaden grumbled in defeat as his friends just grinned at him as they turned the corner of the last lap.

"Anyway, never mind me you two!" Jaden declared while still receiving grins. "Why were you late Syrus? I mean it's not like you didn't know where the sports hall was."

"Er" Syrus mumbled out as they approached the lap line. "Banner asked me for help when I arrived at the dorm. Turns out Pharoah stole tonight's dinner and despite it now has cat slobber. Banner wanted help to retrieve it."

A resounding moan of despair escaped Jaden's mouth.

"We're having fish again, aren't we?"

"Not anymore it seems as Banner and I only managed to get the fish bones" Syrus explained as they crossed the lap line and came to a stop, moving out of the way for the runners behind. "Looks like it's just rice tonight."

With another moan escaping Jaden, he proceeded to the bench and sat down. Grabbing his water bottle as he did and took a large swig. "I am definitely going to raid the academy store for food, I mean I have the duel points to get them so no problem there."

"Are you telling me you never spent any of your points?" Bastian inquired.

"Yep, saving them for emergencies such as tonight. So Sy, what should I get? Noodles and biscuits or energy bars and pop" Jaden planned and by doing such received a judgemental look from Bastian.

"Do we need to have another talk about proper diet Jaden because it sure looks that way."

Jaden grimaced in response as the concept of another dietary talk with Professor Misawa terrified him immensely.

"Hell no, and besides with the kitchen antics back at the dorm right now. I don't have many options" Jaden pointed out and looked to Syrus. "Well, what's on the menu?"

Syrus however was no longer paying attention as when the mention of what is to happen later at night, the letter's instructions spoke in his mind and the prospect of seeing Alexis late at night made him shudder nervously as he wasn't sure what he would say or do in such a situation. He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice Jaden's hand wave in front of him by mere inches.

"Hello, Earth to Syrus. Sy?" Jaden was saying but it didn't seem to gain a reaction. "Sorry in advance buddy" Jaden then said and with a no hesitation he stuck his finger into his mouth.

"You are not going to do what I think you are going to do are you?" Bastian questioned, rather unimpressed as Jaden took his finger out, now covered in saliva.

"You have a better idea?" Jaden responded and Bastian moved to Syrus's side.

"Why yes, yes I do" the Ra replied and brought his fingers to the front of Syrus's face and clicked them several times. The motion did the trick as Syrus blinked in response.

"Huh? What?" the boy bumbled out as Jaden wiped his finger on the side of his tracksuit.

"You okay buddy, you seemed to be in a world of your own just now?"

Syrus caught on quickly to what Jaden meant and fought back a blush of embarrassment.

"Oh yeah I'm fine, just thinking on what to do tonight" Syrus answered, it was the truth but not fully to what Jaden might be thinking.

"So, what's it going to be? Noodles and biscuits or energy bars and pop?" Jaden asked once more.

"A hot date" Syrus accidentally blurted out and the reaction from both Bastian and Jaden was priceless as they gawked in response. Unsure of how to answer.

"Flattered but I don't swing that way" Jaden replied as he felt a sweat drop on his forehead.

"Same here unless you mean the fruit. I am pretty sure Dates are meant to be eaten cold" Bastian also replied.

Hearing their responses, Syrus realised what he had blurted out and shook his head in response.

"No, no, no that's not what I meant. I was still thinking of something else" the boy frantically told them. "I gotta go."

Syrus then left before either Jaden or Bastian could say another word. Leaving them both stumped as he disappears down the corridor. Jaden now was trying to wrap his head around what just happened.

"So, did that sound suspicious to you at all" Jaden inquired with Bastian.

"It most definitely was and thinking on it, he surely was not talking out the fruit" the Ra replied and wiped his forehead with a towel. "You think he has a crush?"

"A card crush or an actual crush?" Jaden answered with his own question.

"Clearly an actual crush Jaden, he cannot exactly date a card unless he has lost the plot. Perhaps someone in the girl's dorm caught his eye."

Jaden blinked and considered Bastian's words and saw that he has a point.

"Your right but who exactly is it. I mean it's the start of our second week and Syrus already has a crush on someone?"

"Could be Mindy" Bastian suggested, and Jaden couldn't help but laugh.

"Doubt it. She is more of a judge and grade than a dating girl. Besides we haven't seen much of her except in class."

Bastian thought on the matter and admitted that Jaden was right on that account as Mindy though did find Syrus cute when they first met on the boat. It was still highly improbable that there is something between the two.

"Then I stand corrected, it may as well be as something silly as a card crush but what card could he have a crush on. I doubt he has a crush on something like Giga Gagagigo or Magnet Warrior."

Jaden shook his head.

"There's Harpy Lady, Mystical Elf, Mystical Sands, Dark Magician Girl, and plenty other hot female monsters and yes it's possible as I seen the original artworks before the censorship set in" Jaden pointed out. "I mean you must have seen the original image of 'D.M.G' before it was forced to be changed right."

"I have indeed, and I also recall the uproar it caused and therefore forcing the image to be changed" Bastian replied. "Which is ironic because the ones who demanded the change never even played the game nor are interested."

An annoyed grunt sounded from Jaden's throat as he crossed his arms.

"Tell me about it."

Rest of the day passes: Duel Academy Card Shop

The first day of the second week passes like an instant with nothing new happening at all, except for Syrus acting odd during the days remainder as he kept quiet and kept his head down. The boy's behaviour eventually caught Jaden's attention who keeps making glances towards Syrus whilst checking the card packs. Syrus was just staring at the booster packs on display as if he was in his own world and frankly it began to creep Jaden out.

"Man, is Syrus possessed or something because he is starting to act like that creep from that movie… what was it again?" he thought but he didn't ponder long as he gave the boy a nudge. "Yo Syrus, you at home?"

"Huh, buh, wur, wha…" Syrus reacted and realised Jaden nudging him. "Oh, sorry did you say something?"

Jaden just looked at him as though he is unwell, the process made Syrus uncertain on what was going but he waited for Jaden to start speaking again.

"You okay exactly, you have been staring at those booster packs in what felt like ages. You good buddy?"

"Hmm, oh year I am okay. I just… don't know what to get that's all" Syrus replied and returned to look at the booster packs on display. Jaden in response thought of a idea to get Syrus out of whatever is clearly bothering him and at the same time, ask the question that he keeps forgetting to ask.

"Well, what kind of deck do you use. It will help decide on what booster pack you want" he suggested and picked a pack up. "What do you use, warriors? Zombies? Spellcasters?"

"Roids" Syrus replied without looking up and Jaden blinked.

"Roid what?"

It didn't take long for Syrus to realise his error in answer and chuckled lightly, rubbing the back of his head as he did.

"Sorry, I use Roid monsters. They are a machine type" he explained, adding the key detail of what type they are as well.

"So, you're like your sister. You use a machine-type deck" Jaden inquired further.

Though it was meant to be an innocent comparison, Jaden realised his mistake when Syrus looked away from the packs and stare at the floor.

"Ah sorry! That was a bad comparison!" he blurted out, but he was surprised when Syrus simply gave him a grin.

"No need as you are right in a way. I do use a machine deck just like my sister but on that note, don't you also have a machine deck. I mean you did beat Crowler with one."

"Yeah of course but like I said it is not my main deck."

As the two were talking, three certain obelisks walked in and approached the counter where Dorothy stood, checking a store inventory list. The store owner only noticed them as they got to the counters edge and upon seeing the first of them, she gave a big smile.

"Alexis, it's good to see you again."

Upon hearing Alexis's name mentioned. Both Jaden and Syrus looked up to see not just Alexis but Jasmine and Mindy also.

"Hey, look it's… "Jaden began but before he could finish, Syrus had just rushed out of the store as if he was chased by the roadrunner. "… Alexis?" he bumbled out. Blinking several times, he began to gawk in disbelief at what just happened, and a thousand questions ran out in his head. "What the heck happened here? Why is he acting like that? Did something happen before the gym lesson? I have so many questions?"

Meanwhile, as the situation wasn't noticed, Alexis gave Dorothy a little wave.

"Hi Dorothy, how are things in the store?"

"Calm and full of customers as usual" Dorothy replied and opened a drawer under the counter. "Speaking of customers, the reserve order you made is here and ready for collection" she continued and took out a package. "Fifty booster packs, fifteen effect packs, ten spell packs, and twenty-five normal packs."

If Jaden was drinking something now, then he would have spat it out. If he recalls correctly, the effect packs are part of the advanced packs which are at a hundred and fifty. The ten spell packs are specialised packs worth around three hundred and fifty and the normal packs are just standard packs and they're worth a hundred. If one would count it up and for one who hates math but can do it despite it being a major headache. It means that Alexis just spent over ten thousand duel points in one go.

"Holy heck! Just how many duels did she win to get that amount?" he pondered as he watched her take the package and after thanking Dorothy and bidding goodbye. She, Mindy, and Jasmine left the store with Jaden following only with his eyes. "I really should ask her how she did that."

Whilst he stared at the door, he did not see someone come from behind and poke him hard in the back of the head. With a small yelp, he turned around sharply to see the coy-looking face of Jade's cousin, Sadie, staring right at him.

"Well, someone is staring beyond his reach that's for sure" Sadie commented with an amused tone, but Jaden felt that it was a little mocking as well.

"Er… what do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb with me slifer. I saw you stare at Rhodes" Sadie continued, and Jaden noticed that a few eyes turned to look at them. It was becoming awkward fast.

"Hey, I wasn't staring… like that. I was just stumped by what she did. I mean fifty packs in one go and if I am right then that's like ten-thousand points worth" Jaden explained and pointed to where Alexis collected her packs.

"Actually, it was ten-thousand and five hundred duel points" Sadie pointed out.

"How do you know that?" Jaden gaped and Sadie just sighed and pointed to the staff door. "Oh yeah, you work here. Speaking of which why are you not in uniform?"

Just as he said, Sadie isn't wearing her store outfit and instead wearing her dorm attire with the exception that the jacket is undone to reveal the black shirt underneath which is revealed to be quite a tight fit.

"Oh, I am so glad Yubel isn't here otherwise she would make this even more awkward than it is," he thought to himself.

"Did someone call me?" a certain voice announced herself and Jaden bridged his nose in self-annoyance.

"Me and my big mouth."

"It's my day off, also what is up with you?" Sadie inquired as Yubel in her transparent form appeared above them.

"Nothing, just… trying to do the maths on how many duels Alexis had to win in order to have ten-thousand duel points" Jaden said quickly.

"Huh, am I missing something here?" Yubel asked and then noticed Sadie and her present appearance. "Wow, she is really showing the figure isn't she."

"Goddammit!" Jaden cursed, fortunately for him though is that Sadie is assuming that he is struggling with the maths and nothing else.

"Wow you really are not good at maths but your also wrong. Remember when I said that you gain duel points from duels. You also get certain amounts from how well you duel, the better you duel the more you get" Sadie detailed it out more. "Also, it depends on who your duelling, that's why most obelisks won't duel slifers. Not worth the points so they mainly do it for shits and giggles."

The last piece of information hit hard as it revealed why he didn't get into any duel since Jade, no one wanted to duel him because of it wouldn't be worth any duel points. Or so he thought at first and looked back since day one.

"What about me? I'm a slifer and I beat Crowler and Greg's so would I be worth a lot of points to beat if I was challenged?"

The question stumped Sadie for a moment, and it is apparent that she is giving it some thought.

"Nope, they wouldn't give a damn."

"Really?!" Jaden blurted out in disbelief, even Yubel is surprised.

"Yeah, you see, you know that duel you 'didn't' have with Jade" Sadie continued but also lowered her voice so only he can hear.

"Yes?"

"And you know those idiots that follow my cousin around."

Though he had a headache from figuring out the math previously, he was still able to quickly deduce what she is talking about, and it wasn't a good thing.

"Oh no" he breathed as he began to realise it.

"Well, you see. They went around the blue dorms and told everyone save the teachers that you duelled Jade and even though it wasn't finished… they made it look like you were losing so… that happened" Sadie finished, and Jaden sighed in frustration.

"I will literally ruin their lives" he growled which made Sadie slightly nervous. "Those two are responsible for me not getting a duel. Assholes!"

"Already on it" Yubel suddenly spoke and disappeared from Jaden's sight.

"Wait what did she…" he began to panic but couldn't think more on it as his attention was caught by Sadie who got closer.

"I never considered you to be a hostile person and more of an idiot but damn that threat sounded sincere" she said to him, and he calmed down.

"Sorry, I tend to make threats when I get angry, but I never do carry them out" he replied. "Also was that meant to be a compliment or a…"

"Observation" she quickly stated. "Just observation."

Not the best answer to receive but at least it wasn't an insult. Just then a chill went up his spin and it creeped him out immensely. He had no idea what it was, so he thought nothing of it but then he noticed the look on Sadie's face. She appeared to be a little uncomfortable and she wasn't the only one as from the corner of his eyes, he sees everyone else in the store give off the same expression.

"You okay?" he inquired to Sadie and she nodded.

"I'm fine, just had a weird feeling" she replied, and Jaden then considered that she too felt a chill. Suddenly a piercing scream sounded from outside the store, and it alerted everyone present. It also made Dorothy drop what she was doing as she looked towards the store's entrance.

"What was that?" she cried out, but no one answered as everyone began to rush out of the store to find the source. Jaden and Sadie followed the group behind as another scream was heard. It was coming from the main floor below, so they all rushed to the railings and looked down. There was a gathering of students at the entrance, and they encircled two individuals. At first, it seemed that the two were doing a weird dance near some indoor plot plants and a bin until they started running through the crowd and cries of shock and disgust came out as they were pushed aside. There was also something on the floor and it was coming from the two that are trying to force their way into a closed room. Those at the railing had to move to get a better angle and Jaden is one of them.

"Hey, let's all go down to the first floor. We can get a closer look from there" a Ra student from the store said without an answer given. They all headed for the nearest stairs. Dorothy had at that time just come out of the store and looked over the side railing before following the rest. It didn't take them long to reach the first floor and head to the closest side railing and once they did. They gathered again to watch whatever was going on. Jaden now getting a better look was surprised to find that the two sources of attention were Bratt and Troy and the room they are trying to get into is the ground floor staff toilets.

"Is that…" Sadie began after she caught up, but Jaden cut her off with a nod as everyone in the entrance hall and first-floor walkway watched the situation. No one on the walkway knew what was going on until they saw Troy rush to a large indoor plant pot that was currently empty and to the shock of everyone watching, drop his trousers and jumped to sit on it.

"Oh my god how is this happening!" they heard him cry and the group in the entrance hall rushed back while avoiding whatever is on the floor where the two once stood. Bratt continued to hammer the door before crying out and grabbing his rear as if something had stung him. The scene was unexplainable until one of the students that were in the store pointed something out rather loudly.

"I think that guy is shitting his pants!"

With that one sentence, everyone on the walkway reacted as they realised that it is exactly what they are seeing.

"They also crapped on the floor" another student pointed and the unknown substance that they can see on the floor that is being avoided like the plague by the group downstairs is finally realised. The scene was mixed, some of the students got out their PDA's and began to record what they are seeing while others like Sadie looked away in absolute disgust while Jaden just watched with one eye open. Dorothy finally caught up and looked to what is going on and she didn't need telling as she can clearly see what is happening.

"Oh, my word what is going on!" she cried as she watched in shock at Troy and Bratt's predicament.

"I think they are having a diarrhoea attack" the same Ra student from before explained to Dorothy.

"Oh my, everyone stay here" she announced and hurried to the wall where a phone is attached. Picking it up she spoke into it and to everyone's surprise they heard Dorothy's voice coming from speakers. "Attention students near the entrance hall, please avoid the area until told. Any student within the entrance hall is to vacate immediately. Will staff and Nurse Fontaine please go to the entrance hall. We have two sick students; I repeat will students leave the hall and will staff, and Nurse Fontaine please go to the hall."

Once done she put the phone back and pulled out some keys from her pocket.

"Okay I want all of you to go to the library or the cafeteria. Avoid the ground floor entrance hall. If you want to return to your dorms, please wait until the entrance hall is cleared first" she said to them before heading to the stairway and heads down.

"Is she going down there?" another student asked no one in particular.

"Yes, those two down there are trying to get into the staff toilets but its locked. Dorothy being a member of staff has the key to open it" Sadie answered and stepped away from the railing. Clearly having seen enough, she began to make her way to one of the corridors leading further into the academy. "I am out of here. God that is so gross!"

"Okay, see you another time Sadie" Jaden just said to her but never got a reply. Looking back down, he sees Dorothy has reached them and from the look on their faces, they are happy to see her. The group of students that were in the entrance hall had exited already and as Dorothy began to open the door, some staff members have begun to arrive along with a disciplinary member. The group he is with are now beginning to make their leave, but Jaden didn't join them. Instead, he went down the same corridor Sadie went down and looked for an empty classroom and as luck would have it, he found one. Checking his surroundings before going in he entered and closed the door behind him. "Yubel you better fucking come out. I know your are behind what just happened!"

It didn't take long for Yubel to show herself and when she sees that they are in an empty classroom, she fully materialises and stands before Jaden who is now rather pissed.

"Yubel, could you explain what the fuck just happened with the two if I am correct. Just earlier you said that you are already on it?!"

Yubel was taken aback by his current demeanour as it made her quite concerned and so she took a breath.

"Okay but promise me you will let me explain."

"Explain what exactly!" a resounding chirp said before the two could do anything else. Kuriboh appeared between them, causing Yubel to groan in response.

"Great the little winged furball is here too. Who else is joining us exactly?"

Jaden however gave an intimidating 'ahem' which stopped her from continuing.

"Don't change the subject Yubel. Did you poison those two obelisks?"

"Did she what?" Kuriboh chirped and the two of them stared at Yubel, waiting for an answer.

The duel spirit found herself a bit cornered as she didn't really think that Jaden would be so absolutely furious at her. Kuriboh she didn't care about at all anyway and the only reason he is here is that he felt what she did with something else.

"Well to get it out of the way, first is that yes, I used the power of the shadow realm to make an envelope that lasted under a minute so that's what you felt fuzzball" she nonchalantly confessed but it didn't make the other duel spirit happy.

"I friggin knew it!" Kuriboh chirped angrily.

"And on the subject of poisoning… they did it to themselves."

Both Jaden and Kuriboh stared at Yubel in silence and then looked at each other. Both shared the same look as they came to the same conclusion.

"I am calling bullshit" Jaden declared bluntly.

"But it's true!" Yubel defended herself rather childishly.

"Really then tell us how exactly they poisoned themselves?" Kuriboh chirped unconvinced.

"Okay listen, I went to find them to ruin their lives as Jaden wants…"

"Already regretting that considering what I saw" Jaden interrupted.

"Can I please continue?" Yubel pouted and Jaden sighs and gives her a nod. "Thank you, well I found them just as they swapped water bottles with two unsuspecting slifer's."

Curiosity replaced judgement as the two once again looked at each other before facing Yubel again.

"Now I can tell that they must have done something to the water, so I did the shadow stuff and within that minute did the switch-a-roo with the bottles. All I had to do is then wait for them to drink and see what happens" she continued explaining. "Never considered those idiots put laxatives in the water so once they scurried away from the slifer's. They drank their water, and waited for the slifer's to drink theirs only to end up… well… you two can figure out the rest."

To say that Jaden wasn't sure if she was telling the truth is clear on his face. He moved to a nearby desk and leaned against it whilst thinking on Yubel's version of what happened. Despite it being the only version of what happened that he knows off presently.

"What evidence do you have to confirm this and how do you know it was laxatives?"

"That one called Troy has a bottle in his pocket. He took it out after they scurried away, probably to check the label to see how long the effects will kick in" Yubel revealed. "Staff will find it eventually so those two are buggered."

"Kuriboh!" Jaden spoke and the small, winged spirit turned to him. "Can you go and check on that please."

With no word said or sound made, Kuriboh flew out of the classroom through the wall. Leaving Jaden alone with Yubel within the classroom.

"So… you mad?" Yubel asked out of nowhere.

"What gave that away but if you are telling the truth about what you said… I won't be mad anymore" Jaden replied. "But do not go off and do your own thing again… what am I saying, you always do your own thing."

"Wow make it sound like a bad thing why don't ya!"

Before anything else is said, Kuriboh reappears before them and flies over to the desk.

"She told the truth. When I got there, the nurse is holding the bottle and those two are making an excuse that it was a prescription and they accidentally added too much" Kuriboh chirped as he settled on the desk. "I can see through that lie that it was nothing… and I think the nurse does too because she didn't look convinced."

"See! Told you" Yubel boasted smugly. Jaden sighs and makes his way to leave the classroom with both spirits following him whilst turning themselves transparent again. "So that's it?"

"Okay I am sorry that I misjudged and didn't believe you at first but seriously what are the chances that you happen to come upon them committing a cruel prank and that is if you can call it a prank and put them through the most humiliating spectacle of karma in front of a load of students?"

Yubel simply shrugged and Jaden exited the room, checking both sides to see if the coast is clear and spots a few students further down.

"Come on, I need to get to the main store to get some stuff for tonight since the cat apparently eats the food."

Sometime later: Slifer Red Dorm

The sun is already starting to set, and a crowd gathered in the main hall and the atmosphere is dull as the students look at their bowls of rice. As news of the cat's robbery of the fish was received by them, the whole dorm dreaded what they would get and the reaction to see bowls of plain boiled rice is what one would expect.

"Seriously! Just rice?" one of the slifers called out. "I'd rather suffer a tenth day of fish then just have plain rice."

The exasperating sighs from the entire hall confirmed that is what they were all thinking as Jaden sat at his table with Chumley and Syrus. All three sat and looked at the bowls, well two of them as Chumley is already digging in without a care.

"Man, how can you simply eat just plain rice. I mean don't you find it a bit bland?" Syrus asked Chumley who continued to munch down on his dinner.

"Food's food. If I can eat it, then I will eat it" Chumley replied with his mouth full and continued as he did.

"Same goes for the noodles, right?" Jaden pointed out and Chumley froze, giving off a 'got caught' grin.

"I said I was sorry. I mistook your noodles for my afternoon snack noodles" the big lad spoke, and Jaden simply rounded on him with a 'oh is that so' angry look while Syrus hid a smirk on his face.

"You ate those too also!" Jaden called out and Chumley gave off sweat drops like a marathon.

"Boy I am glad I am not Chumley right now" Syrus thought to himself. Whilst this was happening, Banner came in and looked out of breath, but he wasn't alone as another person came in, wearing a white apron and carrying a tin foiled tray.

"Attention students, I have good news" he called to the whole hall. Every student stopped what they are doing and turned to Banner, even Jaden's and Chumley's squabbling stopped. "Now despite the lack of fish incident, I am happy to inform you all that an alternative is available."

He steps aside and reveals the other he came in with and the man is a chef and the newcomer steps in. To the surprise of the hall, the chef is followed by several others, and they all place a tinfoil-covered tray on each table. They then take off the tin foil covering and soon the students smell a delicious fragrance fill their noses as cooked chicken breasts and legs are revealed.

"I managed to get the academy kitchens to cook us a chicken to have with our rice so no bland meal tonight students" Banner declared with a triumphant grin and the students cheered at the sight. The kitchen staff themselves seem pleased with the student's reaction as they began to make their way out of the hall. The first one that entered stopped by Banner and handed him a piece of paper. "I appreciate the help."

"Don't mention it, we are more than happy to help but that chicken was meant for the other dorms so here's the bill" the chef replied and left, leaving Banner with the paper.

"Huh, it cannot be that expensive. I mean it's just chicken" the dorm head thought and read the note. His jaw dropped immensely as he eyed the cost of the chicken and couldn't breathe. "That much for chicken!? What kind of chicken is it? Golden egg-laying ones!?"

Whilst Banner feared for his wallet, Jaden chowed happily on the chicken. His previous annoyance with Chumley disappeared completely and with Chumley seemingly forgiven, the three enjoyed their meal. Looking to Syrus, the boys' previous actions back at the card shop continued to baffle him but thought it best not to ask about it. He doubts that Syrus would come clean right away, so it is best to wait it out until he comes out with it on his own terms. So, for now, he has chicken to eat.

"By the way, haven't you been in any duels lately?" Chumley asked with another mouthful.

"Unfortunately, no. No, I have not" Jaden pouted in annoyance. "Those two bastards went around telling people that I lost to Jade of sorts" he added, keeping his voice down as he did so.

"Huh, wait by bastards you mean Bratt and Troy" Chumley questioned then his eyes went wide in realisation. "Wait, are you telling me that those two told the whole academy about that duel?" he inquired also, keeping his own voice low in the process.

"Not exactly, they just told the obelisk students. I haven't heard anything from Bastian about this, so the yellow dorm hasn't heard but it does explain why the obelisks have avoided me for over a week. It isn't about me defeating Greg, it's that they think I lost to Jade" Jaden detailed it out for him.

"Say guys" Syrus chimed in and got the two's attention. "Didn't I hear of an incident involving those two?"

Immediately holding back a smirk. Jaden leaned on the table and a grin came to his face.

"Yeah, apparently they poisoned themselves" he partially lied but it got their attention. "Turns out they tried to prank some students with tampered water, but I don't really know how they did it, but it backfired on them hard."

Both became wide-eyed, and Jaden knew that continuing would cause a reaction, so he did it anyway.

"And thanks to laxative water, those two became temporary members of the brown dorm."

And there it was, Syrus and Chumley midst of eating pictured what Jaden said and then their faces turned slightly green as a result. Chumley put down the chicken leg he is eating, and Syrus became still in his seat.

"Dude…" Chumley began and gave Jaden a hard stare. "Not when we are eating!"

As the three sat at their table, with two of them ganging up on Jaden for nearly spoiling their appetite. Peterson sat partially alone at the next table, he didn't talk to anybody, nor did he consider a conversation with anyone but instead listened to what is said around him and just like that he also didn't really care. However, his ears picked up Jaden's earlier conversation about Bratt and Troy concerning a duel with Princeton.

"A duel with Princeton? What is that slacker on about?" he thought. "Did he really duel Princeton? And when did this happen?"

Much later: Dorm second floor: Room 2A

"Ahhhh, that was a good meal" Chumley declared as he rested in his bunk. Patting his big belly in the process. "I am so glad that Banner came through for the dorm."

No one replied to his statement as there was no need to for the others agreed full-heartedly with Jaden laying down in his own bunk full and happy. Syrus however sat at the desk with his back to them and looked at the clock. There are still a few hours until midnight but he couldn't wait that long as the thought of meeting Alexis made his heart race so much it hurt.

"Three hours. Three hours until midnight. Is she thinking about me right now?" he thought. "Oh Alexis, I cannot wait."

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm: Alexis's Room

Alexis sneezed hard, so hard it made her friend jump in surprise at the table. The cards in Mindy's hand were dropped as she was about to play a card.

"Whoa girl, what was that about?" Jasmine asked, placing her own hand down and staring at Alexis with mild curiosity. "That was one hell of a sneeze, was someone talking about you or something?"

"Sorry what?" the blonde asked as she sat down on her bed.

"You know, if you sneeze then it means someone is talking about you" Jasmine explained.

It isn't a notion that Alexis hadn't heard before but it damn sure is highly unlikely if it was caused by someone talking about her then it better be decent.

"Doubt it but if it were the case, whoever is talking about me better be innocent about it!"

An amused 'ha' came out of Jasmine as she found it hilarious at Alexis's view on it. To her, it is a high chance that whoever is talking about Alexis is indeed being dirty about it.

"What do you mean by innocent about it?" Mindy inquired as she picked up her dropped cards.

"Nevermind Mindy, just focus on your hand as its still your turn" Jasmine replied.

Mindy however looked at her hand and gave of a bored sigh. Dropping the cards from her hand onto the table and gave a yawn. Curious about her friend's behaviour, Jasmine tilted her head and looked between the dropped cards and Mindy herself.

"Bored already? Seriously?" Jasmine pointed out and Mindy gave another sigh.

"Sorry but duel monster the old way is boring. Also, we are just cooped in Lexy's room, why don't we do something else like go out or something" Mindy moaned out loud and began pouting in her seat. "Why not go for a soak in the dorm baths?"

With Mindy's attitude starting to annoy her, Jasmine threw her own cards and gave off the most annoying groan she could give off.

"For crying out loud, we are here for a reason and that is so the three of us won't have to hear all that boring girl talk that like goes on forever. The baths will be full of it" she informed her, but Alexis gave it some thought, and the idea of a nice soak did catch her attention.

"Actually girls, the dorm baths will be empty near midnight, and they are always open due to that twenty-four-seven filtration and heating system so we can go then" she revealed and brought both Mindy and Jasmine to a standstill. "We will practically have the whole bath to ourselves."

This news made Mindy's eyes shine and Jasmine give Alexis an 'excuse me look' as the blonde stood up and headed to her on-suite bathroom to grab a few things.

"I'm sorry but how long were you going to avoid telling us that?"

"You never brought it up before so don't blame me" Alexis cried out from the bathroom. She didn't stay in long as she came out with a gown and towels. "You two best get your towels and gowns ready if you fancy a midnight bathe."

Mindy practically jumped out of her seat and headed for the door, eager to get her own bath stuff ready. Jasmine however halted her with a simple arm around the waist grab and held her as if she were a hyperactive child.

"Hold up. So, you are saying we can just get our bathing suits, go to the baths, and stay until five in the morning?"

"Well sort of, the difference is that we won't need bathing suits and the lights will be off as it is expected that no one would be using it that late. Despite the filtration and heating system being twenty-four-seven" Alexis detailed more. "Now let Mindy go otherwise she will turn into a pout-a-geist and get your own stuff together. We will have to wait a bit before we can go anyway."

Mindy, finally free of Jasmine's hold had just reached the door when Alexis had just said that they had to wait and stared at her rather blankly.

"Why?"

"Because if we get seen by Nurse Fontaine, we won't get a late-night bath."

Slifer Red Dorm: Room 2A (11:30)

"Seriously! Again!" Chumley cried out as Jaden activated another trap. "My Des Koala!"

Chumley's cry of despair as he put his monster into the graveyard was just a weird sigh as Jaden sat opposite him on the floor.

"You really are bad at this?" Jaden pointed out.

"Hey, don't judge. I am more of an art guy than a duel guy alright and besides, I can duel. Just not that well."

Jaden couldn't help but laugh at it and Chumley retorted with protest but as they did so, they failed to notice Syrus staring at the desk clock with wide eyes. He had only thirty minutes to get to the girl's dorm to meet Alexis and began to wonder if he should leave early. The anticipation gnawed at him until finally he made up his mind and stood up.

"I will go now," he thought. "I must go now."

Taking a deep breath, Syrus made his way to the door. The anticipation gripped him tightly as he grabbed the handle and prepared to leave.

"Where are you going Sy?"

Syrus froze instantly and a chill of fear ran up his spine as Jaden caught him attempting to leave. It didn't seem an issue but even Jaden was aware of the time.

"It's almost midnight buddy" Jaden continued. "Sure, you want to go out?"

"I need the toilet so I will be back in a minute" Syrus blurted out in reply before Jaden could inquire further. He opened the door and ran out of the room. As the door slammed shut, Jaden and Chumley stared towards the door with blank expressions before turning to face each other.

"Err…. what just happened?" Jaden asked.

"No idea but it sounds like he was holding it in. Could be super desperate to go I guess" Chumley suggested.

Jaden looked back to his hand, but he remained sceptical as Syrus's behaviour all day remained confusing and suspicious.

"I don't know. Maybe I should keep an eye on him."

"You're going to follow him to the crapper? That doesn't sound sleazy at all" Chumley said sarcastically.

"Hell no. I mean he has been acting odd all day. I mean back in P.E when I asked him what we should have since the cat ate the food. He said and I quote 'Hot Date'."

Chumley's eyebrows slowly raised up and a grin emerged on his face.

"Are you telling me that… holy crap Jaden. He isn't acting weird. Syrus is in love."

Jaden blinked a few times before bursting out laughing.

"No way. No offence to the guy but I don't see it possible. Since well the only girls on the island are blue obelisks and I doubt they are interested in boyfriends from a dorm below them, right?"

"Yeah, you're right" Chumley replied but then his expression became serious. "But last year some obelisks did trick some slifers into going over to the girl's dorm via fake love letters. They were expelled straight away and those responsible got away with it even after the fake letters were found."

Jaden blinked again; this time, he didn't laugh but became concerned very quickly.

"Oh shit! You don't think that has happened to Syrus right?"

To Jaden's surprise, Chumley waved him off with a smile.

"I doubt it. The obelisks ain't going to do that again since the disciplinary committee knows the method. He probably got a new card that is of a cute girl and has developed a card crush" Chumley explained. "Who knows, it might be the Dark Magician Girl. He loves that card."

The concept that it is a card crush and not a deceiving fake love letter eased his worry and got back into the game as Chumley placed a card down. Jaden looks at his own hand and relaxes.

"Maybe your right. Anyway, I hope you got something up your sleeve coz I am hoping to see some improvement big guy."

"Shut up."

Forest Path to the Obelisk Blue Girl's Dorm

The moon and stars lit up the night sky allowing the path to be seen in the dark, but Syrus managed to get out of the room with a small pocket torch which was very handy. He ran a brisk pace down the path holding the torch outward. His held the letter in his other hand which he glanced at a few times as he re-read the contents.

"Lake by the dorm" he read and looked forward. "I hope I am not too late."

Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm: Dorm Baths

"Oh my god, this is just bliss" Mindy moaned in pleasure as she relaxed at the bath edge, the water with its perfect temperature soothed her body as she enjoyed the sensation it gave her. Her body relaxed within the water, and she felt she could drift off to sleep in it. To her side sitting on the bath's edge sat Alexis, wrapped in a towel, and enjoying the water's warmth on her legs. True to what Alexis said, the moonlight illuminated the large room, but they decided to turn the lights on a little bit. Turns out they could as the bath lights have a turnable switch instead of the normal flip switch. Mindy glances at the relaxed Alexis and a cheeky grin appears on her face as she sneakily reaches out for Alexis's towel, but the blonde wasn't fooled and easily caught her by simply grabbing her hand.

"Nice try Mindy but you aren't that stealthy" Alexis gloated.

"Oh, haha Lexis. Anyway, why are you still wearing your towel? Are you not getting in?"

"In a bit. I like to relax a bit first" Alexis answered and continued what she is doing. The two then hear someone enter the baths from behind and Mindy looks up only to become wide-eyed.

"Like, oh my god Jasmine. What the heck is with that body of yours?!"

Alexis looks back and sees that Jasmine entered full nude and couldn't help but be surprised at what she saw. She knew that Jasmine always put in the effort of being a strong woman, but she did so outside the political viewpoint of what it meant. Jasmine's body is toned and showing muscle but not too much. But she does have an impressive ab work on her chest despite it all. It didn't ruin her slender feminine figure at all. Jasmine herself blushed in embarrassment as the two girls stared at her and inspected her figure.

"Knock it off you two. It's nothing to stare at" she argued as she took a seat beside Alexis. "I just did some extra crunches at the gym that's all."

"A bit more than crunches I see" Alexis pointed out. "You could win a competition for best body or something. And I don't want to go full duel-nerd but you remind me of the Amazoness Spy card, with a similar look of abs to the sword's woman."

Jasmine cocked an eyebrow at Alexis with a smug smirk on her face.

"I am pretty sure you did just go full duel-nerd there Lex" she commentated before fully slipping into the water. "And speaking of going a bit nerdy there, nice comparison by the way."

"Why is that?" Alexis coyly asked.

"Because Jasmine here uses an Amazoness deck" Mindy revealed, receiving a small glare from Jasmine in the process.

"I was going to tell her that you blabbermouth!"

Alexis couldn't help but giggle and removed the towel from herself. She then slid into the water gracefully and in between the two girls. The water on her skin made her both shudder in pleasure and sigh out in bliss. With her hands, she cupped some of the water and used it to splash her face. After doing so, she closed her eyes and leaned back on the edge.

"Amazoness huh?" she said, not looking at anyone and remaining in a relaxed state. "Funny because I recall that your deck in Harpy Lady."

Jasmine stopped 'comically' glaring at Mindy and faced Alexis.

"Well technically I do, I just use another deck more instead. It isn't a crime you know" she replied, giving off a tough girl pout as she finished her sentence but all it did was make both Alexis and Mindy giggle.

"Damn girl. You are acting like a boy with a hurt ego" Mindy giggled but to her surprise, Jasmine ducked under the water and pulled her down also. Alarming the girl as she did so. Jasmine was the first to reappear before Mindy who choked and gargled out bath water from her mouth. To say Mindy wasn't impressed is putting it lightly. "The fuck Jasmine! You could have drowned me!"

"Well, you are the one who called me a boy Mindy. I have enough of that shit from those gender-identity weirdo's" Jasmine defended herself.

"Okay pack it in you two" Alexis interjected as she moved in between them to prevent an argument. "And what are you talking about anyway?"

"Jasmine attacked one of those gender-identity people a week before the entrance exam" Mindy explained.

"What?!" Alexis gaped and faced Jasmine who held her hands in the air in a 'whoa hold it right there' motion. "Are you serious? You attacked a… what, a non-binary person or something?"

"No, it wasn't like that. I was defending myself" Jasmine replied and moved back to the bath's edge. She is joined by both Alexis and Mindy as they leaned back and waited for her to continue. "As Mindy said, it was a week before the entrance exam, and I was duelling a punk kid at the local skate park."

"Why?" Alexis interrupted. "And what does this have to do with this attack I'm hearing?"

"She's getting to it" Mindy pointed out calmly, allowing Jasmine to take a breath and continue her story.

"This punk kid thought he could try one on me because… well to be honest I did look hot in what I wore" Jasmine continued and began to trail off a bit. This made Alexis roll her eyes, but it made Mindy giggle a bit.

"So, what exactly did you wear?" Mindy asked before Alexis could interject so that Jasmine could get to the point. Jasmine answered.

"Well mainly chic boots, torn at the leg jeans with the top button undone, a sleeveless jacket like our uniforms, and a tank top so my abdomen was for show and a black cap that you see farmers wear" she detailed. "So, you know. badass hot and all that."

"And this leads?" Alexis finally said before Mindy could distract Jasmine with another daft question.

"Huh, oh right well what I wore made this punk kid approach me with his mates and as I said he thought he could try one on me."

Alexis groaned as she face-palmed her face. It seemed that she won't be getting to the point just yet after all so might as well go down the long route.

"I am going to regret asking this but what the heck. What did he mean by trying one on you?"

"Huh, oh he wanted to pound my ass and make my tits dance."

Alexis blinked a few times before gawking in surprise, even Mindy blushed at the prospect of what Jasmine informed them.

"Are you serious? Some kid wanted to do naughty with you?" Mindy asked, her question sounding so innocent and childish that the other two looked at her wondering if she is being funny or is just too daft.

"You mean did a secondary school punk literally say to me with his mates watching that he can screw me" Jasmine detailed out, but it made Alexis double take.

"I'm sorry but are you saying he is a literal kid?"

"Yep, about four years younger. A doubt he was literally serious, bet he was playing the hard kid with his mates and waited to see what my reaction was. You know, cocky and dumb kid stuff."

"So, what did you do" Mindy straight up asked before Alexis could pry further.

"Well, I noticed the kid was wearing a deck holder on his belt and as it turns out, I had my kit in my bag, so I got up, strutted over to them. Got in front of the kid and told him that if he could beat me in a duel, I'll do one thing for him" Jasmine revealed with a devilish grin.

In response to this reveal, Mindy gave a tight shrilly squeal that can only be translated as 'no you did not' while Alexis shook her head disapprovingly.

"Please tell me you didn't!" she demanded but to her frustration, Jasmine nodded.

"It was a bluff, Lex. He tried to make himself look like a bad boy so I put him on the spot and see if he will bite. And funny enough he did bite. He accepted the challenge and what is funny is that he thought he could win."

"Oh god" Alexis sighed and sunk a little deeper into the water. She could now picture the situation in her head as well as the obvious outcome. "You humiliated him outright, didn't you?"

Jasmine nodded triumphantly and Alexis could only feel a small sense of pity for the dumb kid as the thought of being beaten tremendously in front of your friends after showing off an attempted bad boy routine. She couldn't even restrain a small laugh as she pictured it in her head. "Okay you put a dumb punk ass kid in his place but where does the attack come in?"

"Well before anything else could be said. Three guys wearing women's clothing came over. You know… those guys" Jasmine revealed as she continued her explanation. Alexis emitted an 'oh' sound as she realised who Jasmine is talking about. "Well, apparently they have been around trying to get the skate park closed and bulldozered because it was a breeding ground of toxic masculinity."

"Was it?" Mindy interrupted.

"No, it wasn't. They just didn't like it. Anyway, they came over and started targeting the kid with those gender shaming tactics of harassing defenceless women and by being a male he is already a patriarchal oppressor" Jasmine detailed further. "The kid was clearly uncomfortable with the barrage, so I got in the way and told them to stuff it."

"That was nice of you considering that the kid wanted to… you know" Mindy pointed out.

"Like I said he was doing the bad boy routine which I could see through a mile away, but these scumbags were the worst. After I got in the way they started to berate me for defending a misogynist. I argued that he is just a kid but no he must be shamed so I told the leader of them that he can go and shame someone else and to man up so he would stop acting like a judgemental piece of crap."

Alexis began to see exactly what was happening in Jasmine's detail of what happened. And can also spot the trigger that led to the event in question.

"You told one of them to man up, correct?" she asked.

"Yeah, and that's when it started to go hectic if I could put it lightly" Jasmine continued. "The leader then told me to stop using gender-based language because it was offensive and said that I was being a bad example of being a woman for my mannerism and choice of attire."

"And?" Alexis prompted.

"Well, I said that I am a tomboy and what I wear and do things isn't their business. They then gave a lecture that 'tomboy' isn't a thing and that I am gender confused and behaving like a male so therefore I should identify as male and not female" Jasmine continued. "So, I said that I was more female than they are as they are just males pretending to be female and doing so in the worst stereotypical way possible. Then I got slapped in the face."

Mindy gasped in shock as Jasmine simply sighed in annoyance about the incident. Alexis remained still and listened to everything.

"I am not surprised that happened to be fair. I mean that's what happens when you say something people like them are absolutely against to their faces, they lash out" Alexis casually spoke in response. "So that was the attack, you getting slapped in the face?"

"No. The attack was the punch."

Both Mindy and Alexis blinked a few times before leaning closer.

"I'm sorry, punch. What punch?" Alexis asked.

"The punch I used in my retaliation. No way I was going to let that git slap me and treat me like a scumbag, so I punched him hard in the face. I believe I broke his nose also. I mean I must have because I heard the crunch" Jasmine replied as if it was nothing.

"You punched that person in the face?" a dumbfounded Mindy asked.

"Yep, and I don't regret it. The git's friends started to scream in a high pitch shrilly style which was so annoying and ten minutes later the police arrived. Fortunately for me, locals who lived by the skate park saw the whole thing and came to my defence. Heck, even the kid that I beat defended me also while those weirdos were hollering and pounding for me to be arrested for hate crimes" the brunette revealed. "Also, it was recorded by the neighbours so the 'take our word for it we are the real victims' didn't work. I didn't want to press charges because that punch was all I needed to show I was not to be messed with and they buggered off."

Jasmine then stood up and stretched her arms upward as she makes her way out of the pool-sized bath and up the steps.

"They then went to social media, but it didn't last as the recordings of what happened got shown and they got even more pissed about it. Anyway, I am going for a shower before heading back. Anyone else coming?"

Mindy stood up, splashing Alexis in the process, and looked around in confusion.

"What showers?"

Deadpanned, Jasmine pointed to some wall showers on the far wall next to the windows.

"Those showers dummy. Seriously you didn't see them when you came in?"

Outside the Obelisk Blue Girl's Dorm

The night is calm and still with barely the sound of insects making noise in the lake's weeds. The water appeared calm and made of glass until the head of a certain teacher broke the surface. He looked around slowly as if his head were a periscope before removing both the air mask and goggles.

"Ah. I take it back, keeping my cave spelunking gear is one of the best decisions of my life. Provides more options than simply hiding in the trees" Crowler chortled to himself and looked at his waterproof wristwatch. "Now that slacker should be showing up by now, best get the camera ready."

Reaching into a water bag he pulls out both an underwater camera and a snorkel. He then attaches the snorkel to the side of his goggles when he notices a dim but seeable light coming from one of the dorm's ground floor rooms. He pauses and looks at the dorm itself.

"Someone is up? I guess someone is doing a light night study" Crowler thought and continued what he was doing but paused again as he looked at his camera. "Wait a moment. If I use the camera flash on Jaden when he arrives then whoever is in that room will notice, open the window and…" he realised, and his signature grin stretched across his face. "Genius, pure unadulterated genius. Jaden will be caught and expelled, and I can keep the photo as a souvenir."

A rustling is heard from the tree line, startling Crowler for a moment as he ducked under the water with only his eyes remaining above the water line. The silhouette of a figure is emerging from the gloom and Crowler's eyes narrowed as he brought his camera up.

"Right on cue slacker. Now step into the light and bid duel academy, adieu."

The Treeline

Syrus gasped for air as he stopped for a moment for a breather.

"Man. How come I feel more out of shape than… like Chumley?" he wondered and looked up to see the girl's dorm before him. He noticed that there was a light on in part of the building that is right by the lake but is also confusing as part of the dorm is on the lake like a French château. "Is that where you are Alexis? Okay, let's do this!"

Taking a deep breath, he ran towards the dorm where the light is on but unbeknownst to him. He was spotted by someone who wasn't expecting to see him at all.

Speaking of which

Crowler stared with annoyance and confusion as he sees the slifer jacket-wearing intruder approach the dorm. His grip on the camera tightened and a vein emerged on his forehead.

"What in the name of Jesus. H. Christ is he doing here?! Where's Jaden? I definitely put that letter in the right locker!"

Outside the Dorm

Syrus reached the dorm and already he felt anxiety take hold of him as he looked around frantically to take in his surroundings.

"Oh man, I am starting to freak out a bit" he whispered to himself and looked to the lake. "Damn place looks spooky at night. Also, this place is huge, bigger than the red dorm."

He gazed to the nearest window where the dim glow of an indoor light shone out of and made his way towards it.

"Please be there Alexis."

Dorm Baths

"Now this hits the spot" Jasmine commented as the pour from the handheld shower head washed over her body. "Stand-in showers are fine but I do prefer the handled ones better."

Alexis sat beside her and nodded in agreement as she rubbed shampoo into her hair.

"That's true. I tend to be more of a shower person, to be honest" she told her friend. Meanwhile, Mindy was stuck as she held two bottles, a red one, and a green one and she couldn't tell which one is which.

"Say err… which one is the shampoo again?"

"Green one is the shampoo and the red one is the body gel" Alexis replied.

Jasmine grabbed the red bottle on her end and squirted a good bit onto her hand before rubbing it onto her arms and chest. A thought came to her head, and it made her smirk loudly, which ended up catching Alexis's attention.

"Okay you? What's so funny?"

Jasmine finished up covering the front of her body with the gel before looking over and pointing to the red bottle by Alexis.

"I'll tell you if you do my back."

Alexis huffed but did as Jasmine requested as she stood up with the bottle in hand and sat down behind Jasmine.

"So, you going to tell me what is so funny?" Alexis pestered as she poured gel into her hands and then began rubbing it into Jasmine's back.

"Well, you know that most if not all the girls in this dorm hate slifers right" Jasmine began.

"Yeah?"

"And that the body gel bottles are red right."

"Yeah…?"

Jasmine grin got wider as she began to shower off her front.

"Well next time they come in to use the baths. Do you think they'll hate me if I tell them that since the gel bottles are the same colour as the slifer dorm. They are squirting slifer juice onto their bodies?"

Alexis instantly lost her focus and gawked at Jasmine as the brunette laughed her head off in front of her. Mindy wasn't paying attention, so she was plain confused.

"Well?" Jasmine asked mid laughing. "Will the dorm hate me or something?"

"Hate you! They will probably boycott the gel bottle also to get a colour change" Alexis replied with a grin. "Seriously why did you think that of all things?"

"Well, we are in a dorm that dislikes the red dorm after all."

"Just give me that shower head so I can wash your back" Alexis ordered with a grin.

As the two continued to hear the hilarious humour Jasmine had dropped on them both. Mindy continued to stare confused at the two as they continued their giggling.

"Seriously. Did I like miss something here?"

Outside

Syrus stood near the window and tried to look in but the mid-to-bottom glass panels of the window were obscure and difficult to see through.

"Why would the glass be like that? Is this room a…" he wondered but stopped when he heard a noise from inside and recognised a voice. "Wait that's Alexis. She is here but why isn't she outside like she said in her letter? Maybe I should…"

And without a second thought, he gently tapped on the window.

Inside

"No, I am serious what is so funny?" Mindy demanded from both Alexis and Jasmine but the two continued to giggle when they began to hear something at the window. A soft tapping noise caught all of their attention. "What's that?"

"No idea, it sounds like a bird" Alexis replied as the tapping continued. "Just ignore it and it will fly off."

However, the tapping didn't stop and continued further, and it also began to annoy one brunette.

"Okay that's it. I don't care it's a bird I am going to scare it off" Jasmine huffed in frustration and stood up.

"How are you going to do that? Punch the glass?" Mindy asked stupidly as Alexis returned to her own shower area.

"No, you ninny. Those windows can be opened like a door, so I am going to open it and scare it off" Jasmine replied and approached the window. "Show this bird how to tap the glass."

As soon as she reached the window, she then noticed some odd through the glass. Obscure as it was, she could make out a large moving thing on the other side of the window as it tapped on the glass again. At first, she thought the bird was a bit larger so either a gull, owl, or hawk but she then noticed a fuzzy focus of red. A large red bird was tapping on the window, but she then realised that cannot be the case.

"Wait a fucking tick, is that…" she muttered loudly and with no hesitation, she grabbed the handles and opened the windows wide. Nothing was said as she felt the night air touch embrace her fully, but her gaze was on a still and stunned Syrus Truesdale who backed away slightly when the windows were opened. Jasmine could only look at Syrus who was turning red fast as he realised that there is a girl in full nude in front of him. A second later, his expression relaxed as he went dizzy and fainted on the floor as the sight was too much for him to take. The collapsing forced Jasmine out of her own stunned reaction and lean out of the window to see the boy passed out on the ground outside. She sharply retreated away from the window and stared towards the outside. Alexis who watched her open the window sat quietly and saw the look on her friend's face. She realised something was very wrong.

"Hey what's wrong?" she inquired, standing up as she did so and her tone serious.

"You know that kid that got humiliated by Crowler in that lesson? The one with the glasses is from the red dorm" Jasmine spoke, still staring through the window.

"Yes?!"

"He just fainted outside."

"What?!"

Alexis instantly grabbed a nearby towel and covered herself as she ran to the window and looked outside and true to Jasmine's word, there is a passed-out Syrus outside the bath windows. Emotions of shock, confusion, anger, and disbelief rampaged through her mind as she leaned back inside and turned to Jasmine.

"What the actual fuck is he doing here?! I mean why? Why the fuck is he outside our dorm?!"

"I don't know. I don't even know why he was tapping on the window!" Jasmine retorted. Mindy surprised by what was happening came over and looked out the winder herself, whilst using her hands to cover herself. Looking out she sees the fainted kid.

"Ew god, what a stalker. Someone get Nurse Fontaine or someone. This kid clearly was trying to get a sneak peek at us!

"Doubt it. If he was trying to get a sneak peek on us, then why did he tap on the window?" Jasmine interjected to Mindy, but it did make Alexis pause in her track. Why did he tap on the window and is it related to why he was here in the first place? Looking back to the window, a plan formed in her mind about the situation, but they need to act fast.

"Okay both of you shut up and listen. Mindy, I need you to go back to our rooms quietly and get our stuff. Do not and I mean it, do not get Nurse Fontiane because I think I know what is going on and I don't like it" Alexis instructed to Mindy.

"Why? Why not get Fontaine and be done with it?" Mindy complained.

"Because we three are not meant to be down here at all Mindy so we will also get in trouble" Jasmine pointed out. "What kind of boy wants to go out with a bad girl" she added for extra effect as she knew it would convince Mindy more quickly.

"Fine, fine. I'll get our stuff" Mindy groaned and headed to the bath exit where her bathrobe waited.

As she left, Jasmine notices that Alexis is climbing out the window with only a towel. This surprised her but she re-joined her at the window as Alexis knelt beside Syrus.

"What are you doing by the way?"

"Help me get him in" Alexis told her as she pulled Syrus by the leg closer to the window, his small and light frame made it easy.

"I'm sorry but you want to bring a boy into the dorm baths at night?" Jasmine inquired and gave Alexis a huge grin. "Who are you and what have you done with Lexi?"

"Jasmine!"

"Alright, alright. Grab his shoulders and push him up so I can lift him over."

The Weeds

Despite being an egocentric, dorm supremacist. Crowler ensured his responsibility of a lecturer is more than adequate as when the windows opened to reveal the nude Jasmine in full view. His instinct ensured that he covered his eyes quickly with barely a gap so that he can still see what was going on and he saw it all in a blurry sense. Syrus fainting, Alexis in towel looking out and from what he can hear from his hiding place. The girls are putting a plan together concerning Syrus. Nothing was going to plan.

"Goddamn it. Didn't realise that room was the dorm baths and now that runt is getting pushed into the baths itself. Seriously where is the slacker?" Crowler pondered as he saw from the corner of his eye that Alexis has climbed back in, and the windows are closed behind her. Emerging slowly from the lake side, he sat down and gave out a sigh of frustrated contempt. "What is happening right now?"

Slifer Red Dorm: Room 2A

"And I win again" Jaden announced as Chumley collapsed backwards and gave of a large groan of defeat.

"Damn you really know how to pull out of a sticky situation. I am pretty sure that a few games I had on the ropes, especially when I prevented you from fusion summoning" Chumley declared loudly as he composed himself and collected his cards.

"Oh, you did buddy. I just managed to pull through regardless" Jaden replied with a cheesy grin. Picking up his cards back into his deck he gave a yarn, prompting to look at his PDA for the time. "Man, it's just gone after midnight. Best call it a day."

Jaden stands up and gives off a stretch before looking to the bunk, Chumley on the top bunk, him on the bottom and Sy in the middle like every night.

"Hold on a sec. Did Sy come back from his toilet run?"

Chumley stood up and paused when Jaden asked him if Syrus came back. He looked around to see if Syrus was back with them, but he wasn't even present.

"I didn't notice he didn't come back. Is he still outside?"

"No idea" Jaden replied and looks to the door. "I'm gonna check outside and see where he is at."

"Alright" Chumley answered back as Jaden made his way out. The big guy placed his deck back into its holder and picked up the duel matts they used from off the floor and folded them up. He glances to the door and takes a moment to think about Syrus's absence and glanced to the wall separating their room from the next. "I wonder maybe he is with the others."

Outside the Red Dorm

Sliding down the outside stair banister, Jaden landed on the ground with ease, but he looks down judgingly. "Yeah, the landing could be better."

Taking out his PDA, he heads to the outside toilet hut and turns the torch setting on. There was no noise at all coming from the hut and there was barely a light on from the dorm. It began to unnerve him slightly as he continued walking.

"Sy?" he calls to the hut as he got closer. "You still in there buddy. Hello?"

No reply was given, and it only made him hurry inside the hut to see if something had happened. Looking inside, he looked high and low with torch light in hand but couldn't see anything wrong except for the fact that it was empty and from the smell. It hasn't been used recently.

"Sy?" he called one more time but found nothing. He heads back out and looks around in case he overlooked Syrus somewhere in the area, but he found that he was the only person outside the dorm. "Okay this doesn't look good."

Obelisk Blue Girl's Dorm: Baths

Mindy watched the still fainted boy, now tied, and gagged beside the window. As much as she didn't like not telling Fontaine about a peeping tom, she hated the thought of not being datable even more.

"He hasn't woken up yet" she said over her shoulder where two others are getting dressed. "If I had to guess, I think you knocked him out."

"Yeah, but I didn't need to punch him" Jasmine mumbled. "All I had to do was open a damn window. Couldn't you have brought it all quicker Min? I was starting freeze my ass off."

"I had to get dressed first. There was no way I was carrying the stuff with only a bath robe on."

Groaning in annoyance, Alexis put on her jacker but didn't bother to fasten it up and left Jasmine to join with Mindy and Syrus. Her eyes always remained focus on the small slifer as she did.

"We need to wake him up regardless because I want to know why he is here to begin with" she told them both. "Anyone have a container with them?"

"There are some small cups beside the showers" Jasmine replied from behind.

"Good, fill it up with cold water and I mean cold."

After putting on her boots, Jasmine did just that as she turned the shower head on and turned the dial into the blue. Cold water gushed out and to avoid getting wet, Jasmine put one of the cups down on the floor and held the shower head above. The water filling the cup but making a splash as the water scattered around as it filled. It didn't take long for it to be filled and once turning the water off, Jasmine brought the cup to Alexis who then gestured to Syrus.

"Splash the water on his face. That'll wake him."

"Okey dokie" Jasmine spoke and with one swift motion she splashed the water onto Syrus's face. It rewarded the girls the immediate effect of a cry of shock as Syrus woke up, his eyes wide form surprise and he looked around for a moment before realising two things. First, he is bound and gagged. Second, there are three rather pissed off girls standing in front of him. It made him cower in response as he saw each of their expressions, especially from Alexis. "Glad to see your awake kid. Now time for you to start talking" Jasmine stated to him.

Syrus began to spill everything he knows, the letter from Alexis, why he was outside the window along with why was Alexis like this? Why is she looking at him like that when she was the one who invited him. There was only one problem with Syrus spilling the beans about the situation. And it was obvious.

"I am starting to think gagging him is not exactly the best idea" Mindy pointed out as the girls couldn't make hair or tales about what Syrus is gag-talking about. "Why did you gag him anyway?"

"It seemed a good idea at the time" Jasmine defended herself.

"Both of you be quiet!" Alexis interrupted, silencing them both. She knelt until she was eye level with him. "Syrus, you have no idea on how disappointed I am but also taken back that you would do something so immature as to sneak onto the girl's dorm grounds in the middle of the night."

Syrus kept quiet but the confusion became evident in his eyes and Alexis saw it clearly which in turn made her curious even more and see that there was more to this.

"Why did you do it?" she asked only once and for a moment Syrus did nothing but then he glanced down to his jacket pocket. Alexis following his glance reaches out and searches his pockets until she grasped paper. She pulled it out and in the dim light, she began to read.

"…the moment I set eyes on you. I instantly fell in love… oh this is not okay!" she read and exclaimed. Both Mindy and Jasmine watched as Alexis stood up. "Someone sent Syrus here a fake love letter."

This surprised both Jasmine and Mindy but at the same time, it hit Syrus hard when he heard Alexis say 'fake'. He dropped his head in sadness and self-disappointment as he came to realise that he fell to one cruel hoax. One that could have gotten him in serious trouble.

"What do you mean?" Jasmine asked as Alexis handed the letter to Mindy.

"During trial year some slifers got caught in the dorms grounds at night and were instantly expelled" Alexis explained. "Turns out later it was found that they were given fake love letters that gave them instructions on where to meet but instead of meeting who they were expecting they ended up meeting with the disciplinary committee."

"That really sucks" Jasmine pointed out.

"Yeah. It is one of the worst things that happened last year" Alexis added.

A cough from Mindy gained Alexis's attention and the blonde looked to her as she held out the letter.

"I think it got worse" Mindy stated. "Look and see who apparently the sender is."

With mild curiosity, Alexis retrieves the letter and reads the bottom and as she did, she gave the very expression of heads will roll and this isn't an exaggeration.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" she announced calmly at first. "Are you fucking, fucking kidding me?!" she then said more angrily. "These pigs use my name for their twisted prank… and they didn't even spell my name right. Tch, fuckers!"

"That's not all actually" Mindy included before kneeling to avoid angry eye level and focused on Syrus. "Say kid, did you read who the letter was for, or did you assume it was for you?"

Syrus gave Mindy a confused expression which suited well for an answer.

"You didn't read it didn't you?" Mindy asked again and Syrus gave a small nod.

"Oh, this is just great" Alexis suddenly spoke as she looked at the top of the letter while Mindy ungagged Syrus. Taking a deep breath, he somewhat relaxed and though he is happy to be no longer gagged. He did wish also to no longer be tied up soon. Taking a risk, he looked up at Alexis as she continued to stare at the letter.

"Er, should I ask about the letter?" he asked.

Jasmine gave him a look of 'shut it' but Alexis turned the letter around and bought it level with his eyes so he can see what is on it.

"The letter is for Jaden" Alexis revealed and Syrus now reading the top of the letter for the first time felt his heart drop.

"What?" he could only say as he sees Jaden's name on the letter. "How did… but it was in my locker."

"You sure it was your locker and not Jaden's?"

"Yeah" said Syrus. "Though he does have the habit of putting his stuff in my locker to be honest."

Alexis said nothing but both Jasmine and Mindy sighed in a 'seriously?' sort of way.

"I guess then they mistook your locker for Jaden's then" Alexis informed him and turned her attention back to the letter. The whole thing just irritated her and wondered why someone would do this. As if she was reading her mind, Mindy spoke up.

"You think this has anything to do with the class with Crowler? You know where he made fun of the doctor in front of class" Mindy asked them, and it made Alexis's thoughts tick as she can see the connection.

"You might be right, but the question is who in the class did it" Alexis replied but then all three heard Syrus try to stand up. All three sprang to action and grabbed Syrus as he almost stumbled backwards and that would mean falling into the baths. "Whoa easy there Sy! Let us untie you first."

"Sorry" Syrus replied meekly and waited as Jasmine untied him. "I best hand myself in then."

Alexis did a double back and looked at the boy wide-eyed.

"Why? This isn't your fault at all and if you do that, you will no doubt be expelled."

"Yeah kid" Jasmine joined in. "And all did was faint when you saw my… never mind that. Besides, being out late at night at the dorm is a first time right so…" she continued, but Syrus unfortunately only heard half of it.

"Actually, it's a second time" he simply said, and the silence fell on the group. Before he could continue, Jasmine sharply turned him around and glared into his face.

"The fuck kid! This is your second time here late at night?"

Syrus hearing the tone in her voice realised his mistake and shook his head in disagreement.

"No! no, no, no! I mean it's my second time up late at night where I shouldn't be. The last time was when Jade Princeton challenged Jaden to a late-night duel in the academy. Me, her, Alexis, Chumley, Jaden, and three others were almost caught!"

Another silence fell on them, and Syrus began to feel very anxious as Jasmine maintained her glare, but it then softened as she looked up, raised eyebrow and a coy smirk on her face.

"Did I hear right? You were almost caught at a late-night duel?"

Alexis stood still as she felt both Jasmine and Mindy look at her with 'demanding to know the facts' expressions. Syrus realising that he made another mistake and this time it is that he dropped the ball about Alexis, turns to her with a major apologetic face. Sighing in defeat as she can see no way out and that the two will hound her about it, might as well just tell them.

"Well, it went down like this."

One explanation later

"Holy heck! He really beat the third top duellist of the academy?"

"No Jasmine, he nearly beat the third top duellist of the academy. The duel ended undecided because two blue dolts made noise and alerted a committee patrol" Alexis corrected her. "He was close there was no denying it."

"Wait so does that mean that he can beat you since you're the second top duellist?" Mindy inquired.

Alexis didn't know how to answer that question, but it did make her wonder what would happen if they did duel. As she did, she failed to notice a scheming look appearing on Mindy's face as she took her PDA out of her pocket.

"Well not to sound prideful but I doubt it as I am quite confident in my skills and since I have a grasp on his playstyle then I can easily counter it and… what are you doing?"

Alexis from the corner of her eye noticed Mindy doing something with her PDA. Jasmine noticed too along with Syrus as Mindy continued what she is doing.

"Now to activate the voice changer app with the call and we will be good to go" Mindy said to no one in particular.

"I'm sorry but we will be good to go for what exactly?" Jasmine asked but Mindy hushed her.

"Quiet it's ringing. Good thing his details are not hard to find."

Slifer Red Dorm

"Syrus! Where are you?!" Jaden called out as he searched the back of the dorm but found no sign of him once more and the worry began to grow further.

"Keep it quiet!" a voice from behind said to him and Jaden turns to see Chumley join him with a torch in hand. "You will wake the dorm and that can be a problem, especially if Banner wakes up too."

"Sorry Chumley. It's just that I cannot find him anywhere and it's late!"

Worry is also evident on Chumley as he shone the torch in every direction himself.

"Did you check the shower area also?"

"Yeah, I did. Empty save for a damn rat" Jaden replied. "I should have realised something was up when he left. He was acting weird all day."

The two said nothing after that as they made their way back to the front of the dorm, Jaden is thinking back on the stuff he did with Syrus during the day and the times of his strange antics. Chumley however was thinking with what he knows at most and could only come up with a blank. Sad thing is, Jaden is also coming up blank also.

"Well, I got nothing. Maybe he just went to be alone or something and will be back later" Chumley suggested.

"I got nothing too but with what you said, if he did go somewhere to be alone for a moment. Shouldn't he be back anyway?"

Before either of them could say anything else, Jaden's PDA started going off in his hand. Surprised, he looked to see who was contacting him and hoping it was Syrus but he then noticed that it wasn't but from…

"Mindy? Why is Mindy contacting me? And how does she have my contact info?" Jaden spoke before realising something. "Come to think of it, I never found out how Jade knew my contact info. I forgot to ask."

"Wait? You don't know about the dorm contact search function?" Chumley asked him.

"The dorm what now?" Jaden replied but then the PDA went off again. "Crap I should answer this."

Bringing the PDA close, he tapped on the answer function.

"Hel…"

"Jaden Yuki!"

Jaden paused as he was cut off before he could say anything but what surprised him further was that the voice sounded deep and contorted as if someone was using a voice changer.

"Err…yeah?"

"Listen up. We have your little friend with us. If you don't want to see him expelled, then come to the obelisk blue girl's dorm. And bring your deck. Don't dawdle."

The call instantly cut off leaving both Chumley and Jaden stunned. The message was clear but at the same time crazy.

"They have Syrus? Why does Mindy have Syrus and who exactly is 'They'?" he asked Chumley, but he was just as confused as Jaden. "I need to get my deck."

"Oh no, not again!" Chumley declared as Jaden headed for the stairs. "Do you remember last time you got into a duel out of bounds. We almost got caught by night guards."

Jaden stopped halfway and turns to face him.

"I know but they have Syrus, Chumley. And if I don't go, he will get expelled coz according to Mindy's message. He is at the girl's dorm, and I am pretty sure at this time of night that is a big issue."

Chumley on his part only could agree with Jaden's reason as unlike last week, their hands are tied. Well specifically Jaden's hands are tied, and he had no choice but to follow through with the demand.

"There are two things that bother me though" Jaden then said.

"What's that?" Chumley replied.

"First, why was Syrus at the girl's dorm and second, why did Mindy use a voice changer?"

Obelisk Blue Girl's Dorm: Baths

"There we go" Mindy declared and put her PDA away. "So, who is going to duel him?"

Three expressions awaited her. The first from Syrus who just stared at he in surprise. Second from Jasmine who was both impressed and humoured. The third came from Alexis and she was not impressed at all.

"Mindy, what exactly is going on in your mind right now?" Alexis asked but as Mindy was about to explain. She understandably interrupted her. "Have you lost your fucking mind! You just told Jaden to come to the girl's dorm at this hour with his deck. And after I told you what happened last week!" Alexis blared out angrily as Mindy was rooted to the spot. "What exactly are you doing?!"

"Yeah Mind" Jasmine joined in. "I think I get what you're trying to do but to do it here of all places. I am pretty sure a duel will wake everybody who is asleep."

"It won't. The entire building is soundproof for comfort" Alexis informed her then realised a mistake there. "Shit I shouldn't have said that."

"So, you're saying we can duel outside, and no one will hear it?" Mindy inquired and Alexis is really regretting her blunder.

"Yes, but they will notice from all the lights that will shine through the windows and curtains as result of such a duel" Alexis pointed out, hoping that it will settle the argument.

"So, we duel him further away than" Jasmine pointed out, much to Alexis's chagrin.

"Seriously you too?" she moaned but it was clear that there was no way out of it. "Fine let's have a late-night duel. Its not like we can get expelled from it. Oh, wait we can" she added sarcastically.

"Oh boy" Syrus muttered in response. "Don't mean to add to the fire here but if this is really happening then who is the one doing the duelling?"

"Are you stupid or something" Mindy informed him. "Jaden will be doing the duelling, stupid."

"By himself?" Syrus pointed out.

Both Jasmine and Alexis couldn't help but giggle slightly as Mindy realised slowly her error.

"Oh, no that is stupid. Well then who is it going to be then" she then said. "Alexis? Jasmine?"

The two mentioned girls looked to each other and then back to Mindy.

"And what makes you think that is going to happen?" Alexis asked and to her surprise. Mindy pulled out two decks out of nowhere.

"Because I brought both yours and Jasmine's decks, so it has to be one of you" the girl replied, much to the utter shock of the two.

"What?! Why do you have our decks?" Jasmine demanded and Mindy looked at her as if she was being daft.

"Well, I was told to get our stuff, so I brought them" she replied. "I also brought a duel disk. Is that a problem?"

"That wasn't what we meant! You were supposed to get our clothes, not our decks!" Both Alexis and Jasmine cried out at once, forcing Mindy to sweat drop a bit. However, the damage was already done and since Mindy has brought their decks along as well as telling Jaden to bring his own. It was clear that a duel is in fact inevitable.

"Fuck it. Cannot believe I am saying this but there is a way to conduct the duel out of sight of the dorm and is not too far" Alexis told them reluctantly.

"Really? Where?" Mindy asked.

"On the lake" Alexis replied.

The reveal wasn't expected at all, not even to Syrus.

"Are you telling us that one of us if going to duel will skinny-dipping or something" Jasmine inquired.

"We have boats" Alexis informed her quickly. "At it is also behind some high raise banks so most of the dorm windows are obscure from sight. So, let's get there quickly before I change my mind on this."

"So that means your duelling Jaden then?" Jasmine pointed out.

"What? No, when did we decide that…" Alexis began but was suddenly interrupted by Mindy who said.

"Duelling Jaden Yuki, three, two, one. Not it!"

"Not it!" Jasmine quickly cried out, alarming Alexis as she all too realised what just happened.

"Really, we haven't done that thing since we were kids" she complained as Jasmine just stuck her tongue out in response. "Fine, I'll duel him. At least this way I can face his playstyle for myself."

"Great!" Mindy declared. "Now let's get out the doors and to the boats then. Any more questions before we do?"

"I have one" Syrus announced, and all three girls looked at him. "Why did you use a voice changer anyway?"

"Are you serious? It's so that he doesn't know I am the one who made the call stupid" Mindy told him, but Alexis then stood in between them.

"Actually Mindy, you're the stupid one. Your profile is automatically revealed when you contact someone, so Jaden knows it was you who called."

Mindy blinked a few times and tilted her head to the side.

"What?"

Forest Path

Time is everything and that is exactly what went through Jaden's mind as he sprinted down the forest path to the girl's dorm, at least he hopes it is the path as the signs are vague on which blue dorm is which. His duel disk is prepped and fastened on tight and his deck is ready in the pouch. Despite his eagerness to not waste time, he couldn't help but try and fit the pieces of the puzzle that is the current events. He still hasn't figured out why Syrus was at the dorm to begin with, and he went through a few possible reasons in his head from being invited to being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Still, he believed he will get answers soon and he sure hoped that he does.

"You are feeling uneasy about this aren't you?"

Jaden turns his head to see Yubel fly beside him with Kuriboh in two. The small duel spirit's wings flapped madly while Yubel's own wings just stretched out as if she were gliding.

"I won't lie but yeah I do feel a bit uneasy" Jaden replied. "Also, you don't need to mind-talk me right now. We are the only ones here."

"Fair enough" she spoke and began to sound normal. "So, we going to have another illegal duel outside the allotted hour again?"

"Yep, seems like it."

"And we are going straight in again, yes?" Yubel added.

"I am. I want you two back at the dorm."

Both spirits instantly moved ahead of him and forced him to stop. Making a skid mark as he did, he looks to both spirits and knew what's up.

"Let me guess. You both don't like that idea."

Kuriboh chirped a 'You got that right!' noise and Yubel shook her head.

"And what exactly makes you think that I am going to do that?"

"Because I need someone to watch other the dorm in case someone knows that Syrus and I are missing" Jaden sighed. "Also, I need you two to start working together so that's why both of you are going back."

The two duel spirits both at the same time gave groans and moans of disapproval and reluctance but Jaden was having none of it and pressed further with it.

"You better do so or otherwise I will leave you both out of any duels I end up facing in the future" he informed them. "That goes for you too Yubel" he added for good measure.

Yubel gasped in absolute shock and began to pout hard with hands on hips.

"That is cruel Jaden, and may I point out that since we started. You never put me into a duel once" she complained. "I want to be in a duel!"

It completely humoured Jaden that despite Yubel's appearance as a grown woman, she acts like a damn child at times.

"Please do this for me and I promise that the next duel I am in. You will be involved."

The duel spirit crossed her arms and continued her pouting face.

"Promise?"

"Promise" Jaden answered. "Same for you Kuriboh and don't worry, I won't get caught."

Both spirits looked to each over in response as Jaden hoped this would convince them to head back while he handles this alone. Seeing the two relax only confirmed it.

"Fine" Yubel spoke quietly as Kuriboh chirped 'Very well' before both disappeared.

Glad to see it resolved, Jaden broke back into a sprint and hoped the little interval did not make him lose time.

"One last thing Jaden" Yubel's voice suddenly echoed in his mind. "You better not lose otherwise I may have to punish you somewhat."

The warning made him gulp hard.

"I hope she is joking!"

The Lake's Edge

It seemed that one thing led to another, and it still made Crowler confused. First, he tried to sneak closer to the window to overhear what is said inside but it was shut tight so he could only hear muffled voices. Then he heard the doors open from further ahead so he hurried over to the front of the dorm as quick as his scuba gear can let him and he sees Alexis, Jasmine, Mindy, and Syrus sneak out the dorm and head towards the lake's pier. It only made his suspicion on what is going on grew so he returned to the lake and swam as close as he can within the overgrowth to not be noticed. The four were quiet during the whole situation and that just didn't help at all.

"I wish someone would say something. It is baffling right know and this lake isn't getting any warmer" he thought and continued to observe. He then noticed the one called Jasmine began to prep two of the dorms rowing boats which only increased the mystery. "Are they serious in going for a late-night boating activity?"

"Okay so how many is it per boat?" he then hears Jasmine ask the group.

"Three per boat so you, me, and Mindy in one and Syrus is in the other with Jaden once he arrives" Alexis replies and Crowler blinked in surprise.

"Jaden? He is coming?" he wondered, and the truth began to sink in. "Wait a moment, did they invite him over?" he concluded but as he thought about it. He realised that there is something on Alexis's arm forcing him to squint to see what it is and when he did so, his eyes went wide. "Is Alexis wearing a duel disk? Why is she wearing a duel disk in the middle of the night, I mean what purpose is she… ooooh!" he thought and realised what is happening straight after. "Is she going to duel Jaden at this time of night…on a boat?"

The answers were hitting him fast to the point he retreated a moment but kept the group in sight. He rubbed his chin and pondered further.

"There is no doubt about it, Alexis is going to face Jaden in a duel. An out of bounds duel I might add. Although, this may still be in my favour. I can witness Jaden get defeated by a proper obelisk student and once it is over and those girls are out of the way. I can snip a photo of both the slacker and the pipsqueak within the dorms grounds and get both expelled" he realised much to his delight. "Vellian old boy, your night is starting to turn."

He glances back to them and to his horror he sees that one of them, Mindy, is pointing in his direction. At first, he thought he was discovered but he realises that she wasn't pointing at him but towards something behind him. Looking towards said direction, he sees a familiar student in red emerge from the forest.

"Well about time you arrived!"

Forest Path Exit

"Ha. Made it" Jaden said to himself as he exits the forest and sees the obelisk blue girl's dorm for the first time. "Are you kidding me that dorm looks like a castle!"

From his position he can see at least two sides of the dorm and in comparison, to his dorm. It was a palace in contrast to the one room styled flat that is the slifer dorm.

"If this is the girl's dorm then what the heck does the boys dorm look like?" he wondered and gazed over the sight until he spots something peculiar by the lake. Moving to the side to get a better view he sees that someone is waving at him. "That must be them."

Seeing that he isn't late at all. He headed over in a calm yet brisk walk as there was no need to rush and in doing so, he can take in the dorm. Three stories tall with what looks like an addition floor within the roof area and despite the night he could make out the blue and white colours of the building, white walls and a blue roof. He wondered why not add a massive statue of Obelisk the Tormentor at the front of the dorm to go with it. In face as he reached the front of the dorm, he half expected one to be there, but it seems that even Kaiba is not that vain, unless its his dragon. Taking his attention of the dorm, he looks to the four by the lake on what looks like a stone pier and as he approached them, he sees who is there and he wasn't even surprised considering it was Mindy who sent him the call.

"Hello ladies" he said to them. "Lovely night, isn't it?"

The three girls couldn't help but give him a smile from each of them as despite the situation, Jaden is being quite polite about it.

"I suppose it is a nice night" Alexis remarked.

"It is but before we get down to it. I pretty much have two questions to ask. First one is more important" Jaden then informed them and turns to Syrus. "Sy, you got to tell me why are you here? I mean why are you at the girl's dorm in the middle of the night?"

"Because I am a dumb idiot" Syrus replied sadly. "A worthless one at that since apparently I am not even worth the trouble."

"Syrus!" Alexis cried out.

"You really should stop putting yourself down like that" Jasmine intervened. "It's not like you're the only one who got fooled by a fake letter."

"I'm sorry but I think I am out of the loop here" Jaden said to them as he was unsure what is going on.

"Your little friend here got fooled by a fake love letter" Mindy replied instantly.

"Fake…love letter?" Jaden questioned slowly before recalling what Chumley told him. "You mean like what happened last year?"

"You know about it" Syrus asked in surprise.

"Yeah, Chumley told me after you left" Jaden replied. "But I don't understand by what you said earlier. If you were given a fake letter, why do you think that you were not worth the effort?"

"Because it was intended for someone else" Alexis answered, and Mindy took the letter from her pocket and handed it to Jaden. Intrigued a little, Jaden accepted it and started to read the contents. The very start pretty much answered what Alexis meant by intended someone else.

"Oh, its for me" he said and continued reading the rest. "From the day I… blah, blah, blah…fell in love, more blah, blah, blah. Instructions to meet just as Chumley detailed. Hold on a sec, whoever wrote this made it look like you sent it?" Jaden pointed out to Alexis who nodded in reply.

"Yeah, they did" she said in an angry tone.

"Pretty badly also, they got your last name wrong" Jaden added.

Back with the group

Jaden hands the letter back to Mindy and looks to Syrus who was still looking down.

"Hey you okay. I won't lie and say I understand what you're feeling right now from being tricked and all but try and take this as a lesson" he told Syrus. "Also, if something like this happens again, do tell me so that I can tell if its real or not."

"Okay" Syrus replied, it was quiet, but Jaden could tell that Syrus was happy in a way.

"Speaking of what happened. How did you get caught?" Jaden asked him. "You got caught at the door?"

When Jaden asked Syrus how he was found, the kid remembered how exactly it happened and as a result he gulped hard and once more went red in the face for the second time of the night.

"Not exactly" he replied. "It was a window."

"A window?" Jaden could only say but nothing further as Alexis stepped forward, interrupting, and therefore preventing any further talk on the subject.

"I don't want to be rude, but you finished your questions Jaden?" she asked but he shook his head.

"Actually, my next question was why did Mindy use a voice changer when she called me earlier" he told Alexis and Mindy groaned in response.

"Forget about that please" she snapped, causing Jasmine to giggle.

"Okay…" Jaden muttered and returned to Alexis, noticing the duel disk on her arm. "So, there really is going to be a duel. And you're my opponent?"

"That's right" she replied. "Are you ready to duel?"

"You can bet your life on it!" I'll never pass it up ever" Jaden said with a massive grin.

"I thought so" she said. "There is no saying no from you is there?"

Jaden took notice of her posture and expression and started to piece together something in his head. He looks over to Mindy and Jasmine and rubbed his cheek. The three obelisks noticed his antics and in response they were each puzzled by his movements. It didn't occur to them that he was in a way evaluating each of them in a sense.

"Let me guess, it was their idea and not yours" he asked, much to their surprise.

"Technically it was her" Jasmine pointed out and in doing so, pointed to Mindy. "She made that call, and we didn't know what was happening until before she hung up on you."

"Why did she do it then? Why did she make the call to get me here with my deck?"

"Because Jaden…" Alexis joined back in. "She and Jasmine just earlier found out about my minor involvement in your duel against Jade a week back."

"I'm sorry, duel with who again!"

Back with the group again

"Oh" Jaden let out and did a slow nod yet also something about it struck him as odd. "Wait so they didn't hear it first from those two idiots?"

"What idiots?" Jasmine asks.

"Those two who follow Jade around. I heard from Sadie that those two have been telling students I lost to Jade, hence why I didn't get any challenges from anyone."

Not the worst news she has heard but it certainly wasn't the best as Alexis saw the implications if it reached the ears of either the academic staff or the disciplinary committee.

"Those two are such a pain in the ass. I hope no one takes them seriously otherwise it may become a problem" she muttered.

"I think we will be fine as I don't know if you heard. Those two had an accident shall we say" Jaden informed her, and it made her grin a bit.

"Oh, I heard about that" she told him. "Talk about karma."

"Yeah" Jaden replied and part of him though at first didn't want to take credit despite he unwittingly got Yubel to get them spiked. He had to take some credit as it did save two people from being pranked terribly. "Before we get to the fun stuff, I have to ask one thing?"

"And what's that" Mindy intervened before Alexis could answer.

"Why a duel? I mean I would never say no or anything, but it feels like there's a catch involved" Jaden pointed out and this got the group minus Mindy siding with him.

"He has a point. So, what gives with the duel?" Jasmine asks and to their surprise, Mindy gives off a diabolical grin which also stuns them cold. "And what's with that grin?"

"Well, it's because we girls are going to have payback" Mindy announced, making them all blink a few times. "Since this guy saw Jasmine in the nude…." she continued and pointed towards Syrus, alarming Jaden in the process.

"Wait hold up! You did what?" he asked Syrus but never got an answer as Mindy continued.

"…it's only fair that we get something out of it. So, if Jaden loses the duel, he must go back without his stuff and by that, I mean clothes" she finished off.

A couple moments of silence has fallen on them as all eyes fell on Jaden who just blinked. His mind counted down like a time bomb as the terms are processed in his mind and at zero…

"Huh? You want me to do what if I lose?" Jaden gawked in absolute shock. "What kind of terms is that? Also, that's if I lose, what happens if I win?"

"Meh, never considered that since I doubt, you'll win anyway" Mindy replied and heads down the pier steps. "C'mon, we are wasting time so let's get this over with."

Both Jasmine and Alexis watched Mindy, unsure where she got that devious streak from as Mindy is more of the innocent yet clumsy type of girl. So, this surprised them reasonably. Jaden watches her go as well and it is then he noticed two boats were prepped and appear to be ready to be used. At first it confused him and wondered why the boats are there anyway. Then he looks back to the group and remembers that they are all at a pier.

"Are those boats related to the duel by any chance?"

"Yep, they are" Jasmine answered him. "According to Lexy here, there are the only means to get to the place where we won't be noticed or heard."

"In the middle of an open lake?" Jaden spoke in surprise and turns to Alexis. "You serious?"

Several Minutes Later

"She's serious" Jaden sighed to himself as he rowed the boat into the lake, following the first boat containing the girls. "How far do we have to row?"

"I think she said to the middle of the lake. Turns out the very middle is obscure from the dorm save for the topmost floor" answered Syrus who manned the rowboats rudder.

"I am beginning to wonder how she knows this but then again she isn't new to the island" Jaden pointed out.

"Hey, Jaden" Syrus speaks up. "Can I ask you something?"

Jaden first looks at him before looking back at the first boat. There isn't much distance between them so even if they stop for a moment, they can still catch up.

"Sure Sy, what is it?" Jaden asked, pausing the rowing as he did so.

"Why did you agree to this one?" Syrus asked him straight away. "I mean I thought that since last week, we agreed that there won't be any more night duels because, you know, we almost got caught."

"I know, I know" Jaden replied. "But I can't say no to a challenge buddy. I mean I haven't had a duel in a week. A week Sy, you what's that like?"

"I have a feeling you're going to tell me."

"It's like suffering from withdrawal buddy. It's not pretty."

Jaden went back to the rowing as Syrus found Jaden's answer to be either daft or funny. For the moment it made him forget their situation.

"So, you're comfortable with this then? That if you lose then you're walking back to the red dorm naked" Syrus pointed out to him and immediately after he had to do a doubletake as Jaden gave him a heavy deadpanned expression in return.

"That's not happening" Jaden replied bluntly, and Syrus chuckled nervously. Suddenly a loud bump was heard, and the boat rocked hard. Despite the two of them sitting, they both felt a loss of balance and alarm etched through their bodies as they looked around to find the cause. Jaden began to stand up but that was a mistake as the boat was still unsettled in the water and made him fall back down. "What the heck?" he said in response.

Meanwhile, in the other boat, Jasmine rowed into the perfect position that Alexis had pointed out. Putting the boat to a stop, Jasmine then rowed the boat on the spot in a turn while Mindy used the rudder.

"Are you sure this is the place exactly?"

"Yep" Alexis replied, she looks to the direction of the dorm and stands up. "This exactly where we need to be."

She then looks over to the other boat and sees that they are within a reasonable distance, but they looked like they were doing something weird. As such in the other boat, Jaden manages to stand up and continues to look around to locate what they bumped into. He then noticed Alexis wave to him and thus stopped what he was doing.

"Well Jaden, I hope you are ready because I am not going easy on you" Alexis called out to him as he regained his balance.

"Don't worry about me. I am more than ready" Jaden replied but before he did anything else, he looked back to Syrus who was glancing to each side of the boat. "Hey Sy, I wasn't the only one who felt that bump, right?"

"No, you weren't" Syrus replied and looked like he was going to panic. "Couldn't we have done this on land?"

Close by in the shallows

Crowler broke the surface of the water as he gasped for air and spat out some of the lake while he was at it.

"Fuck! Not the best way to lose my snorkel. Nearly got myself caught there. Damn little punk should at least learn how to park a boat that doesn't cause head collisions" the doctor grumbled as he rubbed his forehead, a large red mark indicating where it impacted with the boat. "At least I got to a decent spot to watch the festivities, not exactly what I had in mind, but beggars can't be choosers. At least I can watch Alexis wipe the floor with that slacker, although..." he continued before spotting Mindy at the back of the boat the girls are using. "It would have been better if that Jaden loses, Fontaine gets informed instead of nude slacker. Even I don't want to see that!"

Middle of the Lake

Alexis took a breath as she readied herself, her opponent clearly was a little distracted by something as Jaden was checking the water, but it didn't matter. It was time to start the duel, she gave one last look towards the girl's dorm to see that they were fully out of sight, and they were, save for the very top floor of the dorm. No one will be watching anyway therefore they can proceed without risk of discovery. With that concern out of the way, she focused her attention on Jaden who is now readying himself.

"Shall we begin then?"

Jaden raised his duel disk up and gave her a grin in response.

"Oh yeah" he answered as both his and her duel disks lit up and all was left was to announce it.

"Let's Duel!" they cried at the same time as Jasmine, Mindy, Syrus, and the observing hidden Crowler eagerly watched from their positions.

Jaden Yuki: 4000LP

Alexis Rhodes: 4000LP

"Ladies first if you don't mind" Alexis announced as she drew a card.

"Not at all. Show me what you got" Jaden replied as Alexis looked at the card she drew and back to her hand.

"Oh, don't worry. I will be showing you what I got" she thought to herself as she placed the spell card she drew into her hand and pulled out a monster. "Etoile Cyber, rise."

At first it appeared a whirlwind appeared, but it slowed down and a slender orange and pale blue female monster with long brown hair with ribbons around her arms and frill at her hips appeared in a dance like fashion.

Etoile Cyber Lv4

ATK/ 1200 DEF/1600

Syrus blushed a little as he looked at Alexis's monster, looking at it from head to toe.

"That monster looks pretty cute don't you think" Syrus muttered to Jaden who blinked as due to that he was so focussed on the duel. Syrus question caught him off guard.

"Did…did you say something just now?" Jaden asked, uncertain if he heard correctly but never got an answer as Alexis brought him back into the duel itself.

"I am not done just yet as I place one card face down and I end my turn" she stated as she did just that. "It's your turn now Jaden, show me what you got!"

Jaden couldn't help but chuckle as his own question was said right back at him, this is exactly what he wanted throughout the induction week but never got. It truly made him happy, and he is eager to show what he could do again. But before he drew his first card, he heard Syrus call to him.

"Hey Jaden, you got this right. I mean she is the strongest duellist above Jade?" Syrus asked him, he was no longer nervous but more curious about the duel. Jaden gave him a thumbs up in response.

"Don't worry, this is going to be fun."

Alexis watching the scene couldn't help but feel a little annoyed, sure Jaden was giving Syrus encouragement but the two are still on dorm grounds despite being on the lake. Any more of this then the possibility of getting caught increases. The dorm grounds may not be patrolled as much as the main academy building but that give the right to be chill and relaxed.

"Excuse me but if you are done with the uplifting support, we have a duel to do so summon your first hero Jaden. I don't have all night."

It is then that she noticed something was up as Jaden gave her a shake of his head with a grin. It confused her, making her wonder what he was doing when he finally gave her an answer.

"Sorry Lex but I won't be summoning any heroes" Jaden revealed.

"Excuse me?" Alexis asked, unsure what he meant, and she wasn't the only one as both Mindy and Jasmine looked to each other as they sat on the boat.

"Wait, what does he mean by that?" Mindy asked Jasmine. "Doesn't he have a something hero guild deck?"

"Elemental Hero" Jasmine corrected her. "And yes, he does. We watched him use it against Peterson remember and don't forget what Alexis told us about Jade. What is he playing at exactly?"

Crowler's watery hiding spot

Crowler's ears perked up as he can listen in to what is said, and hearing Jaden say that he won't be summoning heroes confused him also.

"What is that slacker even babbling out. Won't be summoning any of his lousy hero monsters? Does he take me or Alexis for a fool? Of course, he is going to be summoning a blasted hero, those are his cards. I mean what else would he have in that deck of his…." Crowler muttered unimpressed with what he heard until he began to trail off as he focused his attention on what Jaden's deck is if he was serious in not summoning an elemental hero. As he did so, a sharp realisation hit him hard, and he began to gape so hard that he could take in water again. "No? No, no, no? Oh god it's that deck, isn't it?!"

The Duel

Alexis stared at Jaden, or more specifically she was staring at the deck in his duel disk. A thought went through her mind, and it made her heart race as she realised what she is going to be up against, but she had to be sure.

"Well then if you are not going to summon an elemental hero. What exactly are you going to summon?"

A confident smirk etched on Jaden's face as he reached for his deck with his free hand.

"Well, if you really want to know. I'll show you!" he announced and drew the first card from his deck, looking at it and focused back on his opponent. "I'll say one thing though, if my entrance exam carried on a bit longer, I would end up summoning something Crowler would know very well I wager."

His statement both intrigued and confused Alexis as she wondered what he meant, and Jaden wasn't going to make her wait long.

"First, I summon Ancient Gear Soldier in attack mode!"

Everyone watched in surprise, except for one who watched in disbelieving horror, as a mechanical gear-based robot in armour with a gun for a right hand appeared. To Syrus who was surprised the most, it looked like the Ancient Gear Golem but far smaller than it was the same size as one of Jaden's elemental heroes. For the one who watched in horror, he only felt further humiliation as he realises that Jaden defeated him with not just any machine deck, but an ancient gear deck.

Ancient Gear Soldier Lv4

ATK/ 1300 DEF/ 1300

To say this was unexpected was so close to the truth that Alexis almost thought she was duelling Crowler for it was one of his cards, but she wasn't. She is duelling Jaden and it came from the same deck that she can now confirm is the exact same one he used to pass the entrance exam. The complete irony that Crowler was beaten by a deck that shared some of his monsters didn't escape her as a small laugh escaped her lips.

"Do you have the same monsters as Crowler in that deck?" she asked.

"Pretty much yeah maybe, though I doubt he and I have the same deck structure" Jaden replied and looked back to his hand. "Now, I think it's time to continue because my soldier is going on the attack, and he is going to be gunning for your…what is your monster anyway? A skater…a dancer? You know what, it doesn't matter. Soldier, gun her down with Rapid Fire Fury!"

Ancient Gear Soldier immediately aimed at Alexis's Etoile Cyber and its gun arm began to glow.

"I don't think so as I activate my face down" Alexis interjected as she activated her face down. "I activate the trap card, Doble Passe. With this, I turn your attack into a direct attack and receive the damage instead."

"Wait what?!" both Jaden and Syrus cried as Ancient Gear Soldier began its attack and fired a full-auto barrage but as Alexis said, the shots missed her monster and hit her instead. The holographic attack made her naturally react and step back in response causing the rowboat to rock a little, un-fazing Jasmine but freaked Mindy out.

"Hey, will you be careful, I don't want to fall out of the boat" Mindy moaned but was gagged by Jasmine who covered her mouth before she could say anything else and interrupt the duel.

Alexis Rhodes: 4000LP - 2700LP

"Man, that's crazy! Why would you do that? Syrus called out.

"Because Syrus, Doble Passe now allows my Etoile Cyber to attack Jaden directly!" Alexis explained and her monster jumped into the air.

"Oh boy" Jaden muttered as he witnesses his opponents monster come at him.

"It gets worse Jaden, for my Etoile Cyber's special effect now activates. She gains an additional six hundred attack points when she attacks directly making her attack power eighteen hundred."

Etoile Cyber Lv4

ATK/ 1200 - 1800 DEF/1600

Etoile Cyber then turned into a spin before giving Jaden a right kick in the face which surprised him so much that he nearly fell of the boat.

Jaden Yuki: 4000LP - 2200LP

"Okay, its confirmed. That monster is a dancer" Syrus pointed out as Jaden regained his balance.

"Yeah right, more like a martial artist" Jaden retorted.

Crowler's watery hiding spot

Crowler couldn't help but snigger at Jaden's current situation as he grinned from ear to ear.

"That's more like it! Go on Alexis, do what Peterson could not and wipe the floor with that runt!" he cried happily, before shutting himself up once realising he raised his voice a little. "Oops, almost gave myself away. Inner voice old boy, inner voice."

The Duel

Alexis glanced over the lake as she thought she heard something, but it didn't keep her attention as Jaden continued his turn.

"I place two face downs and call it a turn" he said as two face-down cards appeared on his side of the field. "Damn, that hit harder than that Chthonian Polymer, sort off" Jaden then muttered to himself and sees Alexis drew her next card.

"Ready for more Jaden because there is a lot more where that came from as I summon Blade Skater in attack mode!" Alexis informed him and another female monster appeared. Similar colour patten but with purple and grey colours and sporting the same frills around the waist had large blades coming out of the wrist that are the length of the arms, skates attached to the feet, and has a single eye.

Blade Skater Lv4

ATK/ 1400 DEF/1500

"Okay, this one is clearly a skater" Jaden thought as Alexis continued her turn.

"Next, I activate the spell card, polymerisation. Pretty sure you know full well about this card, don't you?" Alexis asked as Jaden began to giggle nervously.

"Pretty much yeah" he replied and looked back to his own deck. "Maybe I should have brought my heroes after all."

"Well now here's a real fusion monster as I now fuse both my Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater together to fusion summon, Cyber Blader in attack mode!"

The two monsters on her side of the field fused together and, in their place, stood above the water, a slender longed haired monster with the same waist frills as the previous monsters and retains the skates from Blade Skater and appears to be wearing a vizor.

Cyber Blader Lv7

ATK/ 2100 DEF/ 800

"Well, she looks like she means business" Jaden commented which amused Alexis quite a bit.

"Exactly and she is going to be doing just that as she will now attack your Ancient Gear Soldier with whirlwind rage!

Cyber Blader then spun on her toes and the speed of her spin increased as she got closer to Jaden's monster, but Jaden had other ideas.

"Sorry but I am going to have to slow down that spin as I activate the spell card, Limiter Removal" he declared as a spell card activated. "What this spell card does is double the attack power of all my machine type monsters I have in play which means my soldier is getting a well needed buff."

As he said that, his Ancient Gear Soldier began to glow and the gears in its armour began to speed up as its eye glowed redder from the power increase.

Ancient Gear Soldier Lv4

ATK/ 1300 - 2600 DEF/ 1300

"And now you attack will fall short as you monster will be destroyed as you gain five hundred points of damage" Jaden finished saying as Cyber Blader's attack hit his soldier head on and the resulting clash caused a gust of wind to head into Alexis's direction.

Alexis Rhodes: 2700LP - 2200LP

Jaden literally punched the sky as he watched Alexis's attack fail. "And with that your monster gets destroyed for attacking my powered-up soldier and…and…" he continued but stopped and he noticed that Cyber Blader was still on the field. "Hold up, shouldn't your monster be destroyed?"

Alexis gave a smug grin in response and Jaden realised something was wrong.

"Well normally that would be the case, but my Cyber Blader has three special abilities and one of them is this, as long as you have a monster on your side of the field. Cyber Blader can never be destroyed in battle." She explained and Jaden's worry turned into shock.

"No way!" Syrus cried out from behind as Jaden looked to his monster and saw his mistake.

"And it's only going to get worse" Jaden commented.

"Huh? How?" Syrus questioned, unsure of what just happened.

"Allow me to explain, while Limiter Removal doubles the attack power of machine monsters, it also has a steep price as those same monsters are destroyed at the end of the turn" Alexis explained before Jaden could. "Good try in order to get my monster destroyed but with an effect as Cyber Balader's. It fell short but I'll give you a 'B' minus for effort."

"Oh, so you tell me off for rating him, but you can do it no problem!" they hear Mindy complain and Alexis turned around, baffled by the childish comparison.

"I was grading his effort for that turn Mindy, not his looks" she corrected the pouting girl as Jasmine gave the impression of 'not getting involved'. "Are you paying attention?"

"Yeah, sort of" Mindy admitted, and everyone sweat dropped, including Crowler.

"Never mind" Alexis groaned and returned to the duel. "Since there is nothing else to do, I end my turn and you know what that means."

Both Jaden and Syrus looked to Ancient Gear Soldier who then quickly exploded into dust as Jaden sighed in response.

"Bugger!" he uttered and turned his attention to Alexis's Cyber Blader. "This may be a problem."

Obelisk Girls Dorm, Top Floor

Zara's eyes shot open as an unmistakable sound rang in her ears, it may have been quiet and not gain any attention from another but not to her ears. It was enough to wake her as she glanced to the open window beside her bed. It was the sound of a duel monster being destroyed, someone was duelling and despite how quiet it was. It was clear that the duel was nearby. Getting out of bed, she approached the window and looked out. There was a gentle breeze which she felt on her skin as the moon light shone through, illuminating her naked form. She glanced out of the window and observed the horizon, she could only see the forests and the academy building to the distance but no signs of a duel. She was certain it was nearby and looked to the other side of her room. If there is a duel nearby then it would also be out of sight, perhaps the lake. The lake can be seen from the dorm but not all of it, benefits of being on the top floor is that you can see the whole lake in its entirety. And her room is above the standard top floor with windows on all sides with a stairway leading to the rest of her room below. After reaching one of the windows, she pulled back the curtain to look over the lake, at first, she saw nothing but noticed to her left what looked like two rowboats. Heading over to another wonder further down, she repeated what she did and looked to the lake and can see the boats more clearly. She was right of course as it clearly is a duel happening on the lake as she can see a duel monster but on closer inspection, it was one she knew well.

"That isn't what I think it is?" she thought as she moved from the window to the nearest vanity table where in a drawer, she kept a mere trifle from a duelling event she was event to, one that had an opera theme to it, magnify-opera glasses complete with handle. Taking it, she returned to the window and after getting the right magnification, she can now see clearly who is involved. "It is Alexis, just what is she doing?" Zara thought as she looked to see who Alexis is duelling. "Oh, it's the one who bested Crowler. Yuki and…" she trailed off in her thoughts as her sight fell upon Syrus. "Why is that runt here also?!"

The Duel

Jaden looked to his hand and saw a potential way out though that is only if he can draw anything good, he'll have to overwise Alexis, and the others are going to report them to the disciplinary committee. Even with that letter as evidence of trickery, a huge suspension if they were lucky is what they could get if they could avoid expulsion.

"I really need to draw a good card otherwise I am going to kicked in the face again, maybe. Pretty sure Cyber Blader could do that" Jaden thought as he prepped himself up. "Okay, here goes."

He draws a card and once he sees what it is, he grins.

"Not what I expected but hell I'll take it" he said aloud and placed the card in his duel disk. "I activate Pot of Greed so I can draw two new cards."

Jaden did just that and seeing his two new cards, he saw that he wasn't out yet.

"Next I summon Ancient Gear Wyvern in attack mode."

A winged dragon-like mechanical monster appeared with a mechanical shriek on Jaden's side of the field.

Ancient Gear Wyvern Lv4

ATK/ 1700 DEF/ 1200

"Now I activate its special effect, since wyvern is summoned, I can add one ancient gear card from my deck and straight into my hand."

The wyvern glowed as Jaden took a card from his deck.

"Not bad Jaden but you do realise that my Cyber Blader has four hundred more attack points, right?" Alexis pointed out but Jaden wasn't fazed.

"I know, that's why my wyvern isn't staying" he revealed, causing Alexis to become curious. "That because I play another spell card, if you think my hero deck was the only one that can do fusion then check this out as because I play polymerisation. Now I fuse Ancient Gear Wyvern with the Ancient Gear in my hand, courtesy of Wyvern, to fusion summon Ancient Gear Howitzer in defence mode!"

His Ancient Gear Wyvern disappeared and was replaced with a large two-legged, winged machine with three cannon barrels for arms and a tail.

Crowler's watery hiding spot

"My word" Crowler gasped as he stared directly at Jaden's fusion monster. "He has Ancient Gear Howitzer, even I don't have that. Must admit, very well played on his part as that monster doesn't need to attack so placing it in defence mode is the right choice" he said to himself and mused about Jaden's turn until his eyes went wide in horror. "Oh my god! Did I just praise the Slacker?!"

The Duel

To say the duel was becoming enjoyable went through her thoughts as Alexis was intrigued with Jaden's duelling. He had not just come back from the previous turn; he had summoned a fusion monster to counter her own. She was aware that its attack power is far lower than hers, so is its defence points but what intrigued her was why did he summon this monster. It was something she decided to ask anyway.

"I take it that this new monster of yours has a special ability?"

"How did you know?" Jaden answered her question with another question, but she got her answer regardless.

"Lucky guess, so what does it do?" Alexis asked further.

"Well for one thing, Howitzer can inflict one thousand points of damage directly to your life points once per turn so up and at 'em big fella. Attack with mechanical barrage!"

His monster responded by aiming its cannons directly at Alexis fired them all one at a time. Smoke trailing shells arched over the field and landed directly at Alexis's feet. Mindy was shrieking if she could as Jasmine covered her mouth again to prevent her from doing so as Alexis gave disapproval as she sees her life point meter go down.

Alexis Rhodes: 2200LP - 1200LP

"Damnit! She cursed and looked up. "You finished your turn?"

"Well, yeah I suppose I have."

"Good because I draw!" she called out and pulled out a card. "Fusion Weapon, this can be useful but there is something else" she thought and glances over to Jaden's Ancient Gear Howitzer. "He said 'for one thing' before activating its special ability, which means it's the same as my monster. It has more than one" she hypothesized, taking her eyes of the monster and looks to a spell card in her hand. "On the off chance that its other ability will destroy my Blader, I have monster reborn to bring her back. Time to find out" she concluded and set that spell card face down. "I place a card face down and now I will have my Cyber Blader destroy your howitzer. Now go, whirlwind rage!"

Her monster gave out a cry as it again spun on its feet, creating a mini whirlwind, and then struck Jaden's monster head on causing it to explode.

"You shouldn't have done that because now I can activate Howitzer's second ability" Jaden informed her, and her lips curled into a grin.

"Knew it" she thought. "Go on Jaden, let's see what you can do now but regardless, it won't do you any good since I have both fusion weapon and monster reborn."

"You see if Howitzer is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, I can summon an Ancient Gear monster from my deck and ignore any summoning conditions it has."

Alexis blinked in response as she heard him explain the second ability and it was what he said in the end what intrigued her.

"Ignore summoning conditions? That means you can bring out any monster as long it has Ancient Gear in its name."

"Correct and I have the perfect pick" Jaden spoke as he drew the card from the deck. "I was hoping to show it to Crowler if I ever face him with this deck again to see his reaction, I think it would be hilarious, especially since I have the third."

After he said that, both Alexis and Syrus looked at him wondering what exactly he meant by 'third'. Jasmine was not really bothered as she wanted to see how the duel pans out, but Mindy wasn't following fully so she had no idea what he meant.

"Third? Third what exactly?" Syrus asked, confused to the fullest and Jaden looked at him amused, as if Jaden expected Syrus to know what he meant but the boy appears to have forgotten.

"C'mon Sy don't you remember. Back at the entrance exam, I showed it to both you and Bastian after I passed."

Syrus then thought back to that day, as Jaden explained it happened after he defeated Crowler in the entrance exam. He then remembered that he was shown a card right before they met Jade and Alexis respectfully and that card was...

"No way! You are going to bring it out?!" Syrus called out, remembering exactly what Jaden showed him that day and his confirmation was a thumbs up.

"Yep, that is exactly what I am going to do" he confirmed and focused back on the duel. "Hey Alexis, hope you're ready because if you thought I brought out the big guns before then I have to correct you."

Alexis didn't say a word as her mind raced with intrigue as she wanted to see what Jaden has in store.

"Here goes, using Howitzer's ability. I summon the legendary Ancient Gear Golem!"

All eyes went wide as from below the surface of the water, the Ancient Gear Golem began to appear on beside Jaden. Alexis herself couldn't believe what she was seeing as the monster began to tower over her and her Cyber Blader.

"No way, that legendary rare card…he has it too?" she spoke out loud.

Crowler's watery hiding spot

The sight of Jaden's Ancient Gear Golem nearly made him leap from the water, he stared wide eyed, jaw dropped as he stared at the legendary monster with pure dread. A pitiful tiny cry of disbelief escaped his throat as he failed to comprehend the sight before him.

"How? How? How, how, how, how, how, how, how, how…how does he have my baby?"

The Duel

Jaden looked to the towering mechanical titan as his side and with an amused smirk he thought of something. "If only I could see Crowler's face. It would be the perfect payback for that remark on Syrus earlier today" and with that he looked to Alexis who herself was staring at the monster he summoned. "Hey Lex, you want to end your turn of something" he called out.

"Huh? Oh right, no my turn isn't over yet Jaden" Alexis replied after being brought back to the duel at hand and looked to her hand. "It's a good thing I have this as I activate the spell card, Fusion Weapon. I equip it to my Cyber Blader which will increase both her attack and defence points by fifteen hundred."

Cyber Blader's right arm then changed as it morphed into a two-pointed prong like device which finalised into a built-in arm weapon and just as she said. Her monsters attack and defence points increased.

Cyber Blader Lv7

ATK/ 2100 - 3600 DEF/ 800 - 2300

"This will keep me in the duel and also enable me to destroy his Ancient Gear Golem on my next turn" she planned and gave the golem another look. "I still can't fathom how Jaden also has that card, but I can beat it. No offense Jaden but there is no way I am going to lose" she grinned and believing that she can do no more, it was time to end it. "Your turn Jaden."

Obelisk Girls Dorm, Top Floor

Zara was rarely surprised and when she is, no one is there to notice as the sight of Ancient Gear Golem's appearance almost made her drop the opera glasses.

"Did that sorry excuse of a dorm head give the slifer his deck? First, it was those two monsters that were definitely the same style as Crowler's and now the golem itself" she cursed mentally as she increased the magnification. "That's absolutely absurd, Crowler would never do that which means that deck really belongs to the slifer."

She turned her attention back to Alexis and her monster and sees that Alexis has equipped her Cyber Blader with a spell card.

"Alexis, you better not lose otherwise…" she thought as the prospect of Alexis losing the duel to Jaden hung in her mind. "My attention on Atticus's search will plummet."

The Duel

Jaden looked to his field and sees that he still has a face down but also his Ancient Gear Golem in play and since Alexis as just ended her turn. He has a moment to do something before starting his turn for real.

"Glad to hear you say that as now I draw" he declared and drew a card. "First, I summon another Ancient Gear Wyvern in attack mode!"

With a mechanical shriek, Jaden's second wyvern appeared on the field.

"And of course, its special effect activates, I can add a new ancient gear card from my deck."

"Go ahead Jaden, it doesn't change the fact that my Cyber Blader has more attack points so whatever monster you are going to add won't make the difference" Alexis pointed out.

"Monster?" Jaden asked as he paused for a moment and realised what she meant. "Oh, you think it's just monster cards, my bad I should have explained it earlier" he then said, surprising everyone. "When I said that Ancient Gear Wyvern can allow me to take an ancient gear card from my deck and to my hand, I mean a card with ancient gear in its name."

Alexis immediately understood what he meant; she should have figured that the ability wasn't restricted to monster cards.

"Then that means you didn't pick a monster, but either a spell or a trap."

"Correct, and it's a spell card called Ancient Gear Castle. Speaking of which, I activate it" Jaden confirmed and activated the spell card in the process. Seconds later, an old medieval-looking castle with cogs and gears sticking out of it and turrets on its battlements appeared behind him. Syrus at first panicked as he thought the castle was going to tip over the boat, but it didn't, and he relaxed.

"Now that my castle is out, my two monsters gain three hundred attack points while it is on the field."

"And that's not all as I will activate my face down, Ancient Gear Tank. With this card, any ancient gear monster is equipped with it gains an additional six hundred attack points and I am quipping this to Ancient Gear Golem" Jaden then announced as his face down is activated and an armoured looking tank bike appeared on the field but surprisingly to everyone, gear golem isn't riding it but holding it in its massive hand.

"Is it meant to be like that?" Syrus asked and Jaden laughed embarrassedly.

"Well…gear golem is a little…big for it so you can't expect it to ride it or something. That would be like a world heavyweight riding a children's tricycle" Jaden explained as the golem attack points increased.

Ancient Gear Golem. Lv8

ATK/ 3300 - 3900 DEF/ 3000

Alexis stared at the powered-up monster and realised that she was in more trouble than she thought and quickly glanced to her own face down just as Jaden began his attack.

"Ancient Gear Golem, attack her Cyber Blader!" he declared, and the Ancient Gear Golem did just that but instead of punching. It reached out with the hand that held the tank and its cannon fired a single shot at Alexis's monster, destroying it in an instant.

Alexis Rhodes: 1200LP - 900LP

"And with your monster gone, my wyvern can now attack you directly!" Jaden continued.

The Ancient Gear Wyvern flapped its wings as a bright light lit up in its mouth. Alexis looked to her face-down monster reborn but realised she couldn't do anything. If she used it and brought back Blader in attack mode, she will destroy Jaden's Wyvern, but it will only inflict a hundred points of damage to him, and she doubt that she can get anything good in her next draw. A smile crept up as Ancient Gear Wyvern's attack commenced, and she chuckled slightly.

"Forget it, no point continuing anyway and besides, it was pretty fun" she thought as she was engulfed in the last attack of the duel.

Alexis Rhodes: 900LP - 0LP

Soon the golem and the wyvern disappeared as she sat back down with a heavy sigh. Both Mindy and Jasmine sat rooted in their seats, they both couldn't believe that they saw Alexis lost against Jaden. Especially Mindy who despite not paying much attention, really thought he was going to lose. Meanwhile, in the other boat, Jaden gave off his grin and provided a thumbs up in Alexis's direction.

"And that's game" he called out. "And I have to admit, that was one sweet duel Lex. Let me know if you fancy another duel sometime."

"Sure" she replied with a smile. "If I fancy one, you will be the first to know."

However, out of them all it was Mindy who was feeling down about it.

"Damn it he won! Now I can't get a girl's payback from them" she moaned internally. "And he won, so he gets something right. Shit, I didn't think he would win."

Obelisk Girls Dorm, Top Floor

If one were to describe Zara's current situation as absolute rage, then that one would still be far off. Fists clenched, teeth gritted hard, and a glare so full of spite it had to be dangerous to witness it in person. One thing is certain, Zara hated the prospect that any asset that is hers can easily be defeated and she just witnessed one of her top assets just get defeated.

"Are you fucking with me right now Alexis?! Peterson is one thing as he is just low ranking within the Obelisks but you… the one who is second after me… gets defeated by some no-name from nowhere!" she seethed in her mind.

Normally she wouldn't care but it was the fact Alexis lost to someone who is siding with her little brother, the mistake. Such a victory might make Syrus think he could have a chance himself and become more of an irritant presence in her life. Inhaling deeply, she left the window and returned to her bedside where her PDA waited at the table. Grabbing it, she pressed the speed-dial function, and it began to ring. As it did so, she grabbed a long-length coat from the coatrack and as she put it on, whomever she was ringing answered.

"Hmmm, hello? Is there a reason you are calling me at this hour Zaria?"

"Nurse Fontaine, I do apologise but I need you to meet me at the dorm pier. An after-hours duel has just been instigated. And there are two boys from the slifer red dorm on the grounds."

The Lake's Edge (further away from the boats)

A flabbergasted Crowler crawls out of the lake and into the forest, his mind is racing from what he witnessed, and it was what he witnessed that he wished he can un-witness so that he doesn't have to acknowledge what has occurred.

"I cannot believe it. The slifer slacker defeated the second-best duellist of the whole academy" he forced out through a gaping mouth. "It just cannot be. It's absurd!"

Picking himself off the ground, he slowly but persistently makes his way back to obelisk blue boy's dorm.

"I need to sleep this nightmare off. And I must find a way to be rid of that slacker" he tells himself then stops as he checks he has everything and finds he still has the camera. "Bugger, I forgot about the camera!" he announces to no one and hurries back to the lake. "I can still take that picture and get the runts expelled!"

Lake Pier, a moment later

The two boats rowed side by side as they reached the pier's edge, no one said a word since the duels end but that was because of growing exhaustion crept at them. Jaden and Syrus were the first to get off and while Syrus tied the boat to the pier or at least tried to, Jaden was extending his hands out to help the girls off their boat. Alexis and Jasmine accepted the kind gesture first and once they were off the boat, it was Mindy's turn. The latter however got a bit red in the face as if she was focussing on something else before Jaden helped her out.

"Damn I gotta say but that was fun to watch" Jasmine said in midst arm stretch. "Almost makes me regret not being the one duelling."

"Always next time" Mindy mumbled.

Alexis chuckled in response and turns her attention to Jaden who is helping Syrus tie up the boats to the side.

"Looks like we get to return to the dorm with you still clothed after all Jaden" she hears Syrus say to Jaden who just rubs his head with a grin.

"Told you it wasn't going to happen" Jaden replied then noticed a shadow over his shoulder and sees that Alexis is standing over him.

"Have to admit Jaden, you did well. But I must ask, where did you get that card? I mean I know that there are three of them and Crowler to my knowledge has two of them. To think that you have the third" she told him.

Jaden grinned at her as he stood up.

"What can I say, I am full of surprises" he replies. "Want to know a secret?" he adds.

Intrigued, Alexis leans closer to him, and he does too.

"And what would that be?" Alexis inquired.

"Golem isn't the decks top dog" Jaden informed her. "You will have to wait and see what the card is."

Alexis couldn't help that Jaden is being a little cocky, but she found it funny also.

"Well, I guess I will find out in our next duel."

"I doubt any of you will have the chance to do so!"

The new voice echoed over them and forced all to be still as emotions of anxiety, slight fear, and panic flooded them. Each of them then slowly turned to face the person who had just spoken, and much to their despair. They saw Nurse Fontaine standing at the top of the pier steps in a nightgown, pure disappointment and anger etched on her face, but she wasn't alone. Much to Syrus's horror, as well as Alexis's hidden fear, Fontaine is joined by Zara who is balefully glaring at the group.

"Zara!" she muttered as Sryus ducked behind Jaden. "How?"

"I saw everything from my room" Zara told her, her tone as cold as herself.

"And those duel disks on your arms are all the evidence needed to confirm what she has told me" Fontaine added into the conversation then pointed towards Jaden and Syrus. "Along with two male students trespassing on the girl's dorm grounds."

In the lake, by the pier

The sight of Fontaine's and Zara's appearance caught him so off-guard that he did not realise that he arrived in his previous hiding spot where he was before the kids headed off in the boats.

"Well, this just got interesting" he whispered with glee.

On the pier

"Miss Fontaine, please we can explain" Alexis spoke but the dorm head waved her off.

"There is nothing to explain Miss Rhodes, you have broken a very important rule of this academy. No duels in late-night hours" Fontaine informed her. "I am so disappointed in you Alexis. Along with your brother, you were a shining example of a student at this academy… and you threw it away for what, proving you're the second-best duellist of Duel Academy?"

"Actually Miss Fontaine, as of tonight I no longer have that title" Alexis spoke again and gestured towards Jaden. "I lost to Jaden fair and square."

Nurse Fontaine blinked a few times and her expression changed from disappointment to mild surprise. She looks between the two in question before settling her focus on Jaden.

"Did I just hear correctly young man?" she asked him. "Not only did you defeat Dr Crowler and Mr Peterson, but you also defeated Miss Rhodes?"

"Um, yeah" Jaden answered her and for the moment, the feeling of acknowledgement was sensed coming from the dorm head.

"Wow, I must admit you are one capable duellist" she complimented him which in turn made Jaden pleased with himself. "Shame that you won't be able to perfect that capability as tomorrow morning you are heading straight home via expulsion" she then added which brought that pleased feeling crashing down hard.

"Please Miss if you could allow us to explain…" Jaden began but he was interrupted but not by Fontaine but by Zara.

"Explain what exactly?" Zara told him, her manner civil yet remained cold. "That somehow you and Alexis were duelling in the middle of the lake because she invited you or something?"

"I was actually invited by Mindy" Jaden replied, simply explaining what had really happened but that didn't stop the affected individual from going into the defensive.

"What the hell 'D'!" she yelled out, using the rating letter she used on him before. "Why did you say that?!"

The outburst surprised the group, especially Jaden who felt he didn't do anything wrong except tell the truth. Even so it didn't stop him from going on the defensive either.

"Because you did, with a silly voice changer no less" he yelled back. "I'm only here because you had Syrus!"

"Excuse me but Syrus was here first?" Fontaine interrupted, causing Jaden to gulp as he came to grips that he just implicated a second person.

"Oops" he quietly muttered as Fontaine turned her attention to the small boy who grew nervous as a result.

"Is this true young man, you're the first one trespassing on the dorm's grounds this late at night?"

Syrus stood still but not because of Fontaine asking him but because the leering glare he felt from his own sister. Fortunately for him, Alexis noticed and stepped in by blocking Syrus from Zara's sight which only caused Zara to glare at her hard but for an entirely different reason. With his sister out of view, Syrus calmed a little and answered Fontaine's question.

"Yeah, I was, sorry" Syrus replied, and Fontaine shook her head.

"That is unwelcome behaviour, young man. Why were you on the grounds anyway? What were you trying to do?"

"I thought I was going to meet Alexis near the dorm like the letter said" Syrus replied again quietly but, in that statement, Fontaine picked up on one word that stood out.

"What letter?" she demanded.

Jaden, Alexis, Mindy, Jasmine, and Syrus looked at each other, and they all realised that a saving grace has been revealed that could save them from expulsion if not might.

"The letter, of course, who has that letter?" Alexis asked them. "Who had it last?"

"Me but I then gave it to Mindy" Jaden recalled, and eyes turned to Mindy who then began to check her pockets. During this, Fontaine began to recall something of her own and as she saw Mindy pull paper from her pocket. She remembered what she was recalling.

"Oh, for goodness' sake, not again" she groaned as Mindy handed her the letter. "Please tell me it's not what I think it is."

"Do you recall a love letter incident last year" Alexis politely asked while trying not to sound humorous about it.

"All too well" Fontaine replied and began to read the letter, it didn't take long to read it. "Bugger it all. We ended up expelling over twenty students because of these last year" she complained. "Hold on, you said you were expecting to meet Alexis due to this letter, but it says it's for Jaden?"

"Yeah" Syrus spoke and rubbed his head in embarrassment. "I didn't read the whole thing fully, so I thought it was for me since it was in my locker."

"Why would a letter for Jaden be in your locker?"

"Because he puts his stuff in it" Syrus said with no issues, but it did catch Jaden's attention.

"What are you talking about? That's my locker, yours is the one next to it" he told him.

"No Jaden that's yours."

"Are you sure?"

"Will you both please be quiet" Fontaine abruptly told the two of them as she looked at the letter again. As she did, she noticed something oddly familiar.

Crowler did a mental face palm as he hears the information about the locker.

"I suppose that explains why the runt came here instead of Jaden. Should have realised that slifers have no coordination about who's is there's" he thought to himself. "Still there is nothing to stop them from getting expelled, right?"

He sees Fontaine reading the letter and that looked weird to him as she had already read it.

"Why are you reading the damn thing again Fonda?"

"Wait, I recognise this handwriting!" he then heard her say and that now made him panic.

"Ugh, I should have typed!"

On the pier

"You recognise the handwriting?" Jaden asked in surprise. "That means you know the student who wrote that?"

Fontaine's expression changed to a 'well….' face as she looked to them.

"Maybe but I need to double check so anyone got a light?" she asked and instantly, Syrus pulled his torch from his pocket and handed it to the dorm head. "Thank you."

Shining the light onto the letter, she can see the handwriting more clearly and much to annoyance it just confirms what she suspected.

"Oh, for the love of…. why did he write this? For what end did he write this?" Fontaine groaned loudly and it only made the others curious even more. Zara herself, stepped closer to Fontaine to get a better view of the letter. Seeing the handwriting, she couldn't really make any sense of who wrote as she never cared for that sort of thing but witnessing Fontaine's reaction to it. It made her suspect on who it could have been as only one person on the island would make Fontaine get annoyed at.

"Excuse me, Nurse Fontaine" Syrus spoke to her, both catching the dorm heads attention and making Zara glare at him again. "Do you know who wrote the letter then, which student did it?"

"Technically the handwriting belongs to someone I do know but he isn't a student" Fontaine replied and that made the group, minus Zara, even more curious.

"So, who wrote it?" Jasmine asked her but the dorm head simply folded the letter and placed it into a pocket within her gown.

"That is none of your concern" she told them. "However…" she then added just before any of them could protest. "This might prevent your expulsion if it is the case."

This information came as a big surprise for those involved as it will mean that they can stay in the academy. Zara simply scowled as the thought of her brother not getting kicked out.

"But I will be bringing this before the Chancellor, it will be his decision of what will happen next. For now, I will inform Professor Banner and I want you girls back to your rooms" she then informed them before turning to the boys. "I will tell Banner about the letter as well as what occurred last year bothered him greatly. So, the two of you head back now."

With that said, Fontaine turned around and made her way back to the dorm, leaving Zara behind with the others. Zara for her part just kept glaring at them for the moment which bothered both Jaden and Jasmine, concerned Alexis, and finally creeped out both Mindy and Syrus. Both then hid behind Jaden and Jasmine respectfully.

"Alexis" she finally spoke. "You and I will need to have a word at some point."

Alexis never got a chance to reply as Zara just turned without saying another word and left them as well. With Zara gone, Syrus once more eased up and the mood was lifted slightly. Despite getting caught by a teacher, it seemed that the worse isn't coming thanks to the letter itself but that didn't mean they were off the hook.

"Well, that is enough excitement for one night" Jasmine bluntly said, and the others just breathed in relief of sorts. "I'm heading back to my room. Anyone coming except the lads?"

"Here" Mindy said and headed up the pier steps, past Jasmine.

"Coming" Alexis said also but before taking a step, she turns to Jaden. "So much for not getting found out I suppose."

Jaden smiled at her, but he did notice something is wrong as though they were indeed caught by Fontaine, Alexis seemed more bothered by another individual.

"You going to be okay Lex?" asked Jaden. "It sounds like Zara wasn't fond of what happened here."

"You noticed, yeah I don't think she cares much but something really has irked her" Alexis replied and rubbed her arm concerningly. "I just…hope it isn't serious or something."

Noticing her actions, Jaden couldn't help but be concerned but he watches Alexis compose herself and gave him a wave.

"Anyway, you two better get back to your dorm fast otherwise we'll all get in more trouble."

"Got it. You take care" Jaden told her and then he and Syrus climbed up the steps and one they are up they quickly headed for the forest path they came through previously. Alexis watched them go before re-joining the others as the three of them head back inside the dorm.

"Hey Alexis, is there something going on between you two?" Mindy suddenly asked out of the blue which caught her off-guard.

"What? What do you mean?" she asked in reply, unsure what Mindy is getting at.

"Well, it's because you two always seem nice to him so I'm just wondering, you got a crush on him?"

Alexis stared at Mindy wide-eyed while Jasmine who simply overheard became intrigued.

"What! No, we're just friends Mindy. Besides I only know him for about a week. Not exactly long enough to develop a crush!"

"She has a point Mindy and besides you don't just get together less than a week" Jasmine included. "I mean what, you think its date after the first day, then straight to going out and tussle in the bed covers?"

"Isn't that usually how it goes anyway?" Mindy answered back and both girls just sweat drop in response.

"You really should lay off the reality shows Mind."

Some time later, Slifer Red Dorm

Chumley is nervous, not simply because he was waiting for Jaden and Syrus to return from whatever was happening at the girl's dorm, not because he was outside and at the steps, but because out of the blue he was joined by a half-asleep Professor Banner. Banner stood beside Chumley whilst carrying Pharoah in his arms. The fact that he was out made Chumley realise that either Jaden or Syrus was caught by another teacher and yet for some strange reason the professor didn't seem angry but instead concerned whilst in his sleepy state. Either way, Banner didn't say a word to Chumley and when Chumley finally saw that he was present, he kept his mouth shut and inwardly panic on what is going on. As a result, he kept glancing back and forth between the dorms head and the forest path multiple times. However, Banner knew he was there and found the constant back and forth glances to be rather over the top.

"You can stop doing that Chumley, you're going to make yourself dizzy."

Chumley almost fell of the stairs in response, but he did succeed in freaking out a bit.

"I…er…sorry!" Chumley blabbed out. "Um, professor, is everything alright?"

"You tell me Chumley, in fact why are you exactly outside at this hour?"

There was no annoyance or anger in Banner's voice, but Chumley knew regardless that Banner knew something and that something was clearly two people.

"Waiting for someone" Chumley admitted.

"Same here and no doubt we both are waiting for the same people, correct?" Banner asked further.

"Yeah."

One thing Banner is fond of from his students is their honesty, and Chumley is one of the most honest.

"Don't worry, I am not angry. Nurse Fontaine called and told me the details" Banner informed him and Chumley felt calmer yet was still worried about what would happen next to Jaden and Syrus.

"Are they going to get expelled?"

"No, apparently a letter situation just like last year is involved. I am actually very glad it was revealed to be the case first hand instead of much later like last time" Banner revealed. "Hopefully it will ease the punishment a good deal or so."

"Letter situation?" Chumley spoke softly and as he thought on it more, it made sense. "So it was that. It explains what Jaden meant by odd behaviour from Syrus and everything. I'm just amazed that some obelisk thought it was funny to do it again."

"Ah there they are" Banner declared, bringing Chumley from his thoughts. Looking up he sees Jaden and Syrus emerge from the forest and approach the dorm. Both began to appear nervous when they saw Banner waiting for them. Chumley couldn't help but feel sorry for them but at least it won't be bad. Once the two boys got close enough to them, Banner stepped forward. "My students, I hope you understand that this is an issue?"

"Sorry sir" Syrus spoke first.

"Yeah, we didn't mean to break any rules" Jaden added.

"Hmm oh yes of course that but I mean that someone tried to get two of my students expelled with the same dirty trick!" Banner suddenly declared with a clenched fist. Scaring the three students as a result as they never considered Banner to get scary in anyway. "Oh sorry, just the thought of it makes me angry as such methods" Banner then apologised when he saw their reaction.

"Holy crap he can get mad" is the unified thought from all three students.

"So, I guess Fontaine told you about it?" Jaden asked as Banner calmed down.

"Oh yes, including an out-of-hours duel you did with Miss Rhodes I might add" Banner replied and pointed out.

"Oh crap" Chumley muttered as Banner continued.

"And though I shouldn't say anything due to it being an out-of-hour duel, I cannot help but say congratulations on winning. I am surprised that a student of mine actually beat one of the ten top duellists, let alone the second best."

"He did what now?!" Chumley bawled out in shock.

Jaden grinned in response to Chumley's reaction and rubbed his nose along with it.

"I'll tell you about it later buddy" he told him.

"Yes, well perhaps you can do so after you all return to your room. And please no more surprises for tonight. I will be meeting the chancellor with Nurse Fontaine about what happened, but I am assured that no one is getting an expulsion" Banner informed them, and Pharoah meowed as he finished. "Now off to bed all of you."

"Yes professor" all three replied and Banner now satisfied, made his way back to his own room. Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley began to head back up the stairs to their own room, yet Chumley still wanted answers.

"Jaden you have got to tell me what happened?" Chumley asked as they approached the door.

"Don't worry, I'll tell" Jaden replied with a yawn. "In the morning."

Chumley mumbled as he entered the room with Syrus following behind but Jaden himself paused as he noticed two duel spirits simultaneously appear in front of him in their transparent forms.

"Hey, you two…" he began quietly but stopped when he saw their expressions, Winged Kuriboh was hard to read by Yubel was a different matter entirely.

"Let me get this straight, you won obviously but didn't you also tell us that you wouldn't get caught?" Yubel asked in what could only be described as an angry mother tone.

Jaden could feel his hair stand on end and realised that somehow, tonight wasn't yet over for him.

"Okay, now I am in trouble."

Obelisk Blue Boys Dorm. Crowler's Personal Suite

He did not like the fact he has to sneak into his own dorm through the window but entering by the front door and leaving a wet trail would raise questions. Especially since Fontaine has concluded that he is responsible for the letter and will bring it to the chancellor in the morning.

"This night is unbearable" he growled as he took off the scuba tank and flippers. "What am I going to do? How will I bluff my way out of this one?"

He then noticed his personal PDA is lighting up continuously, evidence that he has received a message notification. The thought that is was due to what happened at the lake hit him like a freight train but instinctively he picked up and checked.

"A message…from Chancellor Sheppard?" he read, surprised that it was from the chancellor and not from Fontaine. "Sent to me after I left for the lake. I wonder what it is about."

Tapping the screen, the received message appeared up and as he read it. He let of a slow and yet large grin as the message's contents delighted him to no end.

"Well, this will make things easier."

And that is chapter six and I apologise in advance as this is another behemoth of a chapter, to save time I hope you all did skip Crowler's flashback as that is just an extract from chapter three. I had to try and keep the story going and I have no idea if I overdid it or not so I will have to wait until your review dear readers.
