A/N: Okie, this is just a 325-word one-shot, and that's not including my author notes and disclaimer. The fic alone is 325-words, just cuz I felt like it. It's a little splurge on Shikamaru and Temari.

Why Only You
The fury of the winds. I knew she was the one fighting now. Closing my eyes, I allowed the winds to whip about me.
This is the second time she has saved me. No doubt, she would rub it in my face. I wouldn't care. I would let her do what she wanted.
The war against the Sound; the Sand would be our powerful ally.
With the settling of the dust, I looked and there she was. Her blond hair ruffled but a bit, and the same grin on her face. Just looking at her, I felt such a troublesome feeling.
Love? Did I love this Sunakagure kunoichi?
No, that was doubtful. But I could not deny that I did harbour some feelings for her. I could only smile inwardly at her display of arrogance and confidence. She must have loved it just the same. Even though she tried not to show it, I could tell from her smile, that she did not just feel superior and confident.
I admired her strong will, and her intelligence. Something I doubted Ino would ever hope to have. Maybe I was being irrational, but this Sand shinobi, Temari, daughter of the late Kazekage, there was something about her more appealing. Yes, she may have shared similar qualities with Ino.
Blond? Yes. Bossy? Definitely. Confident? Yes. …Attractive? They both had admirable qualities, but Temari seemed more appealing to me. Plus, she was not as caught up with appearances as Ino. She seemed tomboyish. But that's why I admired her, she was not like the other girls, and if she was like them, I wouldn't care.
Temari. As much as I would find it troublesome, I would love to be with you.
A/N: Yes…that was not as poetic as I imagined it to be…in fact…It wasn't poetic at all!!!
