Lucas entered the resturant and instantly found himself searching for Brooke.
"Table for Scott and Davis.?" Lucas proclaimed. Looking to the host who lead the way through the crowd of awaiting customers and already seated diners.
He was handed a menu and placed at a table seated across from Brooke.
After taking off his coat and putting it behind his chair. He looked up at her.
She was wearing a red long sleeved dress. Black leggings and grey boots.
While he more. A grey sweater. Dark wash jeans and black shoes.
It was fall and finally starting to feel like it.
"Where's Lindsey.?" Brooke asked.
"She changed her mind about showing up." Lucas admitted.
"Is Clay onn the way.?" Lucas asked.
"No he decided to just hang out at home."
"I thought about cancelling but decided against it." Brooke confessed.
"We are more then capable of having dinner together without any other distractions." Lucas replied.
Once they gave their meal and drink orders.
The two started catching up on what went on for the year they were apart.
The conversation flowed easily. They ate and drank. Got dessert.
And continued to fill the space with stories.
"I missed you. I miss us." Lucas said.
Brooke took a long sip from her glass.
"I miss talking to you too. Us being friends."
"I put up alot of walls when it comes to you."
"Wanting to protect my heart." Brooke admitted.
"My heart has been conflicted for a long time when it comes to you."
"I've tried to fill the hole you felt behind and nothing works."
"I need you in a way. I've never needed anyone."
"You have this hold on me that is more strong and intense then you realize."
"I still have those letters you wrote to me during that summer."
"I pushed you away more times then i can count. I hate that part of myself. The lack of ability to be open and vulnerable."
"You deserve better then that."
"You have someone that puts you first. I'm happy for you." Lucas stated matter of fact.
"Let's get out of here." Brooke suggested.
