Picks up after 16x01 Nothing Left To Cling To
Maggie tells Jackson they aren't friends after catching him flirting with Vic. Jackson is seeing Vic when this begins but make no mistake this is a #JAGGIE.
No one's been fired but Alex, Meredith & Richard are on one month suspension.
"I guess I made the wrong mistakes. I understand if you need your space. Please take your time. Before you go away you need to realize, baby It's not just you, you know it hurts me too."
Inspired by Not Just You by Cody Simpson
Author's Note: There probably won't be much of a storyline for the other characters but they'll definitely be in the story interacting with Jackson & Maggie.
Also, any medical storylines/surgeries (if I use any) will come directly from old episodes of GA because I know zero things about medicine & surgery.
P.S. This is my first time writing fanfic. Be honest, let me know what you think, but go easy on me guys. Hope you enjoy!
Let me know if you think I should continue.
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN GREY'S ANATOMY OR ANY OF ITS CHARACTERS.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
He opens one eye and peeks over at the clock on the nightstand, 5:30am. He hits the dismiss button to make the persistent ringing telling him it's time to get up & get ready for the day ahead stop.
He lays on his back, just staring at the ceiling for a few moments until I don't like you, and you don't like me. We're not friends.
That's his cue to get up and start moving. He's been trying to shake the words and her voice out of his head for the past week since she said them with no luck. He hears it before bed, first thing in the morning, during surgery, pretty much anywhere at anytime. And whenever he hears it, if he's not already, he has to start moving. Give his hands and feet something to keep busy. Occupy his mind with something, anything other than her words and her voice.
He escapes the words during sleep, but somehow he still can't escape her. She's ever present in all his dreams. Touching him. Kissing him. In the kitchen making her mom's lasagna. Having tea parties with Harriet. Or his personal favorite, the one that hurts the most, on the couch drinking a glass of wine while they watch the game and he absently rubs her feet. Those hurt the most because Maggie hates sports, has zero interest in them, yet she sits with him without complaint while he enjoys the game and her company. Then there's the intense make out sessions that turn into more during a commercial break or half-time.
Oddly enough, as present as she is in his mind, he hasn't seen her since that night a week ago, despite working in the same place.
He shakes his head as he steps out of the shower. Think about something else Jackson. Vic. Yes, he can think about Vic. They've been casually dating, neither ready for anything serious. Vic, she actually enjoys watching the game with him. It's a change of pace and he enjoys it but somehow it just doesn't mean as much.
"2 weeks? All it took to get over me was 2 weeks?" Maggie asks as she sits in the kitchen with her sisters before she and Amelia head off to the hospital, and Meredith heads to community service. "Ugh! I can't stand him!"
"So you told him." Meredith reminds her.
"He's not over you Maggie. At least I don't believe that. Everyone just deals with loss differently." Amelia tells her, trying to comfort her.
"Exactly. You get lost in your work. And Jackson, Jackson gets lost…" Meredith pauses "in other women."
"MERE" Amelia shouts.
Maggie's face drops for a millisecond, so quickly that her sister's miss it, before she's agreeing. "No Amelia, Mere's right. And on that note, we should get to work. I've gotta work on my rechargeable hearts a bit before my surgeries."
"Meredith. What is wrong with you?" Amelia whispers when Maggie walks away. "She needs comfort."
"What? I'm comforting her." She says with a blank stare.
Amelia just shakes her head as they walk out the door.
