Warnings Chapter 1
Chapter 204 Enochian
Cain gathered the group.
"So there is no compass points here. We will make our own so we don't waste time going over ourselves." Cain grabbed a large rock and threw it to the ground. "This will be our true center." He waved his hand and the rock glowed green." It will help us get back to the cage when we need to."
They spread out and moved where Cain set west of the cages position. It wasn't long before they came upon skin walkers. It was tough going because they were so quick but Dean was able to predict where they would be before they were there and held his new sword out for instant decapitation.
They had just dispatched those when giant spiders charged them.
"What have we stepped into, Harry Potter?" Dean groaned. "What's next, flying cars?"
Asmodeus laughed. "He's brave and feisty, Cain. You may have to fix him up again, he's bleeding from the leg tip scratches on his skin, although we all have those."
"You know that reference?" Dean was learning more and more about them.
"Alas, I married a human once. A very complicated race."
It took longer than expected to get through the giant arachnoids so they regrouped and took a short break to repair and drink water supplied by Ramiel. Dean had spider venom as well as his blood and the spider's blood, if that's what it was, on his white t shirt. He knew he had made a mistake there but he was all out of clean clothes. They started out again, going west with Cain in the lead. The ground was gradually changing to a more sand surface minute by minute until the trees came to a stop and there was black sand everywhere. Dean bent and felt the sand. It felt like ordinary beach sand but it was weird in this colour, or not colour, as he was thinking of it. He noticed their skin colour was duller and their clothes were fading the longer they were here. The sky wasn't blue but a mid- grey without cloud. They stopped in a row deciding whether to go forward or back. There were no defined paths anywhere so no track to follow.
Dean was somewhere in the middle and decided to turn and look back where they had come. As he turned his feet crossed and he fell onto the sand on his back. Dean looked up startled about to jump up when he saw something in the sky. The rest of the group chuckled between themselves until Dean pointed up to the sky.
"Uh, fellas, I think I found one." Dean flipped himself up and joined them staring up at the almost see though Enochian floating in the sky. It was only six foot long but very clear like it had been painted with a large felt tip pen. "So do you think I can shoot that?"
"Give it a try, Catalan." Said Asmodeus, giving Deans shoulder a push.
"Okay." Dean pushed the sword blade through his belt with the demon blade and made ready the rocket launcher. He pointed it straight up. "Fire in the hole."
Dean pulled the trigger and the grenade flew up before exploding so loudly they all covered their ears this time. When the smoke cleared the writing was still there.
"It's lighter." Grunted Cain. "That means it's linked to other Enochian sigils. When they have all been broken they all fade away and the spell is destroyed."
"Cain's been reading." Ramiel teased.
"What, do you think I just sit around playing with bees? I stay up to date with the scriptures of old."
"You going to read them all?"
"Maybe one day."
"There are millions." Ramiel huffed.
"I have time." Cain looked down, feeling a little sad. "Anyway, one down." He looked up. "What are we thinking? They won't all be in the air like that, it would be too easy. "
"Hidden in plain sight maybe." Said Asmodeus.
"We just need Dean to keep tripping over." Cain laughed.
They all smiled before Dean spoke up.
"I was thinking about the way the terrain has changed. First it was a dead forest, now it's sand. Maybe Lucifer is using the four nature elements: air, water, earth and fire."
"Mmm, okay." Cain murmured. "So you think the terrain will change again and there will be another seal?"
"It's just a guess."
"If that is so we need to find fire, water and earth. Let's continue on the way we were going. At least there is no cover for the monsters and I'm sure Lucifer knows someone has attacked a seal." Cain moved off across the sand and they followed.
It wasn't as hot as an earth desert but sandy just the same. The grace in Dean's left arm was making his arm feel heavier the longer it was in here. In a short time they could see nothing but sand in any direction. Dean understood how people could go crazy getting stuck out here. As well as the sand and the grace Dean was also finding breathing harder work that normal. The others seemed okay with it. He kept his head up looking for danger and wondering how Sam was doing. He took a step and saw a section in front of him move. He drew the sword just as the sand around them exploded with brown fur.
'Oh, great'. Dean thought, 'Monkeys.'
