Chapter 21: Cultural Festival
After being silent for a while, Shido had to explain softly: "Here's the thing: I saw Kasumigaoka first, so I invited her directly. If I saw you first, I would tell you first."
"So, that's the case." Eriri nodded with satisfaction.
"So, do you two have time?" Shido asked again.
"Of course!" X2
The two said in unison.
"Then it's settled. Let's find a place to eat together after school. I'll inform Natsumi later." Shido smiled. In fact, Natsumi witnessed the whole scene, but of course he couldn't tell them about it.
"I understand." Eriri nodded.
"By the way, Kasumigaoka, how is your novel doing?" Shido asked casually.
"Nothing new. It seems that I'm really not suitable for magical novels..." Utaha said helplessly. In terms of novel writing, she was way beyond Shido, and the plot was better than that of "Smartphone Man", so how could the sales contradict her expectations?
"Let me take a look when you have a chance! Maybe something went wrong." Shido said indifferently. Although his ability to write novels was average, he was still good at reading novels.
"Then this afternoon..." Utaha nodded. She brought her manuscript to school anyway.
"Okay." Shido said with a smile.
When he returned to school, he separated from the two and came to his classroom. Checking his surroundings, he realized that everyone seemed to be excited for something.
Except for Tomoya Aki, he was autistic as always.
"Aki, what happened?" Shido asked curiously. Although there were people who were better connected, they were all girls. It would be more appropriate to ask a male friend.
"It seems that it's almost time for the cultural festival." Tomoya responded casually, but his eyes did not leave the manga in his hand. "Today, we have to prepare the content of our class's exhibition!"
"Cultural festival? Isn't it a very interesting event...?" Shido asked in confusion.
"The 3D activity of the cultural festival has nothing to do with me, and I don't know what's so interesting about it, except that it will waste my time and make me unable to go home on time for this week to watch anime." Tomoya said calmly. He had fully understood that everything about the 3D activities had nothing to do with him, he only had love for 2D!
"Okay." Shido patted the other party's shoulder, then returned to his position.
Cultural festival?
Shido recalled that he took a leave of absence at last year's cultural festival by pretending to be sick. Should he do it again this year?
After thinking about it, he chose not to. There were some girls at school interested in him now, and if he went on sick calls, they might come to his house and visit!
But he didn't intend to actively participate either, after all, he didn't want to waste time. However, he could bring the Spirits on a date and visit the cultural festival, which might be a very fresh experience.
As the bell rang, Hiratsuka-sensei, who was wearing a white lab coat, walked into the classroom. She glanced at her students with sharp eyes, then showed a calm smile, and spoke:
"Next week is the day of the cultural festival. Today we will formulate the content of our class. Shido Itsuka, do you have any ideas?"
Shido gave a wry smile, why was he the target of his homeroom teacher?
But it didn't matter, he simply stood up with a smile, and responded:
"How about a curry house?"
Curry house, the most common and simplest activity in cultural festivals, was to buy some simple dishes that could be completed by dissolving curry bricks, and since it was at the cultural festival, it could be sold at a high price.
More importantly, students would just need to get some wooden boards as a signboard, and then come back with some cooking utensils at home! It only needed a few people to buy food. It's a perfect choice.
"No!" Hiratsuka shook her head without hesitation.
"Why not?" Shido frowned. Isn't this a student activity? He thought to himself.
"It's too ordinary, how can our class win 1st place like this!?" Hiratsuka said dismissively.
"Why do you want to win anyway?" Shido asked curiously.
"Funding! According to our performance this time, the treatment of the semester trip will also be different." Hiratsuka explained seriously.
"Tell us more" Several students stood up at the same time and said solemnly.
Many students didn't really take cultural festivals seriously, but they couldn't do the same with semester trips. These would be very meaningful activities, such as going out on a date with your crush, or finding a romantic place to confess to someone you like. These factors would make it more meaningful than the cultural festival.
"You must know that the money earned from the cultural festival cannot be shared with us, but it can be used for semester trips. That is to say, as long as we earn enough money in the cultural festival, we can upgrade our trip. Now do you understand?" Hiratsuka said with a blood-thirst look on her face.
Shido sighed helplessly. No wonder Hiratsuka was so serious all of a sudden. As the head teacher, she naturally wanted to travel with the students, and if the students' semester trips were upgraded, she would also benefit from it.
"That's it, I'm on fire!" The boys shouted excitedly.
It couldn't be helped, since there were too many beautiful girls in their class. Traveling with these beautiful girls was a very exciting thing in itself. If they could increase the funds, they might get to extend the duration of the trip, or go to a farther place, so that they could improve the chance to get along with each other.
In fact, except for these boys, those beautiful girls were serious as well, but the reason why was mostly because of Shido.
When the semester trip happens, Shido cannot take his girlfriend with him!
(However, he will still take them secretly, otherwise he will directly ask for leave.)
In other words, the opportunity to be alone with Shido had come.
Although they knew that he had more than one girlfriend, they wouldn't mind it at all.
If I can't beat them, join them!
Yumiko Miura was determined to make him fall for her during the trip.
