I don't own Avengers or Kingdom Hearts. They belong to Disney, Square Enix, and Marvel. Alright... 20th-anniversary event of the Kingdom Hearts event has come and gone and boy did we get a lot...
A preview of the end of Dark Road, the trailer for the new mobile game which looks like it could be entertaining: Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link, and of course the most exciting trailer that knocks all others out of the park: Kingdom Hearts IV! Can't believe I even typed that.
Now to celebrate the 20 years of childhood magic of gaming fun, I thought it would be great if I updated some of my Kingdom Hearts Fanfics. Of course, the one I'm currently working on is over 20k words and is still not ready yet, so during Easter, I came up with an idea of a story... involving a pairing I always wanted to try.
And don't panic this story will have only 5 Disney worlds plus one non-Disney world before moving on to the grand conclusion. It'll have a little something for all fans to enjoy. No, I'm not doing requests for worlds and no, neither of them are Turning Red or Rayna and the Last Dragon as I was not a fan of those films. More so the former, because at least the latter had some enjoyable moments. But that's beside the point, but the main point is... if you wish to guess what worlds will appear, the actual release date for Kingdom Hearts IV (Personally hoping for a 2023 or 2024 release at the latest), or which Kingdom Hearts stories of mine you'd like to see updated. Feel free to write the reviews all well as your thoughts
So, without further ado, here's a small prologue for this story. Enjoy!
Prologue: What if...? An Oath to Return
Somewhere in the multiverse, vast realities could be seen throughout the Multiverse. Peggy Carter was being injected with the Super Soldier Serum. Space Pirate taking in a young Prince of Wakanda. "Time."
Nick Fury and Black Widow were standing over the deceased body of Tony Stark. Doctor Strange was risking his entire universe to save the woman he loved. "Space."
Spider-Man along with Black Panther and the head of Scott Lang make a race to Wakanda in hopes for a cure of a deadly virus. Killmonger saving the life of Tony Stark from the Ten Rings. "Reality."
Thor was partying with Jane Foster all over the Earth. Ultron succeeded in getting the body of Vision and getting all six Infinity Stones. "It's more than a linear path. It's a prism of endless possibility, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the one you know."
Various more realities could be seen before revealing the one who watches all transpires in the Multiverse, "I am the Watcher. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question, 'What If...?'"
"Sora," The Watcher smiled with happiness as a young spikey hair teenage boy explores the worlds outside his own, "A Keyblade Wielder unlike any other. This one boy who can touch the hearts of so many. Can see the good inside anyone's heart before the bad. In many timelines, he left his own world with Donald and Goofy to search for their closest of friends and in doing so had saved the universe many times in multiple realities. His actions alone turned the tide against a war that sought to destroy it all..."
The Watcher's eyes narrowed as it turned to an old Keyblade Master staring at Sora with his eyes, "In many timelines, he would confront many enemies. One, in particular, was a Keyblade Master named: Xehanort. A Seeker of Darkness who used others in his conquest to use Kingdom Hearts to start over with him as a dictator. In many timelines, these two warriors would confront each other with Sora catching him unaware and stopping the would-be conqueror for good."
"But this tale... what if I told you that in a few timelines, these two would face each other yet again... long before they were even meant to and it started on a world that was never supposed to come into the conflict with the Keyblade War..." The Watcher turned to a particular universe on a particular world...
In a green world where most of the planet was covered with water, a mansion stood proudly as was the home of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, "This world has its own fill on Mighty Heroes called the Avengers. Together, they prevented many threats to their own world and defeated many threats no single hero could withstand. But this tale will focus on two in particular..."
"Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, daughter of Magento and Twin Sister of the Leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, Quicksilver, had recently come to America to make terms with the US government after the unwarranted attack from Genosha. Magento sought the destruction of mankind to protect the mutants by sacrificing the lives of his own people. After banishing her own father, she joined Earth's Mightiest Heroes on behalf of the people of Genosha to show a more positive influence on Mutantkind where she made quite a name for herself even gaining respect from the X-Men." The brunette woman in her red clothing defended several civilians from the Serpent Society alongside Vision, Hawkeye, and Wasp.
On the other side of things, a certain wall-crawler was chasing down a man in a Rhino suit causing damage throughout the city to draw out his attention, "When he was only fifteen, Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and gained the proportionate speed, strength, and agility of a spider. After the tragic death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. So, for the past eight years, he dedicated his life to protecting his city as the Amazing Spider-Man. Within that time, he had gained part-time membership of the Avengers, shortly before Wanda joined the team. However, these two heroes would soon join forces against the forces of darkness after an unlikely encounter..."
"AVENGERS," Captain America raised his mighty shield calling out to his team, "ASSEMBLE!"
Iron Man flew straight at their current foe Kang the Conqueror, who currently escaped his cell within a SWORD facility. The Time Conqueror managed to get a hold of most of his equipment except his Time Chair held within the vault containing the most dangerous technology of many of the villains within the cells of the prison. If he got a hold of his chair, he would escape to his own time, most likely to plan for another invasion to conquer their time.
As one of his drones slowly cut the vault open, he turned to face the armored Avenger. Before Iron Man could tackle him, Kang simply raised an arm as a highly technological force field appeared knocking him back. Vision tried to phase through the shield, however, as advanced Vision was, he was still outdated by Kang's future tech as the barrier shocked him. Captain America and Thor tried basing their way threw the shield, but the forcefield was able to defend against the attacks of Cap's mighty shield and Mjölnir, knocking both heroes back.
Kang smirked until the shield seemingly died down. He grumbled in annoyance, "Suit still low on power..."
He quickly tried going to reserves, it had to be enough to get to his Time Chair. With it, it would not only restore his suit to full power but he would be able to return to his time, if not, the Avengers would take him, prisoner, again. The Council of Kangs' warned him if he did not return to his own time soon, something will happen that would threaten the stability of this time and reality and could have devasting consequences. It was why they gave his suit back, unfortunately, not even they could predict that during his last invasion, he used most of his suit's power by the time he was defeated by the Avengers.
He had this one chance to return to his time, to prevent this danger to the timestream. Then once the danger had passed, which would be only seconds to him, he would return to conquer this time and have his revenge. He then heard an arrow shot from the archer. He turned to redirect the explosive arrow back at Hawkeye.
Captain Marvel quickly flew in to defend the archer, tanking the explosive for him but still knocked the both of them back. Suddenly, he heard an all too familiar voice coming him from behind him, "INCOMING!"
Before he could react, Spider-Man kicked the Time-Conqueror into the wall causing him to grunt in pain, the Wall-Crawler landed in front of him as he webbed him on the ground, "Hey, Kangy, long time, no see! How's prison life treating you?"
Kang simply growled in response, "Spider-Man. It would seem you haven't lost your tasteless humor."
"Hey, tons of people find me funny," The Web-Slinger quipped, "You just don't have a sense of humor. Maybe more time in the slammer, you learn some of your own. Besides, I heard it's meatloaf night. You just can't miss meatloaf night!"
Kang used his free finger to forward the time it took to dissolve Spider-Man's webbing. Normally, it would take an hour, but for Kang, it only took a moment. Spider-Man quickly moved to resubdue the villain but using his own skills threw Spider-Man to the ground. As he pulled out a time-ax he commented, "In my time, Spider-Man became the greatest of all the 21st-century heroes. You fought till the end of the age of 85." He then grinned, "Too bad, you'll never live long enough to see that future."
Before he could swing down, he was blasted away by a red mist slamming him against the prison vault. The Scarlet Witch walked her way to the recovering Avengers as she glared at Kang, "I'm afraid I can't let shorten Spider-Man's life."
Spider-Man groaned, he stood beside the daughter of Magento, "Thanks for that..."
She simply nodded as her focus was squarely on Kang. The Time Conqueror groaned as the vault door finally fell. He turned and grinned as the other Avengers stared in horror as the Time Chair floated in the center of the vault. With little power left, Kang made a dash for his chair as Tony Stark called out, "Don't let him get to the chair!"
Spider-Man shot out a web to the ceiling, "Got it!"
Wanda quickly followed behind him. Just as Kang got to his chair, Spider-Man started to grab on to him and force him out of the Time Chair. However, Kang resisted as he complained, "Release me, you meddling insects."
"Oh, come on," Spider-Man complained as they continued to struggle, "Even in the future, people are still confused about the differences between insects and arachnids! Shows how smart would-be conquerors actually are!"
Despite the struggle, Kang managed to access his computers terminal. Realizing he was trying to return to his own him, Wanda caused a hex to mess with the navigation systems as she declared, "You're not going anywhere!"
"No, don't you'll risk the stability of the space-time continuum!" Kang warned her as still tried to make his escape by getting one arm free to activate his chair. However, the mutant girl still refused to stay down. As the Time-Conqueror made his escape the hex backfired as it caught Kang, Spider-Man, and Wanda in the attack. All three screamed before they vanished before the other heroes' eyes.
"Wh-what happened?" Hawkeye asked in confusion.
Thor answered as he summoned his hammer, "He got away. And he took Ms. Maximoff and the Man of Spiders with him."
The World War II Super-Solider turned to the futurist, "Tony. Is there any way we can track them? Find a way to bring them back?"
"That's the problem," The founding Avenger stated, "They can be anywhere or anywhen in time. We have no way to go after them."
"We have to try, wherever and whenever they are, they trapped with Kang," Captain America refused to accept that answer, "We'll regroup at Avengers Tower and gather every thinker we can. Before Kang makes his next move."
Captain Marvel's eyes narrowed, "When he does, we'll be ready for them."
"Unknown to them, Kang would be the least of their worries, as another far more dangerous enemy would arise from the chaos..."
Long ago, on a distant world, Xehanort stood the edge of the Destiny Islands as he watched the sunset on his world. He couldn't help but comment, "This world... is just too small..."
And they would conclude the prologue for this tale, now if you can guess from the preview from above and the story so far. The main pairing for this story is Spider-Man and Scarlet Which. The main villain will be Young Xehanort. And Sora will still be the adorable boy we see in Birth By Sleep when we get to him. While the story will mainly focus on Sora, Peter, and Wanda against the Young Xehanort, we will see what the other heroes are doing back on Earth, Midgard, whatever. I haven't come up with a clever name for that world yet.
Now, a few other things worth noting, Peter has had years of experience as Spider-Man so he's no noob in this story. Scarlet Witch is mostly based on her appearances in Wolverine and the X-Men and she's been an Avenger since the end of Season 1 before the sadly canceled Season 2. This is, however, the first time the two have met in this timeline, so the duo will have to learn to work together against the young Keyblade Wielder to protect our spiky protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series.
Also, keep an eye out for nods to the series as this story will set up the events of the first Kingdom Hearts game ever made. Spoiler, you'll love them, even if it will be different of how things start for Sora's journey. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the prologue. Expect longer chapters in the long run.
