Somebody once told me that if you love someone, you would do anything for them. Absolutely anything.
I can't recall exactly who it was who told me this, but the phrase constantly repeats itself in my mind whenever I look at her. I have always waited for the opportunity to show her exactly how much I loved her.
Many people say that I'm too young to truly be in love. But I know that she's the one. I just know. It's the way she smiles whenever I do something funny, or how her eyebrows knit together when she disagrees with our sensei. It's the way she is always ready to help us heal our wounds, physically or mentally. The way she is tolerant when Kakashi and I are fighting, and the way she doesn't mind being overshadowed by the his talent, unlike me.
You don't have to be old to fall in love.
And I will protect her with my life. Even if I die, it's worth it. Because I love her.
Even though I know that she doesn't think of me as more than a friend, I can't help hoping that one day I will be able to show her that I am worthy. That I'm not a child anymore.
It's the way Rin smiles.
