Based in omegaverse; there are different ranks with their own traits & abilities.
The order of Ranks:
Alpha: Top of ranks, strongest, fastest, most aggressive and protective of what is theirs or who. Extremely competitive and frequently fight other alphas to prove themselves the strongest. Have the largest gland for sent release. Only alpha's eyes change color when heart rate is elevated either from being in rut, dominance fights, angry or sometimes if simply working out. The eyes turn a darker shade of their natural eye color(blue turns dark blue, brown turns black, yellow turns dark gold).
Gamma: Very much the loner type, hates everyone equally. Prefers to have no mate, avoid everyone and has no sent release. The can sense others but not make their own, no gland to do so. Very aggressive if you try to communicate with them and they aren't in a good mood to deal with you.
Beta: The have small glands for scent release, they sometimes look for a mate but don't crave one as much as alphas do. Primarily passive-aggressive, very neutral in the ranks. They tend to be very competitive amongst their own rank.
Delta: Similar to Beta in every aspect but aren't competitive. They tend to lean more passive and avoid conflict. Good with letting others take the lead.
Stigma: Physically weaker than the higher ranks but very head strong. Slightly larger glands than Beta & Delta. They will pick fights and question leadership of all higher ranks even if they may lose if it gets physical. Competitive.
Omega: Lowest of the ranks. They are gentle and caring souls that just want those around them to be happy. Tend to be the most abused rank. They are the weakest physically of all the ranks. The have the second largest gland for scent release. Non-aggressive, completely passive.
Hormone scent release; all those but Gamma has them. It can act to get one to submit or to help calm someone down or to warn off others or sometimes to say how you are feeling. The release can be both instinctual and manual.
Alphas are the only ones who go into rut, they all have penises even if female that work as one. Rut is an overly horny time for them to just have sex. Ruts can be very painful if not dealt with, if an alpha can't mate then the knot that forms at the base will get tighter & tighter and sometimes the skin can begin to rip apart causing blood loss. Usually alphas have a mate, typically an omega to handle their needs. But if they don't then it will be an agonizing time for them till it's over. If one has a mate then they typically become very clingy to their partner and become distressed if their partner isn't near them. All ranks can smell an alpha in rut, try to avoid alpha best you can during this time if you don't plan of satisfying their needs.
Omegas go into heat whether they are male or female and both can get pregnant during this time. This is also the time where alphas will breed & mark them. There are two types of marks temporarily which lasts for a few days and permanent marks that will last the entirety of the omegas life. The mark happens when an alpha puts their knot into the omega then bites into the gland on their neck. Omegas are usually more skittish during this time as any touch sends the feeling of electricity throughout their body, depending on the alpha it can be either pleasurable or extremely painful. Alphas are usually drawn to omegas during this time and will even fight for an omega. Non-consensual is very common.
