Stuart was coming in to work. A woman he didn't recognize got on the elevator with him. She had an FBI badge
"Which floor?" He asked.
"Six."
"Me to." "Are you going to see Isobel?"
"No." "Lexie Dalton."
"You know my partner?"
"Yes, we go way back."
"Stuart Scola."
"Kristen Willis."
They got off the elevator.and went over to Lexie's desk. She was busy with paperwork and not paying attention.
"Lex, you have a visitor." Stuart said
Lexie looked up and smiled. It was the first time Stuart had ever seen her smile. She stood up and hugged Kristen.
"What are you doing here?" Lexie asked surprised.
"I'm helping SVU with a case." Kristen said. "I just came from the precinct." "I heard you transferred to New York." "I want to take you to dinner tonight."
"Ok." "This is my partner, Stuart Scola."
"We met in the elevator."
"It's nice to meet a friend of Lexie's." Stuart said.
Later that night Lexie met Kristen for dinner. They were at the restaurant.
"How are the kids and Eli?" Lexie asked.
"Good." "Jennifer just had our first grandson and Robert is in his second year, at the University Of California."
"That's great."
"Do you like New York?"
"Yeah"
"Are you still having nightmares?"
"Yeah."
"Have you considered therapy again?"
"Two doctors is enough, and they didn't help me."
"Anyone special in your life?"
"Not for about three years."
"Is your partner single?"
"Yes."
"He's very attractive." She said smiling.
"I've never dated a fellow agent."
"There's a first time for everything." "He likes you." "Even though I was only around you two for a few minutes today, I could tell."
"No."
"Lexie, how long are you going to let Emmett Cruise control your life?"
"This has nothing to do with Emmett Cruise."
"The hell it doesn't."
"You know relationships are tough for me." "Which is probably why I've only had two." "I don't want to explain to Stuart or anyone else, why I scars on my breasts and burns on my back."
"You deserve to be happy Lexie."
"I don't even know what that means anymore."
