Lexie woke up the next morning. She got dressed and went downstairs. As she was making coffee Stuart woke up. He came into the kitchen
"Morning." He said.
"Morning." "Coffee?"
"Yes." He sat down at the kitchen table. She brought him his coffee and sat acrossed from him with her cup. "How are you doing?"
"Better." "I was just having a bad day." "Thank you for staying." "That was very nice of you."
"I'm just glad I could be here for you." "Have you considered therapy?"
"I've tried it." "It doesn't work." "Two years a piece, two different doctors."
"If you ever need to talk about it, I'm here to listen."
"I told you everything."
"I know." "I just mean if you need to vent, no matter what time it is." "If you have one of your nightmares and need to talk, you can call me."
"Thanks." "Are you mad at me?"
"No." "Why?"
"The kiss."
"No, I'm not mad at you."
"I'm sorry."
"You don't have to be sorry, it's fine."
After Stuart finished his coffee Lexie walked him to the door.
"Thank you again for staying." She said.
"You're welcome." They hugged "Bye."
"Bye." He left.
Later that night after she had dinner Lexie called Kristen. She explained what happened yesterday.
"It was nice of him to come and check on you." Kristen said.
"Yeah." "I made a mistake Kristen." "I kissed him."
"Did he kiss you back?"
"Yeah."
"Did you like it?"
"Yes."
"Why was it a mistake?"
"We're partners."
"Right, and you're attracted to each other, it's ok."
"No it's not." "He doesn't deserve to be brought into my bullshit."
"What you're going through isn't bullshit." "Let him into your life."
The following night Lexie was getting ready to leave the office. She pressed the button for the elevator. Stuart came up to her.
"Lex, I want to give you something." Stuart said. He handed her a business card. "I know you said you've tried therapy before but this doctor is good." "She helped me."
"I'll think about it." She got on the elevator.
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight." The doors closed.
