Note: Don't let the title of the story fool you, this is not a crossover between the Mighty Ducks and Loonatics Unleashed. In fact, this story will be focused on an offshoot of the team that was formed to defend Acmetropolis in the original Loonatics' absence. As such, get ready to meet the new team. Now then, let's get on with the story.
Chapter 1: Prologue
It had been a few months since the Loonatics saved Planet Blanc, and the team had decided to relocate their HQ to the distant planet. While some were glad that the Loonatics had left Acmetropolis, most missed the team of superheroes, as they were the city-planet's defenders. Without the team, the world was at risk of being attacked by villains, old and new. In fact, the citizens felt as though they couldn't trust the police, as some of them cut deals with criminals. Also, attacks on the city increased as time went on. It was only a matter of time before a new hero arrived.
One day, an Arctic fox walked near the original Loonatics HQ, looking up at the tower in awe. The snow white vixen couldn't believe her eyes, knowing that she was in front of where Acmetropolis' heroes once lived. Before she could continue looking, she sensed someone approaching her. Turning her head, the vixen saw a woman with blonde hair walking towards her.
"I see that you've found the Loonatics' old headquarters." The woman greeted.
"Yes," the Arctic fox said in her Estuary English accent, "I was just interested in looking at the building."
"That's not a surprise." The mysterious woman said. "Many tourists come here to take a look at the place."
"I figured." The white vixen stated.
"So, what brings you here?"
"I've got powers as well, and I would like to join the team."
"What are your powers?"
"I have telepathy and energy blasts."
"Interesting," the woman said, "what's your name?"
"Diane McAllister." The vixen answered. "And you?"
"I'm Zadavia, the person who assembled the Loonatics after the meteor struck Acmetropolis." The woman stated.
"Can I join the team?" Diane asked.
"Look, Diane, it's a little late to join the Loonatics." Zadavia told her. "The team was formed before you had a chance to join."
"Is there anything I can do?" The vixen asked, her Estuary English accent filling Zadavia's ears.
"I'll have to consult the Loonatics themselves." The older woman said. "But, until then, you'll have to wait for a while."
"I'll do so. Tell me what they say."
"I will. Goodbye for now."
"Bye."
Diane and Zadavia walked away from each other, going off to separate destinations. As she walked to her destination, Zadavia contemplated her next move.
I hope that Ace and the others are okay with this. She thought to herself.
Note: Pretty dull opening, but the story will get better. As for the Loonatics, let's just hope that they're okay with the team getting new members. This is a new story, so I might need to take it easy as I write stuff like this. What did you guys think about this chapter?
